GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.0648; (P) 1.0782; (R1) 1.1023; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral as consolidation from 1.0351 continues. While stronger recovery cannot be ruled out, upside should be limited by 4 hour 55 EMA (now at 1.1035). On the downside, break of 1.0351 will resume larger down trend towards parity next.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4248 (2018 high) is resuming long term down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high). Next target is 100% projection of 2.1161 to 1.3503 from 1.7190 at 0.9532. There is no scope of a medium term rebound as long as 1.1759 support turned resistance holds.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2521; (P) 1.2604; (R1) 1.2655; More….

Intraday bias in GBP/USD is turned neutral as recovery from 1.2454 quickly lost momentum. On the upside, firm break of 1.2813 will resume larger rise from 1.1409. On the downside, though, sustained break of 55 day EMA (now at 1.2470) will argue that whole rebound from 1.1409 has completed. In this case, deeper decline would be seen to 1.2065 support for confirmation.

In the bigger picture, while the rebound from 1.1409 is strong, there is not enough evidence for rend reversal yet. Down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) should still resume sooner or later. However, decisive break of 1.3514 should at least confirm medium term bottoming and turn outlook bullish for 1.4376 resistance first.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD rose further to as high as 1.4240 last week but retreated since then. Initial bias stays neutral this week for more consolidations first. Further rally is expected as long as 1.3828 support holds. Break of 1.4240 will extend the up trend from 1.1409 to 1.4376 long term resistance and then 100% projection of 1.1409 to 1.3482 from 1.2675 at 1.4748. However, firm break of 1.3828 will bring deeper correction to 1.2675/3482 support zone.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.1409 medium term bottom is in progress. Further rally would be seen to 1.4376 resistance and above. Decisive break there will carry larger bullish implications and target 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1409 (2020 low) at 1.5134. On the downside, break of 1.3482 resistance turned support is needed to be first indication of completion of the rise. Otherwise, outlook will stay cautiously bullish even in case of deep pullback.

In the longer term picture, a long term bottom should be in place at 1.1409, on bullish convergence condition in monthly MACD. Rise from there would target 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 to 1.1409 at 1.5134. Reaction from there would reveal whether rise from 1.1409 is just a correction, or developing into a long term up trend.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3033; (P) 1.3096; (R1) 1.3139; More….

Intraday bias in GBP/USD is turned neutral as it recovered after hitting 1.3053. On the downside, below 1.3053 will target 1.2905 support. Sustained break of 38.2% retracement of 1.1958 to 1.3514 at 1.2920 will target 61.8% retracement at 1.2552. On the upside, break of 1.3284 will bring retest of 1.3514 high.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.1958 medium term bottom is expected to extend higher to retest 1.4376 key resistance. Reactions from there would decide whether it’s in consolidation from 1.1946 (2016 low). Or, firm break of 1.4376 will indicate long term bullish reversal. In any case, for now, outlook will stay bullish as long as 1.2582 resistance turned support holds.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3298; (P) 1.3346; (R1) 1.3401; More

GBP/USD is still staying below 1.3539 short term top. Intraday bias remains neutral first. On the downside, break of 1.3223 will target 55 day EMA (now at 1.3170) first. Sustained break there will confirm another rejection by 1.3514 key resistance. Deeper fall should be seen back to 1.2675 support next. However, firm break of 1.3539 will resume larger rally from 1.1409.

In the bigger picture, focus stays on 1.3514 key resistance. Decisive break there should also come with sustained trading above 55 month EMA (now at 1.3308). That should confirm medium term bottoming at 1.1409. Outlook will be turned bullish for 1.4376 resistance and above. Nevertheless, rejection by 1.3514 will maintain medium term bearishness for another lower below 1.1409 at a later stage.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3557; (P) 1.3614; (R1) 1.3722; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral with focus on 1.3702 resistance. Decisive break there will resume whole rise from 1.1409. Intraday bias will be turned back to the upside for 61.8% projection of 1.1409 to 1.3482 from 1.2675 at 1.3956. For now, outlook will stay bullish as long as 1.3428 support holds, even in case of another retreat.

In the bigger picture, the break of 1.3514 structural resistance and sustained trading above 55 month EMA (now at 1.3328) should confirm medium term bottoming at 1.1409. Rise from there should now extend to 1.4376 resistance and above. This will remain the favored case as long as 1.2675 support holds.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2311; (P) 1.2383; (R1) 1.2423; More….

