GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3451; (P) 1.3495; (R1) 1.3535; More

GBP/USD’s strong recovery, with 4 hour MACD crossed above signal line, suggests temporary bottoming again at 1.3450, ahead of 1.3448 fibonacci level. Intraday bias is turned neutral again as fall from 1.4376 failed to resume. For now, near term outlook will remain bearish as long as 1.3607 minor resistance holds and deeper decline is expected. Firm break of 1.3448 will pave the way to next fibonacci level at 1.2874. However, break of 1.3607 will indicate near term bottoming, with bullish convergence condition in 4 hour MACD. Intraday bias will then be turned back to the upside for 55 day EMA (now at 1.3815).

In the bigger picture, current development suggests that whole medium term rebound from 1.1936 (2016 low) has completed at 1.4376 already, with trend line broken, on bearish divergence condition in daily MACD, after rejection from 55 month EMA (now at 1.4223). 38.2% retracement of 1.1936 (2016 low) to 1.4376 at 1.3448 was almost met. Break there will target 61.8% retracement at 1.2874 and below. Outlook will stay bearish as long as 55 day EMA (now at 1.3815) holds, even in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3872; (P) 1.3934; (R1) 1.3975; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral for consolidation above 1.3894 temporary low. Another recovery cannot be ruled out. But upside should be limited by 1.4089 minor resistance to bring fall resumption. Below 1.3894 will extend the fall from 1.4376 and target 1.3711 key support next. However, firm break of 1.4089 will turn focus back to 1.4376 high instead.

In the bigger picture, bearish divergence condition in daily MACD is raising the chance of medium term reversal. Also, note that GBP/USD has just failed to sustain above 55 month EMA (now at 1.4257) again. Focus is back on 1.3711 support. Firm break there will confirm medium term reversal and target 38.2% retracement of 1.1936 (2016 low) to 1.4376 at 1.3448 first. Break will target 61.8% retracement at 1.2874 and below. For now, sustained break of 55 month EMA is needed to confirm medium term upside momentum. Otherwise, we won’t turn bullish even in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3826; (P) 1.3877; (R1) 1.3939; More….

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral at this point. Decline from 1.4345 is in favor to extend. Below 1.3711 will resume the fall from 1.4345 through 1.3651 resistance turned support. We’ll look for strong support from 38.2% retracement of 1.1946 to 1.4345 at 1.3429 to contain downside and bring rebound. This will be the preferred case as long as 1.4144 resistance holds.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.3038 support holds, medium term outlook in GBP/USD will remains bullish. Rise from 1.1946 is at least correcting the long term down from 2007 high at 2.1161. Further rally would be seen back to 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1946 (2016 low) at 1.5466. However, GBP/USD fails to sustain above 55 month EMA (now at 1.4259) so far. Break of 1.3038 support, will suggest that rise from 1.1946 has completed and will turn outlook bearish for retesting this low.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2152; (P) 1.2189; (R1) 1.2240; More

Break of 1.2287 resistance argues that rebound from 1.2036 is resuming. Intraday bias is back on the upside for 1.2336 resistance first. Firm break there will target 38.2% retracement of 1.3141 to 1.2036 at 1.2458. On the downside, below 1.2184 minor support will turn intraday bias neutral first.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.3141 medium term top could be viewed as part of a correction to rise from 1.0351 (2022 low). An interim bounce could be seen as the second leg of the pattern. But upside should be limited well below 1.3141 to start the third leg. Nevertheless, the pattern would be a range pattern as long as 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.3141 at 1.2075 holds.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1024; (P) 1.1125; (R1) 1.1193; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral for the moment. On the downside, break of 1.1023 minor support will indicate that rebound from 1.0351 is over. Intraday bias will be back on the downside for retesting 1.0351. On the upside, firm break of 61.8% retracement of 1.2292 to 1.0351 at 1.1551 will pave the way to 1.2292 resistance.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4248 (2018 high) is resuming long term down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high). Next target is 100% projection of 2.1161 to 1.3503 from 1.7190 at 0.9532. There is no scope of a medium term rebound as long as 1.1759 support turned resistance holds.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2297; (P) 1.2346; (R1) 1.2400; More….

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the upside as rise from 1.2065 is in progress. Current developments argues that rebound from 1.1409 is possibly still in progress. Further rally would be seen to 1.2647 and break will target 61.8% projection of 1.1409 to 1.2647 from 1.2065 at 1.2830 next. On the downside, however, below 1.2204 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for 1.2065 instead.

In the bigger picture, while the rebound from 1.1409 is strong, there is no indication of trend reversal yet. Down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) should still resume sooner or later. Next medium term target will be 61.8% projection of 1.7190 to 1.1946 from 1.3514 at 1.0273. In any case, outlook will remain bearish as long as 1.3514 resistance holds, in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2289; (P) 1.2363; (R1) 1.2411; More….

GBP/USD’s fall from 1.2813 continues today and intraday bias remains on the downside for 1.2065 support. Decisive break of 1.2065 support will confirmation completion of whole rebound from 1.1409. Deeper decline would then be seen to retest 1.1409 low. On the upside, above 1.2389 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral first. But further fall will remain in favor as long as 1.2542 resistance holds.

