Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.3173; (P) 1.3209; (R1) 1.3245; More

Range trading continues in GBP/USD and intraday bias remains neutral. On the downside, firm break of 1.3164 medium term fibonacci level will carry larger bearish implication. Fall from 1.4248 should resume and target 161.8% projection of 1.4248 to 1.3570 from 1.3833 at 1.2736. On the upside, , break of 1.3372 will resume the rise from 1.3158 to 55 day EMA (now at 1.3428).

In the bigger picture, focus remains on 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.3164. Sustained break there will argue that whole rise from 1.1409 has completed at 1.4248, after rejection by 1.4376 long term resistance. That will revive some medium term bearishness and and target 61.8% retracement at 1.2493. However, strong rebound from current level will revive argue that up trend from 1.1409 is still in progress, and probably ready to resume.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2551; (P) 1.2577; (R1) 1.2624; More…

Intraday bias in GBP/USD is turned neutral first with current recovery. Strong support could be seen from 1.2499 structural support to complete the correction from 1.2826. Break of 1.2628 minor resistance will turn bias back to the upside for strong rebound. However, decisive break of 1.2499 will argue that whole rise from 1.2036 has completed and turn near term outlook bearish.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.3141 medium term top are seen as a corrective pattern to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low). Rise from 1.2036 is seen as the second leg that’s still in progress. Upside should be limited by 1.3141 to bring the third leg of the pattern. Meanwhile, break of 1.2499 support will argue that the third leg has already started for 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 (2022 low) to 1.3141 at 1.2075 again.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1832; (P) 1.1955; (R1) 1.2036; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD is back on the downside with break of 1.1899 temporary low. Sustained trading below 55 day EMA (now at 1.19383) will extend the fall from 1.2445 to 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.2445 at 1.1645 next. However, strong rebound from 55 day EMA, followed by break of 1.2086 resistance, will argue that the pull back from 1.2445 has completed, and turn bias back to the upside for retesting this high.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.0351 medium term bottom is at least correcting whole down trend from 1.4248 (2021 high). Further rise is expected as long as 1.1644 resistance turned support holds. Next target is 61.8% retracement of 1.4248 to 1.0351 at 1.2759. Sustained break there will pave the way back to 1.4248. This will remain the favored case as long as 55 day EMA (now at 1.1916) holds.

GBP/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2985; (P) 1.3021; (R1) 1.3077; More

GBP/USD’s rise from 1.2692 is still in progress and intraday bias remains on the upside for 1.3257/3297 resistance zone. Such rally is seen as the third leg of consolidation pattern from 1.2661. Hence, we’d expect strong resistance from 1.3316 fibonacci level to limit upside to bring down trend resumption eventually. On the downside, below 1.2951 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for 1.2692 instead.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA. The structure and momentum of the fall from 1.4376 argues that it’s resuming long term down trend. And this will be the preferred case as long as 38.2% retracement of 1.4376 to 1.2661 at 1.3316 holds. However, firm break of 1.3316 would bring stronger rebound to 61.8% retracement at 1.3721. And, the eventual depth of the fall from 1.4376, and the chance of hitting 1.1946 low, will depend on the strength of the interim corrective rebound from 1.2661.

GBP/USD’s rebound from 1.2661 extended to as high as 1.3038 so far and intraday bias stays on the upside. Current development suggests medium term bottoming at 1.2661, on bullish convergence condition in daily MACD. Further rise should be seen to 55 day EMA (now at 1.3058) and then 1.3212 resistance. For now, we’d expect strong resistance from 1.3316 fibonacci level to limit upside, at least on first attempt. On the downside, break of 1.2844 support will argue that the rebound is completed and bring retest of 1.2661 low.

In the bigger picture, whole medium term rebound from 1.1946 (2016 low) should have completed at 1.4376 already, after rejection from 55 month EMA (now at 1.4091).

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2692; (P) 1.2740; (R1) 1.2795; More

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral for the moment. On the downside, below 1.2618, and sustained trading below 1.2678 resistance turned support will argue that it’s already in a larger correction. Deeper decline would then be seen to 1.2306 support next. Nevertheless, firm break of 1.2796 will indicate that the pull back has completed, and turn bias back to the upside for stronger rebound.

In the bigger picture, a medium term top could be in place at 1.3141 already, on bearish divergence condition in D MACD. Sustained trading below 55 D EMA (now at 1.2726) should confirm this case, and bring deeper fall to 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.3141 at 1.2075, as a correction to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low). For now, rise will stay mildly on the downside as long as 1.3141 resistance holds, in case of strong rebound.

GBP/USD Mid-Day Outlook

GBP/USD’s decline is still in progress and intraday bias stays on the downside. Fall from 1.3141 should target 1.2075 fibonacci level. Decisive break there would carry larger bearish implication and target 1.1801 support next. On the upside, above 1.2232 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral and bring consolidations. But near term outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.2618 support turned resistance holds, in case of strong recovery.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.3141 medium term top could still be a correction to up trend from 1.0351 (2022 low) only. But risk of complete trend reversal is rising. Sustained break of 38.2% retracement of 1.0351 to 1.3141 at 1.2075 will pave the way to 61.8% retracement at 1.1417. For now, risk will stay on the downside as long as 55 D EMA (now at 1.2541) holds, in case of rebound.

GBP/USD’s rebound from 1.2154 extended with break of 1.2637 resistance. Intraday bias is now on the upside and further rally would be seen to 55 day EMA (now at 1.2756). Sustained break there will target 1.2999 support turned resistance next. On the downside, though, break of 1.2480 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for retesting 1.2154 low instead.

In the bigger picture, based on current momentum, fall from 1.4248 (2018 high) at least at the same degree as the rise from 1.1409 (2020 low). That is, fall from 1.4248 could be a leg inside the pattern from 1.1409, or resuming the longer term down trend. In either case, deeper decline is expected as long as 1.2999 support turned resistance holds. Next target is 1.1409 low.

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral for consolidation above 1.2854 temporary low. Further recovery cannot be ruled out but risk will stay on the downside as long as 1.3217 resistance holds. As noted before, current development suggests that rebound from 1.2391 has completed at 1.3217 already, after rejection by 1.3174 key resistance. On the downside, break of 1.2854 will turn bias to the downside for retesting 1.2391 low.

In the bigger picture, the rejection by 1.3174 key resistance revived the original view on GBP/USD. That is, decline from 1.4376 is possibly resuming long term down trend from 2.1161 (2007 high). Firm break of 1.2391 will solidify this bearish case and target 1.1946 (2016 low). However, decisive break of 1.3174 will invalidate this bearish case again and turn outlook bullish.

Intraday bias in GBP/USD remains neutral and outlook is unchanged. On the upside, break of 1.3642 will resume the rebound from 1.3356 to 1.3748 resistance. Firm break there will revive the bullish case that correction from 1.4248 has completed with three waves down to 1.3158. Further rally should then be seen to retest 1.4248 high. On the downside, however, break of 1.3356 will bring retest of 1.3158 low.

In the bigger picture, as long as 38.2% retracement of 1.1409 to 1.4248 at 1.3164 holds, up trend from 1.1409 (2020 low) is still in progress. On resumption, next target will be 38.2% retracement of 2.1161 to 1.1409 at 1.5134. Nevertheless sustained break of 1.3164 will argue that whole rise from 1.1409 has completed and bring deeper fall to 61.8% retracement at 1.2493.

Next medium term target will be 61.8% projection of 1.7190 to 1.1946 from 1.3514 at 1.0273. In any case, outlook will remain bearish as long as 1.3514 resistance holds, in case of strong rebound.
