GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2927; (P) 1.3055; (R1) 1.3128; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral first. On the upside, above 1.3209 will turn bias to the upside for 1.3284 resistance. Break will pave the way to retest 1.3514 high. On the downside, break of 1.2977 will bring a test on 1.2905 support next. Overall, price actions form 1.3514 are seen as developing into a corrective pattern, which might extend further, or even deeper.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.1958 medium term bottom is expected to extend higher to retest 1.4376 key resistance. Reactions from there would decide whether it’s in consolidation from 1.1946 (2016 low). Or, firm break of 1.4376 will indicate long term bullish reversal. In any case, for now, outlook will stay bullish as long as 1.2582 resistance turned support holds.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD’s decline from 1.4376 extended to as low as 1.3746 last week and there is no sign of bottoming yet. Initial bias remains on the downside this week for 1.3711 key support level. Decisive break there should confirm medium term reversal and target 1.3448 fibonacci level. On the upside, above 1.3835 minor resistance. will turn intraday bias neutral and bring consolidations first, before staging another fall.

In the bigger picture, bearish divergence condition in daily MACD is raising the chance of medium term reversal. Also, note that GBP/USD has just failed to sustain above 55 month EMA (now at 1.4257) again. Focus is back on 1.3711 support. Firm break there will confirm medium term reversal and target 38.2% retracement of 1.1936 (2016 low) to 1.4376 at 1.3448 first. Break will target 61.8% retracement at 1.2874 and below. For now, sustained break of 55 month EMA is needed to confirm medium term upside momentum. Otherwise, we won’t turn bullish even in case of strong rebound.

In the longer term picture, rise from 1.1946 (2016 low) is viewed as a corrective move, no change in this view. Focus stays on 55 month EMA (now at 1.4257). Rejection from there will turn focus back to 1.1946 low and could probably extend the down trend from 2.1161. On the other hand, sustained break of the EMA would at least bring further rally to 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1946 (2016 low) at 1.5466.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3546; (P) 1.3572; (R1) 1.3617; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the upside at this point. Corrective fall from 1.4248 could have completed with three waves down to 1.3158, after hitting 1.3164 medium term fibonacci level. Sustained trading above 1.3570 will pave the way to 1.3833 resistance next. On the downside, though, break of 1.3489 minor support will mix up the outlook and turn intraday bias neutral first.

In the bigger picture, strong support was seen from 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.3164. The development suggests that up trend from 1.1409 (2020 low) is still in progress. On resumption, next target will be 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 to 1.1409 at 1.5134. Nevertheless sustained break of 1.3164 will argue that whole rise from 1.1409 has completed and bring deeper fall to 61.8% retracement at 1.2493.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2908; (P) 1.2937; (R1) 1.2988; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral for the moment. On the downside, below 1.2768 minor support will extend the fall from 1.3047 to 1.2614 resistance turned support. Decisive break there should confirm completion of the consolidation pattern from 1.1946 and resume the larger down trend through this low. On the upside, break of 1.3047 will extend the correction with another rise towards 1.3444 key resistance.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.7190 is seen as part of the down trend from 2.1161. The rejection from 55 week EMA is maintaining bearishness in the pair. Also, at this point, as long as 1.3444 resistance holds, fall from 1.7190 is still expected to continue. Break of above mentioned 1.2614 support will affirm this bearish case.

GBP/USD’s recovery from 1.2559 extends higher today but stays below 1.2747 resistance. Intraday bias remains neutral for the moment. Outlook stays bearish with 1.2747 intact and fall from 1.3381 would still extend lower. On the downside, break of 1.2559 will target 1.2391 low first. Firm break there will resume larger down trend to 61.8% projection of 1.4376 to 1.2391 from 1.3381 at 1.2154 next. Though, break of 1.2747 resistance will confirm short term bottoming and bring stronger rebound.

In the bigger picture, medium term decline from 1.4376 (2018 high) is possibly ready to resume. Decisive break of 1.2391 would target a test on 1.1946 long term bottom (2016 low). For now, we don’t expect a firm break there yet. Hence focus will be on bottoming signal as it approaches 1.1946. In any case, medium term outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.3381 resistance holds, in case of strong rebound.

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral for the moment as range trading continues inside 1.3158/3373. On the downside, firm break of 1.3164 medium term fibonacci level will carry larger bearish implication. Fall from 1.4248 should resume and target 161.8% projection of 1.4248 to 1.3570 from 1.3833 at 1.2736. On the upside, break of 1.3372 will resume the rise from 1.3158 to 55 day EMA (now at 1.3423) and above.

In the bigger picture, focus remains on 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.3164. Sustained break there will argue that whole rise from 1.1409 has completed at 1.4248, after rejection by 1.4376 long term resistance. That will revive some medium term bearishness and and target 61.8% retracement at 1.2493. However, strong rebound from current level will revive argue that up trend from 1.1409 is still in progress, and probably ready to resume.

