GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1981; (P) 1.2034; (R1) 1.2111; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral for the moment. On the downside, break of 1.1899 and sustained trading below 55 day EMA (now at 1.1938) will target 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.2445 at 1.1645 next. However, strong rebound from 55 day EMA, followed by break of 1.2124 resistance, will argue that the pull back from 1.2445 has completed, and turn bias back to the upside for retesting this high.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.0351 medium term bottom is at least correcting whole down trend from 1.4248 (2021 high). Further rise is expected as long as 1.1644 resistance turned support holds. Next target is 61.8% retracement of 1.4248 to 1.0351 at 1.2759. Sustained break there will pave the way back to 1.4248. This will remain the favored case as long as 55 day EMA (now at 1.1916) holds.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2303; (P) 1.2347; (R1) 1.2395; More…

Intraday bias in GBP/USD is turned neutral first with current recovery, and some consolidations would be seen first. Upside of recovery should be limited by 1.2538 support turned resistance. On the downside, below 1.2298 will resume the fall from 1.2892 to 1.2036 support next.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low). Fall from 1.2892 is seen as the third leg. Deeper decline would be seen to 1.2036 support and possibly below. But strong support should emerge from 61.8% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.2452 at 1.1417 to complete the correction.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3097; (P) 1.3140; (R1) 1.3193; More

GBP/USD rebounds further to as high as 1.3229 so far. The development argues that further rise is in progress for 1.3257 and above. But for now, we’d continue to expect strong resistance from 1.3316 key fibonacci level to bring down trend resumption eventually. On the downside, below 1.3081 minor support will turn bias to the downside for 1.2921 support first. However, sustained break of 1.3316 would pave the way to next fibonacci level at 1.3721.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA. The structure and momentum of the fall from 1.4376 argues that it’s resuming long term down trend. And this will be the preferred case as long as 38.2% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2661 at 1.3316 holds. However, firm break of 1.3316 would bring stronger rebound to 61.8% retracement at 1.3721. And, the eventual depth of the fall from 1.4376, and the chance of hitting 1.1946 low, will depend on the strength of the interim corrective rebound from 1.2661.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2040; (P) 1.2123; (R1) 1.2255; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral for consolidation above 1.1932 temporary low. Outlook stays bearish with 1.2666 resistance intact. On the downside, sustained break of 61.8% projection of 1.3297 to 1.2154 from 1.2666 at 1.1960 will extend larger down trend to 100% projection at 1.1523 next.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4248 (2018 high) could be a leg inside the pattern from 1.1409 (2020 low), or resuming the longer term down trend. Deeper decline is expected as long as 1.2666 resistance holds. On resumption, next target is 1.1409 low.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2324; (P) 1.2359; (R1) 1.2423; More

GBP/USD’s rally continues today and intraday bias stays on the upside for 1.2445/6 resistance zone. Decisive break there will resume larger rally from 1.0351, and target 1.2759 fibonacci level. On the upside, below 1.2292 minor support will turn intraday bias neutral first. But further rally will remain in favor as long as 1.2203 resistance turned support holds.

In the bigger picture, the rise from 1.0351 medium term term bottom (2022 low) is in progress for 61.8% retracement of 1.4248 (2021 high) to 1.0351 at 1.2759. Sustained break there will add to the case of long term bullish trend reversal. Further break of 61.8% projection of 1.0351 to 1.2445 from 1.1801 at 1.3095 could prompt upside acceleration to 100% projection at 1.3895. For now, this will remain the favored case as long as 1.1801 support holds, even in case of deep pull back.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3046; (P) 1.3081; (R1) 1.3118; More….

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral and outlook is unchanged. On the downside, break of 1.3012 minor support will suggest rejection by 1.3174 key resistance, and turn bias to the downside for 1.2814 support. On the upside, sustained break of 1.3174 key resistance will argue that whole decline from 1.4376 has completed at 1.2391. In such case, further rise should then be seen to 61.8% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2391 at 1.3618.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.1946 (2016 low) to 1.4376 (2018 high) is seen as a corrective move. Similarly, fall from 1.4376 to 1.2391 also displace a corrective structure. Current development suggests that rise from 1.2391 is the third leg of the corrective pattern from 1.1946 and could extend beyond 1.4376 high. Firm break of 61.8% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2391 at 1.3618 will affirm this case. On the downside, break of 55 day EMA (now at 1.2865) will turn focus back to 1.2391 low instead.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2100; (P) 1.2161; (R1) 1.2213; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the downside as the fall from 1.2705 is in progress. Deeper decline would be seen to retest 1.1946/86 support zone. As noted before, consolidation pattern from 1.1946 is completed at 1.2705 is resuming larger down trend. Break of 1.1946 will confirm our bearish view. On the upside, above 1.2250 minor resistance will turn bias neutral again. But outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.2346 support turned resistance holds.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.7190 is seen as part of the down trend from 2.1161. There is no sign of medium term bottoming yet. Sustained trading below 61.8% projection of 2.1161 to 1.3503 from 1.7190 at 1.2457 will target 100% projection at 0.9532. Overall, break of 1.3444 resistance is needed to confirm medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish.

