GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2448; (P) 1.2495; (R1) 1.2540; More…

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the upside at this point. Rebound from 1.2298 short term bottom would target 55 D EMA (now at 1.2582). Sustained break there will argue that fall from 1.2892 has completed already, and bring further rise to this resistance. Nevertheless, on the downside, break of 1.2448 minor support will bring retest of 1.2298 low instead.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low). Fall from 1.2892 is seen as the third leg. Deeper decline would be seen to 1.2036 support and possibly below. But strong support should emerge from 61.8% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.2452 at 1.1417 to complete the correction.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2735; (P) 1.2762; (R1) 1.2811; More

Range trading continues in GBP/USD and intraday bias remains neutral. On the downside, below 1.2618, and sustained trading below 1.2678 resistance turned support will argue that it’s already in a larger correction. Deeper decline would then be seen to 1.2306 support next. Nevertheless, firm break of 1.2796 will indicate that the pull back has completed, and turn bias back to the upside for stronger rebound.

In the bigger picture, a medium term top could be in place at 1.3141 already, on bearish divergence condition in D MACD. Sustained trading below 55 D EMA (now at 1.2726) should confirm this case, and bring deeper fall to 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.3141 at 1.2075, as a correction to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low). For now, rise will stay mildly on the downside as long as 1.3141 resistance holds, in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2374; (P) 1.2436; (R1) 1.2557; More..

GBP/USD dips mildly today but overall, it’s staying in consolidation from 1.2154. Intraday bias remains neutral at this point and further decline will remain in favor as long as 1.2637 resistance holds. On the downside, break of 1.2154 will resume the down trend from 1.4248 to 200% projection of 1.3641 to 1.2999 from 1.3297 at 1.2013. However, considering bullish convergence condition in 4 hour MACD, break of 1.2637 will confirm short term bottoming at 1.2154. Intraday bias will be turned back to the upside for 55 day EMA (now at 1.2816).

In the bigger picture, based on current momentum, fall from 1.4248 (2018 high) at least at the same degree as the rise from 1.1409 (2020 low). That is, fall from 1.4248 could be a leg inside the pattern from 1.1409, or resuming the longer term down trend. In either case, deeper decline is expected as long as 1.2999 support turned resistance holds. Next target is 1.1409 low.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3333; (P) 1.3408; (R1) 1.3458; More….

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral for consolidation below 1.3482 temporary top. Near term outlook will remain bullish as long as 1.3053 support holds. Break of 1.3482 will target 1.3514 key resistance next. Though, firm break of 1.3053 will confirm short term topping and bring deeper correction.

In the bigger picture, immediate focus is now on 1.3514 resistance. Decisive break there should at least confirm medium term bottoming at 1.1409. Further rise should be seen to 1.4376 resistance first. Though, rejection by 1.3514 will retain bearishness for resuming the down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) at a later stage.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2538; (P) 1.2565; (R1) 1.2621; More…

GBP/USD’s rebound from 1.2298 resumed by breaking through 1.2633 and intraday bias is back on the upside. Further rise should be seen to 1.2708 resistance first. Firm break there will pave the way back to 1.2892. On the downside, below 1.2586 minor support will turn intraday bias neutral first. But further rally will remain in favor as long as 1.2445 support holds in case of retreat.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern. Fall from 1.2892 is seen as the third leg which might have completed already. Break of 1.2892 resistance will argue that larger up trend from 1.0351(2022 low) is ready to resume through 1.3141. Meanwhile, break of 1.2298 support will extend the corrective pattern instead.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3068; (P) 1.3110; (R1) 1.3186; More

GBP/USD’s rebound from 1.2921 resumed by taking our 1.3131 and hit as high as 1.3161 so far. Intraday bias is back on the upside for retesting 1.3297 high. But still, we’d expect strong resistance from 1.3316 key fibonacci level to limit upside to bring down trend resumption eventually. On the downside, below 1.3032 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for 1.2921 first.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA (now at 1.4062). The structure and momentum of the fall from 1.4376 argues that it’s resuming long term down trend. And this will be the preferred case as long as 38.2% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2661 at 1.3316 holds. However, firm break of 1.3316 would bring stronger rebound to 61.8% retracement at 1.3721. And, the eventual depth of the fall from 1.4376, and the chance of hitting 1.1946 low, will depend on the strength of the interim corrective rebound from 1.2661.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2083; (P) 1.2128; (R1) 1.2175; More

GBP/USD is losing some downside momentum as seen in 4 hour MACD. But with 1.2249 minor resistance intact, intraday bias stays on the downside for 1.1946 low. Break will target 100% projection of 1.4376 to 1.2391 from 1.3381 at 1.1396. On the upside, break of 1.2249 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral first. But recovery should be limited below 1.2558 resistance to bring fall resumption.