GBP/USD is still extending the consolidation pattern from 1.2524 and intraday bias remains neutral. Further rally is expected with 1.2203 resistance turned support intact. On the upside, break of 1.2524 will target 1.2759 fibonacci level first. Firm break there will target 61.8% projection of 1.0351 to 1.2445 from 1.1801 at 1.3095.

In the bigger picture, the rise from 1.0351 medium term term bottom (2022 low) is in progress for 61.8% retracement of 1.4248 (2021 high) to 1.0351 at 1.2759. Sustained break there will add to the case of long term bullish trend reversal. Further break of 61.8% projection of 1.0351 to 1.2445 from 1.1801 at 1.3095 could prompt upside acceleration to 100% projection at 1.3895. For now, this will remain the favored case as long as 1.1801 support holds, even in case of deep pull back.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.4052; (P) 1.4165; (R1) 1.4229; More…..

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral as consolidation from 1.4345 continues. In case of another fall, downside should be contained by 1.3915 support to bring rally resumption. On the upside, break of 1.4345 will resume medium term up trend to 100% projection of 1.2108 to 1.3651 from 1.3038 at 1.4581 next. However, break of 1.3915 will argue that, at least, deeper pull back in underway to 1.3651 resistance turned support.

In the bigger picture, sustained break of 1.3835 key resistance level indicates that rebound from 1.1946 is at least correcting the long term down from from 2007 high at 2.1161. Further rise should now be seen back to 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1946 (2016 low) at 1.5466. Medium term outlook will stay bullish as long as 1.3038 support holds, in case of pull back.

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral for consolidation above 1.3351 temporary low. Upside of recovery should be limited below 1.3606 minor resistance to bring fall resumption. On the downside, break of 1.3351 will extend the decline from 1.4248 to 1.3164 fibonacci level next.

In the bigger picture, the structure of the fall from 1.4248 suggests that it’s a correction to the up trend from 1.1409 (2020 low) only. While deeper fall cannot be ruled out yet, downside should be contained by 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.3164, at least on first attempt, to bring rebound. On the upside, firm break of 1.4376 key resistance (2018 high) will add to the case of long term bullish reversal. However, sustained trading below 1.3164 will revive some medium term bearishness and target 61.8% retracement at 1.2493.

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral and outlook stays bearish with 1.2813 resistance intact. At this point, we’re still favoring the bearish case that consolidation pattern from 1.1946 has completed at 1.3047 already. Sustained break of 1.2614 resistance turned support should confirm our bearish view and target a test on 1.1946 low next. However, break of 1.2813 resistance will dampen our view and turn bias back to the upside for 1.3047 and above.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.7190 is seen as part of the down trend from 2.1161. Price actions from 1.1946 medium term low are seen as a consolidation pattern, which could have completed after hitting 55 week EMA. Break of 1.1946 low will target 61.8% projection of 1.5016 to 1.1946 from 1.3047 at 1.1150 next. GBP/USD’s decline extends in US session and reaches as low as 1.3519 so far. While downside momentum is unconvincing as seen in 4 hour MACD, intraday bias is staying on the downside for 1.3448 fibonacci level next. On the upside, above 1.3588 minor resistance will argue that a short term bottom is formed. In that case, stronger recovery could be seen back to 4 hour 55 EMA (now at 1.3753) and above before staging another fall.

In the bigger picture, current development suggests that whole medium term rebound from 1.1936 (2016 low) has completed at 1.4376 already, with trend line broken, on bearish divergence condition in daily MACD, after rejection from 55 month EMA (now at 1.4248). Deeper decline should be seen to 38.2% retracement of 1.1936 (2016 low) to 1.4376 at 1.3448 first. Break will target 61.8% retracement at 1.2874 and below. Outlook will stay bearish as long as 55 day EMA (now at 1.3955) holds, even in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3262; (P) 1.3354; (R1) 1.3418; More

No change in GBP/USD’s outlook and intraday bias remains neutral at this point. Another fall could still be seen with 1.3539 resistance intact. On the downside, sustained break of 1.3134 should confirm another rejection by 1.3514 key resistance. Deeper decline would be seen back to 1.2675 support next. Nevertheless sustained break of 1.3539 would resume whole rise from 1.1409 and carry larger bullish implications.

In the bigger picture, focus stays on 1.3514 key resistance. Decisive break there should also come with sustained trading above 55 month EMA (now at 1.3308). That should confirm medium term bottoming at 1.1409. Outlook will be turned bullish for 1.4376 resistance and above. Nevertheless, rejection by 1.3514 will maintain medium term bearishness for another lower below 1.1409 at a later stage.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2320; (P) 1.2372; (R1) 1.2470; More

GBP/USD’s rally today and break of 1.2445/6 indicates resumption of whole rise from 1.3051. Intraday bias is back on the upside for 1.2759 fibonacci level. Firm break there will target 61.8% projection of 1.0351 to 1.2445 from 1.1801 at 1.3095. On the downside, break of 1.2273 support is needed to indicate short term topping. Otherwise, outlook will stay bullish in case of retreat.

