GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2647; (P) 1.2672; (R1) 1.2712; More…

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral for the moment. Further decline is expected as long as 1.2739 resistance holds. Break of 1.2622, and sustained trading below 1.2633 resistance turned support will argue that whole rise from 1.2298 has completed, and target 1.2445 and below. However, firm break of 1.2739 will argue that pull back from 1.2859 has completed, and bring retest of this high instead.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern that is still in progress. Break of 1.2445 support will confirm that another falling leg has started and target 1.2036 cluster support again (38.2% retracement of 1.0351 (2022 low) to 1.3141 at 1.2075. Nevertheless, break of 1.2892 resistance will argue that larger up trend from 1.0351is ready to resume through 1.3141.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral at this point. Further rally will remain in favor as long as 55 4H EMA (now at 1.2762) holds. On the upside, above 1.2892 will resume larger rise from 1.2063 and target 61.8% projection of 1.2036 to 1.2826 from 1.2517 at 1.3005. However, sustained break of 55 4H EMA will bring deeper fall back towards 55 D EMA (now at 1.2672), and possibly further to 1.2517 structural support.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low). Rise from 1.2036 is seen as the second leg, which is still in progress. But upside should be limited by 1.3141 to bring the third leg of the pattern. Meanwhile, break of 1.2517 support will argue that the third leg has already started for 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 (2022 low) to 1.3141 at 1.2075 again.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2499; (P) 1.2524; (R1) 1.2567; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the upside for 1.2614 resistance. Break there will resume whole rise from 1.2108 and target 100% projection of 1.2108 to 1.2614 from 1.2365 at 1.2871. But overall, price actions from 1.1946 low are viewed as a consolidation pattern. We’d expect strong resistance around 55 week EMA (now at 1.3015) to limit upside and bring down trend resumption. But for now, further rise will be favored in near term as long as 1.2365 support holds.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.7190 is seen as part of the down trend from 2.1161. There is no sign of medium term reversal yet. Sustained trading below 61.8% projection of 2.1161 to 1.3503 from 1.7190 at 1.2457 will target 100% projection at 0.9532. Overall, break of 1.3444 resistance is needed to confirm medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1899; (P) 1.1971; (R1) 1.2012; More

GBP/SUD recovered ahead of 1.1914 and intraday bias is turned neutral first. Another fall is in favor with 1.2146 resistance intact. Break of 1.1914 will resume the decline from 1.2446 for 1.1840 support and possibly below. On the upside, break of 1.2146 resistance will turn bias back to the upside for further rebound to 1.2269 and above.

In the bigger picture,as long as 1.1840 support holds, rise from 1.0351 medium term bottom (2022 low) should still continue to 61.8% retracement of 1.4248 (2021 high) to 1.0351 at 1.2759. However, decisive break of 1.1840 will complete a double top pattern (1.2445, 1.2446) after rejection by 55 week EMA (now at 1.2251). Deeper decline should be seen back to 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.2445 at 1.1645.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2804; (P) 1.2846; (R1) 1.2898; More

GBP/USD is staying in consolidation above 1.2774 temporary low and intraday bias remains neutral for the moment. We’re holding on to view that rise from 1.2108 is completed. Hence, upside of current recovery should be limited by 1.2926 minor resistance and bring another decline. Below 1.2774 will target 1.2614 resistance turned support next. Break there should also indicate completion of whole consolidation pattern from 1.1946 and target a retest on this low. Meanwhile, above 1.2926 minor resistance will turn focus back to 1.3047 high instead.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.7190 is seen as part of the down trend from 2.1161. The rejection from 55 week EMA is maintaining bearishness in the pair. Also, at this point, as long as 1.3444 resistance holds, fall from 1.7190 is still expected to continue. Break of above mentioned 1.2614 support will affirm this bearish case.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2995; (P) 1.3012; (R1) 1.3035; More

GBP/USD rebounds strongly today but it’s held below 1.3174 resistance so far. Intraday bias is turned neutral first. On the downside, break of 1.2977 will target 1.2905 low. break there will extend the correction from 1.3514. On the upside, break of 1.3174 resistance will turn bias to the upside for 1.3284 resistance instead.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.1958 medium term bottom is expected to extend higher to retest 1.4376 key resistance. Reactions from there would decide whether it’s in consolidation from 1.1946 (2016 low). Or, firm break of 1.4376 will indicate long term bullish reversal. In any case, for now, outlook will stay bullish as long as 1.2582 resistance turned support holds.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3004; (P) 1.3057; (R1) 1.3101; More….

