USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3521; (P) 1.3542; (R1) 1.3565; More….

USD/CAD recovers mildly ahead of 1.3485 support and intraday bias remains neutral first. With 1.3485 support intact, further rally is still expected. On the upside, break of 1.3715 will extend the rebound from 1.3315 to 38.2% retracement of 1.4667 to 1.3315 at 1.3831. On the downside, however, break of 1.3485 will argue that the rebound has completed and turn bias back to the downside for retesting 1.3315 low.

In the bigger picture, the rise from 1.2061 (2017 low) could have completed at 1.4667 after failing 1.4689 (2016 high). Fall from 1.4667 could be the third leg of the corrective pattern from 1.4689. Deeper fall is expected to 61.8% retracement at 1.3056 and possibly below. This will now remain the favored case as long as 1.3855 support turned resistance holds. However, sustained break of 1.3855 will turn focus back to 1.4689 key resistance.

Intraday bias in USD/CAD is turned neutral again with today’s retreat. But still, as long as 1.34990 support holds, further rise is expected. On the upside, break of 1.3715 will resume the rebound from 1.3315 to 38.2% retracement of 1.4667 to 1.3315 at 1.3831. On the downside, however, break of 1.3490 will argue that the rebound has completed and turn bias back to the downside for retesting 1.3315 low.

USD/CAD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2045; (P) 1.2069; (R1) 1.2089; More

Intraday bias in USD/CAD remains neutral first and outlook is unchanged. We’d stay cautious on strong support from 1.2048/61 to bring reversal. On the upside, break of 1.2201 resistance will indicate short term bottoming and turn bias to the upside for stronger rebound. On the downside, break of 1.2011, and sustained break of 1.2048/61 will carry larger bearish implications. Next near term target will be 161.8% projection of 1.2880 to 1.2363 from 1.2653 at 1.1816.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4667 is seen as the third leg of the corrective pattern from 1.4689 (2016 high). We’d look for strong support from 1.2061 (2017 low) and 50% retracement of 0.9406 to 1.4689 at 1.2048 to bring rebound. Nevertheless, sustained break of 1.2363 support turned resistance is needed to be the first sign of medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish in case of strong rebound. Also, sustained break of 1.2061 will pave the way to 61.8% retracement of 0.9406 to 1.4689 at 1.1424.

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2941; (P) 1.2996; (R1) 1.3040; More…..

USD/CAD continues to stay in range of 1.2817/3066 and intraday bias remains neutral. Further rise is still expected with 1.2817 support intact. Break of 1.3066 will resume the rally from 1.2526 and target 1.3124 key resistance next. However, break of 1.2817 will indicate near term reversal and turn bias to the downside for 1.2728 support and below.

In the bigger picture, we’re favoring the case that that rebound from 1.2061 has not completed yet. But there is no follow through upside momentum so far. Focus remains on 38.2% retracement of 1.4689 to 1.2061 at 1.3065. Sustained trading above there will confirm medium term bullish reversal. That is, down trend from 1.4689 has completed at 1.2061 already. In that case, next target will be 61.8% retracement at 1.3685. However, break of 1.2526 support will dampen this bullish view again. And, focus will be back on 1.2061 key support level, which is close to 50% retracement of 0.9406 (2011 low) to 1.4689 (2015 high) at 1.2048.

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3932; (P) 1.4002; (R1) 1.4069; More….

USD/CAD is staying in consolidation from 1.4667 and outlook is unchanged. Deeper fall could be seen through 1.3855. But downside should be contained by 61.8% retracement of 1.3202 to 1.4667 at 1.3762 to bring rebound. On the upside, break of 1.4265 will turn bias back to the upside for retesting 1.4667 high.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.2061 is likely resuming whole up trend from 0.9056 (2007 low). Decisive break of 1.4689 will confirm this bullish case. Next medium term target is 161.8% projection of 1.2061 to 1.3664 from 1.2951 at 1.5545. Rejection by 1.4689 will bring some consolidations first. But outlook will remain bullish as long as 1.3664 resistance turned support holds, even in case of deep pull back.

