GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3038; (P) 1.3089; (R1) 1.3183; More

No change in GBP/USD’s outlook. Recovery from 1.2956 could extend higher. But upside should be limited below 1.3362 resistance to bring fall resumption eventually. On the downside, break of 1.2956 will resume the decline from 1.4376 to 1.2874 fibonacci level

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA (now at 1.4179). Fall from 1.4376 should extend to 61.8% retracement of 1.1946 (2016 low) to 1.4376 at 1.2874 next. Decisive break of 1.2874 will raise the chance of long term down trend resumption through 1.1946 low. On the upside, break of 1.3362 resistance is needed to be the first indication of medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish even in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2726; (P) 1.2823; (R1) 1.2920; More

No change in GBP/USD’s outlook as intraday bias remains on the downside. Sustained break of 50% retracement of 1.1958 to 1.3514 at 1.2736 will pave the way to 61.8% retracement at 1.2552. We’d look for strong support from there to bring rebound. But break of 1.3018 resistance is needed to indicate short term bottoming. Otherwise, risk will remain on the downside in case of recovery.

In the bigger picture, current decline from 1.3514 is seen as corrective the rally form 1.1958. Such rally is expected to resume latter to 1.4376 key resistance. Reactions from there would decide whether it’s in consolidation from 1.1946 (2016 low). Or, firm break of 1.4376 will indicate long term bullish reversal. However, sustained break of 1.2582 resistance turned support will dampen these views and bring retest of 1.1958 low instead.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1356; (P) 1.1449; (R1) 1.1607; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral as range trading continues. On the upside, break of 1.1644 will resume the whole rise from 1.0351 and target 1.1759/2292 resistance zone. On the downside, break of 1.1145 will reaffirm the case that corrective rise from 1.0351 has completed at 1.1644. Deeper fall would then be seen back to 1.0922 support and below.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4248 (2018 high) is part of the long term down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high). Outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.1759 support turned resistance holds. Parity would be the next target on resumption. Nevertheless, firm break of 1.1759 will confirm medium term bottoming, and open up stronger rise back to 55 week EMA (now at 1.2357).

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1979; (P) 1.2122; (R1) 1.2197; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD stays on the downside for the moment. Fall from 1.2446 is seen as the third leg of the corrective pattern from 1.2445. Deeper decline would be seen to 1.1840 support and possibly below. But downside downside should be contained by 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.2445 at 1.1645 to bring rebound. On the upside, above 1.2181 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral first. But risk will stay mildly on the downside as long as 1.2445/6 holds, in case of recovery.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.0351 medium term bottom is at least correcting whole down trend from 1.4248 (2021 high). Further rise is expected as long as 1.1644 resistance turned support holds. Next target is 61.8% retracement of 1.4248 to 1.0351 at 1.2759. Sustained break there will pave the way back to 1.4248.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3344; (P) 1.3411; (R1) 1.3471; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral as range trading continues. On the downside, break of 1.3223 will target 55 day EMA (now at 1.3177) first. Sustained break there will confirm another rejection by 1.3514 key resistance. Deeper fall should be seen back to 1.2675 support next. However, firm break of 1.3539 will resume larger rally from 1.1409.

In the bigger picture, focus stays on 1.3514 key resistance. Decisive break there should also come with sustained trading above 55 month EMA (now at 1.3308). That should confirm medium term bottoming at 1.1409. Outlook will be turned bullish for 1.4376 resistance and above. Nevertheless, rejection by 1.3514 will maintain medium term bearishness for another lower below 1.1409 at a later stage.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3069; (P) 1.3109; (R1) 1.3150; More….

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the upside at this point. As noted before, corrective fall from 1.3514 could have completed at 1.2905, after drawing support from 38.2% retracement of 1.1958 to 1.3514 at 1.2920. Further rise would be seen back to retest 1.3514 high. On the downside, sustained trading below 1.2920 will pave the way to 61.8% retracement at 1.2552.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.1958 medium term bottom expected to extend higher to retest 1.4376 key resistance. Reactions from there would decide whether it’s in consolidation from 1.1946 (2016 low). Or, firm break of 1.4376 will indicate long term bullish reversal. In any case, for now, outlook will stay bullish as long as 1.2582 resistance turned support holds.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2135; (P) 1.2166; (R1) 1.2223; More

GBP/USD’s consolidation from 1.2036 is still in progress and intraday bias remains neutral. Outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.2270 resistance holds. Break of 1.2026 will resume the fall from 1.3141. Sustained trading below 1.2075 fibonacci level would carry larger bearish implication, and target 1.1801 support next. On the upside, firm break of 1.2270 resistance will indicate short term bottoming, and turn bias back to the upside.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.3141 medium term top could still be a correction to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low) only. But risk of complete trend reversal is rising. Sustained break of 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.3141 at 1.2075 will pave the way to 61.8% retracement at 1.1417. For now, risk will stay on the downside as long as 55 D EMA (now at 1.2486) holds, in case of rebound.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2734; (P) 1.2762; (R1) 1.2795; More