GBP/USD’s recovery lost momentum after hitting 1.3109. Intraday bias is turned neutral first. Above 1.3109 will target 1.3174/3217 resistance zone. Decisive break there will complete a head and shoulder bottom pattern (ls: 1.2661, h: 1.2391, rs: 1.2773). That would indicate bullish reversal for 61.8% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2391 at 1.3618 next. On the downside, break of 1.2935 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for 1.2773 instead.

In the bigger picture, focus is back on 1.3174 resistance with current rebound. Break will indicate completion of decline from 1.4376. Rise from 1.2391 would then be seen as the third leg of the corrective pattern from 1.1946 (2016 low). In that case, further rise could be seen through 1.4376 resistance. Nevertheless, rejection by 1.3174 again will extend the decline from 1.4376 through 1.2391 to 1.1946 low.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3221; (P) 1.3275; (R1) 1.3325; More

GBP/USD is staying in tight range of 1.3189/3362 and intraday bias stays neutral for the moment. On the downside, break of 1.3189 minor support should confirm that corrective rise from 1.3048 has completed at 1.3362. And intraday bias will be turned to the downside for 1.3048 first. Break will resume larger fall from 1.4376 for 1.2874 fibonacci level next. In case of another rise through 1.3362, we’d expect strong resistance from 1.3471 to limit upside to finish the corrective rebound.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1936 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA (now at 1.4179). Fall from 1.4376 should extend to 61.8% retracement of 1.1936 (2016 low) to 1.4376 at 1.2874 next. We’ll pay attention to the reaction from there to asses the chance of long term down trend resumption. On the upside, sustained break of 38.2% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.3048 at 1.3555 is needed to indicate medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD’s strong rally last week suggests that corrective decline from 1.3381 has completed at 1.2865 already. Also, 1.2774 key support level was defended. Rise from 1.2391 is likely in progress. Intraday bias is now on the upside this week for retesting 1.3381 high. On the downside, below 1.2987 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for 1.2865 support instead..

In the bigger picture, medium term decline from 1.4376 (2018 high) halted and made a medium term bottom after hitting 1.2391. Rebound from 1.2391 is seen as a corrective move for now. In case of another rise, strong resistance could be seen around 61.8% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2391 at 1.3618 to limit upside. On the downside, break of 1.2773 support will suggests that such corrective rise is completed and bring retest of 1.2391 low first.

In the longer term picture, consolidative pattern from 1.1946 (2016 low) is still in progress. For now, we’d expect any downside attempt to be contained by 1.1946 low first. But decisive break of 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1946 at 1.5466 is needed to indicate long term reversal. Otherwise, an eventual downside breakout will remain in favor.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2847; (P) 1.2875; (R1) 1.2920; More

GBP/USD is still bounded in range of 1.2798/2935 and intraday bias remains neutral first. As noted before, as long as 1.2956 support turned resistance stays intact, near term outlook remains bearish for further decline. On the downside, below 1.1798 minor support will target 1.2661 low first. Break will resume larger fall from 1.4376. However, considering bullish convergence condition in daily MACD, break of 1.2956 will indicate medium term bottoming. And stronger rebound would be seen back to 55 day EMA (now at 1.3060) and above.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA (now at 1.4091). Current downside acceleration argues that it’s possibly resuming long term down trend. In any case, outlook will stay bearish as long as 38.2% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2661 at 1.3316 holds. Retest of 1.1946 should be seen next.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3066; (P) 1.3154; (R1) 1.3203; More

GBP/USD drops to as low as 1.3104 so far and focus is now on 1.3101 support. Break will resume fall from 1.4376 and target 61.8% retracement of 1.1946 to 1.4376 at 1.2875 next. In case of another recovery, we’d continue to expect upside to be limited by 1.3471 resistance to bring decline resumption.