In the bigger picture, while the rebound from 1.1409 is strong, there is not enough evidence for trend reversal yet. Down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) should still resume sooner or later. However, decisive break of 1.3514 should at least confirm medium term bottoming and turn outlook bullish for 1.4376 resistance first.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2494; (P) 1.2535; (R1) 1.2591; More….

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the downside at this point. Break of 1.2647 resistance will resume the whole rise from 1.1409 and target 61.8% projection of 1.1409 to 1.2647 from 1.2065 at 1.2830 next. On the downside, however, below 1.2375 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for 1.2065 instead.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2534; (P) 1.2585; (R1) 1.2669; More…

GBP/USD’s break of 1.2615 minor resistance suggests that pull back from 1.2731 has completed at 1.2501 already. Intraday bias is back on the upside for 1.2731 first. Decisive break there will resume whole rally from 1.2036 for retesting 1.3141 high next. On the downside, break of 1.2501 will resume the pull back to 55 D EMA (now at 1.2462).

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern to rise from 1.0351 (2022 low). Rise from 1.2036 is seen as the second leg, that could still extend through 1.2731. But upside should be limited by 1.3141 o bring the third leg of the pattern. Meanwhile, sustained trading below 55 EMA will argue that the third leg has already started for 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 (2022 low) to 1.3141 at 1.2075 again, and possibly below.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3653; (P) 1.3702; (R1) 1.3748; More….

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral for the moment and some more consolidations could be seen. Further rise is expected with 1.3608 support intact. On the upside, break of 1.3758 will extend the whole up trend from 1.1409 to 61.8% projection of 1.1409 to 1.3482 from 1.2675 at 1.3956 next. On the downside, however, break of 1.3608 support will now suggest short term topping, on bearish divergence condition in 4 hour MACD. Intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for deeper pull back.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.1409 medium term bottom is in progress. Further rally would be seen to 1.4376 resistance and above. On the downside, break of 1.2675 support is needed to indicate completion of the rise. Otherwise, outlook will stay cautiously bullish even in case of deep pullback.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2863; (P) 1.2912; (R1) 1.2959; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral first. Further rise is still in favor with 1.2845 support intact. On the upside, above 1.3082 will resume the rebound from 1.2675 for retesting 1.3482 high. On the downside, however, break of 1.2845 will indicate that fall from 1.3482 is not over. Intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.3482 at 1.2690.

In the bigger picture, focus stays on 1.3514 key resistance. Decisive break there should also come with sustained trading above 55 month EMA (now at 1.3307). That should confirm medium term bottoming at 1.1409. Outlook will be turned bullish for 1.4376 resistance and above. Nevertheless, rejection by 1.3514 will maintain medium term bearishness for another lower below 1.1409 at a later stage.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2426; (P) 1.2637; (R1) 1.2783; More

Intraday bias in GPB/USD remains on the downside at this point. Sustained trading below 61.8% retracement of 1.1958 to 1.3514 at 1.2552 will pave the way to retest 1.1958 low. On the upside, break of 1.2725 support turned resistance will retain near term bullishness and turn bias to the upside for 1.3200 resistance instead.

In the bigger picture, current development argues that rise from 1.1958 might have completed at 1.3541. It’s merely just the third leg of the consolidation pattern from 1.1946 (2016 low). Decisive break of 1.1946 will resume larger down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high). Though, in any case, there will be no confirmation of bullish trend reversal as long as 1.4376 resistance holds.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD’s strong rally last week suggests that corrective decline from 1.3381 has completed at 1.2865 already. Also, 1.2774 key support level was defended. Rise from 1.2391 is likely in progress. Intraday bias is now on the upside this week for retesting 1.3381 high. On the downside, below 1.2987 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for 1.2865 support instead..

In the bigger picture, medium term decline from 1.4376 (2018 high) halted and made a medium term bottom after hitting 1.2391. Rebound from 1.2391 is seen as a corrective move for now. In case of another rise, strong resistance could be seen around 61.8% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2391 at 1.3618 to limit upside. On the downside, break of 1.2773 support will suggests that such corrective rise is completed and bring retest of 1.2391 low first.

In the longer term picture, consolidative pattern from 1.1946 (2016 low) is still in progress. For now, we’d expect any downside attempt to be contained by 1.1946 low first. But decisive break of 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1946 at 1.5466 is needed to indicate long term reversal. Otherwise, an eventual downside breakout will remain in favor.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD’s pullback from 1.3350 extended to as low as 1.2990 last week. Initial bias remains on the downside this week for trend line support (now at 1.2971) first. Decisive break there will argue that rebound from 1.2391 has completed earlier than expected at 1.3350. Deeper fall would then be seen to 1.2773 support for confirmation. On the upside, above 1.3184 minor resistance will suggest that the pull back has completed. Intraday bias will be turned back to the upside for 1.3350.

