GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2625; (P) 1.2650; (R1) 1.2690; More….

GBP/USD’s recovery from 1.2559 extends higher today but stays below 1.2747 resistance. Intraday bias remains neutral for the moment. Outlook stays bearish with 1.2747 intact and fall from 1.3381 would still extend lower. On the downside, break of 1.2559 will target 1.2391 low first. Firm break there will resume larger down trend to 61.8% projection of 1.4376 to 1.2391 from 1.3381 at 1.2154 next. Though, break of 1.2747 resistance will confirm short term bottoming and bring stronger rebound.

In the bigger picture, medium term decline from 1.4376 (2018 high) is possibly ready to resume. Decisive break of 1.2391 would target a test on 1.1946 long term bottom (2016 low). For now, we don’t expect a firm break there yet. Hence focus will be on bottoming signal as it approaches 1.1946. In any case, medium term outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.3381 resistance holds, in case of strong rebound.

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the downside as this point. At noted before, corrective recovery from 1.2014 could have completed at 1.2309. Further decline would be seen to retest 1.2014. Decisive break will resume larger down trend to 1.1946 low. On the upside, above 1.2309 will resume the corrective rise from 1.2014. But upside should be limited by 38.2% retracement of 1.3381 to 1.2014 at 1.2536 to bring down trend resumption eventually.

In the bigger picture, down trend from 1.4376 (2018 high) is extending towards 1.1946 low. We’d be cautious on bottoming there. But decisive break will resume down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) to 61.8% projection of 1.7190 to 1.1946 from 1.4376 at 1.1135. In any case, medium term outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.3381 resistance holds, in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2118; (P) 1.2153; (R1) 1.2215; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD stays neutral for the moment. Further fall is in favor as long as 1.2187 minor resistance holds. Firm break of 1.1932 will resume larger down trend from 1.4248. On the upside, above 1.2187 will resume the rebound from 1.1932 to 1.2666 resistance. Firm break there will indicate medium term bottoming.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4248 (2018 high) could be a leg inside the pattern from 1.1409 (2020 low), or resuming the longer term down trend. Deeper decline is expected as long as 1.2666 resistance holds. Next target is 1.1409 low. However, firm break of 1.2666 will bring stronger rise back to 55 week EMA (now at 1.3140).

Range trading continues in GBP/USD and intraday bias remains neutral. Outlook stays bearish as long as 1.2666 resistance holds. On the downside, break of 1.1932 will resume larger down trend from 1.4248. However, firm break of 1.2666 will suggest medium term bottoming and bring stronger rebound back towards 1.3158 support turned resistance.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3819; (P) 1.3846; (R1) 1.3863; More

GBP/USD recovers mildly but stays in range of 1.3766/3982. Intraday bias remains neutral at this point. Outlook is unchanged that corrective pattern from 1.4240 could have completed with three waves down to 1.3570. On the upside, break of 1.3982 will resume the rise from 1.3570 to retest 1.4248 high. However, break of 1.3766 support will dampen this bullish view and bring retest of 1.3570.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.3482 resistance turned support holds, up trend from 1.1409 should still continue. Decisive break of 1.4376 resistance will carry larger bullish implications. However, firm break of 1.3482 support will argue that the rise from 1.1409 has completed. GBP/USD would then be seen in another leg of long term range pattern between 1.1409 and 1.4376. Deeper fall could then be seen to 61.8% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.2493, and even below.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2240; (P) 1.2267; (R1) 1.2314; More

GBPUSD is still bounded in range below 1.2342 and intraday bias stays neutral first. With 1.2177 minor support intact, further rally is expected. On the upside, break of 1.2342 will target 1.2445/6 resistance zone. Firm break there will resume larger rally from 1.0351, and target 1.2759 fibonacci level. On the downside, however, break of 1.2177 minor support will argue that corrective pattern from 1.2445 is extending with another falling leg, and turn bias to the downside for 1.2009 support instead.

In the bigger picture, price action from 1.2445 are seen as a corrective pattern to rise from 1.0351 medium term bottom (2022 low). Resumption of the rally from 1.0351 is expected and break of 1.2446 will target 61.8% retracement of 1.4248 (2021 high) to 1.0351 at 1.2759. This will remain the favored case as long as 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.2445 at 1.1645 holds.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

GBP/USD is still staying in range of 1.2382/2579 and intraday bias remains neutral first. Further decline remains in favor too as long as 1.2579 resistance holds. Sustained break of 1.2391 key support will resume larger down trend for 61.8% projection of 1.4376 to 1.2391 from 1.3381 at 1.2154 next. Though, break of 1.2579 will indicate short term bottoming and bring stronger rebound back to 1.2783 resistance. In this case, consolidation from 1.2391 would extend with another rise, towards 1.3381 resistance, before completion.

