GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1990; (P) 1.2037; (R1) 1.2089; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the upside as rebound from 1.1986 continues. Such rise is seen as the third leg of the consolidation pattern from 1.1946. Thus, we’d expect strong resistance at 1.2774 to limit upside and bring down trend resumption eventually. On the downside, below 1.2188 minor support will turn bias to the downside for retesting 1.1946 low.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.7190 is seen as part of the down trend from 2.1161. There is no sign of medium term bottoming yet. Sustained trading below 61.8% projection of 2.1161 to 1.3503 from 1.7190 at 1.2457 will target 100% projection at 0.9532. Overall, break of 1.3444 resistance is needed to confirm medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3017; (P) 1.3065; (R1) 1.3125; More….

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral first. On the downside, firm break of 1.3013 minor support should indicate short term topping. Intraday bias will be turned to the downside for 4 hour 55 EMA (now at 1.2937) and below. But downside should be contained by 1.2813 cluster support (38.2% retracement of 1.2251 to 1.3170 at 1.2819) to bring rebound. On the upside, break of 1.3170 will resume larger rise from 1.1409 to 100% projection of 1.1409 to 1.2647 from 1.2065 at 1.3303 next.

In the bigger picture, while the rebound from 1.1409 is strong, there is not enough evidence for trend reversal yet. Down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) should still resume sooner or later. However, decisive break of 1.3514 should at least confirm medium term bottoming and turn outlook bullish for 1.4376 resistance first.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2536; (P) 1.2655; (R1) 1.2729; More….

GBP/USD’s down trend resumed by breaking 1.2476 and reaches as low as 1.2391 so far. Intraday bias is back on the downside. Current fall from 1.4376 should target 61.8% projection of 1.4376 to 1.2661 from 1.3174 at 1.2114 next. On the upside, break of 1.2814 resistance is needed to indicate trend reversal. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish in case of recovery.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA. The structure and momentum of the fall from 1.4376 argues that it’s resuming long term down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high). And this will now remain the preferred case as long as 1.3174 structural resistance holds. GBP/USD should target a test on 1.1946 first. Decisive break there will confirm our bearish view.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2438; (P) 1.2468; (R1) 1.2514; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD stays neutral as range trading continues inside 1.2376/2614. Overall, price actions from 1.1946 are viewed as a consolidation pattern pattern. On the downside, break of 1.2376 will turn bias to the downside for 1.2108 support. Decisive break there will be an early sign of larger down trend resumption. On the upside, break of 1.2614 will extend the rise from 1.2108. But upside should be limited by 1.2705/2774 resistance zone to bring larger down trend resumption eventually.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.7190 is seen as part of the down trend from 2.1161. There is no sign of medium term reversal yet.

GBP/USD Daily Chart

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2904; (P) 1.2946; (R1) 1.2993; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral for the moment. On the downside, break of 1.2880 will turn bias to the downside for retesting 1.2675 support and 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.3482 at 1.2690. On the upside, however, break of 1.3175 will resume the rebound from 1.2675 to retest 1.13482 high.

In the bigger picture, focus stays on 1.3514 key resistance. Decisive break there should also come with sustained trading above 55 month EMA (now at 1.3307). That should confirm medium term bottoming at 1.1409. Outlook will be turned bullish for 1.4376 resistance and above. Nevertheless, rejection by 1.3514 will maintain medium term bearishness for another lower below 1.1409 at a later stage.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2964; (P) 1.3006; (R1) 1.3042; More

Outlook in GBP/USD remains unchanged as correction from 1.3514 is still in progress. With 1.3209 resistance intact, another fall is mildly in favor through 1.2872 at a later stage. Nevertheless, firm break of 1.3209 will turn bias to the upside for retesting 1.3514 instead.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.1958 medium term bottom is not completed yet despite current pull back form 1.3514. Such rally is expected to resume later to 1.4376 key resistance. Reactions from there would decide whether it’s in consolidation from 1.1946 (2016 low). Or, firm break of 1.4376 will indicate long term bullish reversal. In any case, for now, outlook will stay bullish as long as 1.2582 resistance turned support holds.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD dropped sharply to as low as 1.2213 last week before forming a temporary low there and recovered. Initial bias is neutral this week first. IN our view, consolidation pattern from 1.1946 should have completed with three waves to 1.2705 already. Hence, we’d expect consolidation pattern from 1.2213 to be limited by 1.2382 minor resistance to bring another fall. Below 1.2213 will target 1.1946/86 support zone. Break of 1.1946 will confirm our bearish view and resume the larger down trend. Nonetheless, on the upside, above 1.2382 minor resistance will delay the bearish case and turn bias back to the upside for 1.2569.

