EUR/USD Weekly Outlook

EUR/USD edged lower to 1.1183 but recovered ahead of 1.1176 low. Initial bias remains neutral this week for some more consolidation first. As long as 1.1273 minor resistance holds, further decline is in favor. On the downside, decisive break of 1.1176 will resume the down trend from 1.2555. On the upside, however, break of 1.1273 support turned resistance will indicate short term bottoming. Intraday bias will be turned back to the upside for 1.1448 resistance instead.

In the bigger picture, medium term weakness was revived as the weak rebound from 1.1176 was rejected well below 55 week EMA and failed to sustain above 55 day EMA. Focus is back on 1.1176 low, with 61.8% retracement of 1.0339 (2016 low) to 1.2555 (2018 high) at 1.1186. Decisive break there will resume whole down trend from 1.2555. Such decline target 1.0339 low next. On the upside, firm break of 1.1569 resistance is needed to be the first sign of medium term bottoming. Otherwise, downside breakout will be in favor.

In the long term picture, the rejection from 38.2% retracement of 1.6039 to 1.0339 at 1.2516 argues that long term down trend from 1.6039 (2008 high) might not be over yet. EUR/USD is also held below decade long trend line resistance. Firm break of 61.8% retracement of 1.0339 to 1.2555 at 1.1186 should at least bring a retest on 1.0339 low. This will remain the favored case as long as 1.1569 resistance holds.

EUR/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1267; (P) 1.1294; (R1) 1.1313; More

With 1.1344 minor resistance intact, further fall is mildly in favor to 1.1181 support. Recovery from 1.1107 might have completed earlier than expected at 1.1412. Break of 1.1181 support will confirm and bring retest of 1.1107 low. Though, above 1.1344 minor resistance will turn bias back to the upside to resume the rebound from 1.1107 through 1.1412 instead.

In the bigger picture, considering bullish convergence condition in daily and weekly MACD, a medium term bottom should be in place at 1.1107 after hitting 61.8% retracement of 1.0339 (2016 low) to 1.2555 (2018 high) at 1.1186. Further rise should be seen to 38.2% retracement of 1.2555 to 1.1107 at 1.1660. Reactions from there could indicate whether rebound from 1.1107 is a corrective rise or reversing medium term trend. In any case, risk will stay mildly on the upside as long as 1.1107 low remains intact.

EUR/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1794; (P) 1.1821 (R1) 1.1866; More….

Intraday bias in EUR/USD remains neutral for the moment despite current recovery. On the upside, above 1.1862 will revive near term bullishness. In such case, intraday bias will be turned back to the upside for 1.1960 resistance first. However, decisive break of 1.1712 cluster support (61.8% retracement of 1.1553 to 1.1960 at 1.1708) should confirm completion of rebound from 1.1553 at 1.1960. And in that case, deeper fall should be seen through 1.1553 to extend the medium term decline from 1.2091.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.0339 medium term bottom is seen as a corrective move for the moment. Therefore, in case of another rally, we’d be expect 38.2% retracement of 1.6039 (2008 high) to 1.0339 (2017 low) at 1.2516 to limit upside and bring reversal. Meanwhile, sustained trading below 55 week EMA (now at 1.1435) will suggest that such medium term rebound is completed and could then bring retest of 1.0339 low.

EUR/USD is bounded in consolidation from 1.1111 and intraday bias remains neutral at this point. Near term outlook stays bearish with 1.1324 resistance intact. Further decline is expected. On the downside, break of 1.1111 low will target 100% projection of 1.1569 to 1.1176 from 1.1448 at 1.1105 next.

In the bigger picture, down trend from 1.2555 (2018 high) is still in progress. Current fall should now target 78.6% retracement of 1.0339 (2016 low) to 1.2555 (2018 high) at 1.0813. Sustained break there will pave the way to retest 1.0339. On the downside, break of 1.1448 resistance is needed to be the first sign of medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will stay bearish in case of rebound.

EUR/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1424; (P) 1.1463; (R1) 1.1519; More…..

