GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2864; (P) 1.2945; (R1) 1.3008; More

Focus is now on 1.2910 support as GBP/USD’s decline from 1.3175 extends. Firm break of 1.2910 will suggest completion of the rebound from 1.2675. Intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.3482 at 1.2690. On the upside, above 1.3175 will extend the rebound from 1.2675 and bring retest of 1.3482 high.

In the bigger picture, focus stays on 1.3514 key resistance. Decisive break there should also come with sustained trading above 55 month EMA (now at 1.3307). That should confirm medium term bottoming at 1.1409. Outlook will be turned bullish for 1.4376 resistance and above. Nevertheless, rejection by 1.3514 will maintain medium term bearishness for another lower below 1.1409 at a later stage.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2726; (P) 1.2756; (R1) 1.2806; More….

Intraday bias in GBP/USD is turned neutral as it retreats notably after failing to take out 1.2814 resistance. Near term outlook stays bearish for now. On the downside, below 1.2615 minor support will turn bias to the downside for retesting 1.2391 first. Break will extend the down trend from 1.4376 and target 61.8% projection of 1.4376 to 1.2661 from 1.3174 at 1.2114 next. However, firm break of 1.2814 resistance will be an early sign of trend reversal and bring stronger rebound back to 1.3174 resistance next.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA. The structure and momentum of the fall from 1.4376 argues that it’s resuming long term down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high). And this will now remain the preferred case as long as 1.3174 structural resistance holds. GBP/USD should target a test on 1.1946 first. Decisive break there will confirm our bearish view.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1759; (P) 1.1828; (R1) 1.1828; More

Further fall is expected in GBP/USD with 1.1966 minor resistance holds. Current down trend is in progress for 100% projection of 1.2666 to 1.1932 from 1.2405 at 1.1671. Decisive break there will target a test on 1.1409 long term support. On the upside, above 1.1966 minor resistance will turn intraday bias to the upside for stronger rebound.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4248 (2018 high) could be a leg inside the pattern from 1.1409 (2020 low), or resuming the longer term down trend. Deeper decline is expected as long as 1.2666 resistance holds. Next target is 1.1409 low. However, firm break of 1.2666 will bring stronger rise back to 55 week EMA (now at 1.3065).

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2505; (P) 1.2532; (R1) 1.2565; More…

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral as consolidation continues below 1.2557. While deeper retreat might be seen, further rally is expected as long as 1.2372 support holds. Above 1.2557 will resume the rise from 1.2036, and target 61.8% retracement of 1.3141 to 1.2036 at 1.2716 next.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 are seen as a corrective pattern to rise from 1.0351 (2022 low). Strong rebound from 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 (2022 low) to 1.3141 at 1.2075 argues that current rise from 1.2036 is the second leg. However, while further rally could be seen, upside should be limited by 1.3141 to bring the third leg of the pattern.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3570; (P) 1.3630; (R1) 1.3687; More….

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the downside at this point. Current fall from 1.4248 is in progress for 1.3482 resistance turned support next. Decisive break there will indicate that it’s already correcting whole up trend from 1.1409. Next target will then be 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.3164. On the upside, above 1.3688 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral first. But further fall will remain in favor as long as 1.3908 resistance holds.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.3482 resistance turned support holds, up trend from 1.1409 should still continue. Decisive break of 1.4376 resistance will carry larger bullish implications. However, firm break of 1.3482 support will argue that the rise from 1.1409 has completed. GBP/USD would then be seen in another leg of long term range pattern between 1.1409 and 1.4376. Deeper fall could then be seen to 61.8% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.2493, and even below.

Intraday bias will be back on the downside for resting this low. On the upside, above 1.2666 will target 55 day EMA (now at 1.2722) and above.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4248 (2018 high) could be a leg inside the pattern from 1.1409 (2020 low), or resuming the longer term down trend. Deeper decline is expected as long as 1.2999 support turned resistance holds. On resumption, next target is 1.1409 low.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4248 (2018 high) could be a leg inside the pattern from 1.1409 (2020 low), or resuming the longer term down trend. Deeper decline is expected as long as 1.2666 resistance holds. On resumption, next target is 1.1409 low.

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1065; (P) 1.1243; (R1) 1.1335; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the downside for the moment. Corrective rebound should have completed with three waves up to 1.1644. Deeper fall would be seen to 1.0922 support first. Break there will target a retest on 1.0351 low. For now, risk will stay on the downside as long as 1.1644 resistance holds, in case of recovery.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4248 (2018 high) is part of the long term down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high). Outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.1759 support turned resistance holds. Parity would be the next target on resumption. Nevertheless, firm break of 1.1759 will confirm medium term bottoming, and open up stronger rise back to 55 week EMA (now at 1.2392).

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2926; (P) 1.2979; (R1) 1.3026; More

GBP/USD is still staying in range of 1.2811/3125 and intraday bias remains neutral. Another rise is mildly in favor with 1.2811 intact. Break of 1.3125 will target 61.8% projection of 1.2108 to 1.3047 from 1.2588 at 1.3168. Overall, choppy rebound from 1.1946 is seen as a corrective pattern, hence, we’d be cautious on strong resistance from 1.3168 to limit upside. But firm break of 1.3168 will bring further rise towards 1.3444 key resistance. Meanwhile, break of 1.2811 support will be the first sign of reversal and will turn bias to the downside to target 1.2588 key support next.