In the longer term picture, no change in the view that down trend from 2.1161 is still in progress. Current momentum suggests that the down trend will go deeper than originally expected.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2441; (P) 1.2476; (R1) 1.2506; More

No change in GBP/USD’s outlook as consolidation continues above 1.2443 temporary low. Stronger recovery cannot be ruled out. But upside should be limited by 1.2618 support turned resistance. Below 1.2443 will resume the fall from 1.3141 to 100% projection of 1.3141 to 1.2618 from 1.2799 at 1.2276.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.3141 medium term top is seen as a correction to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low). Deeper decline would be seen to 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.3141 at 1.2075. Strong support would be seen there to bring rebound on first attempt. But outlook will be neutral at best as long as 1.3141 resistance holds, and consolidation from there is set to extend, until further development.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1740; (P) 1.1809; (R1) 1.1900; More

A temporary low is formed at 1.1716 with current recovery. Intraday bias in GBP/USD is turned neutral first. Upside of recovery should be limited by 1.2002 support turned resistance to bring another fall. Break of 1.1716 will resume larger down trend to 1.1409 long term support.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4248 (2018 high) could be a leg inside the pattern from 1.1409 (2020 low), or resuming the longer term down trend. Deeper decline is expected as long as 1.2292 resistance holds. Next target is 1.1409 low. However, firm break of 1.2292 will bring stronger rise back to 55 week EMA (now at 1.2859).

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2472; (P) 1.2535; (R1) 1.2599; More..

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral for the moment. On the upside, firm break of 1.2637 resistance will bring stronger rebound to 55 day EMA (now at 1.2765). On the downside, below 1.2329 minor support will retain near term bearishness and bring retest of 1.2154 first. Break there will resume larger down trend from 1.4248.

In the bigger picture, based on current momentum, fall from 1.4248 (2018 high) at least at the same degree as the rise from 1.1409 (2020 low). That is, fall from 1.4248 could be a leg inside the pattern from 1.1409, or resuming the longer term down trend. In either case, deeper decline is expected as long as 1.2999 support turned resistance holds. Next target is 1.1409 low.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD gyrated further lower to 1.2306 last week, but recovered. Initial bias is neutral this week for some consolidations. Further decline is expected as long as 1.2468 resistance holds. Decline from 1.2678 is seen as correcting whole up trend from 1.0351. Break of 1.2306 will target 1.1801 cluster support (38.2% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.2678 at 1.1789). On the upside, above 1.2468 minor resistance will turn bias back to the upside for stronger rebound.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.1801 support holds, rise from 1.0351 medium term bottom (2022 low) is expected to extend further. Sustained break of 61.8% retracement of 1.4248 (2021 high) to 1.0351 at 1.2759 will add to the case of long term bullish trend reversal. However, firm break of 1.1801 will indicate rejection by 1.2759, and bring deeper decline, even as a correction.

In the long term picture, while the rise from 1.0351 (2022 low) has been strong, there is no clear indicate of long term trend reversal yet. As long as 1.4248 resistance holds (2021 high), long term outlook will remain neutral at best.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1223; (P) 1.1302; (R1) 1.1455; More

GBP/USD’s rebound from 1.1145 extends higher today but stays well below 1.1644 resistance. Intraday bias remains neutral first. On the upside, break of 1.1644 will resume the whole rise from 1.0351 and target 1.1759/2292 resistance zone. On the downside, break of 1.1145 will reaffirm the case that corrective rise from 1.0351 has completed at 1.1644. Deeper fall would then be seen back to 1.0922 support and below.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4248 (2018 high) is part of the long term down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high). Outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.1759 support turned resistance holds. Parity would be the next target on resumption. Nevertheless, firm break of 1.1759 will confirm medium term bottoming, and open up stronger rise back to 55 week EMA (now at 1.2357).

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2020; (P) 1.2084; (R1) 1.2118; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD stays neutral for the moment. On the downside, break of 1.2002 minor support will argue that rebound from 1.1759 has completed, after rejection by 55 day EMA. Intraday bias will be back on the downside for retesting 1.1759 low first. Break there will resume larger down trend. On the upside, above 1.2922 will resume the rebound from 1.1759 towards 1.2666 resistance.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4248 (2018 high) could be a leg inside the pattern from 1.1409 (2020 low), or resuming the longer term down trend. Deeper decline is expected as long as 1.2666 resistance holds. Next target is 1.1409 low. However, firm break of 1.2666 will bring stronger rise back to 55 week EMA (now at 1.2897).