In the bigger picture, down trend from 1.4376 (2018 high) is still in progress and is resuming. Such decline should target a test on 1.1946 long term bottom (2016 low) next. For now, we don’t expect a firm break there yet. Hence, focus will be on bottoming signal as it approaches 1.1946. However, firm break of 1.1946 will resume down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) to 61.8% projection of 1.7190 to 1.1946 from 1.4376 at 1.1135. In any case, medium term outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.3381 resistance holds, in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2582; (P) 1.2654; (R1) 1.2703; More…

GBP/USD is still bounded in range of 1.2590/2731 and intraday bias remains neutral. On the upside, decisive break of 1.2731 will resume the rally from 1.2036 for retesting 1.3141 high next. However, firm break of 1.2590 will confirm short term topping, and turn bias back to the downside for deeper pullback to 55 D EMA (now at 1.24328).

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 are seen as a corrective pattern to rise from 1.0351 (2022 low). Strong rebound from 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 (2022 low) to 1.3141 at 1.2075 suggests that current rise from 1.2036 is already the second leg. However, while further rally could be seen, upside should be limited by 1.3141 to bring the third leg of the pattern.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD’s rally from 1.1801 continued to as high as 1.2421 last week but failed to break through 1.2445/6 resistance zone. With a temporary top formed, initial bias is turned neutral this week first. On the upside, decisive break of 1.2445/6 resistance zone will resume larger rally from 1.0351, and target 1.2759 fibonacci level. However, break of 1.2203 resistance turned support will extend the corrective pattern from 1.2445 with another falling leg, and turn bias back to the downside.

In the bigger picture, the rise from 1.0351 medium term term bottom (2022 low) is in progress for 61.8% retracement of 1.4248 (2021 high) to 1.0351 at 1.2759. Sustained break there will add to the case of long term bullish trend reversal. Further break of 61.8% projection of 1.0351 to 1.2445 from 1.1801 at 1.3095 could prompt upside acceleration to 100% projection at 1.3895. For now, this will remain the favored case as long as 1.1801 support holds, even in case of deep pull back.

In the long term picture, while the rise from 1.0351 (2022 low) has been strong, there is no clear indicate of long term trend resistance yet. As long as 1.4248 resistance holds (2021 high), long term outlook will remain neutral at best.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD stayed in consolidation from 1.3381 last week and initial bias remains neutral this week first. With 1.2960 intact, further rise is still in favor. On the upside, firm break of 1.3381 will target 61.8% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2391 at 1.3618 next. However, on the downside, firm break of 1.2960 will indicate that rebound from 1.2391 has completed earlier than expected. Deeper fall would then be seen to 1.2773 support for confirmation.

In the bigger picture, medium term decline from 1.4376 (2018 high) should have completed at 1.2391. Rise from 1.2391 is now seen as the third leg of the corrective pattern from 1.1946 (2016 low). Further rise could be seen through 1.4376 in medium term. On the downside, though, break of 1.2773 support will dampen this view. Focus will be turned back to 1.2391 low and break will resume the fall from 1.4376 to 1.1946.

In the longer term picture, current development argues that corrective pattern from 1.1946 (2016 low) is extending with another rise. But there is no change in the long term bearish outlook as long as 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1946 at 1.5466 holds. An eventual downside breakout through 1.1946 is still in favor in the long term.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral for consolidation below 1.3865 temporary top. In case of deeper retreat, downside should be contained well above 1.3964 support to bring another rally. On the upside, break of 1.3865 will resume the up trend from 1.1409 to 61.8% projection of 1.1409 to 1.3482 from 1.2675 at 1.3956 next.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.1409 medium term bottom is in progress. Further rally would be seen to 1.4376 resistance and above. Decisive break there will carry larger bullish implications and open the case of long term up trend. On the downside, break of 1.2675 support is needed to indicate completion of the rise. Otherwise, outlook will stay cautiously bullish even in case of deep pullback.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3086; (P) 1.3129; (R1) 1.3168; More