In the bigger picture, overall, price actions from 1.1946 medium term low are seen as a corrective pattern that is still in progress. While further upside is expected, overall outlook remains bearish as long as 1.3444 key resistance holds. Larger down trend from 1.7190 is expected to resume later after the correction completes. And break of 1.2588 will indicate that such down trend is resuming.

Outlook in GBP/USD is unchanged and intraday bias stays neutral first. On the downside, firm break of 1.3410 low will confirm resumption of larger decline from 1.4248 and target 1.3164 fibonacci level next. However, on the upside, above 1.3604 minor resistance will turn bias back to the upside of 1.3833 resistance. Decisive break there will be a sign of near term bullish reversal.

In the bigger picture, the structure of the fall from 1.4248 suggests that it’s a correction to the up trend from 1.1409 (2020 low) only. While deeper fall cannot be ruled out yet, downside should be contained by 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.3164, at least on first attempt, to bring rebound. On the upside, firm break of 1.4376 key resistance (2018 high) will add to the case of long term bullish reversal. However, sustained trading below 1.3164 will revive some medium term bearishness and target 61.8% retracement at 1.2493.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2814; (P) 1.2851; (R1) 1.2890; More

GBP/USD’s strong rebound and break of 1.2932 suggests that fall from 1.3042 has completed at 1.2784. And the corrective rise from 1.2661 is still in progress. Intraday bias is back on the upside for 1.3042 resistance. Break will resume the rebound from 1.2661 and target 1.3212 resistance. We’d expect strong resistance from 1.3316 fibonacci level to limit upside to complete the rebound. On the downside, break of 1.2784 will bring deeper fall to retest 1.2661.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA (now at 1.4099). The structure and momentum of the fall from 1.4376 argues that it’s resuming long term down trend. And this will be the preferred case as long as 38.2% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2661 at 1.3316 holds. However, firm break of 1.3316 would bring stronger rebound to 61.8% retracement at 1.3721. And, the eventual depth of the fall from 1.4376, and the chance of hitting 1.1946 low, will depend on the strength of the interim corrective rebound from 1.2661.

GBP/USD is staying in consolidation from 1.2014 and intraday bias remains neutral first. Further decline is expected with 1.2209 resistance intact. On the downside break of 1.2014 will target 1.1946 low first. Firm break there will target 100% projection of 1.4376 to 1.2391 from 1.3381 at 1.1396. On the upside, break of 1.2209 resistance will suggest short term bottoming. In this case, lengthier consolidation should be seen first before another decline.

In the bigger picture, down trend from 1.4376 (2018 high) is extending towards 1.1946 low. We’d be cautious on bottoming there. But decisive break will resume down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) to 61.8% projection of 1.7190 to 1.1946 from 1.4376 at 1.1135. In any case, medium term outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.3381 resistance holds, in case of strong rebound.

No change in GBP/USD’s outlook and intraday bias remains on the downside. Corrective rebound from 1.1958 should have completed at 1.2582. Fall from 1.2582 should extend lower to retest 1.1946/58 key support zone. On the upside, though, above 1.2413 will bring another rebound to 1.2582 resistance instead.

In the bigger picture, we’d remain cautious on medium term bottoming around 1.1946 (2016 low). Sustained trading above 55 week EMA (now at 1.2727) will extend the consolidation pattern from 1.1946 with another rise to 1.4376 resistance. Nevertheless, decisive break of 1.1946 will resume down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) to 61.8% projection of 1.7190 to 1.1946 from 1.4376 at 1.1135.

On the downside, below 1.2825 will resume the fall from 1.3174 to 1.2661/92 key support zone. Decisive break there will resume larger down trend from 1.4376. On the upside, above 1.3174 will extend the rebound from 1.2692. But after all, price actions from 1.2661 are seen as a consolidation pattern and larger down trend is expected to resume sooner or later.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.3482 resistance turned support holds, we’d still treat price actions from 1.4248 as a corrective move. That is, up trend from 1.1409 (2020 low) is in favor to resume. Decisive break of 1.4376 key resistance (2018 high) would indeed carry long term bullish implications. However, sustained break of 1.3482 will at least bring deeper fall to 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.3164, or even further to 61.8% retracement at 1.2493.

GBP/USD’s breach of 1.2668 minor support suggests that corrective recovery from 1.2559 has completed at 1.2763 already. Intraday bias is turned back to the downside for retesting 1.2559 low first. Break will extend the decline from 1.3381 for 1.2391 low first. On the upside, in case of another rise, upside should be limited by by 1.2865 support turned resistance to bring fall resumption eventually.

In the bigger picture, medium term decline from 1.4376 (2018 high) is possibly ready to resume. Decisive break of 1.2391 would target a test on 1.1946 long term bottom (2016 low). For now, we don’t expect a firm break there yet. Hence focus will be on bottoming signal as it approaches 1.1946. In any case, medium term outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.3381 resistance holds, in case of strong rebound.