In the bigger picture, current development suggests that whole medium term rebound from 1.1936 (2016 low) has completed at 1.4376 already, with trend line broken firmly, on bearish divergence condition in daily MACD, after rejection from 55 month EMA (now at 1.4177). 61.8% retracement of 1.1936 (2016 low) to 1.4376 at 1.2874 is the next target. We’ll pay attention to the reaction from there to asses the chance of long term down trend resumption. For now, outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.3471 resistance holds, even in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2409; (P) 1.2462; (R1) 1.2521; More

GBP/USD is staying in sideway consolidation and intraday bias stays neutral. Also, outlook remains bullish with 1.2343 support intact. On the upside, above 1.2545 will target 1.2759 fibonacci level first. Firm break there will target 61.8% projection of 1.0351 to 1.2445 from 1.1801 at 1.3095. However, considering bearish divergence condition in 4H MACD, firm break of 1.2343 will confirm short term topping, and turn bias back to the downside for deeper pullback.

In the bigger picture, the rise from 1.0351 medium term term bottom (2022 low) is in progress for 61.8% retracement of 1.4248 (2021 high) to 1.0351 at 1.2759. Sustained break there will add to the case of long term bullish trend reversal. Further break of 61.8% projection of 1.0351 to 1.2445 from 1.1801 at 1.3095 could prompt upside acceleration to 100% projection at 1.3895. For now, this will remain the favored case as long as 1.1801 support holds, even in case of deep pull back.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2353; (P) 1.2406; (R1) 1.2437; More

GBP/USD’s break of 1.2382 temporary low suggests fall resumption and intraday bias is back on the downside. Sustained trading below 1.2391 key support will extend larger down trend to 61.8% projection of 1.4376 to 1.2391 from 1.3381 at 1.2154 next. In any case, outlook will remain bearish as long as 1.2522 resistance holds, in case of recovery.

In the bigger picture, down trend from 1.4376 (2018 high) is still in progress. Break of 1.2391 would target a test on 1.1946 long term bottom (2016 low). For now, we don’t expect a firm break there yet. Hence, focus will be on bottoming signal as it approaches 1.1946. In any case, medium term outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.3381 resistance holds, in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3153; (P) 1.3207; (R1) 1.3248; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral with focus on 1.3164 medium term fibonacci level. Sustained break there will carry larger bearish implication, and target 161.8% projection of 1.4248 to 1.3570 from 1.3833 at 1.2736. On the upside, though, break of 1.3351 support turned resistance will indicate short term bottoming, and turn bias back to the upside for 1.3512 resistance next.

In the bigger picture, immediate focus is now on 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.3164. Sustained break there will argue that whole rise from 1.1409 has completed at 1.4248, ahead rejection by 1.4376 long term resistance. That will revive some medium term bearishness and and target 61.8% retracement at 1.2493.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3865; (P) 1.3911; (R1) 1.3937; More….

GBP/USD is staying in consolidation from 1.3982 and intraday bias remains neutral first. Outlook is unchanged that corrective pattern from 1.4240 could have completed with three waves down to 1.3570. Further rise is expected as long as 1.3766 support holds. On the upside, break of 1.3982 will resume the rise from 1.3570 to retest 1.4248 high. However, break of 1.3766 support will dampen this bullish view and bring retest of 1.3570.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.3482 resistance turned support holds, up trend from 1.1409 should still continue. Decisive break of 1.4376 resistance will carry larger bullish implications. However, firm break of 1.3482 support will argue that the rise from 1.1409 has completed. GBP/USD would then be seen in another leg of long term range pattern between 1.1409 and 1.4376. Deeper fall could then be seen to 61.8% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.2493, and even below.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2152; (P) 1.2189; (R1) 1.2240; More

