GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3124; (P) 1.3150; (R1) 1.3193; More….

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral at this point. Consolidation from 1.3026 is still in progress. In case of stronger rise, upside should be limited below 1.3337 resistance to bring fall resumption. Break of 1.3038 will now resume decline from 1.3651 to 1.2773 key support level. However, decisive break of 1.3337 will indicate that pull back from 1.3651 is completed and medium term rise from 1.1946 is resuming.

In the bigger picture, as noted before, GBP/USD hit strong resistance from the long term falling trend line. Current development is starting to favor that corrective rebound from 1.1946 low has completed at 1.3651. Decisive break of 1.2773 will confirm this bearish case and target a test on 1.1946 low next, with prospect of resuming the low term down trend. Nonetheless, break of 1.3320 resistance will restore the rise from 1.1946 for 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1946 (2016 low) at 1.5466.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2016; (P) 1.2065; (R1) 1.2096; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD stays neutral for the moment as sideway trading continues. On the downside, break of 1.1991 will resume the fall from 1.2445 to 55 day EMA (now at 1.1925). Firm break there will target 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.2445 at 1.1645. On the upside, break of 1.2240 minor resistance will turn bias back to the upside for retesting 1.2445 instead.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.0351 medium term bottom is at least correcting whole down trend from 1.4248 (2021 high). Further rise is expected as long as 1.1644 resistance turned support holds. Next target is 61.8% retracement of 1.4248 to 1.0351 at 1.2759. Sustained break there will pave the way back to 1.4248. This will remain the favored case as long as 55 day EMA (now at 1.1916) holds.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2250; (P) 1.2277; (R1) 1.2313; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD stays neutral at this point. Strong rebound from 55 4H EMA (now at 1.2248) will maintain near term bullishness for another rise to 38.2% retracement of 1.3141 to 1.2036 at 1.2458. However, sustained break of 4H 55 EMA will revive near term bearishness and bring retest of 1.2036 low instead.

In the bigger picture, the strong rebound from 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.3141 at 1.2075 argues that price action from 1.3141 are merely a correction to rise from 1.0351 (2022 low). Current rally from 1.2036 is tentatively seen as the second leg of the pattern. Hence, while further rally is in favor, upside should be limited by 1.3141 to start the third leg.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3493; (P) 1.3545; (R1) 1.3588; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral as consolidation from 1.3459 short term bottom continues. Break of 1.3617 will turn bias to the upside for stronger recovery. But upside should be limited by 38.2% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.3459 at 1.3809. On the downside, sustained break of 1.3448 fibonacci level will confirm resumption of whole fall from 1.4376 and target next fibonacci level at 1.2874.

In the bigger picture, current development suggests that whole medium term rebound from 1.1936 (2016 low) has completed at 1.4376 already, with trend line broken, on bearish divergence condition in daily MACD, after rejection from 55 month EMA (now at 1.4223). 38.2% retracement of 1.1936 (2016 low) to 1.4376 at 1.3448 was almost met. Break there will target 61.8% retracement at 1.2874 and below. Outlook will stay bearish as long as 55 day EMA (now at 1.3861) holds, even in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2688; (P) 1.2750; (R1) 1.2784; More…

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral at this point and outlook is unchanged. . Considering bearish divergence condition in 4H MACD, firm break of 1.2680 support will turn bias back to the downside for 55 D EMA (now at 1.2651) and possibly below. Nevertheless, break of 1.2816 will resume the rise from 1.2298 to 1.2892 resistance.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern. Fall from 1.2892 is seen as the third leg which might have completed already. Break of 1.2892 resistance will argue that larger up trend from 1.0351(2022 low) is ready to resume through 1.3141. Meanwhile, break of 1.2445 support will extend the corrective pattern with another decline instead.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1951; (P) 1.2004; (R1) 1.2087; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral and more consolidation could be seen above 1.1874. Outlook remains bearish with 1.2405 resistance intact. On the downside, break of 1.1874 will resume larger down trend to 100% projection of 1.2666 to 1.1932 from 1.2405 at 1.1671. Break there will target 1.1409 long term support.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4248 (2018 high) could be a leg inside the pattern from 1.1409 (2020 low), or resuming the longer term down trend. Deeper decline is expected as long as 1.2666 resistance holds. Next target is 1.1409 low. However, firm break of 1.2666 will bring stronger rise back to 55 week EMA (now at 1.3065).

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD failed to break through 1.3702 resistance decisively last week and retreated. Initial bias remains neutral this week first. Further rise is in favor with 1.3428 support intact. On the upside, firm break of 1.3702 will resume larger up rise form 1.1409 to 61.8% projection of 1.1409 to 1.3482 from 1.2675 at 1.3956. However, break of 1.3428 support will turn bias to the downside, for deeper correction to 1.3134 support.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.1409 medium term bottom is in progress. Further rally would be seen to 1.4376 resistance and above. On the downside, break of 1.2675 support is needed to indicate completion of the rise. Otherwise, outlook will stays cautiously bullish in case of pullback.

In the longer term picture, a long term bottom should be in place at 1.1409, on bullish convergence condition in monthly MACD. Rise from there would target 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 to 1.1409 at 1.5134. Reaction from there would reveal whether rise from 1.1409 is just a correction, or developing into a long term up trend.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2886; (P) 1.2930; (R1) 1.2958; More…

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral for consolidation below 1.3043. Downside of consolidations should be contained by 1.2859 resistance turned support to bring another rally. Break of 1.3043 will resume the rise from 1.2298 and target 100% projection of 1.2298 to 1.2859 from 1.2612 at 1.3173, which is slightly above 1.3141 key medium term resistance. However, firm break of 1.2859 will turn bias to the downside for deeper decline.

