GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2737; (P) 1.2777; (R1) 1.2810; More…..

Range trading continues in GBP/USD and intraday bias stays neutral for the moment. Further rise is in favor as long as 1.2693 support holds. Above 1.2816 will resume the rally from 1.2298 to 1.2892 resistance next. On the downside, break of 1.2693 minor support will turn intraday bias to the downside for deeper pullback instead.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern. Fall from 1.2892 is seen as the third leg which might have completed already. Break of 1.2892 resistance will argue that larger up trend from 1.0351(2022 low) is ready to resume through 1.3141. Meanwhile, break of 1.2445 support will extend the corrective pattern with another decline instead.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD’s decline from 1.2647 last week was contained well above 1.2164 support. There is no confirmation of topping yet. Initial bias remains neutral this week first. On the downside, break of 1.2164 will indicate completion of rebound from 1.1409. Intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for retesting 1.1409 low. On the upside, break of 1.2647 will extend the rebound instead.

In the bigger picture, while the rebound from 1.1409 is strong, there is no indication of trend reversal yet. Down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) should still resume sooner or later. Next medium term target will be 61.8% projection of 1.7190 to 1.1946 from 1.3514 at 1.0273. In any case, outlook will remain bearish as long as 1.3514 resistance holds, in case of strong rebound.

In the longer term picture, long term outlook remains clearly bearish, as it’s held well below long term falling trend line that started back at 2116 (2007 high). Rejection by 55 month EMA also affirmed bearishness. Break of 1.1946 will target 61.8% projection of 1.7190 to 1.1946 from 1.3514 at 1.0273.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3224; (P) 1.3318; (R1) 1.3390; More

GBP/USD is staying in range below 1.3539 and intraday bias remains neutral first. On the downside, break of 1.3223 will target 55 day EMA (now at 1.3181) first. Sustained break there will confirm another rejection by 1.3514 key resistance. Deeper fall should be seen back to 1.2675 support next. However, firm break of 1.3539 will resume larger rally from 1.1409.

In the bigger picture, focus stays on 1.3514 key resistance. Decisive break there should also come with sustained trading above 55 month EMA (now at 1.3308). That should confirm medium term bottoming at 1.1409. Outlook will be turned bullish for 1.4376 resistance and above. Nevertheless, rejection by 1.3514 will maintain medium term bearishness for another lower below 1.1409 at a later stage.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2656; (P) 1.2686; (R1) 1.2729; More….

Current development suggests that a short term bottom is formed at 1.2559 on bullish convergence condition in 4 hour MACD. Stronger rebound could be seen. But upside should be limited by 1.2865 support turned resistance to bring fall resumption. On the downside, break of 1.2559 will extend the decline from 1.3381 for 1.2391 low first. However, sustained break of 1.2865 will indicate completion of fall from 1.3381. In that case, corrective pattern from 1.2391 would be in another rising leg through 1.3381 resistance.

In the bigger picture, medium term decline from 1.4376 (2018 high) is possibly ready to resume. Decisive break of 1.2391 would target a test on 1.1946 long term bottom (2016 low). For now, we don’t expect a firm break there yet. Hence focus will be on bottoming signal as it approaches 1.1946. In any case, medium term outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.3381 resistance holds, in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2636; (P) 1.2666; (R1) 1.2720; More…

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral as consolidation from 1.2793 is extending. Further rally is still expected as long as 1.2499 support holds. On the upside, firm break of 1.2793 will resume the rally from 1.2036. Next target is 61.8% projection of 1.2068 to 1.2731 from 1.2499 at 1.2909.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern to rise from 1.0351 (2022 low). Rise from 1.2036 is seen as the second leg that’s in progress. Upside should be limited by 1.3141 to bring the third leg of the pattern. Meanwhile, break of 1.2499 support will argue that the third leg has already started for 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 (2022 low) to 1.3141 at 1.2075 again.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2424; (P) 1.2520; (R1) 1.2582; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral and outlook is unchanged. On the upside, above 1.2666 will resume the rebound from 1.2154. Sustained of 55 day EMA (now at 1.2729) will target 1.2999 support turned resistance. On the downside, though, break of 1.2457 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for retesting 1.2154 low instead.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4248 (2018 high) could be a leg inside the pattern from 1.1409 (2020 low), or resuming the longer term down trend. Deeper decline is expected as long as 1.2999 support turned resistance holds. On resumption, next target is 1.1409 low.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3826; (P) 1.3877; (R1) 1.3939; More….

