GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3286; (P) 1.3322; (R1) 1.3367; More….

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the upside as rise from 1.3038 is in progress for 61.8% retracement of 1.3651 to 1.3026 at 1.3412. Sustained break there will pave the way to retest 1.3651 high. Nonetheless, rejection from 1.3412, or break of 1.3278 minor support will revive the case that price actions from 1.3026 are merely correction. And intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for 1.3026 low in that case.

In the bigger picture, as noted before, GBP/USD hit strong resistance from the long term falling trend line. Nonetheless, subsequent fall was contained by 55 week EMA (now at 1.3069). Outlook is a bit mixed. For the moment, as long as 1.3835 support turned resistance holds, medium term rise from 1.1946 are viewed as a corrective pattern. That is, we’d expect another leg in the long term down trend through 1.1946 low. However, sustained break of 1.3835 should at least send GBP/USD to 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1946 (2016 low) at 1.5466.

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.4067; (P) 1.4164; (R1) 1.4333; More…..

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the upside. Current rally is targeting 100% projection of 1.2108 to 1.3651 from 1.3038 at 1.4581 next. On the downside, below 1.4116 minor support will turn intraday bias neutral first. But retreat should be contained well above 1.3612 resistance turned support to bring another rise.

In the bigger picture, sustained break of 1.3835 key resistance level indicates that rebound from 1.1946 is at least correcting the long term down from from 2007 high at 2.1161. Further rise should now be seen back to 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1946 (2016 low) at 1.5466. Medium term outlook will stay bullish as long as 1.3038 support holds, in case of pull back.

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2320; (P) 1.2368; (R1) 1.2400; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral and outlook is unchanged. On the downside, firm break of 1.2252 minor support will turn bias to the downside, and extend the corrective pattern from 1.2445 with another falling leg. On the upside, decisive break of 1.2445 will confirm resumption of whole rise from 1.0351. Next target will be 1.2759 fibonacci level.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.0351 medium term bottom is at least correcting whole down trend from 1.4248 (2021 high). Further rise is expected as long as 1.1644 resistance turned support holds. Next target is 61.8% retracement of 1.4248 to 1.0351 at 1.2759. Sustained break there will pave the way back to 1.4248.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3037; (P) 1.3080; (R1) 1.3161; More

GBP/USD’s rise resumed by taking out 1.3125 and intraday bias is back on the upside. At this point, we’ll stay cautious on strong resistance from 61.8% projection of 1.2108 to 1.3047 from 1.2588 at 1.3168 to limit upside. However, sustained break there could extend recent rebound towards 1.3444 key resistance. But still, price actions from 1.1946 is seen as a corrective pattern and GBP/USD should feel heavy approaching 1.3444. On the downside, break of 1.2932 support will be the first sign of reversal and will turn bias to the downside to target 1.2588 key support next.

In the bigger picture, overall, price actions from 1.1946 medium term low are seen as a corrective pattern that is still in progress. While further upside is expected, overall outlook remains bearish as long as 1.3444 key resistance holds. Larger down trend from 1.7190 is expected to resume later after the correction completes. And break of 1.2588 will indicate that such down trend is resuming.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2744; (P) 1.2795; (R1) 1.2876; More

GBP/USD is staying in tight range and intraday bias remains neutral for the moment On the upside, above 1.2927 resistance will bring stronger rebound to 1.3071 and possibly above. On the downside, break of 1.2725 should extend recent fall to retest 1.2661 key support. After all, price actions from 1.2661 are viewed as a consolidation pattern. Even in case of strong rebound, upside should be limited by 1.3316 fibonacci level to bring down trend resumption eventually.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA. The structure and momentum of the fall from 1.4376 argues that it’s resuming long term down trend. And this will be the preferred case as long as 38.2% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2661 at 1.3316 holds. However, firm break of 1.3316 would bring stronger rebound to 61.8% retracement at 1.3721. And, the eventual depth of the fall from 1.4376, and the chance of hitting 1.1946 low, will depend on the strength of the interim corrective rebound from 1.2661.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2833; (P) 1.2874; (R1) 1.2919; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral first. With 1.2926 minor resistance intact, deeper fall is still in favor. We’re holding on to view that rise from 1.2108 is completed. Below 1.2768 will target 1.2614 resistance turned support next. Break there should also indicate completion of whole consolidation pattern from 1.1946 and target a retest on this low. Meanwhile, above 1.2926 minor resistance will turn focus back to 1.3047 high instead.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.7190 is seen as part of the down trend from 2.1161. The rejection from 55 week EMA is maintaining bearishness in the pair. Also, at this point, as long as 1.3444 resistance holds, fall from 1.7190 is still expected to continue. Break of above mentioned 1.2614 support will affirm this bearish case.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3776; (P) 1.3840; (R1) 1.3881; More….

