GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2337; (P) 1.2368; (R1) 1.2422; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD stays neutral at this point. On the upside, decisive break of 1.2445 will confirm resumption of whole rise from 1.0351. Next target will be 1.2759 fibonacci level. On the downside, break of 1.2252 minor support will turn bias to the downside, and extend the corrective pattern from 1.2445 with another falling leg.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.0351 medium term bottom is at least correcting whole down trend from 1.4248 (2021 high). Further rise is expected as long as 1.1644 resistance turned support holds. Next target is 61.8% retracement of 1.4248 to 1.0351 at 1.2759. Sustained break there will pave the way back to 1.4248.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2235; (P) 1.2263; (R1) 1.2314; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD stays on the upside at this point. Rebound from 1.2036 short term bottom is in progress for near term channel resistance (now at 1.2338). Firm break there will target 38.2% retracement of 1.3141 to 1.2036 at 1.2458 next. Nevertheless, break of 1.2161 minor support will revive near term bearishness and bring retest of 1.2036 low.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.3141 medium term top could still be a correction to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low) only. But risk of complete trend reversal is rising. Sustained break of 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.3141 at 1.2075 will pave the way to 61.8% retracement at 1.1417. For now, risk will stay on the downside as long as 55 D EMA (now at 1.2440) holds, in case of rebound.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2659; (P) 1.2732; (R1) 1.2784; More

GBP/USD’s decline from 1.3141 extends to as low as 1.2618 so far today, and met 38.2% retracement of 1.1801 to 1.3141 at 1.2629 already. There is no sign of bottoming yet and intraday bias remains on the downside. Sustained trading below 1.2678 support turned resistance will argue that it’s already in a larger correction and target 1.2306 support next. Nevertheless, strong rebound from current level, followed by break of 1.2796 resistance, will retain near term bullishness and turn bias back to the upside.

In the bigger picture, the firm break of 55 D EMA (now at 1.2723) is raising the chance of medium term topping at 1.3141. This is also supported by bearish divergence condition in D MACD. Sustained trading below 1.2678 will indicate that fall from 1.3141 is at least correcting whole up trend from 1.0351, with risk of bearish reversal. Deeper fall would be seen back to 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.3141 at 1.2075.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3414; (P) 1.3556; (R1) 1.3641; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the downside for retesting 1.3410 low first. Firm break there will resume larger fall from 1.4280 to 1.3164 medium term fibonacci level. On the upside, above 1.3604 minor resistance will mix up the near term outlook and turn intraday bias neutral first.

In the bigger picture, the structure of the fall from 1.4248 suggests that it’s a correction to the up trend from 1.1409 (2020 low) only. While deeper fall cannot be ruled out yet, downside should be contained by 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.3164, at least on first attempt, to bring rebound. On the upside, firm break of 1.4376 key resistance (2018 high) will add to the case of long term bullish reversal. However, sustained trading below 1.3164 will revive some medium term bearishness and target 61.8% retracement at 1.2493.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2855; (P) 1.2886; (R1) 1.2913; More….

GBP/USD’s consolidation from 1.3012 is extending and intraday bias remains neutral. Deeper retreat cannot be ruled out. But downside should be contained above 1.2582 resistance turned support to bring rise resumption. On the upside, break of 1.3012 will resume the rise from 1.1958 to 161.8% projection of 1.1958 to 1.2582 from 1.2195 at 1.3205 next.

In the bigger picture, current development affirms the case of medium term bottoming at 1.1958, ahead of 1.1946 (2016 low). At this point, rise from 1.1958 is seen as the third leg of consolidation from 1.1946. Further rise would be seen back towards 1.4376 resistance. For now, this will remain the favored case as long as 1.2582 resistance turned support holds.

On the downside, break of 1.2252 minor support will turn bias to the downside, and extend the corrective pattern from 1.2445 with another falling leg.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2418; (P) 1.2452; (R1) 1.2469; More…

GBP/USD recovered after brief dip to 1.2388 and intraday bias is turned neutral again. Stronger recovery cannot be ruled out, but upside should be limited by 1.2538 support turned resistance. Below 1.2388 will resume the fall from 1.2892 to 100% projection of 1.2892 to 1.2538 from 1.2708 at 1.2354. Firm break there will target 161.8% projection at 1.2207 next.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low). Fall from 1.2892 is seen as the third leg. Deeper decline would be seen to 1.2036 support and possibly below. But strong support should emerge from 61.8% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.2452 at 1.1417 to complete the correction.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3176; (P) 1.3240; (R1) 1.3287; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral at this point. Correction from 1.3101 could extend with another rise. But we’d expect strong resistance from 1.3471 to limit upside. On the downside, break of 1.3101 will resume fall from 1.4376 and target 61.8% retracement of 1.1946 to 1.4376 at 1.2875 next.