While GBP/USD’s recovery from 1.3711 extends, there is no sign of pick up in momentum. The pair is also bounded inside near term falling channel. Such rebound is viewed as a corrective move and intraday bias stays neutral, with mild bearish near term outlook. On the downside, break of 1.3711 will extend the fall from 1.4345 through 1.3651 resistance turned support. We’ll look for strong support from 38.2% retracement of 1.1946 to 1.4345 at 1.3429 to contain downside and bring rebound. This will be the preferred case as long as 1.4144 resistance holds.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.3038 support holds, medium term outlook in GBP/USD will remains bullish. Rise from 1.1946 is at least correcting the long term down from 2007 high at 2.1161. Further rally would be seen back to 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1946 (2016 low) at 1.5466. However, GBP/USD fails to sustain above 55 month EMA (now at 1.4259) so far. Break of 1.3038 support, will suggest that rise from 1.1946 has completed and will turn outlook bearish for retesting this low.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3093; (P) 1.3115; (R1) 1.3137; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral as consolidation from 1.2999 is extending. Further decline is mildly in favor with 1.3297 resistance intact. On the downside, firm break of 1.2999 will resume larger down trend from 1.4248. However, firm break of 1.3297 will turn bias back to the upside for stronger rebound.

In the bigger picture, current development suggests that the up trend from 1.1409 (2020 low) has completed at 1.4248. Decline from 1.4248 could still be a corrective move, or it could be the start of a long term down trend. In either case, deeper decline would be seen back to 61.8% retracement of 2.1161 to 1.1409 at 1.2493. In any case, break of 1.3748 resistance is needed to indicate medium term bottoming, or outlook will stay bearish.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3892; (P) 1.3942; (R1) 1.4011; More….

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the upside for 1.4144 resistance. Current development suggests that corrective pull back from 1.4345 has completed at 1.3711 already. Break of 1.4144 should confirm this bullish case and target 1.4345 high and above. On the downside, below 1.3840 minor support will turn bias to the downside to extend the corrective fall from 1.4345 instead.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2536; (P) 1.2655; (R1) 1.2729; More….

Outlook in GBP/USD remains bearish with 1.2814 resistance intact. The down trend from 1.4376 has just resumed and should target 61.8% projection of 1.4376 to 1.2661 from 1.3174 at 1.2114 next. On the upside, break of 1.2814 resistance is needed to indicate trend reversal. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish in case of recovery.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA. The structure and momentum of the fall from 1.4376 argues that it’s resuming long term down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high). And this will now remain the preferred case as long as 1.3174 structural resistance holds. GBP/USD should target a test on 1.1946 first. Decisive break there will confirm our bearish view.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2337; (P) 1.2421; (R1) 1.2583; More…

GBP/USD retreat slightly after edging higher to 1.2504 and intraday bias is turned neutral first. Some consolidations could be seen. But downside should be contained well above 1.2185 support to bring another rally. On the upside, break of 1.2504 will resume the whole rebound from 1.2036. Sustained trading above 38.2% retracement of 1.3141 to 1.2036 at 1.2458 will pave the way to 61.8% retracement at 1.2716.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 are seen as a corrective pattern to rise from 1.0351 (2022 low). Strong rebound from 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 (2022 low) to 1.3141 at 1.2075 will argue that current rise from 1.2036 is already the second leg. However, while further rally could be seen, upside should be limited by 1.3141 to bring the third leg of the pattern.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3579; (P) 1.3609; (R1) 1.3632; More

No change in GBP/USD’s outlook and intraday bias remains neutral for the moment. On the upside, break of 1.3642 will resume the rebound from 1.3356 to 1.3748 resistance. Firm break there will revive the bullish case that correction from 1.4248 has completed with three waves down to 1.3158. Further rally should then be seen to retest 1.4248 high. On the downside, though, break of 1.3485 will turn bias to the downside for 1.3356 support instead.

In the bigger picture, as long as 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.3164 holds, up trend from 1.1409 (2020 low) is still in progress. On resumption, next target will be 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 to 1.1409 at 1.5134. Nevertheless sustained break of 1.3164 will argue that whole rise from 1.1409 has completed and bring deeper fall to 61.8% retracement at 1.2493.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3113; (P) 1.3168; (R1) 1.3245; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remain son the upside for 1.3267 resistance. Break there will resume whole rise from 1.1946 and target 1.3444 key resistance next. But again, price actions from 1.1946 are still seen as a corrective pattern. Hence, we’d expect strong resistance from 1.3444 to limit upside to bring larger down trend reversal eventually. On the downside, below 1.3114 minor support will turn intraday bias neutral first.

In the bigger picture, overall, price actions from 1.1946 medium term low are seen as a corrective pattern. While further rise cannot be ruled out, larger outlook remains bearish as long as 1.3444 key resistance holds. Down trend from 1.7190 (2014 high) is expected to resume later after the correction completes. And break of 1.2773 support will be the first sign that such down trend is resuming.

