GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.4000; (P) 1.4029; (R1) 1.4048; More….

GBP/USD recovers ahead of 1.3982 minor support but it’s limited well below 1.4243 so far. Intraday bias remains neutral for the moment. With 1.3982 minor support intact, further rise remains mildly in favor. On the upside, above 1.4243 will resume the rise from 1.3711 and target 1.4345 high first. Decisive break there will resume larger up trend and target 61.8% projection of 1.3038 to 1.4345 from 1.3711 at 1.4519 next. On the downside, however, firm break of 1.3982 will indicate completion of rebound from 1.3711. In that case, intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for retesting 1.3711.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.3038 support holds, medium term outlook in GBP/USD will remains bullish. Rise from 1.1946 is at least correcting the long term down from 2007 high at 2.1161. Further rally would be seen back to 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1946 (2016 low) at 1.5466. However, GBP/USD fails to sustain above 55 month EMA (now at 1.4259) so far. Break of 1.3038 support, will suggest that rise from 1.1946 has completed and will turn outlook bearish for retesting this low.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3013; (P) 1.3047; (R1) 1.3077; More

GBP/USD’s rebound from 1.2773 extends to as high as 1.3103 so far today. Intraday bias remains on the upside for 1.3267 resistance. Break will target 1.3444 key resistance level next. Price actions from 1.1946 are still seen as a corrective pattern. Hence, we’d expect strong resistance from 1.3444 to limit upside to bring larger down trend reversal eventually. On the downside, below 1.3018 minor support will turn intraday bias neutral first.

In the bigger picture, overall, price actions from 1.1946 medium term low are seen as a corrective pattern. While further rise cannot be ruled out, larger outlook remains bearish as long as 1.3444 key resistance holds. Down trend from 1.7190 (2014 high) is expected to resume later after the correction completes. And break of 1.2588 will indicate that such down trend is resuming.

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.4052; (P) 1.4082; (R1) 1.4127; More

GBP/USD is staying in consolidation from 1.4165 and intraday bias remains neutral first. Further rise is expected with 1.4008 resistance turned support intact. On the upside, break of 1.4165 will resume the rise from 1.3668 to retest 1.4240 high. On the downside, however, firm break of 1.4008 will delay the bullish case and extend the corrective pattern from 1.4240 with another falling leg.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.3482 resistance turned support holds, up trend from 1.1409 should still continue. Decisive break of 1.4376 resistance will carry larger bullish implications and target 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1409 (2020 low) at 1.5134. However, firm break of 1.3482 support will argue that the rise from 1.1409 has completed and bring deeper fall to 1.2675 support and below.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2866; (P) 1.2908; (R1) 1.2961; More

GBP/USD recovers further today but stays well below 1.3175 resistance. Intraday bias remains neutral first. On the downside, break of 1.2853 will turn bias to the downside for retesting 1.2675 support and 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.3482 at 1.2690. On the upside, however, break of 1.3175 will resume the rebound from 1.2675 to retest 1.13482 high.

In the bigger picture, focus stays on 1.3514 key resistance. Decisive break there should also come with sustained trading above 55 month EMA (now at 1.3307). That should confirm medium term bottoming at 1.1409. Outlook will be turned bullish for 1.4376 resistance and above. Nevertheless, rejection by 1.3514 will maintain medium term bearishness for another lower below 1.1409 at a later stage.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3743; (P) 1.3778; (R1) 1.3826; More….

GBP/USD’s break of 1.3816 minor resistance suggests that corrective pull back from 1.4240 has completed with three waves down to 1.3669, ahead of 38.2% retracement of 1.2675 to 1.4240 at 1.3642. Intraday bias is back on the upside for 1.4000 resistance and then 1.4240 high. On the downside, break of 1.3755 minor support will turn intraday bias back to the downside for 1.3669 again.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.1409 medium term bottom is in progress. Further rally would be seen to 1.4376 resistance and above. Decisive break there will carry larger bullish implications and target 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1409 (2020 low) at 1.5134. On the downside, break of 1.3482 resistance turned support is needed to be first indication of completion of the rise. Otherwise, outlook will stay cautiously bullish even in case of deep pullback.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2646; (P) 1.2699; (R1) 1.2739; More…

No change in GBP/USD’s outlook and intraday bias remains neutral. Consolidation from 1.2826 is extending and deeper fall cannot be ruled out. But downside should be contained above 1.2499 support to bring rebound. On the upside, firm break of 1.2774 resistance will suggest that consolidation pattern has completed. Further rise should be seen through 1.2826 to resume the rally from 1.2036. Next target will be 1.3141 high.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low). Rise from 1.2036 is seen as the second leg that’s in progress. Upside should be limited by 1.3141 to bring the third leg of the pattern. Meanwhile, break of 1.2499 support will argue that the third leg has already started for 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 (2022 low) to 1.3141 at 1.2075 again.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3315; (P) 1.3356; (R1) 1.3410; More….