USD/CAD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2740; (P) 1.2767; (R1) 1.2806; More….

USD/CAD’s fall resumed after brief consolidation and reaches as low as 1.2713 so far. Intraday bias is back on the downside. Fall from 1.3124 short term top should target 61.8% retracement of 1.2246 to 1.3124 at 1.2581 next. On the upside, above 1.2818 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral again. But near term outlook will remain bearish as long as 1.2942 resistance holds.

In the bigger picture, current development turns favors to the case that rise from 1.2061 is a corrective three wave pattern. It could have completed at 1.3124 after hitting 38.2% retracement of 1.4689 to 1.2061 at 1.3065. Focus is now back on 1.2061 and 50% retracement of 0.9406 (2011 low) to 1.4689 (2015 high) at 1.2048.

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3266; (P) 1.3305; (R1) 1.3343; More

USD/CAD lost some upside momentum again after hitting 1.3345. But with 1.3177 minor support intact, further rise is expected to 1.3432/3564 resistance zone. On the downside, however, break of 1.3177 support will turn bias back to the downside for retesting 1.3016 low instead.

In the bigger picture, focus stays on 1.3068 cluster support (38.2% retracement of 1.2061 to 1.3664 at 1.3052). Decisive break there will confirm completion of up trend from 1.2061 (2017 low). Further fall should be seen to 61.8% retracement at 1.2673 next. Strong rebound from there will retain medium term bullish. But sustained break of 61.8% retracement of 1.4689 (2016 high) to 1.2061 at 1.3685, is needed to confirm resumption of up trend from 1.2061 (2017 low). Otherwise, risk will stay on the downside.

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2999; (P) 1.3026; (R1) 1.3050; More

Intraday bias in USD/CAD remains neutral at this point. On the upside, decisive break of 1.3081 will be the first sign of completion of whole choppy fall from 1.3385. In that case, near term outlook will be turned bullish for 1.3225 resistance for confirmation. On the downside, below 1.2886 minor support will turn bias to the downside for 1.2781 instead. That would also argue that fall from 1.3385 is still in progress for another low.

In the bigger picture, corrective rebound from 1.2061 could have completed at 1.3385 already. Deeper fall is mildly in favor to 61.8% retracement of 1.2061 to 1.3385 at 1.2567, which is close to 1.2526 support. For now, we’re not seeing fall from 1.3385 as resuming larger down trend from 1.4689 (2015 high) yet. Thus, we’ll look for bottoming signal again below 1.2567 . On the upside, though, break of 1.3081 resistance will argue that the pull back from 1.3385 is completed and rise from 1.2061 is resuming for another high above 1.3385.

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3037; (P) 1.3052; (R1) 1.3073; More….

Intraday bias in USD/CAD stays neutral for the moment. With 1.3102 resistance intact, further decline is expected. On the downside, break of 1.2951 will resume larger decline to 100% projection of 1.3564 to 1.3016 from 1.3327 at 1.2779 next. However, sustained break of 1.3102 will confirm short term bottoming and target 55 day EMA (now at 1.3142) and above.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.2061 (2017 low) could have completed at 1.3664, after failing 61.8% retracement of 1.4689 (2016 high) to 1.2061 at 1.3685. However, structure of price actions from 1.3664 argues that it’s probably just a corrective move. Hence, while further fall is expected, downside should be contained by 61.8% retracement of 1.2061 to 1.364 at 1.2673. Nevertheless, sustained break of 1.2673 will put focus on 1.2061 low.

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3111; (P) 1.3141; (R1) 1.3167; More….

