Despite recovering to 1.2192, GBP/USD failed to sustain above 4 hour 55 EMA and retreated. Intraday bias is turned neutral again. On the upside, break of 1.2192 will affirm the case that corrective pattern from 1.2445 has completed with three waves to 1.1960. Further rise would be seen back to 1.2445/6. Decisive break there will resume larger rise from 1.0351. On the downside, through break of 1.1960 will extend the corrective pattern with another fall to 1.1840 support and possibly below.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.0351 medium term bottom is at least correcting whole down trend from 1.4248 (2021 high). Further rise is expected as long as 1.1644 resistance turned support holds. Next target is 61.8% retracement of 1.4248 to 1.0351 at 1.2759. Sustained break there will pave the way back to 1.4248.

GBP/USD is staying in range of 1.2036/2336 despite current recovery. Intraday bias remains neutral for the moment, and downside breakout is mildly in favor. On the downside, decisive break of 1.2036 will resume whole decline from 1.3141 for 1.1801 support next. However, break of 1.2336 will turn bias back to the upside for 38.2% retracement of 1.3141 to 1.2036 at 1.2458.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.3141 medium term top could still be a correction to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low) only. But risk of complete trend reversal is rising. Sustained break of 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.3141 at 1.2075 will pave the way to 61.8% retracement at 1.1417. For now, risk will stay on the downside as long as 55 D EMA (now at 1.2384) holds, in case of rebound.

GBP/USD is staying in consolidation below 1.2793 and intraday bias remains neutral at this point. While deeper retreat cannot be ruled out, outlook will stay cautiously bullish as long as 1.2499 support holds. On the upside, firm break of 1.2793 will resume the rally from 1.2036. Next target is 61.8% projection of 1.2068 to 1.2731 from 1.2499 at 1.2909.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern to rise from 1.0351 (2022 low). Rise from 1.2036 is seen as the second leg that’s in progress. Upside should be limited by 1.3141 to bring the third leg of the pattern. Meanwhile, break of 1.2499 support will argue that the third leg has already started for 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 (2022 low) to 1.3141 at 1.2075 again.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2737; (P) 1.2777; (R1) 1.2810; More…..

Range trading continues in GBP/USD and intraday bias stays neutral for the moment. Further rise is in favor as long as 1.2693 support holds. Above 1.2816 will resume the rally from 1.2298 to 1.2892 resistance next. On the downside, break of 1.2693 minor support will turn intraday bias to the downside for deeper pullback instead.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern. Fall from 1.2892 is seen as the third leg which might have completed already. Break of 1.2892 resistance will argue that larger up trend from 1.0351(2022 low) is ready to resume through 1.3141. Meanwhile, break of 1.2445 support will extend the corrective pattern with another decline instead.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Intraday bias in GBP./USD is turned neutral with a temporary top in place at 1.3214. Rise from 1.2661 could still extend higher. But as it’s seen as a corrective move, upside should be limited by 1.3316 to bring near term reversal. On the downside, break of 1.3042 resistance turn support will argue that rebound from 1.2661 might be completed. In such case, intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for 1.2784 support to confirm.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA (now at 1.4062). The structure and momentum of the fall from 1.4376 argues that it’s resuming long term down trend. And this will be the preferred case as long as 38.2% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2661 at 1.3316 holds. However, firm break of 1.3316 would bring stronger rebound to 61.8% retracement at 1.3721. And, the eventual depth of the fall from 1.4376, and the chance of hitting 1.1946 low, will depend on the strength of the interim corrective rebound from 1.2661.

Break of 1.1023 minor support argues that GBP/USD’s rebound from 1.0351 has completed at 1.1494. Intraday bias is back on the downside for retesting 1.0351 low. For now, risk will stay on the downside as long as 1.1494 resistance holds, in case of recovery.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4248 (2018 high) is resuming long term down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high). Next target is 100% projection of 2.1161 to 1.3503 from 1.7190 at 0.9532. There is no scope of a medium term rebound as long as 1.1759 support turned resistance holds.