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral first and range trading continues above 1.3730 support. On the downside, break of 1.3730 will resume the fall from 1.4248, as the third leg of the consolidation pattern from 1.4240, to 1.3668 support and possibly below. On the upside, break of 1.4000 will turn bias back to the upside for retesting 1.4240/8 resistance zone instead.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.3482 resistance turned support holds, up trend from 1.1409 should still continue. Decisive break of 1.4376 resistance will carry larger bullish implications and target 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1409 (2020 low) at 1.5134. However, firm break of 1.3482 support will argue that the rise from 1.1409 has completed and bring deeper fall to 1.2675 support and below.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2491; (P) 1.2564; (R1) 1.2619; More…

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains mildly on the upside at this point. Fall from 1.2892 could have completed with three waves down to 1.2298. Further rise should be seen and break of 61.8% projection of 1.2298 to 1.2568 from 1.2471 will target 100% projection at 1.2741. For now, further rally will be expected as long as 1.2471 support holds, in case of retreat.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern. Fall from 1.2892 is seen as the third leg which might have completed already. Break of 1.2892 resistance will argue that larger up trend from 1.0351(2022 low) is ready to resume through 1.3141. Meanwhile, break of 1.2298 support will extend the corrective pattern instead.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD’s rally continued last week even though it has been losing upside momentum. Further rise should be seen to 1.3184 projection level. But overall, price actions from 1.1946 are viewed as a corrective pattern. Hence we’d start to look for reversal signal above 1.3184.

GBP/USD 4 Hours Chart

Initial bias in GBP/USD is back on the upside this week. Further rally should be seen to 161.8% projection of 1.2108 to 1.2614 from 1.2365 at 1.3184. At this point, price actions from 1.1946 are still interpreted as a correction pattern. Therefore, we’d expect strong resistance below 1.3444 to bring larger down trend resumption. On the downside, break of 1.2830 support will indicate short term topping. In such case, intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for 1.2614 support.

GBP/USD Daily Chart

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.7190 is seen as part of the down trend from 2.1161. There is no sign of medium term reversal yet. Sustained trading below 61.8% projection of 2.1161 to 1.3503 from 1.7190 at 1.2457 will target 100% projection at 0.9532. Overall, break of 1.3444 resistance is needed to confirm medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish.

GBP/USD Weekly Chart

In the longer term picture, no change in the view that down trend from 2.1161 is still in progress. Current momentum suggests that the down trend will go deeper than originally expected to 100% projection of 2.1161 to 1.3503 from 1.7190 at 0.9532.

GBP/USD lost momentum again after hitting 1.2965 and intraday bias is turned neutral. Further rise would be seen as long as 1.2755 minor support holds. Above 1.2965 will target 161.8% projection of 1.2108 to 1.2614 from 1.2365 at 1.3184. At this point, price actions from 1.1946 are still interpreted as a correction pattern. Therefore, we’d expect strong resistance below 1.3444 to bring larger down trend resumption. On the downside, break of 1.2755 minor support will turn bias to the downside. Further break of 1.2614 resistance turned support will now indicate near term reversal.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.7190 is seen as part of the down trend from 2.1161. There is no sign of medium term reversal yet. No change in GBP/USD’s outlook. Intraday bias remains on the downside with 1.3999 minor resistance intact. Fall from 1.4345 short term top should extend to 1.3651 resistance turned support. For the moment, it’s unsure whether the decline is correcting rise from 1.3038, or that from 1.1946, or it’s reversing the trend. Break of 1.3651 will turn focus to key fibonacci level at 1.3429. On the upside, above 1.3999 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral first.

