Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2158; (P) 1.2207; (R1) 1.2248; More..

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the downside at this point. Current down trend should target 200% projection of 1.3641 to 1.2999 from 1.3297 at 1.2013 next. On the upside, above 1.2399 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral again. But outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.2637 resistance holds.

In the bigger picture, based on current momentum, fall from 1.4248 (2018 high) at least at the same degree as the rise from 1.1409 (2020 low). That is, fall from 1.4248 could be a leg inside the pattern from 1.1409, or resuming the longer term down trend. In either case, deeper decline is expected as long as 1.2999 support turned resistance holds. Next target is 1.1409 low.

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral with focus on 1.2967 minor support. On the downside, break of 1.2967 will turn bias to the downside for 1.2865 support. Decisive break there will revive the bearish case that rebound from 1.2391 has completed at 1.3381. Near term outlook will turn be turned bearish. On upside, above 1.3176 will retain the bullish case and target a retest on 1.3381 high next.

In the bigger picture, medium term decline from 1.4376 (2018 high) halted and made a medium term bottom after hitting 1.2391. Rebound from 1.2391 is seen as a corrective move for now. In case of another rise, strong resistance could be seen around 61.8% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2391 at 1.3618 to limit upside. On the downside, break of 1.2773 support will suggests that such corrective rise is completed and bring retest of 1.2391 low first.

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2816; (P) 1.2860; (R1) 1.2914; More….

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral for consolidation below 1.3012. Deeper retreat cannot be ruled out, but downside should be contained above 1.2582 resistance turned support to bring rise resumption. On the upside, break of 1.3012 will resume the rise from 1.1958 to 161.8% projection of 1.1958 to 1.2582 from 1.2195 at 1.3205 next.

In the bigger picture, current development affirms the case of medium term bottoming at 1.1958, ahead of 1.1946 (2016 low). At this point, rise from 1.1958 is seen as the third leg of consolidation from 1.1946. Further rise would be seen back towards 1.4376 resistance. For now, this will remain the favored case as long as 1.2195 support holds.

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3154; (P) 1.3227; (R1) 1.3278; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral as range trading continues. On the downside, break of 1.3119 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for retesting 1.2999. Firm break there will resume larger down trend from 1.4248. On the upside, above 1.3297 will resume the rebound to 55 day EMA (now at 1.3347). Sustained break there will target medium term channel resistance (now at 1.3590).

In the bigger picture, current development suggests that the up trend from 1.1409 (2020 low) has completed at 1.4248. Decline from 1.4248 could still be a corrective move, or it could be the start of a long term down trend. In either case, deeper decline would be seen back to 61.8% retracement of 2.1161 to 1.1409 at 1.2493. In any case, break of 1.3748 resistance is needed to indicate medium term bottoming, or outlook will stay bearish.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2998; (P) 1.3041; (R1) 1.3085; More

Range trading continues in GBP/USD and intraday bias remains neutral. On the downside, sustained break of 38.2% retracement of 1.1958 to 1.3514 at 1.2920 will resume the corrective fall from 1.3514. Next target will be 61.8% retracement at 1.2552. On the upside, above 1.3118 will turn bias to the upside for 1.3284 resistance.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.1958 medium term bottom is expected to extend higher to retest 1.4376 key resistance. Reactions from there would decide whether it’s in consolidation from 1.1946 (2016 low). Or, firm break of 1.4376 will indicate long term bullish reversal. In any case, for now, outlook will stay bullish as long as 1.2582 resistance turned support holds.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3131; (P) 1.3174; (R1) 1.3211; More

GBP/USD weakens mildly today but stays well above 1.3042 resistance turned support. Intraday bias remains neutral at this point. But outlook is unchanged that corrective rise from 1.2661 could have completed at 1.3297, ahead of 1.3316 key fibonacci level. Hence, risk will stay on the downside as long as 1.3297 resistance holds. On the downside, break of 1.3042 resistance turned support will bring deeper fall to 1.2784. Break there will argue that larger down trend from 1.4376 is resuming for a new low below 1.2661.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA (now at 1.4062). The structure and momentum of the fall from 1.4376 argues that it’s resuming long term down trend. And this will be the preferred case as long as 38.2% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2661 at 1.3316 holds. However, firm break of 1.3316 would bring stronger rebound to 61.8% retracement at 1.3721. And, the eventual depth of the fall from 1.4376, and the chance of hitting 1.1946 low, will depend on the strength of the interim corrective rebound from 1.2661.

Range trading continues in GBP/USD and intraday bias remains neutral. Outlook remains bearish with 1.3297 resistance intact, and further decline is expected. On the downside, break of 1.2999 low will resume larger down trend from 1.4248. However, firm break of 1.3297 will turn bias back to the upside for stronger rebound.

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral at this point. Outlook stays bearish with 1.2747 intact and fall from 1.3381 would still extend lower. On the downside, break of 1.2559 will target 1.2391 low first. Firm break there will resume larger down trend to 61.8% projection of 1.4376 to 1.2391 from 1.3381 at 1.2154 next. Though, break of 1.2747 resistance will confirm short term bottoming and bring stronger rebound.

