GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2697; (P) 1.2714; (R1) 1.2742; More…

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral as consolidation from 1.2793 is extending. As long as 1.2499 support holds, near term outlook will stay bullish and further rally is expected. On the upside, firm break of 1.2793 will resume the rally from 1.2036. Next target is 61.8% projection of 1.2068 to 1.2731 from 1.2499 at 1.2909.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern to rise from 1.0351 (2022 low). Rise from 1.2036 is seen as the second leg that’s in progress. Upside should be limited by 1.3141 to bring the third leg of the pattern. Meanwhile, break of 1.2499 support will argue that the third leg has already started for 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 (2022 low) to 1.3141 at 1.2075 again.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.4117; (P) 1.4175; (R1) 1.4210; More

Consolidation continues in GBP/USD and intraday bias remains neutral first. On the upside, decisive break of 1.4240 will resume larger up trend for 1.4376 key resistance next. On the downside, however, break of 1.4098 support will delay the bullish case. Intraday bias will be turned back to the downside to extend the consolidation pattern from 1.4240 with another falling leg.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.3482 resistance turned support holds, up trend from 1.1409 should still continue. Decisive break of 1.4376 resistance will carry larger bullish implications and target 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1409 (2020 low) at 1.5134. However, firm break of 1.3482 support will argue that the rise from 1.1409 has completed and bring deeper fall to 1.2675 support and below.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1933; (P) 1.1989; (R1) 1.2053; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral for the moment. Focus remains on 1.2055 minor resistance. Firm break there will confirm short term bottoming at 1.1759. Bias will be turned back to the upside for 1.2405 resistance next. On the downside, below 1.1759 will resume larger down trend to 100% projection of 1.2666 to 1.1932 from 1.2405 at 1.1671.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4248 (2018 high) could be a leg inside the pattern from 1.1409 (2020 low), or resuming the longer term down trend. Deeper decline is expected as long as 1.2666 resistance holds. Next target is 1.1409 low. However, firm break of 1.2666 will bring stronger rise back to 55 week EMA (now at 1.3065).

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2586; (P) 1.2621; (R1) 1.2678; More

GBP/USD’s rebound from 1.2546 extends higher today but it’s still capped below 1.2799 resistance. Intraday bias stays neutral first. On the downside, break of 1.2546 will resume whole fall from 1.3141 to 61.8% projection of 1.3141 to 1.2618 from 1.2799 at 1.2476. However, on the upside, firm break of 1.2799 will indicate that the correction from 1.3141 has completed with three waves down to 1.2546. Intraday bias will be turned back to the upside for retesting 1.3141.

In the bigger picture, for now, fall from 1.3141 medium term top is seen as a correction to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low). Deeper decline would be seen to 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.3141 at 1.2075. Strong support would be seen there to bring rebound on first attempt. But outlook will be neutral at best as long as 1.3141 resistance holds, and consolidation from there is set to extend, until further development.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2361; (P) 1.2454; (R1) 1.2508; More

GBP/USD is still staying above 1.2343 support and intraday bias remains neutral. Another rise is in favor and above 1.2545 will target 1.2759 fibonacci level first. Firm break there will target 61.8% projection of 1.0351 to 1.2445 from 1.1801 at 1.3095. However, considering bearish divergence condition in 4H MACD, firm break of 1.2343 will confirm short term topping, and turn bias back to the downside for deeper pullback.

In the bigger picture, the rise from 1.0351 medium term term bottom (2022 low) is in progress for 61.8% retracement of 1.4248 (2021 high) to 1.0351 at 1.2759. Sustained break there will add to the case of long term bullish trend reversal. Further break of 61.8% projection of 1.0351 to 1.2445 from 1.1801 at 1.3095 could prompt upside acceleration to 100% projection at 1.3895. For now, this will remain the favored case as long as 1.1801 support holds, even in case of deep pull back.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3899; (P) 1.3965; (R1) 1.4004; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral as consolidation from 1.3917 temporary low is still unfolding. Another recovery cannot be ruled out. But upside should be limited by 1.4089 minor resistance to bring fall resumption. Below 1.3917 will target 1.3711 key support next. However, firm break of 1.4089 will turn focus back to 1.4376 high instead.