In the bigger picture, down trend from 1.4376 (2018 high) is still in progress. Break of 1.2391 would target a test on 1.1946 long term bottom (2016 low). For now, we don’t expect a firm break there yet. Hence, focus will be on bottoming signal as it approaches 1.1946. In any case, medium term outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.3381 resistance holds, in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2053; (P) 1.2068; (R1) 1.2085; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD stays neutral at this point. On the downside, break of 1.1991 will resume the fall from 1.2445 to 55 day EMA (now at 1.1915). Firm break there will target 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.2445 at 1.1645. On the upside, break of 1.2240 minor resistance will turn bias back to the upside for retesting 1.2445 instead.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.0351 medium term bottom is at least correcting whole down trend from 1.4248 (2021 high). Further rise is expected as long as 1.1644 resistance turned support holds. Next target is 61.8% retracement of 1.4248 to 1.0351 at 1.2759. Sustained break there will pave the way back to 1.4248. This will remain the favored case as long as 55 day EMA (now at 1.1915) holds.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2420; (P) 1.2473; (R1) 1.2554; More….

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral as it fails to sustain above 38.2% retracement of 1.3381 to 1.1958 at 1.2502 so far. On the upside, sustained break of 1.2502 will pave the way to 61.8% retracement at 1.2837. On the downside, however, break of 1.2283 minor support will suggest that the rebound is completed. Intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for retesting 1.1958 low.

In the bigger picture, we’d remain cautious on medium term bottoming around 1.1946 (2016 low). Sustained trading above 55 week EMA (now at 1.2769) will extend the consolidation pattern from 1.1946 with another rise to 1.4376 resistance. Nevertheless, decisive break of 1.1946 will resume down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) to 61.8% projection of 1.7190 to 1.1946 from 1.4376 at 1.1135.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

A temporary top is in place at 1.3350 with 4 hour MACD crossed below signal line. Intraday bias in GBP/USD is turned neutral for some consolidations. Downside of retreat should be contained by 1.3109 resistance turned support to bring another rally. On the upside, above 1.3350 will target 61.8% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2391 at 1.3618 next. Sustained break will pave the way to 1.4376.

In the bigger picture, medium term decline from 1.4376 (2018 high) should have completed at 1.2391. Rise from 1.2391 is now seen as the third leg of the corrective pattern from 1.1946 (2016 low). Further rise could be seen through 1.4376 in medium term. On the downside, though, break of 1.2773 support will turn focus back to 1.2391 low and then 1.1946.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral for the moment. On the upside, break of 1.2708 resistance will indicate that correction from 1.2826 has completed. Intraday bias will be back on the upside for retesting 1.2826. Nevertheless, decisive break of 1.2499 will argue that whole rise from 1.2036 has completed and turn near term outlook bearish.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low). Rise from 1.2036 is seen as the second leg, which could be still in progress. But upside should be limited by 1.3141 to bring the third leg of the pattern. Meanwhile, break of 1.2499 support will argue that the third leg has already started for 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 (2022 low) to 1.3141 at 1.2075 again.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2802; (P) 1.2843; (R1) 1.2891; More

No change in GBP/USD’s outlook. Intraday bias stays neutral first. Also, price actions from 1.2661 are viewed as a consolidation pattern. Break of 1.2692 will bring retest of 1.2661 first. Firm break there will resume the larger down trend from 1.4376. On the upside, sustained break of 4 hour 55 EMA (now at 1.2885) could extend the consolidation with another rise. But even in case of strong rally, upside should be limited by 1.3316 fibonacci level to bring down trend resumption eventually.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA. The structure and momentum of the fall from 1.4376 argues that it’s resuming long term down trend. And this will be the preferred case as long as 38.2% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2661 at 1.3316 holds. However, firm break of 1.3316 would bring stronger rebound to 61.8% retracement at 1.3721. And, the eventual depth of the fall from 1.4376, and the chance of hitting 1.1946 low, will depend on the strength of the interim corrective rebound from 1.2661.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Outlook in GBP/USD remains unchanged as it’s staying in corrective pattern from 1.2956. Intraday bias remains neutral. Further recovery cannot be ruled out. But upside should be limited below 1.3362 resistance to bring fall resumption eventually. On the downside, break of 1.2956 will resume the decline from 1.4376 to 1.2874 fibonacci level.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA (now at 1.4179). Fall from 1.4376 should extend to 61.8% retracement of 1.1946 (2016 low) to 1.4376 at 1.2874 next. Decisive break of 1.2874 will raise the chance of long term down trend resumption through 1.1946 low. On the upside, break of 1.3362 resistance is needed to be the first indication of medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish even in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

GBP/USD is staying in consolidation form 1.3012 and intraday bias remains neutral. Deeper decline cannot be ruled out but downside should be contained above 1.2582 resistance turned support to bring rise resumption. On the upside, break of 1.3012 will resume the rise from 1.1958 to 1.3381 resistance next.

