GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2922; (P) 1.2954; (R1) 1.2985; More….

A temporary low is formed at 1.2905, after drawing support from 38.2% retracement of 1.1958 to 1.3514 at 1.2920. Intraday bias in GBP/USD turned neutral first. On the upside, break of 1.3079 minor resistance will suggest that the pull back from 1.3514 has completed. Intraday bias will be turned back to the upside for retesting 1.3514. On the downside, sustained break of 1.2905 will pave the way to 61.8% retracement at 1.2552.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.1958 medium term bottom expected to extend higher to retest 1.4376 key resistance. Reactions from there would decide whether it’s in consolidation from 1.1946 (2016 low). Or, firm break of 1.4376 will indicate long term bullish reversal. In any case, for now, outlook will stay bullish as long as 1.2582 resistance turned support holds.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3907; (P) 1.3948; (R1) 1.3975; More….

No change in GBP/USD’s outlook. With 1.3873 minor support intact, further rise is still in favor for 1.4144 resistance. Break there will confirm completion of correction from 1.4345 and target retest of this high. On the downside, below 1.3873 minor support will turn bias to the downside to extend the corrective fall from 1.4345 instead.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.3038 support holds, medium term outlook in GBP/USD will remains bullish. Rise from 1.1946 is at least correcting the long term down from 2007 high at 2.1161. Further rally would be seen back to 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1946 (2016 low) at 1.5466. However, GBP/USD fails to sustain above 55 month EMA (now at 1.4259) so far. Break of 1.3038 support, will suggest that rise from 1.1946 has completed and will turn outlook bearish for retesting this low.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3043; (P) 1.3093; (R1) 1.3137; More….

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral at this point and more sideway trading could be seen. Further rally is expected with 1.2982 support intact. On the upside, break of 1.3185 will extend the rally from 1.1409 to 100% projection of 1.1409 to 1.2647 from 1.2065 at 1.3303. However, break of 1.2982 support should confirm short term topping. Intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for 1.2813 resistance turned support.

In the bigger picture, while the rebound from 1.1409 is strong, there is not enough evidence for trend reversal yet. Down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) should still resume sooner or later. However, decisive break of 1.3514 should at least confirm medium term bottoming and turn outlook bullish for 1.4376 resistance first.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD’s fall from 1.3297 extended last week and the break of 1.3042 support should confirm our bearish view. that is, corrective rise from 1.2661 has completed with three waves up to 1.3297, ahead of 1.3316 key fibonacci level. Initial bias stays on the downside for 1.2784 support first. Break there will likely resume larger down trend from 1.4376 through 1.2661 low. On the upside, above 1.3089 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral and bring consolidation, before staging another decline.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA (now at 1.4099). The structure and momentum of the fall from 1.4376 argues that it’s resuming long term down trend. And this will be the preferred case as long as 38.2% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2661 at 1.3316 holds. However, firm break of 1.3316 would bring stronger rebound to 61.8% retracement at 1.3721. And, the eventual depth of the fall from 1.4376, and the chance of hitting 1.1946 low, will depend on the strength of the interim corrective rebound from 1.2661.

In the longer term picture, outlook in GBP/USD is held bearish. Rebound from 1.1946 was rejected solidly by falling 55 month EMA. The pair was limited well below 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1946, as well as the decade long falling trend line. On break of 1.1946, next target will be 61.8% projection of 1.7190 to 1.1946 from 1.4376 at 1.1135.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2472; (P) 1.2532; (R1) 1.2601; More….

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the upside at this point. The pull back from 1.2813 should have completed at 1.2251. Further rise would be seen to 1.2587 and then 1.2813 high. On the downside, break of 1.2437 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for 1.2251 support instead.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2539; (P) 1.2647; (R1) 1.2708; More….

GBP/USD’s break of 1.2618 minor support suggests short term topping at 1.2813, just ahead of 61.8% projection of 1.1409 to 1.2647 from 1.2065 at 1.2830. Intraday bias is turned to the downside for 55 day EMA (now at 1.2460). Sustained break there will argue that whole rebound from 1.1409 has completed. In this case, deeper decline would be seen to 1.2065 support for confirmation. On the upside, firm break of 1.2813 is needed to signal rally resumption. Otherwise, risk will now stay mildly on the downside in case of recovery.

In the bigger picture, while the rebound from 1.1409 is strong, there is not enough evidence trend reversal yet. Down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) should still resume sooner or later. However, decisive break of 1.3514 should at least confirm medium term bottoming and turn outlook bullish for 1.4376 resistance first.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2180; (P) 1.2295; (R1) 1.2384; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral for the moment. On the downside, break of 1.2144 minor support will suggest completion of the rebound from 1.1409 and turn bias to the downside for retesting 1.1409 low. On the upside, sustained break of 61.8% retracement of 1.3200 to 1.1409 at 1.2516 will raise the chance of larger reversal and turn focus to 1.3200 resistance first.

In the bigger picture, down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) is still in progress. Next medium term target will be 61.8% projection of 1.7190 to 1.1946 from 1.3514 at 1.0273. In any case, outlook will remain bearish as long as 1.3514 resistance holds, in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3196; (P) 1.3257; (R1) 1.3339; More….

