USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3151; (P) 1.3183; (R1) 1.3226; More

Intraday bias in USD/CAD is turned neutral again with current recovery. Another fall is still in favor with 1.3247 minor resistance intact. Below 1.3133 will target 1.3016 low. However, break of 1.3247 will suggest completion of the fall from 1.3382. Intraday bias would then be turned back to the upside for 1.3382 resistance.

In the bigger picture, key cluster support of 1.3068 (38.2% retracement of 1.2061 to 1.3664 at 1.3052) remains intact. Medium term rise from 1.2061 low is in favor to resume sooner or later. Firm break of 61.8% retracement of 1.4689 (2016 high) to 1.2061 at 1.3685 will confirm and target 1.4689 high. However, sustained break of 1.3052/68 will confirm completion of up trend from 1.2061 (2017 low). Further fall should be seen to 61.8% retracement at 1.2673 next.

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3683; (P) 1.3746; (R1) 1.3808; More….

Intraday bias in USD/CAD remains neutral for the moment. Further rise in favor as long as 1.3501 support holds. On the upside, decisive break of 1.3976 will resume larger up trend and target 200% projection of 1.2005 to 1.2947 from 1.2401 at 1.4285. However, sustained trading below 1.3494 support will complete a head and shoulder top pattern (ls: 1.3832; h: 1.3976; rs: 1.3807). Outlook will be turned bearish for deeper fall to 1.3207 resistance turned support.

In the bigger picture, up trend from 1.2005 (2021 low) is still in progress. Based on current impulsive momentum, it could be resuming long term up trend from 0.9056 (2007 low). Whether it is or it isn’t, retest of 1.4689 (2016 high) should be seen next. This will now remain the favored case as long as 1.3222 resistance turned support holds.

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3620; (P) 1.3690; (R1) 1.3728; More

Intraday bias in USD/CAD remains on the downside for 8.2% retracement of 1.3091 to 1.3897 at 1.3589. Strong support should be seen there to bring rebound. On the upside, above 1.3759 minor resistance will bring retest of 1.3897. However, sustained break of 1.3589 will bring deeper fall to 61.8% retracement at 1.3399 instead.

In the bigger picture, corrective pattern from 1.3976 (2022 high) should have completed with three waves down to 1.3091. Decisive break of 1.3976 high will confirm resumption of up trend from 1.2005 (2021 low). This will now remain the favored case as long as 1.3378 support holds. However, firm break of 1.3378 will argue that the pattern from 1.3976 is indeed still extending.

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3528; (P) 1.3558; (R1) 1.3600; More

Range trading continues in USD/CAD and intraday bias stays neutral. On the upside, decisive break of 1.3612 resistance will resume whole rise from 1.3176 towards 1.3897 resistance. On the downside, firm break of 1.3419 support will argue that rebound from 1.3176 has completed. Near term outlook will be turned bearish for 1.3357 support first.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3976 (2022 high) are viewed as a corrective pattern only. In case of another fall, strong support should emerge above 1.2947 resistance turned support to bring rebound. Overall, larger up trend from 1.2005 (2021 low) is still expected to resume through 1.3976 at a later stage.

USD/CAD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3108; (P) 1.3139; (R1) 1.3181; More

Range trading continues in USD/CAD and intraday bias stays neutral. Further rise is expected with 1.2971 support intact. On the upside, decisive break of 1.3222 will resume larger up trend from 1.2005. Next target is 100% projection of 1.2005 to 1.2947 from 1.2401 at 1.3343.

In the bigger picture, down trend from 1.4667 (2020 high) should have completed at 1.2005, after defending 1.2061 long term cluster support. Rise from there should target 61.8% retracement of 1.4667 to 1.2005 (2021 low) at 1.3650. This will remain the favored case now as long as 1.2516 support holds.

