GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2185; (P) 1.2256; (R1) 1.2302; More

GBP/USD is staying in range below 1.2485 and intraday bias remains neutral first. On the downside, break of 1.2144 minor support will suggest completion of the rebound from 1.1409 and turn bias to the downside for retesting 1.1409 low. On the upside, sustained break of 61.8% retracement of 1.3200 to 1.1409 at 1.2516 will raise the chance of larger reversal and turn focus to 1.3200 resistance first.

In the bigger picture, down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) is still in progress. Next medium term target will be 61.8% projection of 1.7190 to 1.1946 from 1.3514 at 1.0273. In any case, outlook will remain bearish as long as 1.3514 resistance holds, in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD’s corrective recovery from 1.2014 could have completed earlier than expected last week at 1.2309. Initial bias is mildly on the downside this week for retesting 1.2014. Break will resume larger down trend fro 1.1946 low. On the upside, above 1.2309 will resume the corrective rise from 1.2014. But upside should be limited by 38.2% retracement of 1.3381 to 1.2014 at 1.2536 to bring down trend resumption eventually.

In the bigger picture, down trend from 1.4376 (2018 high) is extending towards 1.1946 low. We’d be cautious on bottoming there. But decisive break will resume down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) to 61.8% projection of 1.7190 to 1.1946 from 1.4376 at 1.1135. In any case, medium term outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.3381 resistance holds, in case of strong rebound.

In the longer term picture, corrective rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) was rejected by 55 month EMA. Long term outlook remains bearish. Firm break of 1.1946 will indicate resumption of down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high). Next target is 61.8% projection of 1.7190 to 1.1946 from 1.4376 at 1.1135.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2291; (P) 1.2339; (R1) 1.2370; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD is turned neutral first with current recovery. But further fall is expected as long as 1.2468 resistance holds. Decline from 1.2678 is seen as correcting whole up trend from 1.0351. Break of 1.2306 will target 1.1801 cluster support (38.2% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.2678 at 1.1789). On the upside, above 1.2468 minor resistance will turn bias back to the upside for stronger rebound.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.1801 support holds, rise from 1.0351 medium term bottom (2022 low) is expected to extend further. Sustained break of 61.8% retracement of 1.4248 (2021 high) to 1.0351 at 1.2759 will add to the case of long term bullish trend reversal. However, firm break of 1.1801 will indicate rejection by 1.2759, and bring deeper decline, even as a correction.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3294; (P) 1.3358; (R1) 1.3396; More….

GBP?USD’s corrective from 1.3514 extends lower today but stays above 1.3050 support. Intraday bias remains neutral first. We’d still expect 1.3050 to hold to bring rise resumption. On the upside, above 1.3514 will extend the rally from 1.1958 to 100% projection of 1.2195 to 1.3012 from 1.2827 at 1.3644 first. Break will target 161.8% projection at 1.4149 next. However, firm break of 1.3050 will indicate short term topping and bring deeper fall to 1.2827 support, and possibly below.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.1958 medium term bottom is on track to retest 1.4376 key resistance. Reactions from there would decide whether it’s in consolidation from 1.1946 (2016 low). Or, firm break of 1.4376 will indicate long term bullish reversal. In any case, for now, outlook will stay bullish as long as 1.2827 support holds.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2904; (P) 1.2934; (R1) 1.2957; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral for the moment. Outlook stays bearish with 1.3030 resistance intact. We’re favoring the case that correction from 1.1946 is completed at 1.3267. Below 1.2852 minor support will turn intraday bias back to the downside for 1.2588 key near term support first. Decisive break of 1.2588 will confirm our view and target a test on 1.1946 low. Though, break of 1.3030 will dampen this bearish view and turn bias back to the upside for retesting 1.3267.

In the bigger picture, overall, price actions from 1.1946 medium term low are seen as a corrective pattern. While further rise cannot be ruled out, larger outlook remains bearish as long as 1.3444 key resistance holds. Down trend from 1.7190 (2014 high) is expected to resume later after the correction completes. And break of 1.2588 will indicate that such down trend is resuming.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2617; (P) 1.2668; (R1) 1.2713; More….

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the downside for the moment. Current decline from 1.3381 should target 1.2391 low. Larger decline from 1.4376 might be resuming. Break of 1.2391 will target 61.8% projection of 1.4376 to 1.2391 from 1.3381 at 1.2154 next. On the upside, above 1.2812 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral again for more consolidation first.

