GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.4117; (P) 1.4175; (R1) 1.4210; More

Consolidation continues in GBP/USD and intraday bias remains neutral first. On the upside, decisive break of 1.4240 will resume larger up trend for 1.4376 key resistance next. On the downside, however, break of 1.4098 support will delay the bullish case. Intraday bias will be turned back to the downside to extend the consolidation pattern from 1.4240 with another falling leg.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.3482 resistance turned support holds, up trend from 1.1409 should still continue. Decisive break of 1.4376 resistance will carry larger bullish implications and target 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1409 (2020 low) at 1.5134. However, firm break of 1.3482 support will argue that the rise from 1.1409 has completed and bring deeper fall to 1.2675 support and below.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1933; (P) 1.1989; (R1) 1.2053; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral for the moment. Focus remains on 1.2055 minor resistance. Firm break there will confirm short term bottoming at 1.1759. Bias will be turned back to the upside for 1.2405 resistance next. On the downside, below 1.1759 will resume larger down trend to 100% projection of 1.2666 to 1.1932 from 1.2405 at 1.1671.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4248 (2018 high) could be a leg inside the pattern from 1.1409 (2020 low), or resuming the longer term down trend. Deeper decline is expected as long as 1.2666 resistance holds. Next target is 1.1409 low. However, firm break of 1.2666 will bring stronger rise back to 55 week EMA (now at 1.3065).

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2361; (P) 1.2454; (R1) 1.2508; More

GBP/USD is still staying above 1.2343 support and intraday bias remains neutral. Another rise is in favor and above 1.2545 will target 1.2759 fibonacci level first. Firm break there will target 61.8% projection of 1.0351 to 1.2445 from 1.1801 at 1.3095. However, considering bearish divergence condition in 4H MACD, firm break of 1.2343 will confirm short term topping, and turn bias back to the downside for deeper pullback.

In the bigger picture, the rise from 1.0351 medium term term bottom (2022 low) is in progress for 61.8% retracement of 1.4248 (2021 high) to 1.0351 at 1.2759. Sustained break there will add to the case of long term bullish trend reversal. Further break of 61.8% projection of 1.0351 to 1.2445 from 1.1801 at 1.3095 could prompt upside acceleration to 100% projection at 1.3895. For now, this will remain the favored case as long as 1.1801 support holds, even in case of deep pull back.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1955; (P) 1.2002; (R1) 1.2089; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral for the moment. Risk stays on the downside as long as 1.2269 resistance holds. Break of 1.1914 will resume the fall from 1.2446, as the third leg of the corrective pattern from 1.2445, to 1.1840 support and possibly below.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.0351 medium term bottom is at least correcting whole down trend from 1.4248 (2021 high). Further rise is expected as long as 1.1644 resistance turned support holds. Next target is 61.8% retracement of 1.4248 to 1.0351 at 1.2759. Sustained break there will pave the way back to 1.4248.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2720; (P) 1.2858; (R1) 1.2934; More

GBP/USD recovers notably after dipping to 1.2761 earlier today. But for now, further decline is in favor as long as 1.2994 resistance holds. Fall from 1.3141 would target 55 D EMA (now at 1.2718) and possibly below. On the upside, break of 1.2994 resistance will argue that the pull back has completed, and bring retest of 1.3141 high.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.2678 resistance turned support holds, rise from 1.0351 (2022 low) is expected to continue. Next target is 100% projection of 1.0351 to 1.2445 from 1.1801 at 1.3895. However, sustained break of 1.2678 will argue that it’s at least correcting this rally, with risk of bearish reversal.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2616; (P) 1.2660; (R1) 1.2691; More…

GBP/USD rebounds strongly today but stays below 1.2793 resistance. Intraday bias remains neutral first. Further rally is expected as long as 1.2499 support holds. On the upside, firm break of 1.2793 will resume the rally from 1.2036. Next target is 61.8% projection of 1.2068 to 1.2731 from 1.2499 at 1.2909.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern to rise from 1.0351 (2022 low). Rise from 1.2036 is seen as the second leg that’s in progress. Upside should be limited by 1.3141 to bring the third leg of the pattern. Meanwhile, break of 1.2499 support will argue that the third leg has already started for 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 (2022 low) to 1.3141 at 1.2075 again.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3864; (P) 1.3898; (R1) 1.3921; More….