GBP/USD’s rally is still in progress and intraday bias stays on the upside. Firm break of 161.8% projection of 1.2065 to 1.2813 from 1.2251 at 1.3461 will target 1.3514 key resistance next. On the downside, below 1.3351 minor support will turn intraday bias neutral first. But break of 1.3053 support is needed to indicate short term topping. Otherwise, outlook will remain bullish in case of retreat.

In the bigger picture, immediate focus is now on 1.3514 resistance. Decisive break there should at least confirm medium term bottoming at 1.1409. Further rise should be seen to 1.4376 resistance first. Though, rejection by 1.3514 will retain bearishness for resuming the down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) at a later stage.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2743; (P) 1.2797; (R1) 1.2839; More

No change in GBP/USD’s outlook as it’s staying in range of 1.2725/2927. Intraday bias remains neutral first. On the upside, above 1.2927 resistance will bring stronger rebound to 1.3071 and possibly above. On the downside, break of 1.2725 should extend recent fall to retest 1.2661 key support. After all, price actions from 1.2661 are viewed as a consolidation pattern. Even in case of strong rebound, upside should be limited by 1.3316 fibonacci level to bring down trend resumption eventually.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA. The structure and momentum of the fall from 1.4376 argues that it’s resuming long term down trend. And this will be the preferred case as long as 38.2% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2661 at 1.3316 holds. However, firm break of 1.3316 would bring stronger rebound to 61.8% retracement at 1.3721. And, the eventual depth of the fall from 1.4376, and the chance of hitting 1.1946 low, will depend on the strength of the interim corrective rebound from 1.2661.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2023; (P) 1.2081; (R1) 1.2116; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD stays neutral at this point. Further decline is still mildly in favor. On the downside, break of 1.1960 will resume the fall from 1.2446, as the third leg of the corrective pattern from 1.2445, to 1.1840 support, and possibly below. On the upside, though, break of 1.2192 will resume the rise from 1.1960 to retest 1.2445/6.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.0351 medium term bottom is at least correcting whole down trend from 1.4248 (2021 high). Further rise is expected as long as 1.1644 resistance turned support holds. Next target is 61.8% retracement of 1.4248 to 1.0351 at 1.2759. Sustained break there will pave the way back to 1.4248.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2040; (P) 1.2123; (R1) 1.2255; More

GBP/USD is staying in consolidation above 1.1932 and intraday bias remains neutral. Outlook stays bearish with 1.2666 resistance intact. On the downside, sustained break of 61.8% projection of 1.3297 to 1.2154 from 1.2666 at 1.1960 will extend larger down trend to 100% projection at 1.1523 next.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4248 (2018 high) could be a leg inside the pattern from 1.1409 (2020 low), or resuming the longer term down trend. Deeper decline is expected as long as 1.2666 resistance holds. On resumption, next target is 1.1409 low.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2934; (P) 1.2967; (R1) 1.3007; More

GBP/USD’s fall from 1.3047 accelerates to as low as 1.2809 and broke 1.2844 support. The development, and the break of near term channel support, suggest reversal in the pair. That is, the rise from 1.2108 could be finished at 1.3047 already. Intraday bias is turned back to the downside for 1.2614 resistance turned support. Also, noted again that we are still viewing price actions from 1.1946 as a corrective move. Break of 1.2614 will indicate that such correction is finished too and the larger downtrend is is resuming for new low below 1.1946. This will be the mildly preferred case now as long as 1.3047 resistance holds.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.7190 is seen as part of the down trend from 2.1161. There are signs of reversal, like breaking of 55 week EMA, weekly MACD turned positive, and monthly MACD crossed above signal line. But still, break of 1.3444 resistance is need to confirm medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will remains bearish for extend the down trend through 1.1946 low.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD stayed in consolidation from 1.4232 last week and outlook is unchanged. Initial bias remains neutral this week and further rise is still in favor. On the upside, decisive break of 1.4240 resistance will resume larger up trend from 1.1409, for 1.4376 key resistance next. On the downside, though, break of 1.4090 support will extend the consolidation from 1.4240 with another falling leg. Intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for 1.4008 resistance turned support first.

In the longer term picture, a long term bottom should be in place at 1.1409, on bullish convergence condition in monthly MACD. Rise from there would target 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 to 1.1409 at 1.5134. Reaction from there would reveal whether rise from 1.1409 is just a correction, or developing into a long term up trend.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2452; (P) 1.2499; (R1) 1.2532; More