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral for consolidation below 1.3215 temporary top. In case of deeper retreat, downside should be contained well above 1.2827 support to bring rise resumption. On the upside, break of 1.3215 will resume the rise from 1.1958 to 1.3381 resistance next.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.1958 medium term bottom is seen as the third leg of consolidation from 1.1946. Further rise would be seen back towards 1.4376 resistance. For now, this will remain the favored case as long as 1.2582 resistance turned support holds. However, firm break of 1.2582 will turn focus back to 1.1946 low.

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains bounded in consolidation from 1.3012 and intraday bias stays neutral for the moment. Deeper retreat cannot be ruled out. But downside should be contained above 1.2582 resistance turned support to bring rise resumption. On the upside, break of 1.3012 will resume the rise from 1.1958 to 161.8% projection of 1.1958 to 1.2582 from 1.2195 at 1.3205 next.

In the bigger picture, current development affirms the case of medium term bottoming at 1.1958, ahead of 1.1946 (2016 low). At this point, rise from 1.1958 is seen as the third leg of consolidation from 1.1946. Further rise would be seen back towards 1.4376 resistance. For now, this will remain the favored case as long as 1.2582 resistance turned support holds.

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the downside for the moment. Decisive break of 1.2517 support will carry larger bearish implication. Next near term target will be 61.8% projection of 1.2892 to 1.2538 from 1.2708 at 1.2489. Firm break there could trigger downside acceleration to 100% projection at 1.2354. On the upside, above 1.2581 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral first. But risk will stay on the downside as long as 1.2708 resistance holds, in case of recovery.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low). Rise from 1.2036 is seen as the second leg, which might still be in progress. But upside should be limited by 1.3141 to bring the third leg of the pattern. Meanwhile, firm break of 1.2517 support will argue that the third leg has already started for 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 (2022 low) to 1.3141 at 1.2075 again.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3125; (P) 1.3199; (R1) 1.3249; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains on the downside for the moment. Decline from 1.4376 is in progress. Sustained break of 50% retracement of 1.1946 to 1.4376 at 1.3161 will pave the way to 61.8% retracement at 1.2875 next. On the upside, break of 1.3471 resistance is now needed to indicate short term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish in case of recovery.

In the bigger picture, current development suggests that whole medium term rebound from 1.1936 (2016 low) has completed at 1.4376 already, with trend line broken firmly, on bearish divergence condition in daily MACD, after rejection from 55 month EMA (now at 1.4177). 61.8% retracement of 1.1936 (2016 low) to 1.4376 at 1.2874 is the next target. We’ll pay attention to the reaction from there to asses the chance of long term down trend resumption. For now, outlook will stay bearish as long as 55 day EMA (now at 1.3527) holds, even in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2112; (P) 1.2157; (R1) 1.2193; More

No change in GBP/USD’s outlook as range trading continues. Intraday bias stays neutral first. With 1.2336 resistance intact, downside breakout is expected. On the downside, firm break of 1.2036 will resume whole decline from 1.3141 for 1.1801 support next.

For now, risk will stay on the downside as long as 55 D EMA (now at 1.2346) holds, in case of rebound.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

GBP/USD is staying in consolidation from 1.2343 and intraday bias remains neutral for the moment. Further rise remains mildly in favor as long as 1.1898 support holds. On the upside, break of 1.2343 will resume the rally from 1.0351 and target 1.2759 medium term fibonacci level next. However, firm break of 1.1898 support will confirm short term topping and turn bias back to the downside.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2265; (P) 1.2305; (R1) 1.2329; More….

With 1.2161 minor support intact, GBP/USD’s rebound from 1.1958 is in favor to extend higher to 38.2% retracement of 1.3381 to 1.1958 at 1.2502 first. Break will target 61.8% retracement at 1.2837. On the downside, break of 1.2162 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for 1.1958 support instead.

