GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2818; (P) 1.2860; (R1) 1.2898; More…..

GBP/USD is staying in consolidation form 1.2675 and intraday bias remains neutral first. With 1.3007 resistance intact, fall from 1.3482 is still in favor to extend lower. On the downside, sustained break of 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.3482 at 1.2690 will argue that the rise from 1.1409 might be completed, and bring deeper fall to 61.8% retracement at 1.2201. However, break of 1.3007 resistance will suggest that decline from 1.3482 is merely a corrective move, and turn bias back to the upside for retesting 1.3482.

In the bigger picture, while the rebound from 1.1409 was strong, it’s limited by both 1.3514 resistance, as well as 55 month EMA (now at 1.3317). The development keeps outlook bearish. Sustained break of 55 week EMA (now at 1.2749) will add to medium term bearishness for a new low below 1.1409 at a later stage, resuming the down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high).

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral at this point. On the upside, break of 1.2055 resistance will confirm short term bottoming at 1.1759. Bias will be turned back to the upside for 1.2405 resistance next. on the downside, below 1.1759 will resume larger down trend to 100% projection of 1.2666 to 1.1932 from 1.2405 at 1.1671.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4248 (2018 high) could be a leg inside the pattern from 1.1409 (2020 low), or resuming the longer term down trend. Deeper decline is expected as long as 1.2666 resistance holds. Next target is 1.1409 low. However, firm break of 1.2666 will bring stronger rise back to 55 week EMA (now at 1.3065).

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3531; (P) 1.3559; (R1) 1.3601; More

GBP?USD’s rebound from 1.3356 continues today and intraday bias remains on the upside for 1.3748 resistance. Firm break there will revive the case that correction from 1.4248 has completed with three waves down to 1.3158. Further rally should then be seen through 1.3833 to retest 1.4248 high. On the downside, though, below 1.3515 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for 1.3356 support.

In the bigger picture, as long as 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.3164 holds, up trend from 1.1409 (2020 low) is still in progress. On resumption, next target will be 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 to 1.1409 at 1.5134. Nevertheless sustained break of 1.3164 will argue that whole rise from 1.1409 has completed and bring deeper fall to 61.8% retracement at 1.2493.

GBP/USD is still bounded in consolidation belo0w 1.3381 and intraday bias remains neutral for the moment. Further rise is expected with 1.2960 support intact. On the upside, firm break of 1.3381 will target 61.8% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2391 at 1.3618 next. However, on the downside, firm break of 1.2960 will indicate that rebound from 1.2391 has completed earlier than expected. Deeper fall would then be seen to 1.2773 support for confirmation.

In the bigger picture, medium term decline from 1.4376 (2018 high) should have completed at 1.2391. Rise from 1.2391 is now seen as the third leg of the corrective pattern from 1.1946 (2016 low). Further rise could be seen through 1.4376 in medium term. On the downside, though, break of 1.2773 support will dampen this view. Focus will be turned back to 1.2391 low and break will resume the fall from 1.4376 to 1.1946.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook (update)

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2844; (P) 1.2888; (R1) 1.2914; More

GBP/USD surges to as high as 1.2982 as rebound from 1.2661 resumes. Break of 1.2956 support turned resistance also suggests medium term bottoming at 1.2661, on bullish convergence condition in daily MACD. Intraday bias is back on the upside for 55 day EMA (now at 1.3054) and above. For now, we’d expect strong resistance from 1.3316 fibonacci level to limit upside, at least on first attempt. On the downside, break of 1.2844 support will argue that the rebound is completed and bring retest of 1.2661 low.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA (now at 1.4091). Current downside acceleration argues that it’s possibly resuming long term down trend. In any case, outlook will stay bearish as long as 38.2% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2661 at 1.3316 holds. Retest of 1.1946 should be seen next.

GBP/USD drops to as low as 1.2887 so far. Intraday bias remains on the downside for 1.2773 support. Decisive break there will confirm that corrective rebound from 1.2391 has completed earlier than expected at 1.3381. Further decline should then be seen to 1.2391 low again. On the upside, though, break of 1.3019 minor resistance will dampen this bearish case and turn bias back to the upside for rebound.

In the bigger picture, medium term decline from 1.4376 (2018 high) halted after hitting 1.2391. Rise from 1.2391 could have completed after just missing 50% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2391 at 1.338. Such rebound could be a correction to fall from 1.4376 only. Break of 1.2773 support will affirm this bearish case and target 1.2391. Break of 1.2391 will resume the fall from 1.4376 to 1.1946 (2016 low).

GBP/USD is staying in tight range below 1.2814 resistance. Intraday bias remains neutral first. Also, With 1.2814 resistance intact, outlook stays bearish and larger decline is expected to resume later. On the downside, below 1.2615 minor support will turn bias to the downside for retesting 1.2391 first. Break will extend the down trend from 1.4376 and target 61.8% projection of 1.4376 to 1.2661 from 1.3174 at 1.2114 next. However, firm break of 1.2814 resistance will be an early sign of trend reversal and bring stronger rebound back to 1.3174 resistance next.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA. The structure and momentum of the fall from 1.4376 argues that it’s resuming long term down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high). And this will now remain the preferred case as long as 1.3174 structural resistance holds. GBP/USD should target a test on 1.1946 first. Decisive break there will confirm our bearish view.

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral for the moment. Further rise is mildly in favor and break of 1.2647 will target 61.8% projection of 1.1409 to 1.2485 from 1.2164 at 1.2829. However, break of 1.2164 support will indicate completion of the rebound and turn bias back to the downside for retesting 1.1409 low.