GBP/USD was rejected by 4 hour 55 EMA and dropped sharply But it’s staying in range above 1.2476 and intraday bias remains neutral first. Another recovery cannot be ruled out. But upside should be limited by 1.2811 resistance to bring fall resumption. On the downside, break of 1.2476 will extend larger down trend from 1.4376 to 61.8% projection of 1.4376 to 1.2661 from 1.3174 at 1.2114. However, firm break of 1.2811 will be an early signal of trend reversal and turn focus back to 1.3174 resistance.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA. The structure and momentum of the fall from 1.4376 argues that it’s resuming long term down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high). And this will now remain the preferred case as long as 1.3174 structural resistance holds. GBP/USD should now target a test on 1.1946 first. Decisive break there will confirm our bearish view.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3729; (P) 1.3768; (R1) 1.3794; More

Further rise is still in favor in GBP/USD with 1.3678 minor support intact. Rebound from 1.3601 would target 1.3982 resistance first. Decisive break there will pave the way back to retest 1.4248 high. On the downside, break of 1.3678 will turn bias back to the downside for 1.3570 low, and possibly further to 1.3482 key resistance turned support.

In the bigger picture, current development argues that rise from 1.1409 (2020 low) has completed at 1.4248, after failing 1.4376 resistance. Fall from there could either be correcting the rise from 1.1409, or starting another falling leg inside long term sideway pattern. In either case, sustained break of 1.3482 resistance turned support will target 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.3164 first. Break there will pave the way to 61.8% retracement at 1.2493.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

GBP/USD’s rise extends to as high as 1.3479 so far. with 61.8% retracement of 1.3651 to 1.3026 at 1.3412. Intraday bias stays on the upside for 1.3651 high. Break will resume medium term rally from 1.1946 to 1.3835 key resistance. On the downside, below 1.3382 minor support will turn bias neutral and bring retreat before staging another rally.

On the downside, break of 1.3026 will resume the decline from 1.3651 and target 1.2773 key support level. This will also revive the case of medium term reversal. Meanwhile, on the upside, break of 1.3337 will resume the rebound from 1.3026 to 61.8% retracement of 1.3651 to 1.3026 at 1.3412 and above.

In the bigger picture, while the medium term rebound from 1.1946 was strong, GBP/USD hit strong resistance from the long term falling trend line. Outlook is turned a bit mixed and we’ll stay neutral first. On the downside, decisive break of 1.2773 key support will argue that rebound from 1.1946 has completed. The corrective structure of rise from 1.1946 to 1.3651 will in turn suggest that long term down trend is now completed. Break of 1.1946 low should then be seen. On the upside, break of 1.3835 support turned resistance will revive the case of trend reversal and target 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1946 (2016 low) at 1.5466.

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2966; (P) 1.3133; (R1) 1.3224; More….

GBP/USD recovers today but stays below 1.3138 minor resistance. Deeper fall remains mildly in favor. Firm break of 1.3026 support will resume whole decline from 1.3651 and target 61.8% projection of 1.3651 to 1.3026 from 1.3320 at 1.2934 first. Break will bring deeper decline to 1.2773 key support level. On the upside, above 1.3138 minor resistance will extend the consolidation from 1.3026 with another rise.

In the bigger picture, as noted before, GBP/USD hit strong resistance from the long term falling trend line. Current development is starting to favor that corrective rebound from 1.1946 low has completed at 1.3651. Decisive break of 1.2773 will confirm this bearish case and target a test on 1.1946 low next, with prospect of resuming the low term down trend. Nonetheless, break of 1.3320 resistance will restore the rise from 1.1946 for 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1946 (2016 low) at 1.5466 .

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral for the moment. Another recovery could be seen, but upside should be limited by 1.2618 support turned resistance to bring another fall. Firm break of 1.2432 will resume the decline from 1.3141 and target 100% projection of 1.3141 to 1.2618 from 1.2799 at 1.2276.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.3141 medium term top is seen as a correction to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low). Deeper decline would be seen to 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.3141 at 1.2075. Strong support would be seen there to bring rebound on first attempt. But outlook will be neutral at best as long as 1.3141 resistance holds, and consolidation from there is set to extend, until further development.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2804; (P) 1.2846; (R1) 1.2898; More

GBP/USD is staying in consolidation above 1.2774 temporary low and intraday bias remains neutral for the moment. We’re holding on to view that rise from 1.2108 is completed. Hence, upside of current recovery should be limited by 1.2926 minor resistance and bring another decline. Below 1.2774 will target 1.2614 resistance turned support next.

In the bigger picture, overall, price actions from 1.1946 medium term low are seen as a corrective pattern.