A temporary low is in place at 1.2722 with 4 hour MACD crossed above signal line. Intraday bias in GBP/USD is turned neutral for consolidations. But upside should be limited below 1.2956 support turned resistance to bring fall resumption. On the downside, below 1.2722 will extend recent decline to 161.8% projection of 1.3362 to 1.2956 from 1.3212 at 1.2555 next.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA (now at 1.4141). Current downside acceleration argues that it’s possibly resuming long term down trend. In any case, outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.3212 resistance holds. Retest of 1.1946 should be seen next.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD stayed inside range trading below 1.2708 last week. Initial bias stays neutral this week first. On the upside, break of 1.2708 resistance will indicate that correction from 1.2826 has completed. Intraday bias will be back on the upside for retesting 1.2826. Nevertheless, decisive break of 1.2499 will argue that whole rise from 1.2036 has completed and turn near term outlook bearish.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low). Rise from 1.2036 is seen as the second leg, which could be still in progress. But upside should be limited by 1.3141 to bring the third leg of the pattern. Meanwhile, break of 1.2499 support will argue that the third leg has already started for 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 (2022 low) to 1.3141 at 1.2075 again.

In the long term picture, a long term bottom should be in place at 1.0351 on bullish convergence condition in M MACD. But momentum of the rebound from 1.3051 argues GBP/USD is merely in consolidation, rather than trend reversal. Range trading is likely between 1.0351/4248 for some more time.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2905; (P) 1.2962; (R1) 1.2996; More….

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the downside for the moment. Current development suggest that corrective rebound from 1.2391 has completed earlier than expected at 1.3381. Further decline should be seen to 1.2773 support. Firm break there will confirm this bearish case and target 1.2391 low again. On the upside, though, break of 1.3019 minor resistance will dampen this bearish case and turn bias back to the upside for rebound.

In the bigger picture, medium term decline from 1.4376 (2018 high) halted after hitting 1.2391. Rise from 1.2391 could have completed after just missing 50% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2391 at 1.338. Such rebound could be a correction to fall from 1.4376 only. Break of 1.2773 support will affirm this bearish case and target 1.2391. Break of 1.2391 will resume the fall from 1.4376 to 1.1946 (2016 low).

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3799; (P) 1.3847; (R1) 1.3926; More….

Focus remains on 1.3908 resistance in GBP/USD. Decisive break there will indicate that fall from 1.4248 has completed. Intraday bias will be turned back to the upside for retesting this high. On the downside, below 1.3766 minor support will turn bias to the downside for 1.3570. Break there will resume the fall from 1.4248 to 1.3482 resistance turned support.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.3482 resistance turned support holds, up trend from 1.1409 should still continue. Decisive break of 1.4376 resistance will carry larger bullish implications. However, firm break of 1.3482 support will argue that the rise from 1.1409 has completed. GBP/USD would then be seen in another leg of long term range pattern between 1.1409 and 1.4376. Deeper fall could then be seen to 61.8% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.2493, and even below.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2839; (P) 1.2889; (R1) 1.2922; More

Focus in GBP/USD remains on 1.2844 support. Firm break there will confirm completion of the corrective rebound from 1.2661. In such case, deeper fall should be seen to retest 1.2661. Decisive break there will resume larger down trend from 1.4376. On the upside, above 1.3042 will bring another rise. But upside should be limited by 1.3316 fibonacci level to finish the rebound and bring near term reversal.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA (now at 1.4099). The structure and momentum of the fall from 1.4376 argues that it’s resuming long term down trend. And this will be the preferred case as long as 38.2% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2661 at 1.3316 holds. However, firm break of 1.3316 would bring stronger rebound to 61.8% retracement at 1.3721. And, the eventual depth of the fall from 1.4376, and the chance of hitting 1.1946 low, will depend on the strength of the interim corrective rebound from 1.2661.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

GBP/USD is staying in consolidation from 1.2079 and intraday bias remains neutral first. In case of stronger recovery, upside should be limited by 1.2382 support turned resistance to bring fall resumption. On the downside, break of 1.2079 will target 1.1946 low. Break will target 100% projection of 1.4376 to 1.2391 from 1.3381 at 1.1396.

In the bigger picture, down trend from 1.4376 (2018 high) is extending towards 1.1946 low. We’d be cautious on bottoming there. But decisive break will resume down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) to 61.8% projection of 1.7190 to 1.1946 from 1.4376 at 1.1135. In any case, medium term outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.3381 resistance holds, in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD is staying in range between 4 hour 55 EMA and 1.2647 temporary top and intraday bias remains neutral first. Another rise is mildly in favor as long as 1.2164 support holds. Above 1.2647 will extend the rebound from 1.1409 to 61.8% projection of 1.1409 to 1.2485 from 1.2164 at 1.2829. However, break of 1.2164 support will indicate completion of the rebound and turn bias back to the downside for retesting 1.1409 low.

