Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3853; (P) 1.3896; (R1) 1.3922; More….

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral with focus on 1.3859 minor support. Break will indicate that fall from 1.4248 is likely resuming. Such decline is seen as the third leg of the consolidation pattern from 1.4240, and should target 1.3668 support and possibly below. On the upside, break of 1.4000 will turn bias back to the upside for retesting 1.4240/8 resistance zone instead.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.3482 resistance turned support holds, up trend from 1.1409 should still continue. Decisive break of 1.4376 resistance will carry larger bullish implications and target 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1409 (2020 low) at 1.5134. However, firm break of 1.3482 support will argue that the rise from 1.1409 has completed and bring deeper fall to 1.2675 support and below.

GBP/USD’s rise extends to as high as 1.4214 so far. Intraday bias remains on the upside for 1.4243 resistance and then 1.4345 high. Firm break of 1.4345 will resume medium term rally and target 61.8% projection of 1.3038 to 1.4345 from 1.3711 at 1.4519 next. On the downside, below 1.4144 minor support will turn intraday bias neutral first. But outlook will stay cautiously bullish as long as 1.3964 support holds in case of retreat.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.3651 resistance turned support holds, medium term outlook in GBP/USD will remain bullish. Rise from 1.1946 is at least correcting the long term down trend from 2007 high at 2.1161. Further rally would be seen back to 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1946 (2016 low) at 1.5466. However, GBP/USD fails to sustain above 55 month EMA (now at 1.4267) so far. Break of 1.3651 will be the first sign of medium term reversal and turn focus to 1.3038 support for confirmation.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2650; (P) 1.2690; (R1) 1.2723; More…

GBP/USD is still bounded in range of 1.2611/2826 and intraday bias remains neutral first. On the downside, break of 1.2611 will indicate short term topping, and turn bias back to the downside for 1.2499 support. On the upside, however, above 1.2729 will bring retest of 1.2826 first. Firm break there will resume whole rally from 1.2036.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern to rise from 1.0351 (2022 low). Rise from 1.2036 is seen as the second leg that’s in progress. Upside should be limited by 1.3141 to bring the third leg of the pattern. Meanwhile, break of 1.2499 support will argue that the third leg has already started for 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 (2022 low) to 1.3141 at 1.2075 again.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/.USD edged higher to 1.3185 last week but quickly retreated. Initial bias is neutral first. Further rise could still be seen as long as 1.2982 support holds. Break of 1.3815 will target 100% projection of 1.1409 to 1.2647 from 1.2065 at 1.3303. However, break of 1.2982 support should confirm short term topping. Intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for 1.2813 resistance turned support.

In the bigger picture, while the rebound from 1.1409 is strong, there is not enough evidence for trend reversal yet. Down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) should still resume sooner or later. However, decisive break of 1.3514 should at least confirm medium term bottoming and turn outlook bullish for 1.4376 resistance first.

In the longer term picture, long term outlook remains clearly bearish, as it’s held well below long term falling trend line that started back at 2116 (2007 high). Prior rejections by 55 month EMA also affirmed bearishness. Further fall is expected as long as 1.3514 resistance holds.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD edged higher to 1.3267 last week but quickly retreated. Initial bias is neutral this week first. Further rise is mildly in favor as long as 1.3005 support holds. Firm break of 100% projection of 1.1409 to 1.2647 from 1.2065 at 1.3303 will pave the way to 1.3514 structural resistance next. However, considering bearish divergence condition in 4 hour MACD, break of 1.3006 should confirm short term topping. Intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for 55 day EMA (now at 1.2817).

Decisive break there will resume larger up trend and target 61.8% projection of 1.3038 to 1.4345 from 1.3711 at 1.4519 next. On the downside, however, firm break of 1.3982 will indicate completion of rebound from 1.3711. In that case, intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for retesting 1.3711.