GBP/USD is staying in consolidation from 1.3482 and intraday bias remains neutral for the moment. Further rally is expected as long as 1.3053 support holds. On the upside, break of 1.3482 will resume the whole rise from 1.1409 to 1.3514 key resistance next. However, break of 1.3053 will indicate short term topping and initial rejection by 1.3514. Intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for 55 day EMA (now at 1.2964) and below.

In the bigger picture, immediate focus is still on 1.3514 resistance. Decisive break there should at least confirm medium term bottoming at 1.1409. Further rise should be seen to 1.4376 resistance first. Though, rejection by 1.3514 will retain bearishness for resuming the down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) at a later stage.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD’s sharp fall argues that corrective recovery from 1.2559 has completed at 1.2763 already. Initial bias remains on the downside this week for 1.2559 first. Break will resume the whole fall from 1.3381 and target 1.2391 low next. On the upside, in case of another recovery, upside should be limited by by 1.2865 support turned resistance to bring fall resumption eventually.

In the bigger picture, medium term decline from 1.4376 (2018 high) is possibly ready to resume. Decisive break of 1.2391 would target a test on 1.1946 long term bottom (2016 low). For now, we don’t expect a firm break there yet. Hence, focus will be on bottoming signal as it approaches 1.1946. In any case, medium term outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.3381 resistance holds, in case of strong rebound.

In the longer term picture, consolidative pattern from 1.1946 (2016 low) could still extend with another rising leg. But after all, decisive break of 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1946 at 1.5466 is needed to indicate long term reversal. Otherwise, an eventual downside breakout will remain in favor.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD edged higher to 1.3627 last week but settled back into established right range quickly. Initial bias remains neutral this week first. On the upside, break of 1.3642 will resume the rebound to 1.3748 resistance. Firm break there will revive the bullish case that correction from 1.4248 has completed with three waves down to 1.3158. Further rally should then be seen to retest 1.4248 high. On the downside, however, break of 1.3356 will bring retest of 1.3158 low.

In the bigger picture, as long as 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.3164 holds, up trend from 1.1409 (2020 low) is still in progress. On resumption, next target will be 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 to 1.1409 at 1.5134. Nevertheless sustained break of 1.3164 will argue that whole rise from 1.1409 has completed and bring deeper fall to 61.8% retracement at 1.2493.

In the longer term picture, a long term bottom should be in place at 1.1409, on bullish convergence condition in monthly MACD. Rise from there would target 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 to 1.1409 at 1.5134. Reaction from there would reveal whether rise from 1.1409 is just a correction, or developing into a long term up trend.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2337; (P) 1.2421; (R1) 1.2583; More…

GBP/USD retreat slightly after edging higher to 1.2504 and intraday bias is turned neutral first. Some consolidations could be seen. But downside should be contained well above 1.2185 support to bring another rally. On the upside, break of 1.2504 will resume the whole rebound from 1.2036. Sustained trading above 38.2% retracement of 1.3141 to 1.2036 at 1.2458 will pave the way to 61.8% retracement at 1.2716.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 are seen as a corrective pattern to rise from 1.0351 (2022 low). Strong rebound from 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 (2022 low) to 1.3141 at 1.2075 will argue that current rise from 1.2036 is already the second leg. However, while further rally could be seen, upside should be limited by 1.3141 to bring the third leg of the pattern.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral and consolidation from 1.3381 could extend. Further rise is still mildly in favor as long as 1.2960 support holds. On the upside, decisive break of 1.3381 will extend the rise from 1.2391 and target 61.8% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2391 at 1.3618 next. However, on the downside, sustained break of 1.2960 will indicate that rebound from 1.2391 has completed earlier than expected. Deeper fall would then be seen to 1.2773 support for confirmation.

In the bigger picture, medium term decline from 1.4376 (2018 high) should have completed at 1.2391. Rise from 1.2391 is seen as the third leg of the corrective pattern from 1.1946 (2016 low). Further rise could be seen through 1.4376 in medium term. On the downside, though, break of 1.2773 support will dampen this view. Focus will be turned back to 1.2391 low and break will resume the fall from 1.4376 to 1.1946.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2623; (P) 1.2642; (R1) 1.2665; More…

Intraday bias in GBP/USD stays neutral first. On the upside, firm break of 1.2702 resistance will argue that pull back from 1.2859 has completed, and bring retest of this high instead. Nevertheless, rejection by 1.2702 will keep risk on the downside. Sustained trading below 1.2633 resistance turned support will argue that whole rise from 1.2298 has completed, and target 1.2445 and below.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern that is still in progress. Break of 1.2445 support will confirm that another falling leg has started and target 1.2036 cluster support again (38.2% retracement of 1.0351 (2022 low) to 1.3141 at 1.2075. Nevertheless, break of 1.2892 resistance will argue that larger up trend from 1.0351is ready to resume through 1.3141.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2577; (P) 1.2604; (R1) 1.2623; More…