In the bigger picture, down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) is still in progress. Next medium term target will be 61.8% projection of 1.7190 to 1.1946 from 1.3514 at 1.0273. In any case, outlook will remain bearish as long as 1.3514 resistance holds, in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

No change in GBP/USD’s outlook as range trading continues. Intraday bias remains neutral for the moment. On the upside, break of 1.4008 should reaffirm the bullish case that correction from 1.4240 has completed. Further rise should be seen back to retest 1.4240 high. However, break of 1.3668 will extend the correction from 1.4240 with another falling leg.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.3482 resistance turned support holds, up trend from 1.1409 should still continue. Decisive break of 1.4376 resistance will carry larger bullish implications and target 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1409 (2020 low) at 1.5134. However, firm break of 1.3482 support will argue that the rise from 1.1409 has completed and bring deeper fall to 1.2675 support and below.

GBP/USD’s rebound from 1.3101 temporary low is in progress and could extend higher. Still, near term outlook will remain bearish as long as 1.3471 resistance holds. And larger decline is expected to continue. On the downside, break of 1.3101 will resume the fall from 1.4376 for 61.8% retracement of 1.1946 to 1.4376 at 1.2875 next.

In the bigger picture, current development suggests that whole medium term rebound from 1.1936 (2016 low) has completed at 1.4376 already, with trend line broken firmly, on bearish divergence condition in daily MACD, after rejection from 55 month EMA (now at 1.4177). 61.8% retracement of 1.1936 (2016 low) to 1.4376 at 1.2874 is the next target. We’ll pay attention to the reaction from there to asses the chance of long term down trend resumption. For now, outlook will stay bearish as long as 55 day EMA (now at 1.3527) holds, even in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD rises to as high as 1.2924 so far as rebound from 1.2661 short term bottom extends. Intraday bias stays on the upside for 1.2956 support turned resistance. At this point, we’d still expect upside to be limited by 1.2956 to bring larger down trend resumption. On the downside, below 1.2811 minor support will turn bias to the downside for retesting 1.2661 low first. However, decisive break of 1.2956 will turn focus to 1.3212 key resistance instead.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA (now at 1.4091). Current downside acceleration argues that it’s possibly resuming long term down trend. In any case, outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.3212 resistance holds. Retest of 1.1946 should be seen next.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral and more consolidation could be seen above 1.1874. Outlook remains bearish with 1.2405 resistance intact. On the downside, break of 1.1874 will resume larger down trend to 100% projection of 1.2666 to 1.1932 from 1.2405 at 1.1671. Break there will target 1.1409 long term support.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4248 (2018 high) could be a leg inside the pattern from 1.1409 (2020 low), or resuming the longer term down trend. Deeper decline is expected as long as 1.2666 resistance holds. Next target is 1.1409 low. However, firm break of 1.2666 will bring stronger rise back to 55 week EMA (now at 1.3065).

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Range trading continues in GBP/USD and intraday bias remains neutral for the moment. Outlook is unchanged for now. On the downside, below 1.3777 will extend the correction from 1.4240 with another fall. But downside should be contained by 38.2% retracement of 1.2675 to 1.4240 at 1.3642 to bring rebound. On the upside, above 1.4016 will bring retest of 1.4240 high first.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.1409 medium term bottom is in progress. Further rally would be seen to 1.4376 resistance and above. Decisive break there will carry larger bullish implications and target 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 (2007 high) to 1.1409 (2020 low) at 1.5134. On the downside, break of 1.3482 resistance turned support is needed to be first indication of completion of the rise. Otherwise, outlook will stay cautiously bullish even in case of deep pullback.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

No change in GBP/USD’s outlook and intraday bias remains neutral first. More sideway trading could be seen. For now, further rise is still mildly in favor as long as 1.2960 support holds. On the upside, decisive break of 1.3381 will extend the rise from 1.2391 and target 61.8% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2391 at 1.3618 next. However, on the downside, sustained break of 1.2960 will indicate that rebound from 1.2391 has completed earlier than expected. Deeper fall would then be seen to 1.2773 support for confirmation.

In the bigger picture, medium term decline from 1.4376 (2018 high) should have completed at 1.2391. Rise from 1.2391 is seen as the third leg of the corrective pattern from 1.1946 (2016 low). Further rise could be seen through 1.4376 in medium term. On the downside, though, break of 1.2773 support will dampen this view. Focus will be turned back to 1.2391 low and break will resume the fall from 1.4376 to 1.1946.