EUR/USD’s rise from 1.1289 resumed after brief retreat and reaches as high as 1.1508 so far. Intraday bias is back on the upside. Such rise is seen as another rising leg in the correction pattern from 1.1215. Further rally would be see to 1.1569 resistance and above. On the downside, break of 1.1407 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for 1.1289 support instead.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.1814 resistance holds, down trend down trend from 1.2555 medium term top is still in progress and should target 61.8% retracement of 1.0339 (2017 low) to 1.2555 at 1.1186 next. Sustained break there will pave the way to retest 1.0339. However, break of 1.1814 will confirm completion of such down trend and turn medium term outlook bullish.

EUR/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1387; (P) 1.1417 (R1) 1.1467; More…..

EUR/USD faces some resistance from 4 hour 55 EMA (now at 1.1442) and retreats mildly. But for now, recovery from 1.1300 short term bottom is still in favor to extend higher for 1.1509 support turned resistance. However, we’d expect upside to be limited below 1.1745 resistance to bring down trend resumption. On the downside, break of 1.1300 support is now needed to confirm down trend resumption. Otherwise, near term outlook is neutral for more consolidation first.

In the bigger picture, the down trend from 1.2555 medium term is in progress for 61.8% retracement of 1.0339 to 1.2555 at 1.1186. Note again that EUR/USD was rejected by 38.2% retracement of 1.6039 (2008 high) to 1.0339 (2017 low) at 1.2516. That carries some long term bearish implications. Sustained break of 1.1186 could pave the way back to retest 1.0339 low. For now, outlook will remain bearish as long as 38.2% retracement of 1.2555 to 1.1300 at 1.1779 holds, even in case of strong rebound.

EUR/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.0742; (P) 1.0764 (R1) 1.0803; More

Intraday bias in EUR/USD is turned neutral with current retreat. On the upside, break of 1.0786, and sustained trading above 55 day EMA (now at 1.0758) will target 1.0935 resistance next. On the downside, however, break of 1.641 minor support will indicate rejection by 55 day EMA, and turn bias back to the downside for retesting 1.0348 low instead.

In the bigger picture, focus stays on 1.0339 long term support (2017 low). Decisive break there will resume whole down trend from 1.6039 (2008 high). Next target is 61.8% projection of 1.3993 to 1.0339 from 1.2348 at 1.0090. However, firm break of 1.0805 support turned resistance will delay this bearish case and bring medium term corrective rebound first.

EUR/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2236; (P) 1.2285 (R1) 1.2318; More….

No change in EUR/USD’s outlook. With 1.2344 minor resistance intact, deeper fall should be seen to 1.2238 first. Break will target 1.2154 and below. Such development would confirm the rejection by 1.2516 key fibonacci resistance and pave the way to 38.2% retracement of 1.0339 to 1.2555 at 1.1708. However, break of 1.2344 minor resistance will dampen this bearish case and turn bias back to the upside for 1.2475 resistance instead.

In the bigger picture, key fibonacci level at 38.2% retracement of 1.6039 (2008 high) to 1.0339 (2017 low) at 1.2516 remains intact despite attempts to break. Hence, rise from 1.0339 medium term bottom is still seen as a corrective move for the moment. Rejection from 1.2516 will maintain long term bearish outlook and keep the case for retesting 1.0039 alive. Firm break of 1.1553 support will add more medium term bearishness. However, sustained break of 1.2516 will carry larger bullish implication and target 61.8% retracement of 1.6039 to 1.0339 at 1.3862 in medium term.

EUR/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1260; (P) 1.1292; (R1) 1.1330; More….

Intraday bias in EUR/USD stays neutral first. On the upside, above 1.1370 will target 1.1422 high. Break will resume larger rise from 1.0635 to 1.1496 key resistance. However, on the downside, break of 1.1258 minor support will turn bias back to the downside, to extend the consolidation to 38.2% retracement of 1.0635 to 1.1422 at 1.1121.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.1496 resistance holds, whole down trend from 1.2555 (2018 high) should still be in progress. Next target is 1.0339 (2017 low). However, sustained break of 1.1496 will argue that such down trend has completed. Rise from 1.0635 could then be seen as the third leg of the pattern from 1.0339. In this case, outlook will be turned bullish for retesting 1.2555.