This will now remain the favored case as long as 1.2612 support holds. Firm break of 1.3141 will target 61.8% projection of 1.0351 (2022 low) to 1.3141 from 1.2298 at 1.4022.

On the upside, break of 1.2669 will resume the rebound from 1.2251 to 1.2813 high next. On the downside, though, break of 1.2480 minor support will turn bias to the downside for retesting 1.2251 support.

In the bigger picture, while the rebound from 1.1409 is strong, there is not enough evidence for trend reversal yet. Down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) should still resume sooner or later. However, decisive break of 1.3514 should at least confirm medium term bottoming and turn outlook bullish for 1.4376 resistance first.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral as it’s still bounded in range below 1.2826. More sideway trading could be seen. On the upside, decisive break of 1.2826 will resume whole rally from 1.2036. Nevertheless, another fall and break of 1.2611 will bring deeper correction to 1.2499 support instead.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low). Rise from 1.2036 is seen as the second leg that’s in progress. Upside should be limited by 1.3141 to bring the third leg of the pattern. Meanwhile, break of 1.2499 support will argue that the third leg has already started for 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 (2022 low) to 1.3141 at 1.2075 again.

Range trading continues in GBP/USD and intraday bias remains neutral. Focus stays on 1.3164 medium term fibonacci level. Sustained break there will carry larger bearish implication, and target 161.8% projection of 1.4248 to 1.3570 from 1.3833 at 1.2736. On the upside, though, break of 1.3351 support turned resistance will indicate short term bottoming, and turn bias back to the upside for 1.3512 resistance next.

In the bigger picture, immediate focus is now on 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.3164. Sustained break there will argue that whole rise from 1.1409 has completed at 1.4248, after rejection by 1.4376 long term resistance. That will revive some medium term bearishness and and target 61.8% retracement at 1.2493. However, strong rebound from current level will revive that case and up trend from 1.1409 is still in progress, and probably ready to resume.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2369; (P) 1.2438; (R1) 1.2478; More

GBP/USD’s decline continues today and intraday bias stays on the downside. Current fall from 1.3141 should target 100% projection of 1.3141 to 1.2618 from 1.2799 at 1.2276. On the upside, however, firm break of 1.2547 resistance will now indicate short term bottoming, and bring stronger rebound.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.3141 medium term top is seen as a correction to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low). Deeper decline would be seen to 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.3141 at 1.2075. Strong support would be seen there to bring rebound on first attempt. But outlook will be neutral at best as long as 1.3141 resistance holds, and consolidation from there is set to extend, until further development.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Intraday bias in GBP/USD is turned neutral with current retreat and some consolidations could be seen below 1.2816. Further rise is in favor as long as 1.2693 support holds. Above 1.2816 will resume the rally from 1.2298 to 1.2892 resistance next. On the downside, break of 1.2693 minor support will turn intraday bias to the downside for deeper pullback instead.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD’s recovery was limited well below 1.2579 resistance last week and broke 1.2382 after late selling. Initial bias is back on the downside this week. Sustained trading below 1.2391 key support will resume larger down trend for 61.8% projection of 1.4376 to 1.2391 from 1.3381 at 1.2154 next. In any case, outlook will remain bearish as long as 1.2579 resistance holds, in case of recovery.

In the bigger picture, down trend from 1.4376 (2018 high) is still in progress. Break of 1.2391 would target a test on 1.1946 long term bottom (2016 low). For now, we don’t expect a firm break there yet. Hence, focus will be on bottoming signal as it approaches 1.1946. In any case, medium term outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.3381 resistance holds, in case of strong rebound.

In the longer term picture, consolidative pattern from 1.1946 (2016 low) could still extend with another rising leg. But after all, decisive break of 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1946 at 1.5466 is needed to indicate long term reversal. Otherwise, an eventual downside breakout will remain in favor.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3642; (P) 1.3683; (R1) 1.3717; More….

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral for consolidation below 1.3745. Further rise is expected as long as 1.3518 support holds. Break of 1.3745 will turn bias to the upside, and extend the rise from 1.1409 to 61.8% projection of 1.1409 to 1.3482 from 1.2675 at 1.3956. On the downside, break of 1.3518 will indicate short term topping, on bearish divergence condition in 4 hour MACD. Intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for deeper pull back.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.1409 medium term bottom is in progress. Further rally would be seen to 1.4376 resistance and above. On the downside, break of 1.2675 support is needed to indicate completion of the rise. Otherwise, outlook will stay cautiously bullish even in case of deep pullback.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD’s strong rally last week indicates that pull back from 1.3047 has completed at 1.2588 already. And the larger correction from 1.1946 is still in progress. With a temporary top formed at 1.3029, initial bias is neutral this week first. In case of another fall, downside should be contained by 1.2849 support to bring rise resumption. Break of 1.3029 will send GBP/USD through 1.3047 to 61.8% projection of 1.2108 to 1.3047 from 1.2588 at 1.3168 next.

In the bigger picture, overall, price actions from 1.1946 medium term low are seen as a corrective pattern that is still in progress. While further upside is now in favor, overall outlook remains bearish as long as 1.3444 key resistance holds. Larger down trend from 1.7190 is expected to resume later after the correction completes. And break of 1.2588 will indicate that such down trend is resuming.

In the longer term picture, no change in the view that down trend from 2.1161 is still in progress. On resumption, such decline would extend deeper to 100% projection of 2.1161 to 1.3503 from 1.7190 at 0.9532. However, firm break of 1.3444 should confirm reversal and turn outlook bullish.