Intraday bias will be back on the downside for retesting 1.0351. On the upside, firm break of 61.8% retracement of 1.2292 to 1.0351 at 1.1551 will pave the way to 1.2292 resistance.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4248 (2018 high) is resuming long term down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high). Next target is 100% projection of 2.1161 to 1.3503 from 1.7190 at 0.9532. There is no scope of a medium term rebound as long as 1.1759 support turned resistance holds.

Firm break of 100% projection of 1.2108 to 1.2614 from 1.2365 at 1.2871 will target 161.8% retracement at 1.3184. Still, price actions from 1.1946 are seen as a correction. Hence we’d expect strong resistance below 1.3444 to bring larger down trend resumption. on the downside, break of 1.2614 resistance turned support will turn bias back to the downside for 1.2365 support first.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.7190 is seen as part of the down trend from 2.1161. There is no sign of medium term reversal yet. Sustained trading below 61.8% projection of 2.1161 to 1.3503 from 1.7190 at 1.2457 will target 100% projection at 0.9532. GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2981; (P) 1.3031; (R1) 1.3119; More….

No change in GBP/USD’s outlook. Intraday bias stays on the upside as rebound from 1.2391 is targeting 1.3174 resistance, which is close to 38.2% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2391 at 1.3149. We’d expect strong resistance from there to limit upside, at least on first attempt. On the downside, break of 1.2830 support is needed to be the first sign of near term reversal. Otherwise, further rally is in favor in case of retreat.

And this will remain the preferred case as long as 1.3174 structural resistance holds. GBP/USD should target a test on 1.1946 first. Decisive break there will confirm our bearish view. However, sustained break of 1.3174 will invalidate this case and turn outlook bullish.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2863; (P) 1.2936; (R1) 1.2972; More

Outlook in GBP/USD is unchanged as consolidation from 1.3514 is in progress. Further decline is mildly in favor with 1.3069 resistance intact. Break of 1.2849 will extend the corrective fall from 1.3514 to 50% retracement of 1.1958 to 1.3514 at 1.2736. However, break of 1.3069 will turn bias to the upside for 1.3209 resistance.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.1958 medium term bottom is not completed yet despite current pull back form 1.3514. Such rally is expected to resume later to 1.4376 key resistance. Reactions from there would decide whether it’s in consolidation from 1.1946 (2016 low). Or, firm break of 1.4376 will indicate long term bullish reversal. In any case, for now, outlook will stay bullish as long as 1.2582 resistance turned support holds.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2243; (P) 1.2283; (R1) 1.2340; More….

With 1.2346 minor resistance intact, further decline is expected in GBP/USD. Corrective rebound from 1.1958 should have completed at 1.2582. Further fall should be seen to retest 1.1946/58 key support zone next. However, break of 1.2346 will turn bias back to the upside for retesting 1.2582.

In the bigger picture, we’d remain cautious on medium term bottoming around 1.1946 (2016 low). Sustained trading above 55 week EMA (now at 1.2724) will extend the consolidation pattern from 1.1946 with another rise to 1.4376 resistance. Nevertheless, decisive break of 1.1946 will resume down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) to 61.8% projection of 1.7190 to 1.1946 from 1.4376 at 1.1135.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2900; (P) 1.2938; (R1) 1.2981; More….

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral as consolidation from 1.3012 is extending. Another fall could be seen. But downside should be contained above 1.2582 resistance turned support to bring rise resumption. On the upside, break of 1.3012 will resume the rise from 1.1958 to 161.8% projection of 1.1958 to 1.2582 from 1.2195 at 1.3205 next.

In the bigger picture, current development affirms the case of medium term bottoming at 1.1958, ahead of 1.1946 (2016 low). At this point, rise from 1.1958 is seen as the third leg of consolidation from 1.1946. Further rise would be seen back towards 1.4376 resistance. For now, this will remain the favored case as long as 1.2195 support holds.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD’s rise from 1.2391 resumed last week by breaching 1.3350 to 1.3381. But the pair then lost momentum and retreated. Initial bias remains neutral this week first. Further rise is expected as long as 1.2960 support holds. On the upside firm break of 1.3381 will target 61.8% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2391 at 1.3618 next.

In the longer term picture, current development argues that corrective pattern from 1.1946 (2016 low) is extending with another rise. But there is no change in the long term bearish outlook as long as 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1946 at 1.5466 holds. An eventual downside breakout through 1.1946 is still in favor in the long term.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2774; (P) 1.2803; (R1) 1.2828; More

GBP/USD lost some downside momentum again but still, further decline is expected with 1.2915 resistance. Current fall from 1.3267 should be targeting to 1.2588 key near term support. As noted before, we’re favoring the case that correction from 1.1946 is completed at 1.3267. Decisive break of 1.2588 will confirm our view and target a test on 1.1946 low. Though, break of 1.2915 will indicate short term bottoming and bring stronger rebound.

In the bigger picture, overall, price actions from 1.1946 medium term low are seen as a corrective pattern. While further rise cannot be ruled out, larger outlook remains bearish as long as 1.3444 key resistance holds. Down trend from 1.7190 (2014 high) is expected to resume later after the correction completes. And break of 1.2588 will indicate that such down trend is resuming.

However, firm break of 1.3482 support will argue that the rise from 1.1409 has completed and bring deeper fall to 1.2675 support and below.

Intraday bias is back on the upside for 1.3174 resistance, which is close to 38.2% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2391 at 1.3149. We’d expect strong resistance from there to limit upside, at least on first attempt. On the downside, break of 1.2830 support is needed to be the first sign of near term reversal. Nevertheless, rejection by 1.3514 will maintain medium term bearishness for another lower below 1.1409 at a later stage.