In the bigger picture, bearish divergence condition in daily MACD is raising the chance of medium term reversal. Also, note that GBP/USD has just failed to sustain above 55 month EMA (now at 1.4257). Focus is back on 1.3711 support. Firm break there will confirm medium term reversal and target 38.2% retracement of 1.1936 (2016 low) to 1.4376 at 1.3448 first. Break will target 61.8% retracement at 1.2874 and below. For now, sustained break of 55 month EMA is needed to confirm medium term upside momentum. Otherwise, we won’t turn bullish even in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.4141; (P) 1.4180; (R1) 1.4228; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the upside with focus on 1.4240 resistance. Firm break there will resume whole up trend from 1.1409 to 1.4376 key resistance next. On the downside, break of 1.4004 support is needed to signal short term topping. Otherwise, outlook will remain bullish in case of retreat.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3544; (P) 1.3572; (R1) 1.3613; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD stays neutral with focus on 1.3642. Break there will resume the rebound from 1.3356 to 1.3748 resistance. Firm break there will revive the bullish case that correction from 1.4248 has completed with three waves down to 1.3158. Further rally should then be seen to retest 1.4248 high. On the downside, though, break of 1.3485 will turn bias to the downside for 1.3356 support instead.

In the bigger picture, as long as 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.3164 holds, up trend from 1.1409 (2020 low) is still in progress. On resumption, next target will be 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 to 1.1409 at 1.5134. Nevertheless sustained break of 1.3164 will argue that whole rise from 1.1409 has completed and bring deeper fall to 61.8% retracement at 1.2493.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3076; (P) 1.3125; (R1) 1.3177; More

With 4 hour MACD crossed below signal line, intraday bias in GBP/USD is turned neutral first. On the upside, above 1.3174 will extend the rebound from 1.2692 to 1.3257/3297 resistance zone. As this rise is seen as the third leg of consolidation pattern from 1.2661, we’d expect strong resistance from 1.3316 fibonacci level to limit upside to bring down trend resumption eventually. On the downside, below 1.2951 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for 1.2692 and then 1.2661 key support.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA. The structure and momentum of the fall from 1.4376 argues that it’s resuming long term down trend. And this will be the preferred case as long as 38.2% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2661 at 1.3316 holds. However, firm break of 1.3316 would bring stronger rebound to 61.8% retracement at 1.3721. And, the eventual depth of the fall from 1.4376, and the chance of hitting 1.1946 low, will depend on the strength of the interim corrective rebound from 1.2661.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD edged higher to 1.3833 last week but turned sideway again. Initial bias is neutral this week for consolidations first. But further rally is expected as long as 1.3646 support holds. Above 1.3833 will target 1.3912 key structural resistance. Firm break there will indicate that the correction from 1.4248 is complete with three waves down to 1.3410. Further rally would then be seen to retest 1.4248 high. However, break of 1.3646 will turn bias to the downside for retesting 1.3410 low.

In the bigger picture, the structure of the fall from 1.4248 suggests that it’s a correction to the up trend from 1.1409 (2020 low) only. While deeper fall cannot be ruled out yet, downside should be contained by 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.3164, at least on first attempt, to bring rebound. On the upside, firm break of 1.4376 key resistance (2018 high) will add to the case of long term bullish reversal. However, sustained trading below 1.3164 will revive some medium term bearishness and target 61.8% retracement at 1.2493.

In the longer term picture, a long term bottom should be in place at 1.1409, on bullish convergence condition in monthly MACD. Rise from there would target 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 to 1.1409 at 1.5134. Reaction from there would reveal whether rise from 1.1409 is just a correction, or developing into a long term up trend.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3631; (P) 1.3671; (R1) 1.3724; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral at this point. On the upside, decisive break of 1.3702 will resume whole rise from 1.1409. Intraday bias will be turned back to the upside for 61.8% projection of 1.1409 to 1.3482 from 1.2675 at 1.3956. For now, outlook will stay bullish as long as 1.3428 support holds, even in case of another retreat.

In the bigger picture, the break of 1.3514 structural resistance and sustained trading above 55 month EMA (now at 1.3328) should confirm medium term bottoming at 1.1409. Rise from there should now extend to 1.4376 resistance and above. This will remain the favored case as long as 1.2675 support holds.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2979; (P) 1.3022; (R1) 1.3069; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the downside for 1.2905 support. Break there will resume whole correction from 1.3514. Next downside target will be 61.8% projection of 1.3514 to 1.2905 from 1.3174 at 1.2798. On the upside, break of 1.3174 resistance will turn bias to the upside for 1.3284 resistance instead.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.1958 medium term bottom is expected to extend higher to retest 1.4376 key resistance. Reactions from there would decide whether it’s in consolidation from 1.1946 (2016 low). Or, firm break of 1.4376 will indicate long term bullish reversal. In any case, for now, outlook will stay bullish as long as 1.2582 resistance turned support holds.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2476; (P) 1.2532; (R1) 1.2583; More….

Outlook in GBP/USD remains unchanged and intraday bias stays on the downside. Current decline from 1.3381 is in progress for 1.2391 low. Firm break there will resume larger down trend. On the upside, above 1.2587 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral first. But near term outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.2783 resistance holds.

