GBP/JPY Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 195.88; (P) 196.49; (R1) 197.11; More

Intraday bias in GBP/JPY is turned neutral with current retreat. On the downside, break of 194.74 support will suggest that corrective pattern from 200.53 has started the third leg. Deeper fall would be seen back to 191.34 support and below. For now, risk will stay on the downside as long as 197.07 resistance holds, in case of recovery.

In the bigger picture, a medium term top could be in place at 200.53 after breaching 199.80 long term fibonacci level. As long as 55 W EMA (now at 183.41) holds, fall from there is seen as correcting the rise from 178.32 only. However, sustained break of 55 W EMA will argue that larger scale correction is underway and target 178.32 support.

Range trading continues in GBP/JPY and intraday bias remains neutral. Corrective pattern from 168.67 would extend for a while. On the upside, break of 163.91 will bring stronger rise to 166.31 resistance. On the downside, below 160.07 will turn bias to the downside for 159.42 and below.

In the bigger picture, up trend from 123.94 (2020 low) is still in progress. Sustained break of 61.8% retracement of 195.86 (2015 high) to 122.75 (2016 low) at 167.93 will be a long term bullish signal, and could pave the way back to 195.86 high. This will remain the favored case as long as 155.57 support holds, even in case of deep pull back.

GBP/JPY Daily Outlook

Intraday bias in GBP/JPY stays neutral for consolidations below 201.59. Further rally is expected as long as 197.18 support holds. However, considering bearish divergence condition in 4H MACD, firm break of 197.18 will confirm short term topping, and turn bias back to the downside for 191.34 support instead.

In the bigger picture, as long as 188.63 resistance turned support holds, long term up trend is expected to continue. Next target is 100% projection of 155.33 to 188.63 from 178.32 at 211.62.

GBP/JPY Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 141.10; (P) 142.01; (R1) 142.50; More…

GBP/JPY’s strong recovery today indicates temporary bottoming at 141.17. Intraday bias is turned neutral first. As long as 144.02 support turned resistance holds, another decline remains mildly in favor. Below 141.17 will target 139.29/47 key support zone. However, considering bullish convergence condition in 4 hour MACD, decisive break of 144.02 will suggest near term reversal. Stronger rally should then be seen to 55 day EMA (now at 145.04) and above.

In the bigger picture, as long as 139.29 cluster support (50% retracement of 122.36 to 156.59 at 139.47) holds, up trend from 122.36 (2016 low) could still extend beyond 156.69 high. However, decisive break of 139.29/47 will suggest that such up trend is completed and turn outlook bearish. In that case, next target is 61.8% retracement at 135.43.

GBP/JPY is extending the consolidations below 201.59 and intraday bias stays neutral.

GBP/JPY Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 166.60; (P) 166.98; (R1) 167.66; More…

Intraday bias in GBP/JPY stays neutral and sideway trading continues. On the downside, break of 164.02 should resume the whole fall from 172.11 through 163.02 support. Nevertheless, on the upside, break of 168.99 resistance will bring stronger rebound to retest 172.11 high instead.

In the bigger picture, medium term upside momentum has been diminishing as seen in bearish divergence condition in weekly MACD. Sustained break of 55 week EMA (now at 160.66) will argue that it’s already correcting whole up trend from 123.94 (2020 low). Nevertheless, before that, such up trend could still extend through 172.11 high.

GBP/JPY Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 150.96; (P) 151.26; (R1) 151.69; More…

Intraday bias in GBP/JPY remains mildly on the downside for the moment. Deeper fall would be seen back to 148.43/149.16 support zone. Decisive break there will resume whole decline from 156.05 high, and carry larger bearish implications. On the upside, though, break of 152.82 will resume the rebound to 153.42 near term structural resistance.

In the bigger picture, rise from 123.94 is seen as the third leg of the pattern from 122.75 (2016 low). As long as 149.03 support holds, such rise would still resume at a later stage. However, sustained break of 149.03 support will indicate rejection by 156.59. Fall from 156.05 would be at least correcting the whole rise from 123.94. Deeper fall would be seen back 38.2% retracement of 123.94 to 156.05 at 143.78 first.