USD/CAD Weekly Outlook

USD/CAD’s rebound from 1.2005 resumed last week and hit as high as 1.2589. But a temporary top was formed there and initial bias is turned neutral this week first. The break of medium term channel resistance is a sign of reversal. Further rise is in favor as long as 1.2301 support holds. Above 1.2589 will target 1.2653 structural resistance. However, break of 1.2301 support will dampen the bullish case and turn bias back to the downside for 1.2005 low instead.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4667 is seen as the third leg of the corrective pattern from 1.4689 (2016 high). It might have completed after hitting 1.2061 (2017 low) and 50% retracement of 0.9406 to 1.4689 at 1.2048. Sustained break of 38.2% retracement of 1.4667 to 1.2005 at 1.3022 will pave the way to 61.8% retracement at 1.3650. Overall, medium term outlook remains neutral at worst with 1.2048/61 support zone intact.

In the longer term picture, we’re viewing price actions from 1.4689 as a consolidation pattern. Thus, up trend from 0.9506 (2007 low) is still expected to resume at a later stage. This will remain the favored case as long as 1.2061 support holds, which is close to 50% retracement of 0.9406 to 1.4689 at 1.2048. However, sustained break of 1.2061 will be a sign of long term bearishness. Deeper fall would be seen to 61.8% retracement at 1.1424 and below.

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3371; (P) 1.3397; (R1) 1.3417; More

Intraday bias in USD/CAD remains neutral as consolidation from 1.3444 might extends. As long as 1.3160 minor support holds, further rally is still expected. On the upside, break of 1.3444 will turn bias back to the upside. Larger rally from 1.2061 should target 1.3685 fibonacci level next.

In the bigger picture, up trend from 1.2061 (2017 low) is still in progress and should target to 61.8% retracement of 1.4689 (2016 high) to 1.2061 at 1.3685. This will remain the preferred case as long as channel support (now at 1.2949) holds.

USD/CAD Weekly Outlook

USD/CAD gyrated around 1.2061 key support level last week and outlook is unchanged. Initial bias stays neutral this week first. We’d continue be stay cautious on support from 1.2061 long term cluster support to bring reversal. Break of 1.2201 resistance will indicate short term bottoming and turn bias to the upside for stronger rebound. However, sustained break of 1.2061 will carry larger bearish implications. Next near term target will be 161.8% projection of 1.2880 to 1.2363 from 1.2653 at 1.1816.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4667 is seen as the third leg of the corrective pattern from 1.4689 (2016 high). We’d look for strong support from 1.2061 (2017 low) and 50% retracement of 0.9406 to 1.4689 at 1.2048 to bring rebound. Nevertheless, sustained break of 1.2363 support turned resistance is needed to be the first sign of medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish in case of strong rebound. Also, sustained break of 1.2061 will pave the way to 61.8% retracement of 0.9406 to 1.4689 at 1.1424.

In the longer term picture, we’re viewing price actions from 1.4689 as a consolidation pattern. Thus, up trend from 0.9506 (2007 low) is still expected to resume at a later stay. This will remain the favored case as long as 1.2061 support holds, which is close to 50% retracement of 0.9406 to 1.4689 at 1.2048. However, sustained break of 1.2061 will be a sign of long term bearishness. Deeper fall would be seen to 61.8% retracement at 1.1424 and below..

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3136; (P) 1.3182; (R1) 1.3215; More….

Range trading continues in USD/CAD and intraday bias remains neutral for the moment. Further decline is expected as long as 1.3386 resistance holds. Break of 1.3091 will resume larger fall and target 61.8% projection of 1.3653 to 1.3115 from 1.3386 at 1.3054. However, firm break of 1.3386 will indicate near term reversal and turn outlook bullish.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3976 are viewed as a correction to up trend from 1.2005 (2021 low) only. But even so, deeper decline is expected as long as 1.3386 resistance holds. Further fall could be seen to 61.8% retracement of 1.2005 to 1.3976 at 1.2758. Meanwhile, break of 1.3386 will be a sign that the correction has completed and bring stronger rally back to retest 1.3976.

