USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3349; (P) 1.3367; (R1) 1.3396; More….

Intraday bias in USD/CAD remains neutral for the moment as it’s bounded in range of 1.3263/3408. On the upside, above 1.3408 will turn bias to the upside for 1.3534. Break will target 1.3598 high next. On the downside, below 1.3263 will extend the fall from 1.3534. Still, fall from 1.3534 is seen as a correction only. Hence, in that case, we’d expect strong support from 1.3211 cluster level (61.8% retracement of 1.3008 to 1.3534 at 1.3209) to contain downside and bring rebound. Overall, rise from 1.2968 is expected to resume later to extend through the whole medium term rise from 1.2460 through 1.3598.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.4689 medium term top are seen as a correction pattern. The first leg has completed at 1.2460. The second leg is likely still in progress and could target 61.8% retracement of 1.4689 to 1.2460 at 1.3838. We’d look for reversal signal there to start the third leg. Break of 1.2968 wold at least bring at retest of 1.2460 low. However, sustained trading above 1.3838 would pave the way to retest 1.4689 high.

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2075; (P) 1.2096; (R1) 1.2135; More

USD/CAD is staying in tight range above 1.2005 and intraday bias remains neutral at this point. We’d continue to stay cautious on strong support from 1.2048/61 to bring reversal. On the upside, break of 1.2201 resistance will indicate short term bottoming and turn bias to the upside for stronger rebound. However, sustained break of 1.2048/61 will carry larger bearish implications. Next near term target will be 161.8% projection of 1.2880 to 1.2363 from 1.2653 at 1.1816.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4667 is seen as the third leg of the corrective pattern from 1.4689 (2016 high). We’d look for strong support from 1.2061 (2017 low) and 50% retracement of 0.9406 to 1.4689 at 1.2048 to bring rebound. Nevertheless, sustained break of 1.2363 support turned resistance is needed to be the first sign of medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish in case of strong rebound. Also, sustained break of 1.2061 will pave the way to 61.8% retracement of 0.9406 to 1.4689 at 1.1424.

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2533; (P) 1.2561; (R1) 1.2607; More….

USD/CAD’s decline from 1.2919 is still in progress. Intraday bias remains on the downside for 61.8% retracement of 1.2061 to 1.2919 at 1.2389 or possibly below. On the upside, break of 1.2697 minor resistance is needed to indicate short term bottoming. Otherwise, near term outlook will stay mildly bearish in case of recovery.

In the bigger picture, we’re still favoring the case that USD/CAD has defended 50% retracement of 0.9406 (2011 low) to 1.4689 (2016 high) at 1.2048. And with 1.2048 intact, we’d favor the case that fall from 1.4689 is a correction. With that in mind, fall from 1.2919 is viewed as a correction. Hence, we’re not anticipating a break of 1.2061 low. In the long run, USD/CAD should have another medium term rise to take on 38.2% retracement of 1.4689 to 1.2061 at 1.3065.

Break of 1.3164 support indicates resumption of fall from 1.3793. Intraday bias in USD/CAD is turned back to the downside for 1.2968 cluster support, 61.8% retracement of 1.2460 to 1.3793 at 1.2969. Decisive break there will confirm our bearish view that whole corrective rise from 1.2460 has completed at 1.3793. On the upside, break of 1.3346 resistance is needed to indicate short term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish in case of recovery.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.4689 medium term top are seen as a correction pattern. The first leg has completed at 1.2460. Rise from 1.2460 is seen as the second leg and has completed at 1.3793, ahead of 61.8% retracement of 1.4689 to 1.2460 at 1.3838. Break of 1.3222 should now indicate the start of the third leg while further break of 1.2968 should confirm. In that case, USD/CAD should decline through 1.2460 support to 50% retracement of 0.9406 to 1.4869 at 1.2048.

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3003; (P) 1.3050; (R1) 1.3073; More….

USD/CAD breached 1.3018 temporary low but quickly recovered. Initial bias remains neutral first. Further decline is expected with 1.3143 resistance intact. Sustained trading below 1.3052/68 cluster support should confirm medium term reversal. Deeper decline should then be seen to 1.2781 support next. Nevertheless, break of 1.3143 resistance will confirm short term bottoming and bring stronger rebound.

In the bigger picture, the case of bearish reversal continues to build up. Decisive break of 1.3068 cluster support (38.2% retracement of 1.2061 to 1.3664 at 1.3052) will confirm completion of up trend from 1.2061 (2017 low). Further fall should be seen to 61.8% retracement at 1.2673 next. On the upside, sustained break of 61.8% retracement of 1.4689 (2016 high) to 1.2061 at 1.3685, is needed to confirm resumption of up trend from 1.2061 (2017 low). Otherwise, risk will stay on the downside.