In the bigger picture, medium term decline from 1.4376 (2018 high) should have completed at 1.2391. Rise from 1.2391 is now seen as the third leg of the corrective pattern from 1.1946 (2016 low). Further rise could be seen through 1.4376 in medium term. On the downside, though, break of 1.2773 support will dampen this view. Focus will be turned back to 1.2391 low and break will resume the fall from 1.4376 to 1.1946.

In the longer term picture, current development argues that corrective pattern from 1.1946 (2016 low) is extending with another rise. But there is no change in the long term bearish outlook as long as 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1946 at 1.5466 holds. An eventual downside breakout through 1.1946 is still in favor in the long term.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3220; (P) 1.3253; (R1) 1.3279; More

GBP/USD’s decline resumed after brief consolidation. Break of 1.3203 low confirms resumption of whole fall from 1.4376. Intraday bias is back on the downside. Sustained break of 50% retracement of 1.1946 to 1.4376 at 1.3161 will pave the way to 61.8% retracement at 1.2875 next. On the upside, break of 1.3471 resistance is now needed to indicate short term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish in case of recovery.

In the bigger picture, current development suggests that whole medium term rebound from 1.1936 (2016 low) has completed at 1.4376 already, with trend line broken firmly, on bearish divergence condition in daily MACD, after rejection from 55 month EMA (now at 1.4182). 61.8% retracement of 1.1936 (2016 low) to 1.4376 at 1.2874 is the next target. We’ll pay attention to the reaction from there to asses the chance of long term down trend resumption. For now, outlook will stay bearish as long as 55 day EMA (now at 1.3540) holds, even in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2656; (P) 1.2696; (R1) 1.2764; More….

Intraday bias in GBP/USD is turned neutral as a temporary top should be in place at 1.2755. Some consolidations would be seen but downside should be contained by 1.2500 support. On the upside, break of 1.2755 will extend the rise from 1.1409 to 61.8% projection of 1.1409 to 1.2647 from 1.2065 at 1.2830 next.

In the bigger picture, while the rebound from 1.1409 is strong, there is not enough evidence trend reversal yet. Down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) should still resume sooner or later. However, decisive break of 1.3514 should at least confirm medium term bottoming and turn outlook bullish for 1.4376 resistance first.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2227; (P) 1.2295; (R1) 1.2406; More….

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains mildly on the upside this point. Current development suggests that corrective pattern from 1.2647 might have completed and rise from 1.1409 might be resuming. Further rise could be seen to 1.2647 resistance. Break will confirm and target 61.8% projection of 1.1409 to 1.2647 from 1.2065 at 1.2830 next. On the downside, below 1.2155 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for 1.2065 instead.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD failed to break through 1.3702 resistance decisively last week and retreated. Initial bias remains neutral this week first. Further rise is in favor with 1.3428 support intact. On the upside, firm break of 1.3702 will resume larger up rise form 1.1409 to 61.8% projection of 1.1409 to 1.3482 from 1.2675 at 1.3956. However, break of 1.3428 support will turn bias to the downside, for deeper correction to 1.3134 support.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.1409 medium term bottom is in progress. Further rally would be seen to 1.4376 resistance and above. On the downside, break of 1.2675 support is needed to indicate completion of the rise. Otherwise, outlook will stays cautiously bullish in case of pullback.

In the longer term picture, a long term bottom should be in place at 1.1409, on bullish convergence condition in monthly MACD. Rise from there would target 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 to 1.1409 at 1.5134. Reaction from there would reveal whether rise from 1.1409 is just a correction, or developing into a long term up trend.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD’s rise from 1.0351 last week and the break of 1.1759 support turned resistance carries larger bullish implications. Initial bias remains on the upside this week. Firm break of 61.8% projection of 1.0351 to 1.1494 from 1.1145 at 1.1851 will pave the way to 100% projection at 1.2288. On the downside, below 1.1597 minor support will turn intraday bias neutral and bring consolidation first.

In the bigger picture, current development suggests that rise from 1.0351 is a medium term bottom. Rise from there is at least correcting whole down trend from 1.4248 (2021 high). Further rise is expected as long as 1.1145 support holds. Sustained break of 38.2% retracement of 1.4248 to 1.0351 at 1.1840 will pave the way to 61.8% retracement at 1.2759 and possibly above.

In the longer term picture, as long as 1.4248 resistance holds (2021 high), long term outlook will remain neutral at best. Down trend from 2.1161 (2007) could still resume for another low through 1.0351 at a later stage.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2953; (P) 1.3019; (R1) 1.3079; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the downside with 1.3082 minor resistance intact. Current fall should target 61.8% projection of 1.4376 to 1.3203 from 1.3362 at 1.2637 next. On the upside, above 1.3082 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral and bring consolidations first. But recovery should be limited well below 1.3362 resistance to bring fall resumption.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA (now at 1.4179). Fall from 1.4376 should extend to 61.8% retracement of 1.1946 (2016 low) to 1.4376 at 1.2874 next. Decisive break of 1.2874 will raise the chance of long term down trend resumption through 1.1946 low. On the upside, break of 1.3471 resistance is needed to be the first indication of medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish even in case of strong rebound.
