GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2659; (P) 1.2729; (R1) 1.2856; More….

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the upside for the moment. Rise from 1.1958 is targeting 100% projection of 1.1958 to 1.2582 from 1.2195 at 1.2819. Break will target 161.8% projection at 1.3205 next. On the downside, below 1.2516 minor support will turn intraday bias neutral again. But retreat should be contained well above 1.2195 support for another rally.

In the bigger picture, current development affirms the case of medium term bottoming at 1.1958, ahead of 1.1946 (2016 low). At this point, rise from 1.1958 is seen as the third leg of consolidation from 1.1946. Further rise would be seen back towards 1.4376 resistance. For now, this will remain the favored case as long as 1.2195 support holds.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1893; (P) 1.2006; (R1) 1.2070; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral and further rally is expected with 1.1777 support intact. Break of 1.2152will target 100% projection of 1.0351 to 1.1494 from 1.1145 at 1.2288 first. Sustained break there will pave the way to 1.2759 medium term fibonacci level.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.0351 medium term bottom is at least correcting whole down trend from 1.4248 (2021 high). Further rise is expected as long as 1.1145 support holds. Next target is 61.8% retracement of 1.4248 to 1.0351 at 1.2759. Sustained break there will pave the way back to 1.4248.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD rose to 1.3047 last week but quickly lost momentum again and turned sideway. Initial bias remains neutral this week first. Further rise is in favor as long as 1.2844 support holds. However, as we are still viewing price actions from 1.1946 as a corrective move, we’d expect upside to be limited below 1.3444 resistance to bring near term reversal. On the downside, break of 1.2844 will indicate short term topping and turn bias back to the downside for 1.2614 resistance turned support first.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.7190 is seen as part of the down trend from 2.1161. There are signs of reversal, like breaking of 55 week EMA, weekly MACD turned positive, and monthly MACD crossed above signal line. But still, break of 1.3444 resistance is need to confirm medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will remains bearish for extend the down trend through 1.1946 low.

In the longer term picture, no change in the view that down trend from 2.1161 is still in progress. On resumption, such decline would extend deeper to 100% projection of 2.1161 to 1.3503 from 1.7190 at 0.9532.

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1926; (P) 1.1965; (R1) 1.2040; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD stays neutral as range trading continues. On the downside, break of 1.1759 low will resume larger down trend. Next target is 100% projection of 1.2666 to 1.1932 from 1.2405 at 1.1671. On the upside, firm break of 1.2055 minor resistance will confirm short term bottoming at 1.1759. Bias will be turned back to the upside for 1.2405 resistance next.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4248 (2018 high) could be a leg inside the pattern from 1.1409 (2020 low), or resuming the longer term down trend. Deeper decline is expected as long as 1.2666 resistance holds. Next target is 1.1409 low. However, firm break of 1.2666 will bring stronger rise back to 55 week EMA (now at 1.3065).

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3848; (P) 1.3872; (R1) 1.3909; More

Outlook is unchanged and intraday bias in GBP/USD stays neutral for the moment. On the upside, break of 1.4008 should reaffirm the bullish case that correction from 1.4240 has completed. Further rise should be seen back to retest 1.4240 high. However, break of 1.3668 will extend the correction from 1.4240 with another falling leg.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.3482 resistance turned support holds, up trend from 1.1409 should still continue. Decisive break of 1.4376 resistance will carry larger bullish implications and target 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1409 (2020 low) at 1.5134. However, firm break of 1.3482 support will argue that the rise from 1.1409 has completed and bring deeper fall to 1.2675 support and below.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3209; (P) 1.3289; (R1) 1.3384; More

GBP/USD’s fall resumed after brief consolidation and hit as low as 1.3193. While further decline cannot be ruled out, we’d look for some support from 1.3164 fibonacci level to bring rebound. On the upside, break of 1.3369 minor resistance will suggest short term bottoming, and turn bias back to the upside for 1.3512 resistance first. However, sustained break of 1.3164 will carry larger bearish implication.

In the bigger picture, the structure of the fall from 1.4248 suggests that it’s a correction to the up trend from 1.1409 (2020 low) only. While deeper fall cannot be ruled out yet, downside should be contained by 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.3164, at least on first attempt, to bring rebound. On the upside, break of 1.3833 resistance will argue that the correction has completed and bring retest of 1.4248 high. However, sustained trading below 1.3164 will revive some medium term bearishness and target 61.8% retracement at 1.2493.

GBP/USD is staying gin range of 1.2853/3175 and intraday bias remains neutral for the moment. On the downside, break of 1.2853 will turn bias to the downside for retesting 1.2675 support and 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.3482 at 1.2690. On the upside, however, break of 1.3175 will resume the rebound from 1.2675 to retest 1.13482 high.