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2791; (P) 1.2825; (R1) 1.2843; More

Intraday bias in USD/CAD stays neutral and outlook is unchanged. Pull back from 1.3075 could extend lower, but further rise is in favor with 1.2712 support intact. On the upside, break of 1.3075 will resume the rise from 1.2401. Sustained trading above 1.3022 fibonacci level will carry larger bullish implications. Next target will be 100% projection of 1.2005 to 1.2947 from 1.2401 at 1.3343. On the downside, however, break of 1.2712 support will indicate rejection by 1.3022 key fibonacci resistance, and bring deeper decline back to 1.2401 support.

In the bigger picture, focus stays on 38.2% retracement of 1.4667 (2020 high) to 1.2005 (2021 low) at 1.3022. Sustained break there should confirm that the down trend from 1.4667 has completed after defending 1.2061 long term cluster support. Further rise would then be seen towards 61.8% retracement at 1.3650. However, rejection by 1.3022 will maintain medium term bearishness. Break of 1.2005 will resume the down trend from 1.4667 and that carries larger bearish implications too.

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3412; (P) 1.3473; (R1) 1.3525; More….

Intraday bias in USD/CAD remains neutral for the moment. In case of another recovery, upside should be limited by 1.3570 resistance and bring fall resumption. We’re holding on to the view that rise from 1.2968 has completed. And the larger rise from 1.2460 could have finished too. Below 1.3387 will target 1.3222 support first. Break of 1.3222 will affirm our bearish view and target 1.2968 key support level for confirmation. However, break of 1.3570 will turn focus back to 1.3793 high instead.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.4689 medium term top are seen as a correction pattern. The first leg has completed at 1.2460. Rise from 1.2460 is seen as the second leg and could have completed at 1.3793, ahead of 61.8% retracement of 1.4689 to 1.2460 at 1.3838. Break of 1.3222 should indicate the start of the third leg while further break of 1.2968 should confirm. Nonetheless, sustained trading above 1.3838 would pave the way to retest 1.4689 high.

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3114; (P) 1.3145; (R1) 1.3167; More….

Intraday bias in USD/CAD stays neutral at this point. Further decline is expected as long as 1.3259 resistance holds. Below 1.3081 will target 1.2994 low first. Break will resume the larger fall from 1.4667. However, break of 1.3259 resistance will extend the consolidation pattern from 1.2994 with another rising leg. Intraday bias will be turned back to the upside for 1.3418 instead.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4667 is seen as the third leg of the corrective pattern from 1.4689 (2016 high). Sustained break of 61.8% retracement of 1.2061 to 1.4667 at 1.3056 will target a test on 1.2061 (2017 low). But we’d expect loss of downside momentum as it approaches this key support. On the upside, firm break of 1.3715 resistance will argue that this falling leg has completed and turn focus back to 1.4667/89 resistance zone.

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3504; (P) 1.3534; (R1) 1.3589; More….

Intraday bias in USD/CAD is turned neutral again with break of 1.3478 minor support. Overall, it’s seen as extending the triangle consolidation pattern from 1.3976. Above 1.3566 will resume the rebound towards 1.3666 resistance and then 1.3860. However, firm break of 1.3313 support will invalidate this view and indicate that deeper correction is underway.

In the bigger picture, as long as 55 W EMA (now at 1.3321) holds, up trend from 1.2005 (2021 low) is still in favor to resume through 1.3976 at a later stage. However, sustained trading below the EMA and 38.2% retracement of 1.2005 to 1.3976 at 1.3233 will raise the chance of bearish reversal. Deeper should then be seen to 61.8% retracement at 1.2758 next.

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3455; (P) 1.3472; (R1) 1.3496; More….

USD/CAD’s rebound from 1.3299 extends higher today and focus is now on 1.3552 resistance. Firm break there will argue that fall form 1.3860 has completed. More important, that would also indicate completion of the three-wave corrective pattern from 1.3976 too. Intraday bias will be back on the upside for 1.3860/3976 resistance zone.

In the bigger picture, the up trend from 1.2005 (2021 low) is still in progress. Break of 1.3976 will confirm resumption and target 61.8% projection of 1.2401 to 1.3976 from 1.3261 at 1.4234. Firm break there will pave the way to long term resistance zone at 1.4667/89 (2016, 2020 highs). On the downside, sustained break of 55 W EMA (now at 1.3282) is needed to confirm medium term topping. Otherwise, outlook will remain bullish even in case of deep pull back.