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the downside at this point. The firm break of 55 day EMA argues that whole rebound from 1.1409 has completed with three waves up to 1.2813. Further fall should be seen to 1.2065 support for confirmation. On the upside, break of 1.2587 minor resistance will turn bias back to the upside instead.

In the bigger picture, while the rebound from 1.1409 is strong, there is not enough evidence for trend reversal yet. Down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) should still resume sooner or later. However, decisive break of 1.3514 should at least confirm medium term bottoming and turn outlook bullish for 1.4376 resistance first.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3221; (P) 1.3275; (R1) 1.3325; More

GBP/USD is staying in tight range of 1.3189/3362 and intraday bias stays neutral for the moment. On the downside, break of 1.3189 minor support should confirm that corrective rise from 1.3048 has completed at 1.3362. And intraday bias will be turned to the downside for 1.3048 first. Break will resume larger fall from 1.4376 for 1.2874 fibonacci level next. In case of another rise through 1.3362, we’d expect strong resistance from 1.3471 to limit upside to finish the corrective rebound.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1936 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA (now at 1.4179). Fall from 1.4376 should extend to 61.8% retracement of 1.1936 (2016 low) to 1.4376 at 1.2874 next. We’ll pay attention to the reaction from there to asses the chance of long term down trend resumption. On the upside, sustained break of 38.2% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.3048 at 1.3555 is needed to indicate medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2696; (P) 1.2738; (R1) 1.2786; More….

GBP/USD is staying in consolidation above 1.2675 temporary low and intraday bias remains neutral first. Further decline is expected as long as 1.3007 resistance holds. On the downside, sustained break of 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.3482 at 1.2690 will argue that the rise from 1.1409 might be completed, and bring deeper fall to 61.8% retracement at 1.2201. However, break of 1.3007 resistance will suggest that decline from 1.3482 is merely a corrective move, and turn bias back to the upside for retesting 1.3482.

In the bigger picture, while the rebound from 1.1409 was strong, it’s limited by both 1.3514 resistance, as well as 55 month EMA (now at 1.3317). The development keeps outlook bearish. Sustained break of 55 week EMA (now at 1.2750) will add to medium term bearishness for a new low below 1.1409 at a later stage, resuming the down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high).

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3703; (P) 1.3743; (R1) 1.3780; More….

GBP/USD recovers mildly today but stays inside range of 1.3669/3846. Intraday bias remains neutral first. We’re still slightly favoring the case that corrective pull back from 1.4240 has completed with three waves down to 1.3669, ahead of 38.2% retracement of 1.2675 to 1.4240 at 1.3642. On the upside, break of 1.3846 will extend the rebound to 1.4000 resistance and then 1.4240 high. However, sustained break of 1.3642 will turn bring deeper fall to 1.3482 resistance turned support.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2917; (P) 1.2945; (R1) 1.2968; More

Despite diminishing downside momentum as seen in 4 hour MACD, intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the downside with 1.2998 minor resistance intact. Current down trend from 1.4376 should target 1.2874 fibonacci level next. On the upside, above 1.2998 minor resistance will bring strong recovery. But upside should be limited below 1.3212 resistance to bring fall resumption.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA (now at 1.4141). Fall from 1.4376 should extend to 61.8% retracement of 1.1946 (2016 low) to 1.4376 at 1.2874 next. Decisive break of 1.2874 will raise the chance of long term down trend resumption through 1.1946 low. On the upside, break of 1.3212 resistance is needed to be the first indication of medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish even in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2918; (P) 1.2946; (R1) 1.2965; More….

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral as consolidation from 1.3012 is extending. In case of another retreat, downside should be contained above 1.2582 resistance turned support to bring rise resumption. On the upside, break of 1.3012 will resume the rise from 1.1958 to 161.8% projection of 1.1958 to 1.2582 from 1.2195 at 1.3205 next.