GBP/JPY Daily Outlook

Outlook in GBP/JPY remains unchanged and intraday bias stays neutral. On the downside, break of 155.33 will resume the fall from 172.11 to 153.70 fibonacci level. Nevertheless, considering bullish convergence condition in 4 hour MACD, firm break of 162.32 will argue that such decline has completed, and turn bias back to the upside for 55 day EMA (now at 163.35) and above.

In the bigger picture, as long as 153.02 support turned resistance holds, decline from 172.11 medium term top is expected to continue to 38.2% retracement of 123.94 to 172.11 at 153.70. Sustained break there will raise the change of trend reversal and target 61.8% retracement at 142.34. Nevertheless, break of 153.02 support turned resistance will argue that the decline has completed, and retain medium term bullishness.

Intraday bias in GBP/JPY remains neutral at this point. On the downside, break of 155.57 will extend the correction towards 150.96 key structural support. Nevertheless, on the upside, firm break of 162.16 will indicate that the correction has completed, and bring retest of 168.40 high next.

This will now remain the favored case as long as 150.95 support holds, even in case of deep pull back. However, firm break of 150.95 will indicate rejection by 167.93, and bearish trend reversal.

GBP/JPY drops slightly after failing to break through 153.42 resistance. But it stays in range of 151.14/153.42 and intraday bias remains neutral first. On the upside, break of 153.42/46 resistance will reaffirm the case that correction from 156.05 has completed at 148.43. Intraday bias will be back on the upside for retesting 156.05. On the downside, though, below 151.14 will bring deeper fall back to retest 148.43 instead.

In the bigger picture, rise from 123.94 is seen as the third leg of the pattern from 122.75 (2016 low). Focus remains on 156.59 resistance (2018 high). Sustained break there should confirm long term bullish trend reversal. Next target is 61.8% retracement of 195.86 (2015 high) to 122.75 at 167.93. On the downside, sustained break of 149.03 support, however, will argue that rise from 123.94 has completed. Further break of 142.71 would open up the bearish case for retesting 122.75 low.

GBP/JPY Daily Outlook

GBP/JPY is still holding inside range of 139.44/141.18 and intraday bias remains neutral first. With 139.44 minor support intact, another rise is mildly in favor. On the upside, break of 141.28 will extend the choppy rise from 133.03 to retest 141.71 high. However, below 139.44 minor support will be the first sign of short term reversal. Intraday bias will be turned to the downside for 136.96 support instead.

In the bigger picture, rise from 123.94 is seen as a rising leg of the sideway consolidation pattern from 122.75 (2016 low). As long as 147.95 resistance holds, an eventual downside breakout remains in favor. However, firm break of 147.95 will raise the chance of long term bullish reversal. Focus will then be turned to 156.59 resistance for confirmation.

GBP/JPY Daily Outlook

Intraday bias in GBP/JPY remains on the upside for the moment. Current medium term rise from 122.36 should target 61.8% projection of 122.36 to 148.42 from 139.29 at 155.39 next. On the downside, below 150.12 minor support will turn intraday bias neutral and bring consolidation before staging another rally.

In the bigger picture, the consolidation from 148.42 should have completed and medium term rebound from 122.36 is resuming. Firm break of 38.2% retracement of 196.85 to 122.36 at 150.43 will carry long term bullish implications. In that case, GBP/JPY could target 61.8% retracement at 167.78. For now, the bullish scenario is preferred as long as 139.29 support holds.

GBP/JPY’s sharp fall and break of 146.03 minor support signals short term topping at 147.76. The came after failing to take out 148.09/42 key resistance zone. Intraday bias is turned back to the downside for 55 day EMA (now at 143.48). Break there will target 135.58 key support level again. On the upside, though, decisive break of 148.09/42 will pave the way to long term fibonacci level at 150.43.

In the bigger picture, rise from medium term bottom at 122.36 is expected to continue to 38.2% retracement of 196.85 to 122.36 at 150.43. Decisive break there will carry long term bullish implications and pave the way to 61.8% retracement at 167.78. In case the sideway pattern from 148.42 extends, we’d be looking for strong support from 135.58 and 50% retracement of 122.36 to 148.42 at 135.39 to contain downside.

GBP/JPY is staying in tight range below 152.27 temporary top and intraday bias remains neutral first. On the upside, break of 152.27 will resume the rise from 149.16 to 153.42 resistance first. Decisive break there will argue that whole corrective pattern from 156.05 has completed, and bring retest of this high. On the downside, however, break of 151.32 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for 149.16 support instead.