EUR/USD Weekly Outlook

EUR/USD edged higher to 1.1422 last week but reversed from there. A short term top should be formed ahead of 1.1496 key resistance. Initial bias is now on the downside this week for 38.2% retracement of 1.0635 to 1.1422 at 1.1121. Sustained break there will argue that whole rebound from 1.0635 has completed and bring deeper fall to 61.8% retracement at 1.0936. On the upside, though, break of 1.1230 minor resistance will turn bias back to the upside for 1.1422 instead.

In the long term picture, outlook remains bearish for now as it’s staying below 55 month EMA, as well as decade long falling trend line. Down trend from 1.6039 (2008 high) is still in favor to extend through 1.0339 down the road. However, sustained trading above 55 month EMA will firstly suggest that fall from 1.2555 has completed. It would also be an early indication on long term bullish reversal. Focus would be back on 1.255 cluster resistance (38.2% retracement of 1.6039 to 1.0339 at 1.2516 ).

EUR/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1732; (P) 1.1757; (R1) 1.1789; More…..

Intraday bias in EUR/USD remains neutral and further rise is in favor as long as 1.1695 minor support holds. Corrective pull back from 1.2011 should have completed at 1.1612. Break of 1.1807 will target a test on 1.2011 high. However, on the downside, below 1.1695 minor support will turn bias to the downside for 1.1612 support. Break will resume the correction from 1.2011 to 38.2% retracement of 1.0635 to 1.2011 at 1.1485.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.0635 is seen as the third leg of the pattern from 1.0339 (2017 low). Further rally rise should be seen to cluster resistance at 1.2555 next, (38.2% retracement of 1.6039 to 1.0339 at 1.2516 ). This will remain the favored case as long as 1.1422 resistance turned support holds.

EUR/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1277; (P) 1.1308; (R1) 1.1359; More…..

A temporary low is formed at 1.1257 in EUR/USD with current recovery. Intraday bias is turned neutral for some consolidations. Upside should be limited below 1.1398 minor resistance to bring fall resumption. We’re holding on to the view that corrective pattern from 1.1215 has completed already. On the downside, below 1.1257 should see further decline through 1.1215 low to 1.1186 fibonacci level. However, break of 1.1398 will dampen this bearish view and bring stronger rebound back to 1.1514/69 resistance zone.

EUR/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1616; (P) 1.1668 (R1) 1.1702; More…..

EUR/USD’s break of 1.1628 minor support suggests that rebound from 1.1507 has completed at 1.1720 already. Intraday bias is turned back to the downside for 1.1507 first. Break will resume whole fall from 1.2555 through 50% retracement of 1.0339 to 1.2555 at 1.1447 to 61.8% retracement at 1.1186. On the upside, above 1.1720 will bring another recovery. But still, upside should be limited by 1.1851 resistance to bring fall resumption eventually.

In the bigger picture, current development suggests that EUR/USD was rejected by 38.2% retracement of 1.6039 (2008 high) to 1.0339 (2017 low) at 1.2516. And, a medium term top was formed at 1.2555 already. Decline from there should extend further to 61.8% retracement of 1.0339 to 1.2555 at 1.1186 and below. For now, even in case of rebound, we won’t consider the fall from 1.2555 as finished as long as 1.1995 resistance holds.

EUR/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1566; (P) 1.1587; (R1) 1.1629; More

Intraday bias in EUR/USD is turned neutral with current recovery. But further decline is expected as long as 1.1691 resistance holds. On the downside, break of 1.1523 will resume the fall from 1.2265, and that from 1.2348 too, for long term fibonacci level at 1.1289 next. However, firm break of 1.1691 will indicate short term bottoming and turn bias back to the upside for stronger rebound, towards 1.1908 resistance.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.2348 should at least be a correction to rise from 1.0635 (2020 low). As long as 1.1908 resistance holds, deeper fall would be seen to 61.8% retracement of 1.0635 to 1.2348 at 1.1289. Nevertheless break of 1.1908 resistance will revive medium term bullishness and turn focus back to 1.2348 high.