In the bigger picture, focus stays on 1.3514 key resistance. Decisive break there should also come with sustained trading above 55 month EMA (now at 1.3307). That should confirm medium term bottoming at 1.1409. Outlook will be turned bullish for 1.4376 resistance and above. Nevertheless, rejection by 1.3514 will maintain medium term bearishness for another lower below 1.1409 at a later stage.

Intraday bias will be back on the upside for retesting 1.2826. Nevertheless, decisive break of 1.2499 will argue that whole rise from 1.2036 has completed and turn near term outlook bearish.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low). Rise from 1.2036 is seen as the second leg, which could be still in progress. But upside should be limited by 1.3141 to bring the third leg of the pattern. Meanwhile, break of 1.2499 support will argue that the third leg has already started for 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 (2022 low) to 1.3141 at 1.2075 again.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.1958 medium term bottom is expected to extend higher to retest 1.4376 key resistance. Reactions from there would decide whether it’s in consolidation from 1.1946 (2016 low). Or, firm break of 1.4376 will indicate long term bullish reversal. In any case, for now, outlook will stay bullish as long as 1.2582 resistance turned support holds.

In the bigger picture, while the rebound from 1.1409 is strong, there is not enough evidence for trend reversal yet. Down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) should still resume sooner or later. However, decisive break of 1.3514 should at least confirm medium term bottoming and turn outlook bullish for 1.4376 resistance first.

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral as consolidation from 1.2036 is still extending. On the upside, firm break of 1.2270 resistance will confirm short term bottoming. Decisive break of 1.2075 fibonacci level would carry larger bearish implication and target 1.1801 support next.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.3141 medium term top could still be a correction to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low) only. But risk of complete trend reversal is rising. Sustained break of 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.3141 at 1.2075 will pave the way to 61.8% retracement at 1.1417. For now, risk will stay on the downside as long as 55 D EMA (now at 1.2446) holds, in case of rebound.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3720; (P) 1.3755; (R1) 1.3799; More

With 1.3791 minor resistance intact, intraday bias in GBP/USD stays on the downside with focus on 1.3711 key support. Decisive break of 1.3711 key support should confirm medium term reversal. That is, whole rally from 1.1946 has completed. And deeper fall should be seen to 1.3448 fibonacci level next. On the upside, above 1.3791 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral and bring consolidations first, before staging another fall.

In the bigger picture, bearish divergence condition in daily MACD is raising the chance of medium term reversal. Also, note that GBP/USD has just failed to sustain above 55 month EMA (now at 1.4248) again. Focus is back on 1.3711 support. Firm break there will confirm medium term reversal and target 38.2% retracement of 1.1946 (2016 low) to 1.4376 at 1.3448 first. Break will target 61.8% retracement at 1.2874 and below. For now, sustained break of 55 month EMA is needed to confirm medium term upside momentum. Otherwise, we won’t turn bullish even in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2647; (P) 1.2686; (R1) 1.2710; More….

GBP/USD recovers mildly but stays below 1.2783 resistance. Intraday bias remains neutral first. With 1.2642 minor support intact, corrective rebound from 1.2506 could still extend higher. But upside should be limited by 38.2% retracement of 1.3381 to 1.2506 at 1.2840. On the downside, break of 1.2642 minor support will turn intraday bias back to retest 1.2506 low. However, sustained break of 1.2840 will bring stronger rise to 61.8% retracement at 1.3047 next.

In the bigger picture, down trend from 1.4376 (2018 high) is still in progress. Break of 1.2391 would target a test on 1.1946 long term bottom (2016 low). For now, we don’t expect a firm break there yet. Hence, focus will be on bottoming signal as it approaches 1.1946. In any case, medium term outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.3381 resistance holds, in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD’s down trend accelerated to as low as 1.0837 last week and there is no sign of bottoming yet. Break of the near term channel support indicates downside acceleration. GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3145; (P) 1.3193; (R1) 1.3284; More

GBP/USD’s rebound from 1.3102 extends higher today. With 1.3244 minor resistance breached, intraday bias is mildly on the upside for 1.3362 for extending the consolidation pattern from 1.3048. Nonetheless, upside should be limited by 1.3471 to bring larger decline resumption eventually. On the downside, break of 1.3048 will resume fall from 1.4376 for 1.2874 fibonacci level next.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1936 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA (now at 1.4179). Fall from 1.4376 should extend to 61.8% retracement of 1.1936 (2016 low) to 1.4376 at 1.2874 next. We’ll pay attention to the reaction from there to asses the chance of long term down trend resumption. On the upside, sustained break of 38.2% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.3048 at 1.3555 is needed to indicate medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2311; (P) 1.2383; (R1) 1.2423; More….

Intraday bias in GBP/USD is turned neutral with today’s recovery. Some consolidations could be seen but further decline remains in favor for now. Below 1.2334 will target 1.2065 support. Break there will confirm completion of rebound from 1.1409 at 1.2813. However, break of 1.2587 will dampen this bearish view and bring retest of 1.2813 high instead.