Corrective recovery from 1.2559 might extend higher. But upside should be limited by by 1.2865 support turned resistance to bring fall resumption. On the downside, break of 1.2668 minor support will turn bias to the downside for 1.2559 first. Break will extend the decline from 1.3381 for 1.2391 low first. However, sustained break of 1.2865 will indicate completion of fall from 1.3381. In that case, corrective pattern from 1.2391 low would be in another rising leg through 1.3381 resistance.

In the bigger picture, medium term decline from 1.4376 (2018 high) is possibly ready to resume. Decisive break of 1.2391 would target a test on 1.1946 long term bottom (2016 low). For now, we don’t expect a firm break there yet. Hence focus will be on bottoming signal as it approaches 1.1946. In any case, medium term outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.3381 resistance holds, in case of strong rebound.

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral for the moment. Another rise is in favor with 1.2343 support intact. On the upside, above 1.2545 will target 1.2759 fibonacci level first. Firm break there will target 61.8% projection of 1.0351 to 1.2445 from 1.1801 at 1.3095. However, considering bearish divergence condition in 4H MACD, firm break of 1.2343 will confirm short term topping, and turn bias back to the downside for deeper pullback.

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral at this point. On the upside, decisive break of 1.3012 will resume the whole rise from 1.1958. Further rally should be seen to 61.8% projection of 1.2195 to 1.3012 from 1.2768 at 1.3273 next. For now, outlook will remain bullish as long as 1.2768 support in case of retreat. However, break of 1.2768 will bring deeper fall back to 1.2582 resistance turned support.

In the bigger picture, a medium term bottom was formed at 1.1958, ahead of 1.1946 (2016 low). At this point, rise from 1.1958 is seen as the third leg of consolidation from 1.1946. Further rise would be seen back towards 1.4376 resistance. For now, this will remain the favored case as long as 1.2582 resistance turned support holds. However, firm break of 1.2582 will turn focus back to 1.1946 low.

GBP/USD dropped notably after failing to sustain above 4 hour 55 EMA, but downside is contained well above 1.3730 support. Intraday bias remains neutral for the moment. On the upside, break of 1.4000 resistance will argue that fall from 1.4248 has completed. Intraday bias will be turned back to the upside for retesting 1.4240/8 resistance zone. On the downside, break of 1.3730 support will resume the fall from 1.4248, as the third leg of the consolidation pattern from 1.4240, to 1.3668 support and possibly below.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.3482 resistance turned support holds, up trend from 1.1409 should still continue. Decisive break of 1.4376 resistance will carry larger bullish implications and target 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1409 (2020 low) at 1.5134. However, firm break of 1.3482 support will argue that the rise from 1.1409 has completed and bring deeper fall to 1.2675 support and below.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Intraday bias in GBP/USD stays on the upside at this point. Sustained trading above 1.2847 will confirm resumption of larger up trend from 1.0351. Next target is 61.8% projection of 1.0351 to 1.2445 from 1.1801 at 1.3095. On the downside, below 1.2738 minor support will delay the bullish case and turn intraday bias neutral first.

In the bigger picture, the strong support from 55 W EMA (now at 1.2341) is a medium term bullish sign. Outlook will stay bullish as long as 1.2306 support holds. Rise from 1.0351 medium term bottom (2022 low) is expected to extend further to retest 1.4248 key resistance (2021 high).

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Intraday bias in GBP/USD is turned neutral as it lost momentum again after hitting 1.3672. On the downside, break of 1.3542 minor support will suggest that rebound from 1.3410 has completed, and fall from 1.4248 is ready to resume. Intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for 1.3410 and below. On the upside, though, above 1.3672 will resume the rebound to 55 day EMA (now at 1.3717) first.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4248 is at least a correction to the up trend from 1.1409 (2020 low). Such correction could extend to 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.3164 before completion. However, considering the rejection by 1.4376 key resistance (2018 high), sustained trading below 1.3164 will argue that it’s indeed a bearish trend reversal and would target 61.8% retracement at 1.2493. Nevertheless, break of 1.3912 resistance will revive medium term bullishness and target 1.4248/4376 resistance zone again.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the downside for the moment. Fall from 1.3141 is in progress and should target 100% projection of 1.3141 to 1.2618 from 1.2799 at 1.2276. On the upside, though, firm break of 1.2547 resistance will now indicate short term bottoming, and bring stronger rebound.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.3141 medium term top is seen as a correction to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low). Deeper decline would be seen to 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.3141 at 1.2075. Strong support would be seen there to bring rebound on first attempt. However, sustained break of 1.2075 will raise the chance of bearish trend reversal.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the downside as fall from 1.3217 is still in progress. Current development suggests that rebound from 1.2391 has completed at 1.3217, after rejection by 1.3174 key resistance. Further fall should be seen to 1.2814 resistance turned support first. Break will bring retest of 1.2391 low. On the upside, break of 1.3217 resistance is needed to confirm resumption of the rebound. Otherwise, risk will now stay on the downside in case of recovery.

In the bigger picture, the rejection by 1.3174 key resistance revived the original view on GBP/USD. That is, decline from 1.4376 is possibly resuming long term down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high). Firm break of 1.2391 will solidify this bearish case and target 1.1946 (2016 low). However, decisive break of 1.3174 will invalidate this bearish case again and turn outlook bullish.

Reactions from there would decide whether it’s in consolidation from 1.1946 (2016 low). Or, firm break of 1.4376 will indicate long term bullish reversal. In any case, for now, outlook will stay bullish as long as 1.2582 resistance turned support holds.