In the bigger picture, current development suggests that medium term decline from 1.4376 (2018 high) is not completed, and is possibly ready to resume. Decisive break of 1.2391 would target a test on 1.1946 long term bottom (2016 low). For now, we don’t expect a firm break there yet. Hence focus will be on bottoming signal as it approaches 1.1946. In any case, medium term outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.3381 resistance holds, in case of rebound.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2445; (P) 1.2498; (R1) 1.2546; More…

GBP/USD is staying in consolidation below 1.2557 and intraday bias stays neutral. While deeper retreat might be seen, further rally is expected as long as 1.2372 support holds. Above 1.2557 will resume the rise from 1.2036, and target 61.8% retracement of 1.3141 to 1.2036 at 1.2716 next.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 are seen as a corrective pattern to rise from 1.0351 (2022 low). Strong rebound from 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 (2022 low) to 1.3141 at 1.2075 argues that current rise from 1.2036 is the second leg. However, while further rally could be seen, upside should be limited by 1.3141 to bring the third leg of the pattern.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD’s rally extended last week with weak momentum. Overall outlook is unchanged. Price actions from 1.1946 are seen as a corrective pattern. Considering bearish divergence condition in 4 hour MACD, we’d stay cautious on strong resistance from 61.8% projection of 1.2108 to 1.3047 from 1.2588 at 1.3168 to limit upside. Break of 1.2932 support will be the first sign of reversal and will turn bias to the downside to target 1.2588 key support next. Though, sustained break of 1.3168 will bring further rise towards 1.3444 before completing the correction.

In the bigger picture, overall, price actions from 1.1946 medium term low are seen as a corrective pattern that is still in progress. While further upside is expected, larger outlook remains bearish as long as 1.3444 key resistance holds. Down trend from 1.7190 (2014 high) is expected to resume later after the correction completes. And break of 1.2588 will indicate that such down trend is resuming.

In the longer term picture, no change in the view that down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) is still in progress. On resumption, such decline would extend deeper to 100% projection of 2.1161 to 1.3503 from 1.7190 at 0.9532. However, firm break of 1.3444 should confirm reversal and turn outlook bullish.

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral for consolidation above 1.2200. Overall outlook is unchanged. That is, corrective rise from 1.1946 has completed at 1.2774. Recovery from 1.2200 should be limited 1.2509 resistance and bring fall resumption. Below 1.2200 will target a test on 1.1946 low. Decisive break there will confirm larger down trend resumption.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.7190 is seen as part of the down trend from 2.1161. There is no sign of medium term bottoming yet. Sustained trading below 61.8% projection of 2.1161 to 1.3503 from 1.7190 at 1.2457 will target 100% projection at 0.9532. Overall, break of 1.3444 resistance is needed to confirm medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2174; (P) 1.2216; (R1) 1.2290; More

GBP/USD is staying in range of 1.2036/2336 despite current recovery. Intraday bias remains neutral for the moment, and downside breakout is mildly in favor. On the downside, decisive break of 1.2036 will resume whole decline from 1.3141 for 1.1801 support next. However, break of 1.2336 will turn bias back to the upside for 38.2% retracement of 1.3141 to 1.2036 at 1.2458.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.3141 medium term top could still be a correction to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low) only. But risk of complete trend reversal is rising. Sustained break of 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.3141 at 1.2075 will pave the way to 61.8% retracement at 1.1417. For now, risk will stay on the downside as long as 55 D EMA (now at 1.2384) holds, in case of rebound.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2608; (P) 1.2626; (R1) 1.2643; More…

GBP/USD’s fall from 1.2892 resumed by breaking 1.2574 support. Intraday bias is back on the downside for 1.2517 structural support first. Decisive break there will suggest that rise from 1.2036 has completed at 1.2892 already, and turn near term outlook bearish. For now, risk will stay on the downside as long as 1.2667 resistance holds, in case of recovery.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low). Rise from 1.2036 is seen as the second leg, which might still be in progress. But upside should be limited by 1.3141 to bring the third leg of the pattern. Meanwhile, break of 1.2517 support will argue that the third leg has already started for 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 (2022 low) to 1.3141 at 1.2075 again.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3272; (P) 1.3335; (R1) 1.3376; More

GBP/USD rebound notably today but it’s limited below yesterday’s high at 1.3397 so far. Outlook remains unchanged too. Above 1.3397 will extend the corrective rise from 1.3203. But upside should be limited by 1.3617 resistance to bring reversal. On the downside, break of 1.3253 minor support will likely resume the fall from 1.47376 through 1.3203 for 50% retracement of 1.1946 to 1.4376 at 1.3161 first, and 61.8% retracement at 1.2875 next.