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral for more consolidation below 1.3982 temporary top. Outlook is unchanged that corrective pattern from 1.4240 could have completed with three waves down to 1.3570. Further rise is expected as long as 1.3766 support holds. On the upside, break of 1.3982 will resume the rise from 1.3570 to retest 1.4248 high. However, break of 1.3766 support will dampen this bullish view and bring retest of 1.3570.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.3482 resistance turned support holds, up trend from 1.1409 should still continue. Decisive break of 1.4376 resistance will carry larger bullish implications. However, firm break of 1.3482 support will argue that the rise from 1.1409 has completed. GBP/USD would then be seen in another leg of long term range pattern between 1.1409 and 1.4376. Deeper fall could then be seen to 61.8% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.2493, and even below.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3045; (P) 1.3119; (R1) 1.3157; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD is back on the downside with break of 1.3080 temporary low. Sustained break of 61.8% projection of 1.4248 to 1.3158 from 1.3748 at 1.3074 will extend the down trend from 1.4248 to 100% projection at 1.2658. In any case, outlook will remain bearish as long as 1.3270 support turned resistance holds, in case of another recovery.

In the bigger picture, current development suggests that the up trend from 1.1409 (2020 low) has completed at 1.4248. Decline from 1.4248 could still be a corrective move, or it could be the start of a long term down trend. In either case, deeper decline would now be seen back to 61.8% retracement of 2.1161 to 1.1409 at 1.2493. In case, break of 1.3748 resistance is needed to indicate medium term bottoming, or outlook will stay bearish.

GBP/USD is losing upside momentum as seen in 4 hour MACD. But there is no sign of topping yet. Current rise from 1.0351 is still in progress to 1.2759 medium term fibonacci level next. However, on the downside, break of 1.2205 will indicate short term topping, and turn bias back to the downside for deeper pull back to 55 day EMA (now at 1.1860).

This will remain the favored case as long as 55 day EMA (now at 1.1860) holds.

GBP/USD’s consolidation from 1.3012 is still in progress and intraday bias remains neutral first. Deeper pull back could be seen. But downside should be contained above 1.2582 resistance turned support to bring rise resumption. On the upside, break of 1.3012 will resume the rise from 1.1958 to 161.8% projection of 1.1958 to 1.2582 from 1.2195 at 1.3205 next.

In the bigger picture, current development affirms the case of medium term bottoming at 1.1958, ahead of 1.1946 (2016 low). At this point, rise from 1.1958 is seen as the third leg of consolidation from 1.1946. Further rise would be seen back towards 1.4376 resistance. For now, this will remain the favored case as long as 1.2582 resistance turned support holds.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Intraday bias in GBP/USD stays on the upside a rebound from 1.2954 should target 1.3284 resistance. Break will pave the way to retest 1.3514 high. On the downside, below 1.3034 minor support will turn bias to the downside for retesting 38.2% retracement of 1.1958 to 1.3514 at 1.2920.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.1958 medium term bottom is expected to extend higher to retest 1.4376 key resistance. Reactions from there would decide whether it’s in consolidation from 1.1946 (2016 low). Or, firm break of 1.4376 will indicate long term bullish reversal. In any case, for now, outlook will stay bullish as long as 1.2582 resistance turned support holds.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2399; (P) 1.2464; (R1) 1.2521; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral first and another rise is mildly in favor as long as 1.2164 support holds. Above 1.2647 will extend the rebound from 1.1409 to 61.8% projection of 1.1409 to 1.2485 from 1.2164 at 1.2829. However, break of 1.2164 support will indicate completion of the rebound and turn bias back to the downside for retesting 1.1409 low.