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2093; (P) 1.2137; (R1) 1.2180; More

GBP/USD’s break of 1.2079 temporary low suggests fall resumption. Intraday bias is back on the downside for 1.1946 low. Break will target 100% projection of 1.4376 to 1.2391 from 1.3381 at 1.1396. On the upside, above 1.2209 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral and bring consolidations again first.

In the bigger picture, down trend from 1.4376 (2018 high) is extending towards 1.1946 low. We’d be cautious on bottoming there. But decisive break will resume down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) to 61.8% projection of 1.7190 to 1.1946 from 1.4376 at 1.1135. In any case, medium term outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.3381 resistance holds, in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2448; (P) 1.2495; (R1) 1.2540; More…

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the upside at this point. Rebound from 1.2298 short term bottom would target 55 D EMA (now at 1.2582). Sustained break there will argue that fall from 1.2892 has completed already, and bring further rise to this resistance. Nevertheless, on the downside, break of 1.2448 minor support will bring retest of 1.2298 low instead.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low). Fall from 1.2892 is seen as the third leg. Deeper decline would be seen to 1.2036 support and possibly below. But strong support should emerge from 61.8% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.2452 at 1.1417 to complete the correction.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2509; (P) 1.2555; (R1) 1.2633; More..

GBP/USD is staying in range of 1.2329/2637 and intraday bias remains neutral at this point. Considering bullish convergence condition in 4 hour MACD, break of 1.2637 will confirm short term bottoming at 1.2154. Intraday bias will be turned back to the upside for 55 day EMA (now at 1.2775).

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral and further decline is mildly in favor with 1.2187 minor resistance intact. Break of 1.1932 will resume larger down trend from 1.4248. However, on the upside, above 1.2187 minor resistance will turn bias back to the upside for 55 day EMA (now at 1.2453) instead.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4248 (2018 high) could be a leg inside the pattern from 1.1409 (2020 low), or resuming the longer term down trend. Deeper decline is expected as long as 1.2666 resistance holds. Next target is 1.1409 low. However, firm break of 1.2666 will bring stronger rise back to 55 week EMA (now at 1.31403).

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2744; (P) 1.2756; (R1) 1.2772; More…

GBP/USD’s rebound from 1.2612 is still in progress and intraday bias stays on the upside. Correction from 1.2859 should completed at 1.2612. Firm break of 1.2859 will resume rally from 1.2298. On the downside, though, below 1.2705 will dampen the immediate bullish case, and turn intraday bias neutral again first.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern that is still in progress. Break of 1.2445 support will confirm that another falling leg has started and target 1.2036 cluster support again (38.2% retracement of 1.0351 (2022 low) to 1.3141 at 1.2075. Nevertheless, break of 1.2892 resistance will argue that larger up trend from 1.0351 is ready to resume through 1.3141.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.4018; (P) 1.4089; (R1) 1.4187; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the upside, as rise from 1.3668 is in progress for retesting 1.4240 high. Firm break there will resume larger up trend from 1.1409 low for 1.4376 long term resistance next. On the downside, break of 1.4008 resistance turned support is needed to signal short term topping. Otherwise, outlook will stay cautiously bullish in case of retreat.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.3482 resistance turned support holds, up trend from 1.1409 should still continue. Decisive break of 1.4376 resistance will carry larger bullish implications and target 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1409 (2020 low) at 1.5134. However, firm break of 1.3482 support will argue that the rise from 1.1409 has completed and bring deeper fall to 1.2675 support and below.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Report

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2766; (P) 1.2788; (R1) 1.2812; More…..

GBP/USD dips notably in early US session but stays above 1.2693 support. Intraday bias remains neutral first. Considering bearish divergence condition in 4H MACD, firm break of 1.2693 will turn bias back to the downside for 55 D EMA (now at 1.2646) and possibly below. Nevertheless, break of 1.2816 will resume the rise from 1.2298 to 1.2892 resistance.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern. Fall from 1.2892 is seen as the third leg which might have completed already. Break of 1.2892 resistance will argue that larger up trend from 1.0351(2022 low) is ready to resume through 1.3141. Meanwhile, break of 1.2445 support will extend the corrective pattern with another decline instead.
