Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the upside and rebound form 1.2108 continues. Whole consolidation pattern from 1.1946 is still in progress. In the bigger picture, fall from 1.7190 is seen as part of the down trend from 2.1161. There is no sign of medium term bottoming yet. Sustained trading below 61.8% projection of 2.1161 to 1.3503 from 1.7190 at 1.2457 will target 100% projection at 0.9532. Overall, break of 1.3444 resistance is needed to confirm medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish.

GBP/USD is still staying in range of 1.2811/3125 and intraday bias remains neutral. Another rise is mildly in favor with 1.2811 intact. Break of 1.3125 will target 61.8% projection of 1.2108 to 1.3047 from 1.2588 at 1.3168. Overall, choppy rebound from 1.1946 is seen as a corrective pattern, hence, we’d be cautious on strong resistance from 1.3168 to limit upside. But firm break of 1.3168 will bring further rise towards 1.3444 key resistance. Meanwhile, break of 1.2811 support will be the first sign of reversal and will turn bias to the downside to target 1.2588 key support next.

In the bigger picture, overall, price actions from 1.1946 medium term low are seen as a corrective pattern that is still in progress. While further upside is expected, overall outlook remains bearish as long as 1.3444 key resistance holds. Larger down trend from 1.7190 is expected to resume later after the correction completes. And break of 1.2588 will indicate that such down trend is resuming.

No change in GBP/USD’s outlook. Price actions from 1.1946 is seen as a corrective pattern. Considering bearish divergence condition in 4 hour MACD, we’d stay cautious on strong resistance from 61.8% projection of 1.2108 to 1.3047 from 1.2588 at 1.3168 to limit upside. Break of 1.2932 support will be the first sign of reversal and will turn bias to the downside to target 1.2588 key support next. GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2660; (P) 1.2675; (R1) 1.2697; More

While GBP/USD rebounds today, it’s staying below 1.2813 resistance. Intraday bias stays neutral first. At this point, we’re still favoring the bearish case that consolidation pattern from 1.1946 has completed at 1.3047 already. Sustained break of 1.2614 resistance turned support should confirm our bearish view and target a test on 1.1946 low next. However, break of 1.2813 resistance will dampen our view and turn bias back to the upside for 1.3047 and above.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.7190 is seen as part of the down trend from 2.1161. Price actions from 1.1946 medium term low are seen as a consolidation pattern, which could have completed after hitting 55 week EMA. Break of 1.1946 low will target 61.8% projection of 1.5016 to 1.1946 from 1.3047 at 1.1150 next. In case the consolidation from 1.1946 extends, outlook will stay remain bearish as long as 1.3444 resistance holds.

A temporary top is in place at 1.3029 as GBP/USD lost upside moment, with 4 hour MACD crossed below signal line. Intraday bias is turned neutral for some consolidations. Downside of retreat should be contained by 1.2849 support to bring another rally. Above 1.3029 will target 1.3047 resistance first. Break of 1.3047 will target 61.8% projection of 1.2108 to 1.3047 from 1.2588 at 1.3168.

In the bigger picture, overall, price actions from 1.1946 medium term low are seen as a corrective pattern. Pull back from 1.3047 has completed after failing to sustain below 1.2614 resistance turned support. It argues that the corrective pattern from 1.1946 is still in progress for another high above 1.3047. But still, outlook remains bearish as long as 1.3444 key resistance holds. Larger down trend from 1.7190 is expected to resume later after the correction completes.

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral at this point. Consolidation from 1.3026 is still in progress. In case of stronger rise, upside should be limited below 1.3337 resistance to bring fall resumption. Break of 1.3038 will now resume decline from 1.3651 to 1.2773 key support level. However, decisive break of 1.3337 will indicate that pull back from 1.3651 is completed and medium term rise from 1.1946 is resuming.

In the bigger picture, as noted before, GBP/USD hit strong resistance from the long term falling trend line. Current development is starting to favor that corrective rebound from 1.1946 low has completed at 1.3651. Decisive break of 1.2773 will confirm this bearish case and target a test on 1.1946 low next, with prospect of resuming the low term down trend. Nonetheless, break of 1.3320 resistance will restore the rise from 1.1946 for 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1946 (2016 low) at 1.5466.

Above 1.2569 will target 1.2705/74 resistance zone. Price actions from 1.1946 are seen as a consolidation pattern. Hence, we’d expect strong resistance from 1.2705/2774 to limit upside and bring down trend resumption. On the downside, break of 1.2340 support will turn bias back to the downside for 1.2108 support. GBP/USD is staying in consolidation from 1.3381 and intraday bias remains neutral for the moment. Further rise is still mildly in favor as long as 1.2960 support holds. On the upside, decisive break of 1.3381 will extend the rise from 1.2391 and target 61.8% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2391 at 1.3618 next. However, on the downside, sustained break of 1.2960 will indicate that rebound from 1.2391 has completed earlier than expected. Deeper fall would then be seen to 1.2773 support for confirmation.

In the bigger picture, medium term decline from 1.4376 (2018 high) should have completed at 1.2391. Rise from 1.2391 is seen as the third leg of the corrective pattern from 1.1946 (2016 low). Further rise could be seen through 1.4376 in medium term. On the downside, though, break of 1.2773 support will dampen this view. Focus will be turned back to 1.2391 low and break will resume the fall from 1.4376 to 1.1946.

Therefore, we’d expect strong resistance below 1.3444 to bring larger down trend resumption. On the downside, break of 1.2755 minor support will turn bias to the downside. Further break of 1.2614 resistance turned support will now indicate near term reversal.