In the bigger picture, down trend from 1.4376 (2018 high) is still in progress. Break of 1.2391 would target a test on 1.1946 long term bottom (2016 low). For now, we don’t expect a firm break there yet. Hence, focus will be on bottoming signal as it approaches 1.1946. In any case, medium term outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.3381 resistance holds, in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1944; (P) 1.2015; (R1) 1.2130; More

GBP/USD’s rally resumed by breaking 1.2152 and intraday bias is back on the upside. Current rise from 1.0351 should target 100% projection of 1.0351 to 1.1494 from 1.1145 at 1.2288 first. Sustained break there will pave the way to 1.2759 medium term fibonacci level. On the downside, break of 1.1898 minor support is needed to indicate short term topping, otherwise, further rally will remain in favor in case of retreat.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.0351 medium term bottom is at least correcting whole down trend from 1.4248 (2021 high). Further rise is expected as long as 1.1145 support holds. Next target is 61.8% retracement of 1.4248 to 1.0351 at 1.2759. Sustained break there will pave the way back to 1.4248.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2995; (P) 1.3012; (R1) 1.3035; More

No change in GBP/USD’s outlook and intraday bias stays mildly on the downside for 1.2905 support.

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2018; (P) 1.2037; (R1) 1.2060; More

GBP/USD’s rebound from 1.1914 extends higher today but stays well below 1.2269 resistance. Intraday bias remains neutral and another fall could still be seen. Below 1.1914 will resume the fall from 1.2446, as the third leg of the corrective pattern from 1.2445, to 1.1840 support and possibly below. Nevertheless, firm break of 1.2269 will bring retest of 1.2445/6 resistance.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.0351 medium term bottom is at least correcting whole down trend from 1.4248 (2021 high). Further rise is expected as long as 1.1644 resistance turned support holds. Next target is 61.8% retracement of 1.4248 to 1.0351 at 1.2759. Sustained break there will pave the way back to 1.4248.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2948; (P) 1.2995; (R1) 1.3067; More

GBP/USD’s rebound from 1.2921 extends today but it’s limited below 1.3115 minor resistance Intraday bias stays neutral first. On the downside, break of 1.2921 will reaffirm the view that corrective rise from 1.2661 has completed. Intraday bias will be turned to the downside for 1.2784 support next. On the upside, however, break of 1.3115 will dampen our view and turn bias to the upside for 1.3297 to extend the corrective rise from 1.2661.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA (now at 1.4062).

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3736; (P) 1.3755; (R1) 1.3777; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains mildly on the upside at this point. Rebound form 1.3601 short term bottom would target 1.3982 resistance first. Decisive break there will pave the way back to retest 1.4248 high. On the downside, break of 1.3678 will turn bias back to the downside for 1.3570 low, and possibly further to 1.3482 key resistance turned support.

In the bigger picture, current development argues that rise from 1.1409 (2020 low) has completed at 1.4248, after failing 1.4376 resistance. Fall from there could either be correcting the rise from 1.1409, or starting another falling leg inside long term sideway pattern. In either case, sustained break of 1.3482 resistance turned support will target 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.3164 first. Break there will pave the way to 61.8% retracement at 1.2493.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2445; (P) 1.2498; (R1) 1.2546; More…

Intraday bias in GBP/USD is back on the upside with break of 1.2557 temporary top. Rise from 1.2036 is resuming for 61.8% retracement of 1.3141 to 1.2036 at 1.2716 next. On the downside, though, below 1.2447 minor support will turn intraday bias again first, and probably bring lengthier consolidations.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 are seen as a corrective pattern to rise from 1.0351 (2022 low). Strong rebound from 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 (2022 low) to 1.3141 at 1.2075 argues that current rise from 1.2036 is the second leg. However, while further rally could be seen, upside should be limited by 1.3141 to bring the third leg of the pattern.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2205; (P) 1.2242; (R1) 1.2286; More

GBP/USD is still staying in range of 1.1932/2666 and intraday bias remains neutral. Outlook stays bearish as long as 1.2666 resistance holds. On the downside, break of 1.1932 will resume larger down trend from 1.4248. However, firm break of 1.2666 will suggest medium term bottoming and bring stronger rebound back towards 1.3158 support turned resistance.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4248 (2018 high) could be a leg inside the pattern from 1.1409 (2020 low), or resuming the longer term down trend. Deeper decline is expected as long as 1.2666 resistance holds. Next target is 1.1409 low. However, firm break of 1.2666 will bring stronger rise back to 55 week EMA (now at 1.3175).