In the bigger picture, a medium term bottom was formed at 1.1958, ahead of 1.1946 (2016 low). At this point, rise from 1.1958 is seen as the third leg of consolidation from 1.1946. Further rise would be seen back towards 1.4376 resistance. For now, this will remain the favored case as long as 1.2582 resistance turned support holds. However, firm break of 1.2582 will turn focus back to 1.1946 low.

GBP/USD drops to as low as 1.2511 and break of 1.2559 confirms resumption of fall from 1.3381. Intraday bias stays on the downside for 1.2391 low. Decisive break there will confirm resumption of larger down trend. On the upside, above 1.2605 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral first. But recovery should be limited below 1.2763 resistance to bring fall resumption.

In the bigger picture, medium term decline from 1.4376 (2018 high) is possibly ready to resume. Decisive break of 1.2391 would target a test on 1.1946 long term bottom (2016 low). For now, we don’t expect a firm break there yet. Hence, focus will be on bottoming signal as it approaches 1.1946. In any case, medium term outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.3381 resistance holds, in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral for the moment. Another fall is in favor with 1.3785 minor resistance intact. On the downside, firm break of 1.3570 will resume larger fall from 1.4248 to 1.3482 resistance turned support next. Break there will target 100% projection of 1.4248 to 1.3570 from 1.3982 at 1.3304. However, on the upside, break of 1.3785 will turn bias back to the upside for 1.3982 resistance intact.

In the bigger picture, current development argues that rise from 1.1409 (2020 low) has completed at 1.4248, after failing 1.4376 resistance. Fall from there could either be correcting the rise form 1.1409, or starting another falling leg inside long term sideway pattern. In either case, sustained break of 1.3482 resistance turned support will target 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.3164 first. Break there will pave the way to 61.8% retracement at 1.2493.

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the downside at this point. Current fall from 1.2892 is in progress for 100% projection of 1.2892 to 1.2538 from 1.2708 at 1.2354. Firm break there will target 161.8% projection at 1.2207 next. On the upside, above 1.2510 minor resistance will turn bias neutral and bring consolidations first, before staging another decline.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low). Fall from 1.2892 is seen as the third leg. Deeper decline would be seen to 1.2036 support and possibly below. But strong support should emerge from 61.8% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.2452 at 1.1417 to complete the correction.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2842; (P) 1.2865; (R1) 1.2905; More….

GBP/USD recovers today but stays in consolidation from 1.3012. Intraday bias remains neutral first. Such consolidation could extend but in case of another fall, downside should be contained above 1.2582 resistance turned support to bring rise resumption.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3814; (P) 1.3842; (R1) 1.3864; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral first. On the upside, above 1.3890 will resume the rise from 1.3601 to 1.3982 resistance first. Decisive break there will l indicate that fall from 1.4248 has completed. Near term outlook will be turned bullish for retesting 1.4248. However, on the downside, break of 1.3730 support will bring retest of 1.3570/3601 support zone instead.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.3482 resistance turned support holds, we’d still treat price actions from 1.4248 as a corrective move. That is, up trend from 1.1409 (2020 low) is in favor to resume. Decisive break of 1.4376 key resistance (2018 high) would indeed carry long term bullish implications. However, sustained break of 1.3482 will at least bring deeper fall to 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.3164, or even further to 61.8% retracement at 1.2493.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3380; (P) 1.3412; (R1) 1.3446; More

No change in GBP/USD’s outlook. With 1.3347 minor support intact, rebound from 1.3203 could extend higher. But as it’s a correction, upside should be limited by 1.3617 resistance to bring reversal. On the downside, break of 1.3347 minor support will likely resume the fall from 1.47376 through 1.3203 for 50% retracement of 1.1946 to 1.4376 at 1.3161 first, and 61.8% retracement at 1.2875 next.

In the bigger picture, current development suggests that whole medium term rebound from 1.1936 (2016 low) has completed at 1.4376 already, with trend line broken firmly, on bearish divergence condition in daily MACD, after rejection from 55 month EMA (now at 1.4223). 61.8% retracement of 1.1936 (2016 low) to 1.4376 at 1.2874 is the next target. We’ll pay attention to the reaction from there to asses the chance of long term down trend resumption. For now, outlook will stay bearish as long as 55 day EMA (now at 1.3648) holds, even in case of strong rebound.