In the bigger picture, current development suggests that whole medium term rebound from 1.1936 (2016 low) has completed at 1.4376 already, with trend line broken firmly, on bearish divergence condition in daily MACD, after rejection from 55 month EMA (now at 1.4223). 61.8% retracement of 1.1936 (2016 low) to 1.4376 at 1.2874 is the next target. We’ll pay attention to the reaction from there to asses the chance of long term down trend resumption. For now, outlook will stay bearish as long as 55 day EMA (now at 1.3648) holds, even in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD’s corrective rise from 1.2773 extended higher last week but stayed below 1.3030 resistance. Outlook remains unchanged and initial bias remains neutral first.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD’s strong rally last week suggests that corrective decline from 1.3381 has completed at 1.2865 already. Also, 1.2774 key support level was defended. Rise from 1.2391 is likely in progress. Intraday bias is now on the upside this week for retesting 1.3381 high. On the downside, below 1.2987 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for 1.2865 support instead..

In the bigger picture, medium term decline from 1.4376 (2018 high) halted and made a medium term bottom after hitting 1.2391. Rebound from 1.2391 is seen as a corrective move for now. In case of another rise, strong resistance could be seen around 61.8% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2391 at 1.3618 to limit upside. On the downside, break of 1.2773 support will suggests that such corrective rise is completed and bring retest of 1.2391 low first.

In the longer term picture, consolidative pattern from 1.1946 (2016 low) is still in progress. For now, we’d expect any downside attempt to be contained by 1.1946 low first. But decisive break of 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1946 at 1.5466 is needed to indicate long term reversal. Otherwise, an eventual downside breakout will remain in favor.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2737; (P) 1.2777; (R1) 1.2810; More…..

Intraday bias in GBP/USD is turned neutral with current retreat and some consolidations could be seen below 1.2816. Further rise is in favor as long as 1.2693 support holds. Above 1.2816 will resume the rally from 1.2298 to 1.2892 resistance next. On the downside, break of 1.2693 minor support will turn intraday bias to the downside for deeper pullback instead.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern. Fall from 1.2892 is seen as the third leg which might have completed already. Break of 1.2892 resistance will argue that larger up trend from 1.0351(2022 low) is ready to resume through 1.3141. Meanwhile, break of 1.2445 support will extend the corrective pattern with another decline instead.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2500; (P) 1.2549; (R1) 1.2585; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral as range trading continues. On the downside, break of 1.2429 support suggest that rebound from 1.2154 has completed. Intraday bias will be back on the downside for resting this low. On the upside, above 1.2666 will target 55 day EMA (now at 1.2698) and above.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4248 (2018 high) could be a leg inside the pattern from 1.1409 (2020 low), or resuming the longer term down trend. Deeper decline is expected as long as 1.2999 support turned resistance holds. On resumption, next target is 1.1409 low.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2855; (P) 1.2893; (R1) 1.2958; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral as it’s still bounded in range below 1.2965 temporary top. Further rise remains in favor with 1.2755 support intact. Break of 1.2965 will target 161.8% projection of 1.2108 to 1.2614 from 1.2365 at 1.3184. At this point, price actions from 1.1946 are still seen as a correction pattern. Therefore, we’d expect strong resistance below 1.3444 to bring larger down trend resumption. On the downside, break of 1.2755 minor support will turn bias to the downside. Further break of 1.2614 resistance turned support will now indicate near term reversal.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.7190 is seen as part of the down trend from 2.1161. There is no sign of medium term reversal yet. Sustained trading below 61.8% projection of 2.1161 to 1.3503 from 1.7190 at 1.2457 will target 100% projection at 0.9532. A temporary top is in place at 1.3223 in GBP/USD and intraday bias is turned neutral first. Further rally is expected as long as 1.3032 support holds. Above 1.3223 will target 1.3267 first. Break will resume whole rise from 1.1946 and target 1.3444 key resistance next. But again, price actions from 1.1946 are still seen as a corrective pattern. Hence, we’d expect strong resistance from 1.3444 to limit upside to bring larger down trend reversal eventually. On the downside, break of 1.3032 will indicate near term reversal and turn bias back to the downside for 1.2773 support instead.

In the bigger picture, overall, price actions from 1.1946 medium term low are seen as a corrective pattern. While further rise cannot be ruled out, larger outlook remains bearish as long as 1.3444 key resistance holds. GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2557; (P) 1.2606; (R1) 1.2652; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD stays neutral at this point. On the upside, above 1.2666 will resume the rebound from 1.2154. Sustained of 55 day EMA (now at 1.2741) will target 1.2999 support turned resistance. On the downside, though, break of 1.2480 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for retesting 1.2154 low instead.

With 1.2188 minor support intact, rebound from 1.1986 could extend higher through 1.2432 resistance. But still, such rise is seen as the third leg of the consolidation pattern from 1.1946. Thus, we’d expect strong resistance at 1.2774 to limit upside and bring down trend resumption eventually. On the downside, below 1.2188 minor support will turn bias to the downside for retesting 1.1946 low.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.7190 is seen as part of the down trend from 2.1161. There is no sign of medium term bottoming yet.