GBP/USD’s break of 1.2210 minor support suggests that recovery from 1.2036 has completed at 1.2336, after hitting falling channel resistance. Intraday bias is back on the downside for retesting 1.2036 low. Decisive break there will resume larger fall from 1.3141. On the upside, above 1.2336 minor resistance will resume the rebound instead.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.3141 medium term top could still be a correction to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low) only. But risk of complete trend reversal is rising. Sustained break of 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.3141 at 1.2075 will pave the way to 61.8% retracement at 1.1417. For now, risk will stay on the downside as long as 55 D EMA (now at 1.2420) holds, in case of rebound.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

A temporary top is in place at 1.2935 with the current retreat. Intraday bias in GBP/USD is turned neutral first. Rebound from 1.2661 is seen as a corrective move. We’d expect upside to be limited by 1.2956 support turned resistance to bring larger down trend resumption. On the downside, below 1.2811 minor support will turn bias to the downside for retesting 1.2661 low first. However, decisive break of 1.2956 will turn focus to 1.3212 key resistance instead.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA (now at 1.4091). Current downside acceleration argues that it’s possibly resuming long term down trend. In any case, outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.3212 resistance holds. Retest of 1.1946 should be seen next.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2306; (P) 1.2363; (R1) 1.2438; More

Intraday bias in GBP/UISD remains neutral as it’s staying in range below 1.2485. On the downside, break of 1.2144 minor support will suggest completion of the rebound from 1.1409 and turn bias to the downside for retesting 1.1409 low. On the upside, sustained break of 61.8% retracement of 1.3200 to 1.1409 at 1.2516 will raise the chance of larger reversal and turn focus to 1.3200 resistance first.

In the bigger picture, down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) is still in progress. Next medium term target will be 61.8% projection of 1.7190 to 1.1946 from 1.3514 at 1.0273. In any case, outlook will remain bearish as long as 1.3514 resistance holds, in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD’s rebound from 1.2251 extended higher to 1.2669 last week. As a temporary top was formed, initial bias is neutral this week first. Further rise is expected as long as 1.2508 minor support holds. On the upside, break of 1.2669 will target a test on 1.2813 high. On the downside, however, break of 1.2508 will turn bias back to the downside for 1.2251 support instead.

GBP/USD’s down trend resumed last week and edged lower to 1.1874, but recovered since then. Initial bias remains neutral this week for some consolidations first. Outlook stays bearish as long as 1.2405 resistance holds. On the downside, break of 1.1874 will resume larger down trend to t 100% projection of 1.2666 to 1.1932 from 1.2405 at 1.1671. Break there will target 1.1409 long term support.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4248 (2018 high) could be a leg inside the pattern from 1.1409 (2020 low), or resuming the longer term down trend. Deeper decline is expected as long as 1.2666 resistance holds. Next target is 1.1409 low. However, firm break of 1.2666 will bring stronger rise back to 55 week EMA (now at 1.3065).

In the longer term picture, rebound from 1.1409 long term bottom should have completed at 1.4248 already, well ahead of 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 to 1.1409 at 1.5134. The development argues that price actions from 1.1409 are developing into a corrective pattern only. That is, long term bearishness is retained for resuming the down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) at a later stage.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

On the downside, below 1.1798 minor support will target 1.2661 low first. Break will resume larger fall from 1.4376. And stronger rebound would be seen back to 55 day EMA (now at 1.3060) and above.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA (now at 1.4091). Current downside acceleration argues that it’s possibly resuming long term down trend. In any case, outlook will stay bearish as long as 38.2% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2661 at 1.3316 holds. Retest of 1.1946 should be seen next.

GBP/USD drops to as low as 1.3999 today and breaches 1.4008 temporary low. Focus is now on 1.3982 support. Decisive break there will indicate completion of the rise from 1.3711. In that case, intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for retesting 1.3711. Nonetheless, strong rebound from 1.3982, followed by break of 1.4096 minor resistance will turn bias to the upside for 1.4243. Break will resume the rally from 1.3711 for 1.4345 high first.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.3038 support holds, medium term outlook in GBP/USD will remains bullish. Rise from 1.1946 is at least correcting the long term down from 2007 high at 2.1161. Further rally would be seen back to 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1946 (2016 low) at 1.5466. However, GBP/USD fails to sustain above 55 month EMA (now at 1.4259) so far. Break of 1.3038 support, will suggest that rise from 1.1946 has completed and will turn outlook bearish for retesting this low.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD’s corrective rise from 1.2661 extended to 1.3297 last week but faced strong resistance from 1.3316 key fibonacci level and reversed. Initial bias stays on the downside for 1.3042 resistance turned support first. Break will target 1.2784 support next. On the upside, break of 1.3297 is now needed to confirm rise resumption. Otherwise, risk will stay on the downside even in case of recovery.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA (now at 1.4062). The structure and momentum of the fall from 1.4376 argues that it’s resuming long term down trend. And this will be the preferred case as long as 38.2% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2661 at 1.3316 holds. However, firm break of 1.3316 would bring stronger rebound to 61.8% retracement at 1.3721. And, the eventual depth of the fall from 1.4376, and the chance of hitting 1.1946 low, will depend on the strength of the interim corrective rebound from 1.2661.