In the bigger picture, current development affirms the case of medium term bottoming at 1.1958, ahead of 1.1946 (2016 low). At this point, rise from 1.1958 is seen as the third leg of consolidation from 1.1946. Further rise would be seen back towards 1.4376 resistance. For now, this will remain the favored case as long as 1.2582 resistance turned support holds.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2631; (P) 1.2673; (R1) 1.2729; More

GBP/USD recovers notably today but stays below 1.2817 resistance. Intraday bias remains neutral at this point. On the downside, firm break of 1.2618, and sustained trading below 1.2678 resistance turned support will argue that it’s already in a larger correction. Deeper decline would then be seen to 1.2306 support next. Nevertheless, break of 1.2817 minor resistance will indicate that the pull back has completed, and turn bias back to the upside for stronger rebound.

In the bigger picture, a medium term top could be in place at 1.3141 already, on bearish divergence condition in D MACD. Sustained trading below 55 D EMA (now at 1.2723) should confirm this case, and bring deeper fall to 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.3141 at 1.2075, as a correction to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low). For now, rise will stay mildly on the downside as long as 1.3141 resistance holds, in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1996; (P) 1.2051; (R1) 1.2143; More….

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral at this point. We’d stay cautious on bottoming around 1.1946. But break of 1.2309 is needed to confirm short term bottoming. Otherwise, further decline remains in favor. On the downside, decisive break of 1.1946 will target 61.8% projection of 1.2783 to 1.2014 from 1.2309 at 1.1834. However, sustained break of 1.2309 will turn near term outlook bullish for 1.2783 resistance next.

In the bigger picture, down trend from 1.4376 (2018 high) is extending towards 1.1946 low. We’d be cautious on bottoming there. But decisive break will resume down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) to 61.8% projection of 1.7190 to 1.1946 from 1.4376 at 1.1135. In any case, medium term outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.3381 resistance holds, in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD’s breach of 1.3745 temporary top suggests rise resumption. Intraday bias is back on the upside. Current up trend from 1.1409 should target 61.8% projection of 1.1409 to 1.3482 from 1.2675 at 1.3956 next. On the downside, however, break of 1.3608 support will now suggest short term topping, on bearish divergence condition in 4 hour MACD. Intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for deeper pull back.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.1409 medium term bottom is in progress. Further rally would be seen to 1.4376 resistance and above. On the downside, break of 1.2675 support is needed to indicate completion of the rise. Otherwise, outlook will stay cautiously bullish even in case of deep pullback.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Intraday bias bias in GBP/USD remains neutral at this point. With 1.2847 resistance turned support intact, outlook stays bullish. On the upside, above 1.2963 minor resistance will turn bias back to the upside for retesting 1.3141 high. Nevertheless, decisive break of 1.2847 will argue that larger correction is underway and target 1.2589 support next.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.0351 medium term bottom (2022 low) is in progress. Next target is 100% projection of 1.0351 to 1.2445 from 1.1801 at 1.3895. Break there will target 1.4248 key long term resistance (2021 high) next. This will now remain the favored case as long as 1.2678 resistance turned support holds.

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral at this point. Further rally will remain in favor as long as 55 4H EMA (now at 1.2762) holds. On the upside, above 1.2892 will resume larger rise from 1.2063 and target 61.8% projection of 1.2036 to 1.2826 from 1.2517 at 1.3005. However, sustained break of 55 4H EMA will bring deeper fall back towards 55 D EMA (now at 1.2672), and possibly further to 1.2517 structural support.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low). Rise from 1.2036 is seen as the second leg, which is still in progress. But upside should be limited by 1.3141 to bring the third leg of the pattern. Meanwhile, break of 1.2517 support will argue that the third leg has already started for 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 (2022 low) to 1.3141 at 1.2075 again.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

GBP/USD is still bounded in consolidation from 1.3313 and intraday bias remains neural at this point. With 1.3106 support intact, further rise is still in favor. On the upside, break of 1.3313 will resume the rise from 1.2675 and bring retest of 1.3482 high. However, sustained break of 1.3106 will argue that the rebound from 1.2675 has completed. Intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for 1.2853 support.

In the bigger picture, focus stays on 1.3514 key resistance. Decisive break there should also come with sustained trading above 55 month EMA (now at 1.3304). That should confirm medium term bottoming at 1.1409. Outlook will be turned bullish for 1.4376 resistance and above. Nevertheless, rejection by 1.3514 will maintain medium term bearishness for another lower below 1.1409 at a later stage.

In the bigger picture, while the rebound from 1.1409 is strong, there is not enough evidence for trend reversal yet. Down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) should still resume sooner or later.