Break of 1.2287 resistance argues that rebound from 1.2036 is resuming. Intraday bias is back on the upside for 1.2336 resistance first. Firm break there will target 38.2% retracement of 1.3141 to 1.2036 at 1.2458. On the downside, below 1.2184 minor support will turn intraday bias neutral first.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.3141 medium term top could be viewed as part of a correction to rise from 1.0351 (2022 low). An interim bounce could be seen as the second leg of the pattern. But upside should be limited well below 1.3141 to start the third leg. Nevertheless, the pattern would be a range pattern as long as 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.3141 at 1.2075 holds.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3347; (P) 1.3397; (R1) 1.3460; More….

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the upside for 1.3651 high. Break there will resume medium term rally from 1.1946 to 1.3835 key resistance. On the downside, below 1.3382 minor support will turn bias neutral and bring retreat before staging another rally.

In the bigger picture, as noted before, GBP/USD hit strong resistance from the long term falling trend line. Nonetheless, subsequent fall was contained by 55 week EMA (now at 1.3069). Outlook is a bit mixed. For the moment, as long as 1.3835 support turned resistance holds, medium term rise from 1.1946 are viewed as a corrective pattern. That is, we’d expect another leg in the long term down trend through 1.1946 low. However, sustained break of 1.3835 should at least send GBP/USD to 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1946 (2016 low) at 1.5466.

GBP/USD Daily Chart

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3333; (P) 1.3408; (R1) 1.3458; More….

A temporary top is in place at 1.3482 after hitting 161.8% projection of 1.2065 to 1.2813 from 1.2251 at 1.3461. Intraday bias in GBP/USD is turned neutral for some consolidations. Deeper retreat might be seen. But downside should be contained above 1.3053 support to bring another rally. Break of 1.3482 will target 1.3514 key resistance next. Though, firm break of 1.3053 will confirm short term topping and bring deeper correction.

In the bigger picture, immediate focus is now on 1.3514 resistance. Decisive break there should at least confirm medium term bottoming at 1.1409. Further rise should be seen to 1.4376 resistance first. Though, rejection by 1.3514 will retain bearishness for resuming the down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) at a later stage.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD stayed in very tight range above 1.2725 last week and outlook is unchanged. Initial bias remains neutral this week first. ON the upside, break of 1.2927 will bring stronger rebound to 1.3071 resistance first. On the downside, break of 1.2725 will likely send GBP/USD lower to retest 1.2661 low. After all, price actions from 1.2661 are viewed as a consolidation pattern. Even in case of strong rebound, upside should be limited by 1.3316 fibonacci level to bring down trend resumption eventually.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA. The structure and momentum of the fall from 1.4376 argues that it’s resuming long term down trend. And this will be the preferred case as long as 38.2% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2661 at 1.3316 holds. However, firm break of 1.3316 would bring stronger rebound to 61.8% retracement at 1.3721. And, the eventual depth of the fall from 1.4376, and the chance of hitting 1.1946 low, will depend on the strength of the interim corrective rebound from 1.2661.

In the longer term picture, outlook in GBP/USD is held bearish. Rebound from 1.1946 was rejected solidly by falling 55 month EMA. The pair was limited well below 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1946, as well as the decade long falling trend line. On break of 1.1946, next target will be 61.8% projection of 1.7190 to 1.1946 from 1.4376 at 1.1135.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3396; (P) 1.3435; (R1) 1.3464; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral and consolidation from 1.3351 could extend. But upside of recovery should be limited below 1.3606 resistance to bring down trend resumption. On the downside, break of 1.3351 will extend the decline from 1.4248 to 1.3164 fibonacci level next.

In the bigger picture, the structure of the fall from 1.4248 suggests that it’s a correction to the up trend from 1.1409 (2020 low) only. While deeper fall cannot be ruled out yet, downside should be contained by 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.3164, at least on first attempt, to bring rebound. On the upside, firm break of 1.4376 key resistance (2018 high) will add to the case of long term bullish reversal. However, sustained trading below 1.3164 will revive some medium term bearishness and target 61.8% retracement at 1.2493.