In the longer term picture, outlook in GBP/USD is held bearish. Rebound from 1.1946 was rejected solidly by falling 55 month EMA. The pair was limited well below 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1946, as well as the decade long falling trend line. On break of 1.1946, next target will be 61.8% projection of 1.7190 to 1.1946 from 1.4376 at 1.1135.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3431; (P) 1.3465; (R1) 1.3521; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the upside for the moment. Current development suggests that corrective fall from 1.4248 has completed with three waves down to 1.3158, after hitting 1.3164 medium term fibonacci level. Further rise should be seen to 1.3570 support turned resistance. Sustained break there will further affirm this bullish case and target 1.3833 resistance next. On the downside, break of 1.3375 minor support will turn intraday bias neutral first.

In the bigger picture, focus remains on 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.3164. Sustained break there will argue that whole rise from 1.1409 has completed at 1.4248, after rejection by 1.4376 long term resistance. That will revive some medium term bearishness and and target 61.8% retracement at 1.2493. However, strong rebound from current level will revive argue that up trend from 1.1409 is still in progress, and probably ready to resume.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2639; (P) 1.2687; (R1) 1.2720; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD stays neutral as range trading continues. On the downside, break of 1.2546 will resume whole fall from 1.3141 to 61.8% projection of 1.3141 to 1.2618 from 1.2799 at 1.2476. However, on the upside, firm break of 1.2799 will indicate that the correction from 1.3141 has completed with three waves down to 1.2546. Intraday bias will be turned back to the upside for retesting 1.3141.

In the bigger picture, for now, fall from 1.3141 medium term top is seen as a correction to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low). Deeper decline would be seen to 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.3141 at 1.2075. Strong support would be seen there to bring rebound on first attempt. But outlook will be neutral at best as long as 1.3141 resistance holds, and consolidation from there is set to extend, until further development.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

After dipping to 1.2921 last week, GBP/USD staged a strong rebound from there. Breach of 1.3115 resistance suggests that pull back from 1.3297 has completed. Initial bias is on the upside this week for retesting 1.3297. For now, we’d still expect strong resistance from 1.3316 key fibonacci level to limit upside to bring down trend resumption. On the downside, below 1.3002 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for 1.2921 first.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Report

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2766; (P) 1.2788; (R1) 1.2812; More…..

GBP/USD dips notably in early US session but stays above 1.2693 support. Intraday bias remains neutral first. Considering bearish divergence condition in 4H MACD, firm break of 1.2693 will turn bias back to the downside for 55 D EMA (now at 1.2646) and possibly below. Nevertheless, break of 1.2816 will resume the rise from 1.2298 to 1.2892 resistance.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern. Fall from 1.2892 is seen as the third leg which might have completed already. Break of 1.2892 resistance will argue that larger up trend from 1.0351(2022 low) is ready to resume through 1.3141. Meanwhile, break of 1.2445 support will extend the corrective pattern with another decline instead.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD stayed in consolidation from 1.3313 last week and outlook is unchanged. Initial bias remains neutral this week first and another rise is in favor. On the upside, break of 1.3313 will resume whole rebound from 1.2675 to retest 1.3482 resistance. On the downside, however, firm break of 1.3106 support will argue that the rebound from 1.2675 has completed. Intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for 1.2853 support.

In the bigger picture, focus stays on 1.3514 key resistance. Decisive break there should also come with sustained trading above 55 month EMA (now at 1.3308). That should confirm medium term bottoming at 1.1409. Outlook will be turned bullish for 1.4376 resistance and above. Nevertheless, rejection by 1.3514 will maintain medium term bearishness for another lower below 1.1409 at a later stage.

In the longer term picture, GBP/USD is staying below decade long trend line from 2.1161 (2007 high). It also struggles to sustain above 55 month EMA (now at 1.3308). Long term outlook stays bearish for now, despite bullish convergence condition in monthly MACD.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.0351 medium term bottom is at least correcting whole down trend from 1.4248 (2021 high). Further rise is expected as long as 1.1644 resistance turned support holds. Next target is 61.8% retracement of 1.4248 to 1.0351 at 1.2759. Sustained break there will pave the way back to 1.4248. This will remain the favored case as long as 55 day EMA (now at 1.1900) holds.