In the bigger picture, current development suggests that whole medium term rebound from 1.1936 (2016 low) has completed at 1.4376 already, with trend line broken firmly, on bearish divergence condition in daily MACD, after rejection from 55 month EMA (now at 1.4177). 61.8% retracement of 1.1936 (2016 low) to 1.4376 at 1.2874 is the next target. We’ll pay attention to the reaction from there to asses the chance of long term down trend resumption. For now, outlook will stay bearish as long as 55 day EMA (now at 1.3490) holds, even in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1993; (P) 1.2035; (R1) 1.2064; More

Outlook in GBP/USD remains unchanged and intraday bias stays on the downside. Fall from 1.2446 is seen as the third leg of the corrective pattern from 1.2445. Deeper decline would be seen to 1.1840 support and possibly below. But downside should be contained by 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.2445 at 1.1645 to bring rebound. On the upside, above 1.2181 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral first. But risk will stay mildly on the downside as long as 1.2445/6 holds, in case of recovery.

GBP/USD is still extending the consolidation pattern from 1.2826 and intraday bias stays neutral. Break of 1.2595 support will target 1.2499 support. On the upside, however, firm break of 1.2784 resistance will suggest that the consolidation pattern has completed. Further rally should then resume through 1.2826 towards 1.3141 high.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low). Rise from 1.2036 is seen as the second leg that’s in progress. Upside should be limited by 1.3141 to bring the third leg of the pattern. Meanwhile, break of 1.2499 support will argue that the third leg has already started for 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 (2022 low) to 1.3141 at 1.2075 again.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2111; (P) 1.2141; (R1) 1.2191; More

GBP/USD is staying in consolidation above 1.2079 temporary low and intraday bias remains neutral first. In case of stronger recovery, upside should be limited by 1.2382 support turned resistance to bring fall resumption. On the downside, break of 1.2079 will target 1.1946 low. Break will target 100% projection of 1.4376 to 1.2391 from 1.3381 at 1.1396.

In the bigger picture, down trend from 1.4376 (2018 high) is extending towards 1.1946 low. We’d be cautious on bottoming there. But decisive break will resume down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) to 61.8% projection of 1.7190 to 1.1946 from 1.4376 at 1.1135. In any case, medium term outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.3381 resistance holds, in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD’s fall from 1.3350 extends to as low as 1.3097 so far today. The breach of 1.3109 support now raises chance of near term reversal. Intraday bias is mildly on the downside for trend line support (now at 1.2944). Break will target 1.2774 support to confirm completion of rebound from 1.2391. Nevertheless, rebound from current level, followed by break of 1.3350, will resume rise from 1.2391 to 61.8% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2391 at 1.3618 next.

In the bigger picture, medium term decline from 1.4376 (2018 high) should have completed at 1.2391. Rise from 1.2391 is now seen as the third leg of the corrective pattern from 1.1946 (2016 low). Further rise could be seen through 1.4376 in medium term. On the downside, though, break of 1.2773 support will turn focus back to 1.2391 low and then 1.1946.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4248 (2018 high) could be a leg inside the pattern from 1.1409 (2020 low), or resuming the longer term down trend. Deeper decline is expected as long as 1.2292 resistance holds. Next target is 1.1409 low. However, firm break of 1.2292 will bring stronger rise back to 55 week EMA (now at 1.2859).

GBP/USD’s rebound from 1.1960 resumed by breaking 1.2192 minor resistance and intraday bias is back on the upside. The development revived the case that corrective pattern from 1.2445 has already completed at 1.1960. Further rise should be seen to retest 1.2445/6 next. On the downside, however, below 1.2123 will mix up the outlook again and turn intraday bias neutral.

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral and outlook is unchanged. On the upside, break of 1.3642 will resume the rebound from 1.3356 to 1.3748 resistance. Firm break there will revive the bullish case that correction from 1.4248 has completed with three waves down to 1.3158. Further rally should then be seen to retest 1.4248 high. On the downside, though, break of 1.3485 will turn bias to the downside for 1.3356 support instead.

In the bigger picture, as long as 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.3164 holds, up trend from 1.1409 (2020 low) is still in progress. GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2397; (P) 1.2436; (R1) 1.2478; More

No change in GBP/USD’s outlook as range trading continues. Intraday bias stays neutral at this point. Another rise is in favor with 1.2343 support intact. On the upside, above 1.2545 will target 1.2759 fibonacci level first. Firm break there will target 61.8% projection of 1.0351 to 1.2445 from 1.1801 at 1.3095. However, considering bearish divergence condition in 4H MACD, firm break of 1.2343 will confirm short term topping, and turn bias back to the downside for deeper pullback.

In the bigger picture, the rise from 1.0351 medium term term bottom (2022 low) is in progress for 61.8% retracement of 1.4248 (2021 high) to 1.0351 at 1.2759. Further break of 61.8% projection of 1.0351 to 1.2445 from 1.1801 at 1.3095 could prompt upside acceleration to 100% projection at 1.3895.