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2779; (P) 1.2827; (R1) 1.2856; More….

USD/CAD is staying in consolidation from 1.2916 temporary top and intraday bias remains neutral. In case of deeper fall downside should be contained well above 1.2598 resistance turned support and bring rally resumption. Medium term trend in USD/CAD should have reversed. Break of 1.2916 will extend the rise from 1.2061 to 38.2% retracement of 1.4689 to 1.2061 at 1.3065.

In the bigger picture, USD/CAD should have defended 50% retracement of 0.9406 (2011 low) to 1.4689 (2016 high) at 1.2048. And with 1.2048 intact, we’d favor the case that fall from 1.4689 is a correction. Rise from 1.2061 medium term bottom should now target 38.2% retracement of 1.4689 to 1.2061 at 1.3065. Firm break there will target 1.3793 key resistance next (61.8% retracement at 1.3685). We’ll now hold on to this bullish view as long as 1.2450 support holds.

Intraday bias in USD/CAD stays neutral at this point. Further break of 1.3845 will resume larger rise from 1.3176 towards 1.3976 key resistance next. However, sustained trading below 55 D EMA (now at 1.3618) will argue that whole rise from 1.3176 has completed already, and target 1.3477 support next.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3976 (2022 high) are viewed as a corrective pattern only. In case of another fall, strong support should emerge above 1.2947 resistance turned support to bring rebound. Firm break of 1.3976 will confirm up resumption of whole up trend from 1.2005 (2021 low). Next target is 61.8% projection of 1.2401 to 1.3976 from 1.3176 at 1.4149.

Intraday bias in USD/CAD remains on the downside for the moment. Fall from 1.3327 should extend to retest 1.3042 key support. Decisive break there will carry larger bearish implication. On the upside, above 1.3204 minor resistance will turn bias back to the upside for 1.3327 resistance instead.

In the bigger picture, 38.2% retracement of 1.2061 to 1.364 at 1.3052 remains intact. Medium term rise from 1.2061 low is in favor to resume sooner or later. Firm break of 61.8% retracement of 1.4689 (2016 high) to 1.2061 at 1.3685 will confirm and target 1.4689 high. However, sustained break of 1.3052 will confirm completion of up trend from 1.2061 (2017 low). Further fall should be seen to 61.8% retracement at 1.2673 next.

Intraday bias in USD/CAD remains neutral for the moment with mixed near term outlook. On the upside, break of 1.3387 resistance will confirm that fall from 1.3598 has completed at 1.2968. And more importantly, rise from 1.2460 is still in progress. In that case, intraday bias will be turned back to the upside for 1.3598 and above. On the downside, below 1.2968 will revive the case that rise from 1.2460 is completed and turn outlook bearish for this low. Overall, choppy rise from 1.2460 is still seen as a corrective move.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.4689 medium term top are seen as a correction pattern. The first leg has completed at 1.2460. The second leg could be completed at 1.3598 and fall from there is tentatively seen as the third leg. Break of 1.2460 will target 50% retracement of 0.9460 to 1.4689 at 1.2075 before completing the correction. USD/CAD’s decline and break of 1.3017 support invalidated our bullish view. Instead, the development revived the case that corrective rise from 1.2460 has completed at 1.3598 already, after hitting 50% retracement of 1.4689 to 1.3838. Whole correction from 1.4689 could be starting the third leg. Intraday bias is now back on the downside for a test on 1.2460 low. On the upside, though, break of 1.3168 minor resistance will mix up the outlook again and turn intraday bias neutral first.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.4689 medium term top are seen as a correction pattern. The first leg has completed at 1.2460. USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3456; (P) 1.3480; (R1) 1.3502; More

No change in USD/CAD’s outlook as consolidation from 1.3521 is extending. Intraday bias remains neutral for the moment. Another decline could be seen as consolidation continues. But outlook will remain bullish as long as 1.3274 support holds. On the upside, firm break of 1.3521 will resume the whole rise from 1.3068 to retest 1.3664 high. However, decisive break of 1.3274 support will indicate completion of 1.3068 and turn outlook bearish.

In the bigger picture, USD/CAD is staying well inside medium term rising channel (support at 1.3272). Thus, the up trend from 1.2061 (2017 low) should be in progress. On the upside, decisive break of 61.8% retracement of 1.4689 (2016 high) to 1.2061 at 1.3685 will pave the way to 78.6% retracement at 1.4127 next. This will remain the favored case as long as 1.3068 support holds. However, sustained break the channel support will be the first sign of medium term reversal. Firm break of 1.3068 would confirm.

USD/CAD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3038; (P) 1.3079; (R1) 1.3100; More

USD/CAD breached 1.3059 temporary low but cannot sustained below 1.3052/68 cluster support zone yet. Intraday bias remains neutral first. On the downside, sustained break of 1.3052/68 will carry larger bearish implication and target 1.2673 fibonacci level next. However, break of 1.3151 support turned resistance will indicate short term bottoming and bring rebound back to 1.3239/3432 resistance zone.