GBP/USD continues to stay in tight range between 1.3070/3212 and intraday bias stays neutral. Outlook is unchanged that price actions from 1.2956 are viewed as a corrective pattern. On the downside, break of 1.3070 minor support will indicate completion of rebound form 1.2956 and turns bias back to the downside for retesting this low. Firm break there will resume larger decline from 1.4376 for 1.2874 fibonacci level next. On the upside, above 1.3212 will bring further recovery. But upside should be limited by 1.3362 resistance to bring larger decline resumption eventually.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA (now at 1.4179). Fall from 1.4376 should extend to 61.8% retracement of 1.1946 (2016 low) to 1.4376 at 1.2874 next. Decisive break of 1.2874 will raise the chance of long term down trend resumption through 1.1946 low. On the upside, break of 1.3362 resistance is needed to be the first indication of medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish even in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remain son the downside for 1.2517 structural support. Decisive break there will suggest that rise from 1.2036 has completed at 1.2892 already, and turn near term outlook bearish. For now, risk will stay on the downside as long as 1.2667 resistance holds, in case of recovery.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low). Rise from 1.2036 is seen as the second leg, which might still be in progress. But upside should be limited by 1.3141 to bring the third leg of the pattern. Meanwhile, break of 1.2517 support will argue that the third leg has already started for 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 (2022 low) to 1.3141 at 1.2075 again.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on downside for 1.3042 resistance turned support. The corrective rise from 1.2661 could have completed at 1.3297, ahead of 1.3316 key fibonacci level. Break of 1.3042 will bring deeper fall to 1.2784. Break there will argue that larger down trend from 1.4376 is resuming for a new low below 1.2661. On the upside, break of 1.3297 is now needed to confirm rise resumption. Otherwise, risk will stay on the downside even in case of recovery.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3660; (P) 1.3676; (R1) 1.3689; More

A temporary top is formed in GBP/USD at 1.3702 and intraday bias is turned neutral first. Some consolidations could be seen. But further rally is expected as long as 1.3428 support holds. Break of 1.3707 will resume whole rise from 1.1409 to 61.8% projection of 1.1409 to 1.3482 from 1.2675 at 1.3956. On the downside, break of 1.3428 support is needed to indicate short term topping. Otherwise, outlook will remain bullish in case of retreat.

In the bigger picture, the break of 1.3514 structural resistance and sustained trading above 55 month EMA (now at 1.3332) should confirm medium term bottoming at 1.1409. Rise from there should now extend to 1.4376 resistance and above. This will remain the favored case as long as 1.2675 support holds.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2692; (P) 1.2740; (R1) 1.2795; More

GBP/USD is still bounded in range above 1.2618 and intraday bias stays neutral at this point.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD stayed in consolidation from 1.2826 last week and outlook is unchanged. Initial bias remains neutral this week first. On the upside, firm break of 1.2784 resistance will suggest that consolidation pattern has completed. Further rise should be seen through 1.2826 to resume the rally from 1.2036. Next target will be 1.3141 high. On the downside, while another pull back cannot be ruled out, downside should be contained above 1.2499 support to bring rebound.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low). Rise from 1.2036 is seen as the second leg that’s in progress. Upside should be limited by 1.3141 to bring the third leg of the pattern. Meanwhile, break of 1.2499 support will argue that the third leg has already started for 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 (2022 low) to 1.3141 at 1.2075 again.

In the long term picture, a long term bottom should be in place at 1.0351 on bullish convergence condition in M MACD. But momentum of the rebound from 1.3051 argues GBP/USD is merely in consolidation, rather than trend reversal. Range trading is likely between 1.0351/4248 for some more time.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD rebounded strongly to 1.2682 last week but retreated since then. Yet, there was no follow through selling. Initial bias is turned neutral this week first. On the downside, decisive break of 1.2517/38 support zone will suggest that rise from 1.2036 has completed at 1.2892 already, and turn near term outlook bearish. On the upside, however, firm break of 1.2682 will suggest that fall from 1.2892 has completed at 1.2538. Intraday bias will be turned back to the upside for 1.2802 resistance next.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2763; (P) 1.2899; (R1) 1.2976; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the downside as down trend continues. Next target is 100% projection of 1.3641 to 1.2999 from 1.3297 at 1.2655. Sustained break there will target 161.8% projection at 1.2258. On the upside, above 1.2822 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral and bring consolidation first, before staging another decline.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.1409 (2020 low) has completed at 1.4248, ahead 1.4376 long term resistance (2018 high). Decline from 1.4248 could still be a corrective move, or it could be the start of a long term down trend. In either case, deeper decline would be seen back to 61.8% retracement of 2.1161 to 1.1409 at 1.2493. In any case, break of 1.3158 support turned resistance is needed to be the first sign of medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will stay bearish in case of rebound.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3043; (P) 1.3093; (R1) 1.3137; More….

GBP/USD continues to stay in range below 1.3185 and intraday bias remains neutral first. Further rally is expected with 1.2982 support intact. On the upside, break of 1.3185 will extend the rally from 1.1409 to 100% projection of 1.1409 to 1.2647 from 1.2065 at 1.3303. However, break of 1.2982 support should confirm short term topping. Intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for 1.2813 resistance turned support.

In the bigger picture, while the rebound from 1.1409 is strong, there is not enough evidence for trend reversal yet. Down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) should still resume sooner or later. However, decisive break of 1.3514 should at least confirm medium term bottoming and turn outlook bullish for 1.4376 resistance first.