Intraday bias in USD/CAD is turned neutral with current retreat, but further rise will remain in favor as long as 1.3057 minor support holds. on the upside, break of 1.3172 temporary will will target 55 day EMA (now at 1.3203) and above. But still, as long as 1.3389 resistance intact, larger fall from 1.4667 is in favor to resume. Break of 1.3057 minor support will turn bias to the downside for retesting 1.2928 low.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4667 is seen as the third leg of the corrective pattern from 1.4689 (2016 high). Rejection by 55 week EMA is keeping outlook bearish. Sustained break of 61.8% retracement of 1.2061 to 1.4667 at 1.3056 will target a test on 1.2061 (2017 low). But we’d expect loss of downside momentum as it approaches this key support. On the upside, firm break of 1.3389 resistance is needed to indicate medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish in case of rebound.

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3064; (P) 1.3111; (R1) 1.3155; More

Further rise is expected in USD/CAD as long as 1.2969 support holds. The choppy decline from 1.2285 should have completed 1.2781 already. Rise from 1.2781 should target 1.3225 resistance to confirm this bullish case, and pave the way to 1.3385 next. However, break of 1.2969 will mix up the outlook again and turn bias back to the downside.

In the bigger picture, current development revives the case that corrective fall from 1.3385 has completed at 1.2781 already. And whole up trend from 1.2061 (2016 low) is ready to resume. Break of 1.3385 will target 61.8% retracement of 1.4689 (2016 high) to 1.2061 at 1.3685. This will now be the favored case as long as 1.2781 support holds.

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2365; (P) 1.2411; (R1) 1.2440; More

USD/CAD is staying in consolidation from 1.2286 and intraday bias remains neutral first. Outlook is unchanged that in case of stronger recovery, upside should be limited by 1.2497 resistance. On the downside, break of 1.2286 will resume the fall from 1.2947 to 161.8% projection of 1.2947 to 1.2492 from 1.2894 at 1.2158 next. However, firm break of 1.2497 will turn bias back to the upside for stronger rebound.

In the bigger picture, the rejection by 38.2% retracement of 1.4667 to 1.2005 at 1.3022 argues that rebound from 1.2005 is merely a corrective rise, which is complete. More importantly, the down trend from 1.4667 (2020 high) is not over yet. Sustained break of 1.2005 will extend the down trend to next long term fibonacci level at 61.8% retracement of 0.9406 to 1.4689 at 1.1424. In any case, outlook will not turn bullish as long as 1.2947 resistance holds.

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

USD/CAD is staying in range above 1.2005 and intraday bias remains neutral first. We’d continue to stay cautious on strong support from 1.2048/61 to bring reversal. On the upside, break of 1.2201 resistance will indicate short term bottoming and turn bias to the upside for stronger rebound. However, sustained break of 1.2048/61 will carry larger bearish implications.

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3747; (P) 1.3764; (R1) 1.3775; More

Intraday bias in USD/CAD remains mildly on the upside at this point. Correction from 1.3845 might have completed at 1.3589 already. Further rise would be seen to retest 1.3845 high. On the downside, break of 1.3662 support will extend the corrective pattern from 1.3845 with another falling leg instead.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3976 (2022 high) are viewed as a corrective pattern. In case of another fall, strong support should emerge above 1.2947 resistance turned support to bring rebound. Firm break of 1.3976 will confirm up resumption of whole up trend from 1.2005 (2021 low). Next target is 61.8% projection of 1.2401 to 1.3976 from 1.3176 at 1.4149.

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3231; (P) 1.3263; (R1) 1.3301; More

Consolidation from 1.3180 is still in progress and intraday bias stays neutral first. Recovery should be limited by 1.3323 minor resistance to bring another decline. On the downside, break of 1.3180 will resume the fall from 1.3664 and target 61.8% retracement of 1.2781 to 1.3664 at 1.3118. We’ll start to look for bottoming sign below there. On the upside, above 1.3323 will suggest short term bottoming and turn bias back to the upside for stronger rebound.

In the bigger picture, the medium term rise from 1.2061 (2017 low) might continue further. But the structure of such rise is not clearly impulsive so far. Hence, we’d stay cautious on strong resistance from 61.8% retracement of 1.4689 (2016 high) to 1.2061 at 1.3685 and 1.3793 resistance to limit upside, and bring medium term topping. But in any case, medium term outlook will stay bullish as long as channel support (now at 1.2993) holds. Sustained break of 1.3793 will pave the way to retest 1.4689 (2015 high).