In the bigger picture, medium term outlook stays neutral for now even though the case of bearish reversal is building up.

USD/CAD is still bounded in consolidation below 1.3534 and intraday bias remains neutral for the moment. Another fall cannot be ruled out as the consolidation extends. But downside should be contained by 38.2% retracement of 1.3008 to 1.3534 at 1.3333 and bring another rally. Above 1.3534 will turn bias to the upside for retesting 1.3598 high next.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.4689 medium term top are seen as a correction pattern. The first leg has completed at 1.2460. The second leg, started from 1.2460 is likely still in progress and could target 61.8% retracement of 1.4689 to 1.2460 at 1.3838. We’d look for reversal signal there to start the third leg. Break of 1.2968 wold at least bring at retest of 1.2460 low. However, sustained trading above 1.3838 would pave the way to retest 1.4689 high.

USD/CAD’s decline resumed by breaking through 1.3320 and intraday bias is back on the downside. Fall from 1.3704 would target 1.3224 key support level. Strong support is still expected from there to bring rebound. But decisive break would carry larger bearish implication. On the upside, above 1.3426 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral first.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.3222 cluster support (38.2% retracement of 1.2005 to 1.3976 at 1.3223) holds, larger up trend from 1.2005 (2021 low) is still expected to resume through 1.3976 high at a later stage. However, firm break of 1.3222/3 will indicate that the trend might have reversed. Deeper fall would be seen to next cluster support at 1.2726 (61.8% retracement at 1.2758).

Prior breach of 1.3408 minor resistance argues that rebound from 1.3263 is resuming. Intraday bias is mildly on the upside for 1.3534 resistance. Break will target 1.3598 key resistance next. On the downside, below 1.3320 minor support will turn bias to the downside to extend the fall from 1.3534. But we’d expect strong support from 1.3211 cluster level (61.8% retracement of 1.3008 to 1.3534 at 1.3209) to contain downside and bring rebound. Overall, rise from 1.2968 is expected to resume later to extend through the whole medium term rise from 1.2460 through 1.3598.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.4689 medium term top are seen as a correction pattern. The first leg has completed at 1.2460. Intraday bias in USD/CAD remains neutral at this point. The corrective rise from 1.2412 might still extend higher. But based on current momentum, upside should be limited by 38.2% retracement of 1.3793 to 1.2412 at 1.2940 to bring fall resumption. On the downside, below 1.2552 minor support will argue that the recovery is completed and turn bias back to the downside for retesting 1.2412.

Nonetheless, on the upside, sustained break of 1.2968, 38.2% retracement of 1.3793 to 1.2412 at 1.2940 will be the first sign of completion of the correction and will turn focus back to 1.3793 key resistance.

USD/CAD fell to 1.3602 last week but recovered ahead of 1.3589 support. Initial bias remains neutral this week first. Corrective pattern from 1.3845 could still extend. Break of 1.3589 will target 100% projection of 1.3845 to 1.3589 from 1.3790 at 1.3534. Strong support would be seen there to bring rebound. On the upside, above 1.3686 minor resistance will turn bias back to the upside for 1.3790 resistance instead.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3976 (2022 high) are viewed as a corrective pattern.

USD/CAD’s fall from 1.3534 resumed by taking out 1.3275 and reaches as low as 1.3263 so far. Intraday bias is back on the downside for 1.3211 cluster level (61.8% retracement of 1.3008 to 1.3534 at 1.3209). As such decline is viewed as a correction pattern, we’d expect downside to be contained by 1.3209/11 to bring rebound. On the upside, break of 1.3377 resistance will turn bias back to the upside for 1.3534 resistance and then 1.3598. However, sustained break of 1.3211 will dampen this view and target 1.2968 key support level next.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.4689 medium term top are seen as a correction pattern. The first leg has completed at 1.2460. USD/CAD’s rebound from 1.2061 is still in progress. Intraday bias remains on the upside for 1.2777 resistance first. As noted before, current development argues that the pair has successfully defended 1.2048 fibonacci level. Decisive break of 1.2777 will target 38.2% retracement of 1.4689 to 1.2061 at 1.3065 next. However, break of 1.2326 will dampen this bullish view and turn bias back to the downside for 1.2061 instead.

And with 1.2048 intact, we’d favor the case that fall from 1.4689 is a correction. Break of 1.2777 will further affirm this bullish case. That is, larger up trend from 0.9406 is not completed. However, on the other hand, firm break of 1.2048 will indicate that fall from 1.4689 is at least a medium term down trend and should target 61.8% retracement at 1.1424 and below.