In the bigger picture, down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) is still in progress. Next medium term target will be 61.8% projection of 1.7190 to 1.1946 from 1.3514 at 1.0273. In any case, outlook will remain bearish as long as 1.3514 resistance holds, in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3020; (P) 1.3086; (R1) 1.3126; More

While the decline from 1.3174 extends lower today, GBP/USD is held above 1.2951 support. Intraday bias remains neutral and another rise cannot be ruled out. On the upside, above 1.3174 will target 1.3257/3297 resistance zone. However, as rise from 1.2692 is viewed as the third leg of consolidation pattern from 1.2661, we’d expect strong resistance from 1.3316 fibonacci level to limit upside to bring down trend resumption eventually. On the downside, below 1.2951 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for 1.2692 and then 1.2661 key support.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA. The structure and momentum of the fall from 1.4376 argues that it’s resuming long term down trend. And this will be the preferred case as long as 38.2% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2661 at 1.3316 holds. However, firm break of 1.3316 would bring stronger rebound to 61.8% retracement at 1.3721. And, the eventual depth of the fall from 1.4376, and the chance of hitting 1.1946 low, will depend on the strength of the interim corrective rebound from 1.2661.

Range trading continues in GBP/USD and intraday bias remains neutral at this point. On the upside, break of 1.1494 will resume the rise from 1.0351 to 61.8% projection of 1.0351 to 1.1494 from 1.0922 at 1.1628. On the downside, below 1.0922 will turn bias back to the downside for 1.0351 low instead.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4248 (2018 high) is resuming long term down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high). Next target is 100% projection of 2.1161 to 1.3503 from 1.7190 at 0.9532. There is no scope of a medium term rebound as long as 1.1759 support turned resistance holds.

Intraday bias in GBP/USD stays neutral and further rise is in favor with 1.2670 support intact. Above 1.2760 will resume the rally from 1.2298 to 1.2892 resistance next. On the downside, below 1.2670 will turn bias to the downside for deeper pull back.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern. Fall from 1.2892 is seen as the third leg which might have completed already. Break of 1.2892 resistance will argue that larger up trend from 1.0351(2022 low) is ready to resume through 1.3141. Meanwhile, break of 1.2445 support will extend the corrective pattern with another decline instead.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral for the moment. On the downside, break of 1.2457 minor support will suggest that rebound from 1.2154 has completed. Intraday bias will be back on the downside for resting this low. On the upside, above 1.2666 will target 55 day EMA (now at 1.2707) and above.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4248 (2018 high) could be a leg inside the pattern from 1.1409 (2020 low), or resuming the longer term down trend. Deeper decline is expected as long as 1.2999 support turned resistance holds. On resumption, next target is 1.1409 low.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3135; (P) 1.3212; (R1) 1.3328; More….

GBP/USD’s rally accelerates to as high as 1.3336 so far today and intraday bias remains on the upside. As noted before, whole decline from 1.4376 should have completed at 1.2391. Further rise should be seen to 61.8% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2391 at 1.3618 next. Sustained break will pave the way to 1.4376. On the downside, below 1.3233 will turn bias neutral and bring consolidations first, before staging another rally.

In the bigger picture, medium term decline from 1.4376 (2018 high) should have completed at 1.2391. Rise from 1.2391 is now seen as the third leg of the corrective pattern from 1.1946 (2016 low). Further rise could be seen through 1.4376 in medium term. On the downside, though, break of 1.2773 support will turn focus back to 1.2391 low and then 1.1946.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2488; (P) 1.2566; (R1) 1.2614; More…

No change in GBP/USD’s outlook and intraday bias remains on the downside. Strong support could be seen from 1.2499 structural support. Break of 1.2628 minor resistance will turn bias back to the upside for rebound. However, decisive break of 1.2499 will argue that whole rise from 1.2036 has completed and turn near term outlook bearish.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low). Rise from 1.2036 is seen as the second leg that’s still in progress. Upside should be limited by 1.3141 to bring the third leg of the pattern. Meanwhile, break of 1.2499 support will argue that the third leg has already started for 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 (2022 low) to 1.3141 at 1.2075 again.