Intraday bias in GBP/JPY is turned neutral first with current recovery. On the upside, break of 55 4H EMA will bring stronger rebound back toward 197.40 resistance. On the downside, below 191.34 will resume the correction from 200.53. Sustained trading below 55 D EMA (now at 191.42) will target 61.8% retracement of 178.32 to 200.53 at 186.80.

In the bigger picture, a medium term top could be in place at 200.53 after breaching 199.80 long term fibonacci level. As long as 55 W EMA (now at 183.34) holds, fall from there is seen as correcting the rise from 178.32 only. GBP/JPY Daily Outlook

Intraday bias in GBP/JPY remains neutral first. While further rise could be seen, strong resistance might be seen from 169.10 high to limit upside, at least on first attempt. On the downside, below 159.41 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for 148.93 again. However, firm break of 169.10 will confirm resumption of larger up trend.

In the bigger picture, strong support from 38.2% retracement of 123.94 to 169.10 at 151.84 suggests that price actions from 169.10 are developing into a corrective pattern only. That is, rise from 123.94 (2020 low) should resume at a later stage. This will now remain the favored case as long as 148.93 support holds.

Intraday bias in GBP/JPY remains neutral and outlook is unchanged. Consolidation from 193.51 is extending but further rally is expected as long as 190.02 support holds. On the upside, break of 193.51 will resume larger up trend to 195.86 long term resistance. On the downside, though, break of 190.02 will turn bias to the downside for 187.94 support instead.

In the bigger picture, current rally is part of the up trend from 123.94 (2020 low), and is in progress for 195.86 long term resistance (2015 high). Break of 187.94 support is needed to be the first sign of medium term topping. Otherwise, outlook will remain bullish in case of retreat.

GBP/JPY Daily Outlook

GBP/JPY rebounds strongly today but stays in range below 148.87. Intraday bias remains neutral first. As long as 143.72 support holds, further rise is in favor. On the upside, decisive break of 149.48 key resistance will carry larger bullish implication and target 156.58 resistance next. However. sustained break of 143.72 will indicate near term reversal, after rejection by 149.48 key resistance. In that case, intraday bias will be turned to the downside for 141.00 support first.

In the bigger picture, focus is now staying on 149.98 key resistance. Decisive break there should confirm that medium term fall from 156.59 (2018 high) has completed at 131.51 already. Rise from 131.51 is then seen as the third leg of the corrective pattern from 122.36 (2016 low). GBP/JPY should then target 156.59 and above. However, rejection by 149.98 will retain medium term bearishness and could extend the fall from 156.59 through 131.51 to 122.36.

GBP/JPY Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 140.68; (P) 140.96; (R1) 141.45; More….

GBP/JPY is staying in range of 138.65/142.75 and intraday bias remains neutral. On the downside, break of 138.65 will resume the decline from 148.09. In that case, we’d look for bottoming signal around 135.58, which is close to 135.39 fibonacci level, to bring rebound. On the upside, break of 142.75 should confirm completion of the fall from 148.09 and turn bias back to the upside for this resistance.

In the bigger picture, while the fall from 148.09 is deeper than expected, we’re not bearish in the cross yet. Price action from 148.42 is possibly developing into a sideway pattern with fall from 148.09 as the third leg. Deeper decline could be seen but we’re looking for strong support from 135.58 and 50% retracement of 122.36 to 148.42 at 135.39 to contain downside. Rise from 122.36 is still mildly in favor to resume at a later stage. However, sustained break of 135.58/39 will confirm reversal and target a retest on 122.36 low.

GBP/JPY is staying in corrective rebound from 123.94. Further rise could be seen but upside should be limited by 61.8% retracement of 144.95 to 123.94 at 136.92 to bring fall resumption. On the downside, break of 127.33 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for retesting 123.94 low first.

In the bigger picture, current development suggests that price actions from 122.75 (2016 low) are merely a sideway consolidation pattern, which has completed at 147.96. Larger down trend from 195.86 (2015 high) as well as that from 251.09 (2007 high) are possibly resuming. Break of 122.75 should target 61.8% projection of 195.86 to 122.75 from 147.95 at 102.76 next. In any case, outlook will remain bearish as long as 147.95 resistance holds.