In the bigger picture, we’d remain cautious on medium term bottoming around 1.1946 (2016 low). Sustained trading above 55 week EMA (now at 1.2779) will extend the consolidation pattern from 1.1946 with another rise to 1.4376 resistance. Nevertheless, decisive break of 1.1946 will resume down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) to 61.8% projection of 1.7190 to 1.1946 from 1.4376 at 1.1135.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3628; (P) 1.3703; (R1) 1.3752; More….

GBP/USD’s fall accelerates to as low as 1.3586 so far and intraday bias remains on the downside for 1.3482 key support. Decisive break there will indicate that it’s already correcting whole up trend from 1.1409. Next target will then be 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.3164. On the upside, above 1.3688 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral first. But further fall will remain in favor as long as 1.3908 resistance holds.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.3482 resistance turned support holds, up trend from 1.1409 should still continue. Decisive break of 1.4376 resistance will carry larger bullish implications. However, firm break of 1.3482 support will argue that the rise from 1.1409 has completed. GBP/USD would then be seen in another leg of long term range pattern between 1.1409 and 1.4376. Deeper fall could then be seen to 61.8% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.2493, and even below.

GBP/USD Weekly Outlook

GBP/USD was still bounded in range above 1.1932 last week and outlook is unchanged. Initial bias remains neutral this week first. On the downside, break of 1.1932 will resume larger down trend from 1.4248. However, on the upside, above 1.2187 minor resistance will turn bias back to the upside for 55 day EMA (now at 1.2480) instead.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.4248 (2018 high) could be a leg inside the pattern from 1.1409 (2020 low), or resuming the longer term down trend. Deeper decline is expected as long as 1.2666 resistance holds. Next target is 1.1409 low. However, firm break of 1.2666 will bring stronger rise back to 55 week EMA (now at 1.31403).

In the longer term picture, rebound from 1.1409 long term bottom should have completed at 1.4248 already, well ahead of 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 to 1.1409 at 1.5134. The development argues that price actions from 1.1409 are developing into a corrective pattern only. That is, long term bearishness is retained for resuming the down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high) at a later stage.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

GBP/USD’s fall from 1.2678 resumed by breaking through 1.2371 and intraday bias is back on the downside. Current decline is seen as correcting whole up trend from 1.0351. Deeper fall should be seen to 1.1801 cluster support (38.2% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.2678 at 1.1789). On the upside, above 1.2468 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral first.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.1801 support holds, rise from 1.0351 medium term bottom (2022 low) is expected to extend further. Sustained break of 61.8% retracement of 1.4248 (2021 high) to 1.0351 at 1.2759 will add to the case of long term bullish trend reversal. However, firm break of 1.1801 will indicate rejection by 1.2759, and bring deeper decline, even as a correction.

GBP/USD is still extending the consolidation from 1.2036 and intraday bias remains neutral. Downside breakout is in favor with 1.2336 resistance intact. In the bigger picture, fall from 1.3141 medium term top could still be a correction to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low) only. But risk of complete trend reversal is rising. GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Intraday bias in GBP/USD stays on the upside as rise from 1.3410 is still in progress, for 1.3912 key structural resistance. Firm break there will indicate that the correction from 1.4248 is complete with three waves down to 1.3410. Further rally would then be seen to retest 1.4248 high. On the downside, however, break of 1.3567 support will turn bias back to the downside for 1.3410 low instead.

In the bigger picture, the structure of the fall from 1.4248 suggests that it’s a correction to the up trend from 1.1409 (2020 low) only. While deeper fall cannot be ruled out yet, downside should be contained by 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.3164, at least on first attempt, to bring rebound. On the upside, firm break of 1.4376 key resistance (2018 high) will add to the case of long term bullish reversal. However, sustained trading below 1.3164 will revive some medium term bearishness and target 61.8% retracement at 1.2493.

Sustained break there will pave the way to 1.2759 medium term fibonacci level. For now, break of 1.1777 support is needed to indicate short term topping.