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Intraday bias in USD/CAD stays on the downside for the moment. Current down trend from 1.4669 should target 1.2061 long term cluster support next. We’d be cautious on strong support from there to bring reversal. On the upside, break of 1.2265 support turned resistance will turn bias back to the upside for stronger rebound. However, sustained break of 1.2061 will sustained break of 1.2061 will carry larger bearish implications. Next near term target will be 161.8% projection of 1.2880 to 1.2363 from 1.2653 at 1.1816.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4667 is seen as the third leg of the corrective pattern from 1.4689 (2016 high). Further decline should be seen back to 1.2061 (2017 low). We’d look for strong support from there to bring rebound. Nevertheless, sustained break of 1.2653 resistance is needed to be the first sign of medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish in case of strong rebound. Also, sustained break of 1.2061 will pave the way to 61.8% retracement of 0.9406 to 1.4689 at 1.1424.

USD/CAD Weekly Outlook

USD/CAD’s strong rebound last week suggests that a short term bottom was formed at 1.2588, on bullish convergence condition in 4 hour MACD. Rebound from there is in favor to continue as long as 1.2684 minor support holds. Break of 1.2880 will target 1.2994 support turned resistance. However, break of 1.2684 minor support will argue that the rebound has completed and bring retest of 1.2588 low.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4667 is seen as the third leg of the corrective pattern from 1.4689 (2016 high). Further decline should be seen back to 1.2061 (2017 low). In any case, break of 1.3389 resistance is needed to indicate medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish in case of rebound.

In the longer term picture, we’re viewing price actions from 1.4689 as a consolidation pattern. Thus, up trend from 0.9506 (2007 low) is still expected to resume at a later stay. This will remain the favored case as long as 1.2061 support holds, which is close to 50% retracement of 0.9406 to 1.4689 at 1.2048.

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2947; (P) 1.2989; (R1) 1.3029; More….

USD/CAD dropped to as low as 1.2951 so far and there is no sign of bottoming. Intraday bias stays on the downside at this point. Current fall should now target 1.2673 fibonacci level next. ON the upside, above 1.3053 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral, and bring consolidations before staging another decline.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.2061 (2017 low) could have completed at 1.3664, after failing 61.8% retracement of 1.4689 (2016 high) to 1.2061 at 1.3685. With 38.2% retracement of 1.2061 to 1.364 at 1.3052 firmly taken out, further fall should be seen to 61.8% retracement at 1.2673 next. For now, risk will remain on the downside as long as 1.3327 resistance holds, even in case of strong rebound.

USD/CAD Weekly Outlook

USD/CAD edged slightly higher to 1.2485 last week but retreated sharply since then. Downside is so far support by 4 hour 55 EMA (now at 1.2288). Initial bias stays neutral this week first. On the downside, sustained trading below 4 hour 5 EMA will argue that rebound from 1.2005 has completed after failing medium term channel resistance. Intraday bias will be back on the downside for retesting 1.2005. On the upside, above 1.2402 minor resistance will resume the rebound from 1.2005 towards 1.2653 key structural resistance.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4667 is seen as the third leg of the corrective pattern from 1.4689 (2016 high). It might have completed after hitting 1.2061 (2017 low) and 50% retracement of 0.9406 to 1.4689 at 1.2048. Sustained break of 38.2% retracement of 1.4667 to 1.2005 at 1.3022 will pave the way to 61.8% retracement at 1.3650. Overall, medium term outlook remains neutral at worst with 1.2048/61 support zone intact.

However, sustained break of 1.2061 will be a sign of long term bearishness. Deeper fall would be seen to 61.8% retracement at 1.1424 and below.

USD/CAD’s consolidation from 1.3180 is in progress but stays below 1.3323 minor resistance. Intraday bias remains neutral first.