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2839; (P) 1.2889; (R1) 1.2922; More

Focus in GBP/USD remains on 1.2844 support. Firm break there will confirm completion of the corrective rebound from 1.2661. In such case, deeper fall should be seen to retest 1.2661. Decisive break there will resume larger down trend from 1.4376. On the upside, above 1.3042 will bring another rise. But upside should be limited by 1.3316 fibonacci level to finish the rebound and bring near term reversal.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA (now at 1.4099). The structure and momentum of the fall from 1.4376 argues that it’s resuming long term down trend. And this will be the preferred case as long as 38.2% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2661 at 1.3316 holds. However, firm break of 1.3316 would bring stronger rebound to 61.8% retracement at 1.3721. And, the eventual depth of the fall from 1.4376, and the chance of hitting 1.1946 low, will depend on the strength of the interim corrective rebound from 1.2661.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2185; (P) 1.2262; (R1) 1.2314; More….

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the downside at this point. With a double top pattern completed (1.2647, 1.2645), corrective rebound from 1.1409 should have completed. Deeper fall would be seen to retest 1.1409 low. On the upside, though, break of 1.2467 resistance will turn bias back to the upside for 1.2647 resistance instead.

In the bigger picture, while the rebound from 1.1409 is strong, there is no indication of trend reversal yet. Down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) should still resume sooner or later. Next medium term target will be 61.8% projection of 1.7190 to 1.1946 from 1.3514 at 1.0273. In any case, outlook will remain bearish as long as 1.3514 resistance holds, in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2715; (P) 1.2875; (R1) 1.2976; More….

GBP/USD’s fall from 1.3482 resumed after brief recovery and hits as low as 1.2773 so far. Intraday bias is back on the downside for 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.3482 at 1.2690. Strong rebound from there will suggest that such decline is merely a corrective move. Break of 1.3035 minor resistance will turn bias back to the upside for rebound. However, sustained break of 1.2690 will argue that the rise from 1.1409 might be completed, and bring deeper fall to 61.8% retracement at 1.2201.

In the bigger picture, immediate focus is still on 1.3514 resistance. Decisive break there should at least confirm medium term bottoming at 1.1409. Further rise should be seen to 1.4376 resistance first. Though, rejection by 1.3514 will retain bearishness for resuming the down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) at a later stage.

Intraday bias in GBP/USD stays neutral as range trading continues. On the downside, break of 1.1914 will resume the decline from 1.2446 for 1.1840 support and possibly below. On the upside, break of 1.2146 resistance will turn bias back to the upside for further rebound to 1.2269 and above.

In the bigger picture,as long as 1.1840 support holds, rise from 1.0351 medium term bottom (2022 low) should still continue to 61.8% retracement of 1.4248 (2021 high) to 1.0351 at 1.2759. However, decisive break of 1.1840 will complete a double top pattern (1.2445, 1.2446) after rejection by 55 week EMA (now at 1.2251). Deeper decline should be seen back to 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.2445 at 1.1645.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1990; (P) 1.2037; (R1) 1.2089; More

GBP/USD recovers after hitting as low as 1.1986. But near term outlook stays cautiously bearish as long as 1.2316 resistance holds. Decisive break of 1.1946 low will confirm larger down trend resumption. Next near term target is 61.8% projection of 1.3444 to 1.1946 from 1.2774 at 1.1848 and then 100% projection at 1.1276. However, above 1.2316 will turn focus back to 1.2432 resistance. Break there will invalidate our bearish view and extend the consolidation from 1.1946 with another rise before down trend resumption.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.7190 is seen as part of the down trend from 2.1161. There is no sign of medium term bottoming yet. Sustained trading below 61.8% projection of 2.1161 to 1.3503 from 1.7190 at 1.2457 will target 100% projection at 0.9532. Overall, break of 1.3444 resistance is needed to confirm medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2992; (P) 1.3024; (R1) 1.3061; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral for the moment. With 1.2811 support intact, another rise is mildly in favor. Break of 1.3125 will target 61.8% projection of 1.2108 to 1.3047 from 1.2588 at 1.3168. Overall, choppy rebound from 1.1946 is seen as a corrective pattern, hence, we’d be cautious on strong resistance from 1.3168 to limit upside. But firm break of 1.3168 will bring further rise towards 1.3444 key resistance. Meanwhile, break of 1.2811 support will be the first sign of reversal and will turn bias to the downside to target 1.2588 key support next.

In the bigger picture, overall, price actions from 1.1946 medium term low are seen as a corrective pattern that is still in progress. While further upside is expected, overall outlook remains bearish as long as 1.3444 key resistance holds. Larger down trend from 1.7190 is expected to resume later after the correction completes. And break of 1.2588 will indicate that such down trend is resuming.