GBP/USD’s rally resume after brief consolidation an reaches as high as 1.4274 so far. Intraday bias is back on the upside for 1.4345 high next. Firm break there will resume medium term rally and target 61.8% projection of 1.3038 to 1.4345 from 1.3711 at 1.4519 next. On the downside, below 1.4220 minor support will turn intraday bias neutral again. But retreat should be contained well above 1.3964 support to bring another rally.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.3651 resistance turned support holds, medium term outlook in GBP/USD will remain bullish. Rise from 1.1946 is at least correcting the long term down trend from 2007 high at 2.1161. Further rally would be seen back to 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1946 (2016 low) at 1.5466. However, GBP/USD fails to sustain above 55 month EMA (now at 1.4267) so far. Break of 1.3651 will be the first sign of medium term reversal and turn focus to 1.3038 support for confirmation.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Intraday bias in GBP/USD is turned neutral again as it retreats sharply after hitting 1.3229. Some consolidations could be seen first, but downside should be contained by 1.3012 resistance turned support to bring rise resumption. On the upside, break of 1.3229 will resume the rise from 1.1958 to 1.3381 resistance next. However, firm break of 1.3012 will confirm short term topping and target 1.2827 support, and possibly below.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.1958 medium term bottom is seen as the third leg of consolidation from 1.1946. Further rise would be seen back towards 1.4376 resistance. For now, this will remain the favored case as long as 1.2582 resistance turned support holds. However, firm break of 1.2582 will turn focus back to 1.1946 low.

GBP/USD is staying in consolidation above 1.2065 and intraday bias remains neutral. Outlook remains bearish as long as 1.2467 resistance holds. Rebound form 1.1409 should have completed. On the downside, break of 1.2065 will pave the way to retest 1.1409 low. Nevertheless, on the upside, break of 1.2467 will turn bias to the upside for 1.2647 resistance.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2685; (P) 1.2744; (R1) 1.2776; More….

With 1.2795 minor resistance intact, intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the downside. Current fall from 1.3381 is in progress for retesting 1.2391 low. Larger decline from 1.4376 might be resuming. Break of 1.2391 will target 61.8% projection of 1.4376 to 1.2391 from 1.3381 at 1.2154 next. On the upside, above 1.2795 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral for consolidation first before staging another decline.

In the bigger picture, current development suggests that medium term decline from 1.4376 (2018 high) is not completed, and is possibly ready to resume. Decisive break of 1.2391 would target a test on 1.1946 long term bottom (2016 low). For now, we don’t expect a firm break there yet. Hence focus will be on bottoming signal as it approaches 1.1946. In any case, medium term outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.3381 resistance holds, in case of rebound.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2668; (P) 1.2711; (R1) 1.2746; More

GBP/USD is staying in established range despite today’s recovery. Intraday bias remains neutral for the moment. On the downside, firm break of 1.2618, and sustained trading below 1.2678 resistance turned support will argue that it’s already in a larger correction. Deeper decline would then be seen to 1.2306 support next. Nevertheless, break of 1.2817 minor resistance will indicate that the pull back has completed, and turn bias back to the upside for stronger rebound.

In the bigger picture, a medium term top could be in place at 1.3141 already, on bearish divergence condition in D MACD. Sustained trading below 55 D EMA (now at 1.2723) should confirm this case, and bring deeper fall to 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.3141 at 1.2075, as a correction to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low). For now, rise will stay mildly on the downside as long as 1.3141 resistance holds, in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3316; (P) 1.3362; (R1) 1.3451; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD stays neutral and sideway trading continues. Further decline is expected with 1.3485 support turned resistance intact. On the downside, break of 1.3272 will target 1.3158 low. Further break there will resume larger down trend from 1.4248. However, firm break of 1.3485 will dampen this bearish view and turn bias back to the upside for 1.3641 resistance.

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3149; (P) 1.3175; (R1) 1.3217; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD is mildly on the upside as rebound from 1.2956 is extending. Nonetheless, as it’s seen as a corrective move, upside should be limited below 1.3362 resistance to bring fall resumption eventually. On the downside, below 1.3070 minor support will bring retest of 1.2956 first. Break of 1.2956 low will resume the decline from 1.4376 to 1.2874 fibonacci level.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA (now at 1.4179). Fall from 1.4376 should extend to 61.8% retracement of 1.1946 (2016 low) to 1.4376 at 1.2874 next. Decisive break of 1.2874 will raise the chance of long term down trend resumption through 1.1946 low. On the upside, break of 1.3362 resistance is needed to be the first indication of medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish even in case of strong rebound.