In the bigger picture, medium term decline from 1.4376 (2018 high) is possibly ready to resume. Decisive break of 1.2391 would target a test on 1.1946 long term bottom (2016 low). For now, we don’t expect a firm break there yet. Hence focus will be on bottoming signal as it approaches 1.1946. In any case, medium term outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.3381 resistance holds, in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2320; (P) 1.2368; (R1) 1.2400; More

No change in GBP/USD’s outlook as it’s still struggling in tight range. On the downside, firm break of 1.2252 minor support will turn bias to the downside, and extend the corrective pattern from 1.2445 with another falling leg. On the upside, decisive break of 1.2445 will confirm resumption of whole rise from 1.0351. Next target will be 1.2759 fibonacci level.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.0351 medium term bottom is at least correcting whole down trend from 1.4248 (2021 high). Further rise is expected as long as 1.1644 resistance turned support holds. Next target is 61.8% retracement of 1.4248 to 1.0351 at 1.2759. Sustained break there will pave the way back to 1.4248.

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains mildly on the upside at this point. Rebound from 1.3410 short term bottom would target 1.3749 resistance first, which is close to 55 day EMA (now at 1.3745). On the downside, though, below 1.3530 minor support will retain near term bearishness, and turn bias back to the downside for 1.3410 low. Firm break there will extend the fall from 1.4248 and target 1.3164 medium term fibonacci level next.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4248 is at least a correction to the up trend from 1.1409 (2020 low). Such correction could extend to 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.3164 before completion. However, considering the rejection by 1.4376 key resistance (2018 high), sustained trading below 1.3164 will argue that it’s indeed a bearish trend reversal and would target 61.8% retracement at 1.2493. Nevertheless, break of 1.3912 resistance will revive medium term bullishness and target 1.4248/4376 resistance zone again.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low). Rise from 1.2036 is seen as the second leg, which might still be in progress. But upside should be limited by 1.3141 to bring the third leg of the pattern. Meanwhile, break of 1.2517 support will argue that the third leg has already started for 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 (2022 low) to 1.3141 at 1.2075 again.

Despite spiking higher to 1.2691, GBP/USD quickly retreated. Intraday bias stays neutral for the moment. On the upside, firm break of 1.2691 resistance will affirm the case that correction from 1.2826 has completed at 1.2517, after drawing support from 1.2499. Intraday bias will be back on the upside for retesting 1.2826. Nevertheless, decisive break of 1.2499 will argue that whole rise from 1.2036 has completed and turn near term outlook bearish.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low). Rise from 1.2036 is seen as the second leg, would could be still in progress. But upside should be limited by 1.3141 to bring the third leg of the pattern. Meanwhile, break of 1.2499 support will argue that the third leg has already started for 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 (2022 low) to 1.3141 at 1.2075 again.

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the upside at this point. Consolidation form 1.4240 could have completed with three waves to 1.3570 already. Further rise should be seen to retest 1.4248 high next. On the downside, below 1.3841 minor support will turn intraday bias neutral and bring retreat first, before staging another rally.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.3482 resistance turned support holds, up trend from 1.1409 should still continue. Decisive break of 1.4376 resistance will carry larger bullish implications. However, firm break of 1.3482 support will argue that the rise from 1.1409 has completed. GBP/USD would then be seen in another leg of long term range pattern between 1.1409 and 1.4376. Deeper fall could then be seen to 61.8% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.2493, and even below.

Nevertheless, break of 1.3369 minor resistance will turn bias back to the upside for 1.3512 resistance first.

In the bigger picture, immediate focus is now on 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.3164. With 1.2346 minor resistance intact, further decline is expected in GBP/USD. Corrective rebound from 1.1958 should have completed at 1.2582. Further fall should be seen to retest 1.1946/58 key support zone next. However, break of 1.2346 will turn bias back to the upside for retesting 1.2582.

In the bigger picture, we’d remain cautious on medium term bottoming around 1.1946 (2016 low). Sustained trading above 55 week EMA (now at 1.2724) will extend the consolidation pattern from 1.1946 with another rise to 1.4376 resistance. However, on the upside, firm break of 1.2799 will indicate that the correction from 1.3141 has completed with three waves down to 1.2546. Intraday bias will be turned back to the upside for retesting 1.3141.

In the bigger picture, for now, fall from 1.3141 medium term top is seen as a correction to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low). Deeper decline would be seen to 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.3141 at 1.2075. Strong support would be seen there to bring rebound on first attempt. But outlook will be neutral at best as long as 1.3141 resistance holds, and consolidation from there is set to extend, until further development.

Intraday bias in GBP/USD is turned neutral again with current retreat. For now, further rise is in favor as long as 1.2611 support holds. Above 1.2826 will resume larger rise from 1.2036 to 61.8% projection of 1.2068 to 1.2731 from 1.2499 at 1.2909. Nevertheless, break of 1.2611 will indicate short term topping, and turn bias back to the downside for 1.2499 support.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern to rise from 1.0351 (2022 low). Rise from 1.2036 is seen as the second leg that’s in progress.