Despite today’s rebound, GBP/USD is staying below 1.2691 resistance and intraday bias remains neutral first. On the upside, break of 1.2691 resistance will indicate that correction from 1.2826 has completed. Intraday bias will be back on the upside for retesting 1.2826. Nevertheless, decisive break of 1.2499 will argue that whole rise from 1.2036 has completed and turn near term outlook bearish.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low). Rise from 1.2036 is seen as the second leg, which could be still in progress. But upside should be limited by 1.3141 to bring the third leg of the pattern. Meanwhile, break of 1.2499 support will argue that the third leg has already started for 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 (2022 low) to 1.3141 at 1.2075 again.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD edged lower to 1.2872 last week but recovered notably since then. Initial bias is neutral first this week first. Corrective fall from 1.3514 could still extend lower through 1.2872, as low as 1.3209 resistance holds. Nevertheless, firm break of 1.3209 will turn bias to the upside for retesting 1.3514 instead.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.1958 medium term bottom is not completed yet despite current pull back from 1.3514. Such rally is expected to resume later to 1.4376 key resistance. Reactions from there would decide whether it’s in consolidation from 1.1946 (2016 low). Or, firm break of 1.4376 will indicate long term bullish reversal. In any case, for now, outlook will stay bullish as long as 1.2582 resistance turned support holds.

In the longer term picture, it’s still unsure whether long term down trend form 2.1161 (2007 high) has completed at 1.1946 already. Focus is immediately on 55 month EMA (now at 1.3489) and sustained break will be the first serious sign of long term reversal. Further break of trend line resistance (now at 1.3922) will be another signal. Focus would then be turned to 1.4376 key resistance for confirmation.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2979; (P) 1.3015; (R1) 1.3082; More

GBP/USD’s rise from 1.2725 continues today and intraday bias stays on the upside for 1.3209 resistance. As noted before, correction from 1.3514 should have completed at 1.2725, after hitting 50% retracement of 1.1958 to 1.3514 at 1.2736. Decisive break of 1.3209 should confirm this bullish case and target a test on 1.3514. On the downside, break of 1.2993 will dampen this bullish view and turn bias to the downside for 1.2725 low instead.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.1958 is expected resume after correction from 1.3514 completes. Next target is 1.4376 key resistance. Reactions from there would decide whether it’s in consolidation from 1.1946 (2016 low). Or, firm break of 1.4376 will indicate long term bullish reversal. However, sustained break of 1.2582 resistance turned support will dampen these views and bring retest of 1.1958 low instead.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3858; (P) 1.3887; (R1) 1.3935; More….

At this point, GBP/USD is still limited below 1.3929 minor resistance, and bounded below near term falling trend line. Intraday bias remains neutral first. On the upside, firm break of 1.3929 will be the first sign of reversal. That is, the choppy pull back from 1.4345 could have completed at 1.3711 already. In this case, intraday bias will be turned back to the upside for 1.4144 resistance for confirming this bullish view. On the downside, break of 1.3711 will resume the decline from 1.4345 through 1.3651 resistance turned support. At this point, we’ll look for strong support from 38.2% retracement of 1.1946 to 1.4345 at 1.3429 to contain downside and bring rebound.

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2543; (P) 1.2595; (R1) 1.2687; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD is turned neutral with the current retreat. Another rise could be seen as long as 1.2164 support holds. Above 1.2647 will extend the rebound from 1.1409 to 61.8% projection of 1.1409 to 1.2485 from 1.2164 at 1.2829. However, break of 1.2164 support will indicate completion of the rebound and turn bias back to the downside for retesting 1.1409 low.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD’s fall from 1.3833 accelerated to as low as 1.3423 last week. The development argues that larger decline from 1.4248 is still in progress. Initial bias stays on the downside this week first 1.3410 low first. Break will confirm this bearish case and target 1.3164 fibonacci level next. On the upside, above 1.3604 minor resistance will mix up the near term outlook and turn intraday bias neutral first.

In the bigger picture, the structure of the fall from 1.4248 suggests that it’s a correction to the up trend from 1.1409 (2020 low) only. While deeper fall cannot be ruled out yet, downside should be contained by 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.3164, at least on first attempt, to bring rebound. On the upside, firm break of 1.4376 key resistance (2018 high) will add to the case of long term bullish reversal. However, sustained trading below 1.3164 will revive some medium term bearishness and target 61.8% retracement at 1.2493.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2893; (P) 1.2947; (R1) 1.2978; More….

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral as consolidation form 1.2762 is still extending. Further decline is expected as long as 1.3035 resistance holds. Break of 1.2762 will resume the fall from 1.3482 to 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.3482 at 1.2690. Decisive break there will argue that the rise from 1.1409 might be completed, and bring deeper fall to 61.8% retracement at 1.2201. Though, break of 1.3035 will suggest that decline from 1.3482 is merely a corrective move, and turn bias back to the upside for retesting 1.3482.

In the bigger picture, while the rebound from 1.1409 was strong, it’s limited by both 1.3514 resistance, as well as 55 month EMA (now at 1.3317). The development keeps outlook bearish. Sustained break of 55 week EMA (now at 1.2719) will add to medium term bearishness for a new low below 1.1409 at a later stage, resuming the down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high).