GBP/USD recovered after brief breach of 1.2434 support and intraday bias stays neutral first. On the downside, firm break of 1.2434 will confirm short term topping at 1.2678, on bearish divergence condition in 4H MACD. Intraday bias will be back on the downside for 1.1801 cluster support (38.2% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.2678 at 1.1789), as correction to whole up trend from 1.0351. On the upside, however, break of 1.2678 will resume larger up trend from 1.0351 instead.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.1801 support holds, rise from 1.0351 medium term bottom (2022 low) is expected to extend further. Sustained break of 61.8% retracement of 1.4248 (2021 high) to 1.0351 at 1.2759 will add to the case of long term bullish trend reversal. However, firm break of 1.1801 will indicate rejection by 1.2759, and bring deeper decline, even as a correction.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2381; (P) 1.2437; (R1) 1.2535; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the upside as rise from 1.2108 continues. Their pair would target 1.2569 resistance first and break will target 1.2705/74 resistance zone. But still, price actions from 1.1946 are seen as a consolidation pattern. Hence, we’d expect strong resistance from 1.2705/2774 to limit upside and bring down trend resumption. On the downside, break of 1.2340 support will turn bias back to the downside for 1.2108 support. Though, sustained break of 1.2774 will extend the rise towards 1.3444 key resistance level.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.7190 is seen as part of the down trend from 2.1161. There is no sign of medium term bottoming yet. Sustained trading below 61.8% projection of 2.1161 to 1.3503 from 1.7190 at 1.2457 will target 100% projection at 0.9532. Overall, break of 1.3444 resistance is needed to confirm medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2947; (P) 1.3009; (R1) 1.3061; More

Outlook in GBP/USD remains unchanged as corrective pattern from 1.3514 is still in progress. On the downside, sustained break of 38.2% retracement of 1.1958 to 1.3514 at 1,2920 will pave the way to 61.8% retracement at 1.2552. On the upside, break of 1.3209 should bring retest of 1.3514 high.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.1958 medium term bottom is expected to extend higher to retest 1.4376 key resistance. Reactions from there would decide whether it’s in consolidation from 1.1946 (2016 low). Or, firm break of 1.4376 will indicate long term bullish reversal. In any case, for now, outlook will stay bullish as long as 1.2582 resistance turned support holds.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2855; (P) 1.2893; (R1) 1.2958; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral as it’s still bounded in range below 1.2965 temporary top. Further rise remains in favor with 1.2755 support intact. Break of 1.2965 will target 161.8% projection of 1.2108 to 1.2614 from 1.2365 at 1.3184. At this point, price actions from 1.1946 are still seen as a correction pattern. Therefore, we’d expect strong resistance below 1.3444 to bring larger down trend resumption. On the downside, break of 1.2755 minor support will turn bias to the downside. Further break of 1.2614 resistance turned support will now indicate near term reversal.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.7190 is seen as part of the down trend from 2.1161. There is no sign of medium term reversal yet.

GBP/USD 4 Hours Chart

GBP/USD Daily Chart

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD dropped to 1.3351 last week and break of 1.3410 low confirmed resumption of whole fall from 1.4248. But as a temporary low was formed, initial bias is neutral this week first. Upside of recovery should be limited below 1.3606 resistance to bring another fall. Break of 1.3351 will turn bias back to the downside for 1.3164 fibonacci level.

In the bigger picture, the structure of the fall from 1.4248 suggests that it’s a correction to the up trend from 1.1409 (2020 low) only. While deeper fall cannot be ruled out yet, downside should be contained by 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.3164, at least on first attempt, to bring rebound. On the upside, firm break of 1.4376 key resistance (2018 high) will add to the case of long term bullish reversal. However, sustained trading below 1.3164 will revive some medium term bearishness and target 61.8% retracement at 1.2493.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2703; (P) 1.2765; (R1) 1.2803; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the downside and fall from 1.3174 is likely resumption. Break of 1.2723 support will bring retest of 1.2661 key support level next. On the upside, above 1.2927 resistance will turn bias back to the upside for another rebound. But after all, price actions from 1.2661 are viewed as a consolidation pattern.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2904; (P) 1.2932; (R1) 1.2962; More

Despite diminishing upside momentum as seen in 4 hour MACD, with 1.2830 minor support intact, further rally is still expected in GBP/USD. Current rise could target 161.8% projection of 1.2108 to 1.2614 from 1.2365 at 1.3184. At this point, price actions from 1.1946 are still interpreted as a correction pattern. Therefore, we’d expect strong resistance below 1.3444 to bring larger down trend resumption. On the downside, break of 1.2830 support will indicate short term topping. In such case, intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for 1.2614 support.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.7190 is seen as part of the down trend from 2.1161. There is no sign of medium term reversal yet. Sustained trading below 61.8% projection of 2.1161 to 1.3503 from 1.7190 at 1.2457 will target 100% projection at 0.9532. GBP/USD Daily Chart

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2250; (P) 1.2277; (R1) 1.2313; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral for the moment. Strong rebound from 55 4H EMA (now at 1.2246) will maintain near term bullishness for another rise to 38.2% retracement of 1.3141 to 1.2036 at 1.2458. However, sustained break of 4H 55 EMA will revive near term bearishness and bring retest of 1.2036 low instead.

In the bigger picture, the strong rebound from 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.3141 at 1.2075 argues that price action from 1.3141 are merely a correction to rise from 1.0351 (2022 low). Current rally from 1.2036 is tentatively seen as the second leg of the pattern. Hence, while further rally is in favor, upside should be limited by 1.3141 to start the third leg.