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3161; (P) 1.3181; (R1) 1.3213; More….

Intraday bias in USD/CAD remains on the upside as this point and further rise should be seen to 1.3327 resistance. We’re favoring the case that corrective pattern from 1.3664 has completed as a triangle at 1.2951. Break of 1.3327 should confirm this bullish view and pave the way for a retest on 1.3664 high. In any case, near term outlook will remain bullish as long as 1.3117 support holds, in case of retreat.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.2061 (2017 low) could have completed at 1.3664, after failing 61.8% retracement of 1.4689 (2016 high) to 1.2061 at 1.3685. However, structure of price actions from 1.3664 argues that it’s probably just a corrective move. Hence, while further fall cannot be ruled out, downside should be contained by 50% retracement of 1.2061 to 1.3664 at 1.2863.

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2935; (P) 1.2995; (R1) 1.3028; More

Range trading continues in USD/CAD and intraday bias remains neutral. Further rise is mildly in favor with 1.2818 support intact. On the upside, break of 1.3077 and sustained trading above 1.3022 fibonacci level will carry larger bullish implications, and bring up trend resumption. Next target is 100% projection of 1.2005 to 1.2947 from 1.2401 at 1.3343. On the downside, break of 1.2818 minor support will bring deeper fall back to 1.2516 support instead.

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3109; (P) 1.3184; (R1) 1.3223; More….

Intraday bias in USD/CAD is turned neutral as it retreated deeply after hitting 1.3259. But further rise remains in favor with 1.3086 minor support holds. Above 1.3259 will extend the rebound from 1.2994 short term bottom to 55 day EMA (now at 1.3319), and then 38.2% retracement of 1.4667 to 1.2994 at 1.3633. On the downside, though, below 1.3086 minor support will bring retest of 1.2994 instead.

On the upside, though, break out 1.3715 resistance is needed to confirm completion of the fall. Otherwise, outlook will stay bearish.

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3505; (P) 1.3559; (R1) 1.3598; More….

Intraday bias in USD/CAD remains neutral for the moment. The favored case is still that correction from 1.3976 has completed at 1.3224. Above 1.3699 will resume the rebound from there to 1.3807 resistance, and then retesting 1.3976 high. However, break of 1.3383 support will dampen this case and bring retest of 1.3224 low instead.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.3222 cluster support (38.2% retracement of 1.2005 to 1.3976 at 1.3223) holds, larger up trend from 1.2005 (2021 low) is still expected to resume through 1.3976 high at a later stage. However, firm break of 1.3222/3 will indicate that the trend might have reversed. Deeper fall would be seen to next cluster support at 1.2726 (61.8% retracement at 1.2758).

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3651; (P) 1.3713; (R1) 1.3787; More

Intraday bias in USD/CAD stays on the upside for the moment. Current rally should target 161.8% projection of 1.2005 to 1.2947 from 1.2401 at 1.3925. Firm break there will target 200% projection at 1.4285. On the downside, below 1.3638 minor support will turn intraday bias neutral and bring consolidations first, before staging another rally.

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3584; (P) 1.3601; (R1) 1.3619; More

Range trading continues in USD/CAD and intraday bias stays neutral. On the downside, below 1.3479 will resume the corrective fall from 1.3897. But downside should be contained by 1.3378 support, which is close to 61.8% retracement of 1.3091 to 1.3897 at 1.3399, to bring rebound. On the upside, break of 1.3625 resistance will indicate short term bottoming, and turn bias back to the upside for stronger rise.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.3091 is seen as the fifth leg of the whole rise from 1.2005 (2021 low). Further rally is expected as long as 1.3378 support holds, to 61.8% projection of 1.2401 to 1.3976 from 1.3091 at 1.4064. However, decisive break of 1.3378 will dampen this view and bring deeper fall back to 1.3091 instead.