EUR/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1162; (P) 1.1190 (R1) 1.1210; More….

Intraday bias in EUR/USD remains neutral for the moment as it’s still bounded in range of 1.1109/1295. With 1.1109 support intact, there is no indication of reversal yet. Decisive break of 1.1298 key resistance will carry larger bullish implication and target 1.1615 resistance next. On the downside, break of 1.1109 support will indicate short term topping and rejection from 1.1298. In such case, intraday bias will be turned to the downside for 1.0838 support.

In the bigger picture, the case for medium term reversal continues to build up with EUR/USD staying far above 55 week EMA (now at 1.0941). Also, bullish convergence condition is seen in weekly MACD. Focus will now be on 1.1298 key resistance. Rejection from there will maintain medium term bearishness and would extend the whole down trend from 1.6039 (2008 high). However, firm break of 1.1298 will indicate reversal. In such case, further rally would be seen back to 1.2042 support turned resistance next.

Intraday bias in EUR/USD remains neutral first. Rebound from 1.1176 is seen as a corrective move. In case of another rise, upside should be limited well below 1.1419 resistance to bring fall resumption. On the downside, break of 1.1176 will extend the down trend from 1.2555 and target 100% projection of 1.1814 to 1.1215 from 1.1569 at 1.0970 next.

In the bigger picture, down trend from 1.2555 medium term top is still in progress. Bearishness is affirmed by sustained trading below falling 55 week EMA. 61.8% retracement of 1.0339 (2017 low) to 1.2555 at 1.1186 is met. Sustained break there will pave the way to retest 1.0339. On the upside, break of 1.1569 resistance will now indicate completion of such down trend and turn medium term outlook bullish.

EUR/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1882; (P) 1.1900; (R1) 1.1930; More….

EUR/USD’s break of 1.1926 temporary top suggests resumption of rebound from 1.1703. Intraday bias is back on the upside for 1.1988 resistance. Firm break there should affirm the case that correction from 1.2348 has completed at 1.1703. EUR/USD should then target 1.2242 key resistance for confirmation. On the downside, below 1.1866 minor support will turn bias back to the downside back to 38.2% retracement of 1.0635 to 1.2348 at 1.1694.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.0635 is seen as the third leg of the pattern from 1.0339 (2017 low). Further rally could be seen to cluster resistance at 1.2555 next, (38.2% retracement of 1.6039 to 1.0339 at 1.2516). This will remain the favored case as long as 1.1602 support holds. However, sustained break of 1.1602 will argue that whole rise from 1.10635 has completed. Deeper fall would be seen to 61.8% retracement of 1.0635 to 1.2348 at 1.1289.

EUR/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1560; (P) 1.1599; (R1) 1.1664; More…..

EUR/USD’s rally is still in progress and intraday bias stays on the upside. Rebound from 1.1300 is expected to target 38.2% retracement of 1.2555 to 1.1300 at 1.1779. We’d expect upside to be limited there, at least on initial attempt, to bring near term reversal. On the downside, below 1.1529 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for retesting 1.1300 low. But after all, consolidation from 1.1300 will extend for a while before completion.

In the bigger picture, a medium term bottom should be in place at 1.1300, on bullish convergence condition in daily MACD and some consolidations would be seen. But still, note that EUR/USD was rejected by 38.2% retracement of 1.6039 (2008 high) to 1.0339 (2017 low) at 1.2516. That carries some long term bearish implications. Thus, we’d expect fall from 1.2555 high to resume after consolidation completes. Below 1.1300 should send EUR/USD through 61.8% retracement of 1.0339 to 1.2555 at 1.1186. And, in that case, EUR/USD would head to retest 1.0339 (2017 low).

EUR/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1740; (P) 1.1811; (R1) 1.1868; More…..

EUR/USD recovers ahead of 1.1711 support but stays well below 1.1965 resistance. Intraday bias remains neutral first and more consolidations could be seen. Further rise will remain mildly in favor as long as 1.1711 support holds. Break of 1.1965 will extend the whole rise from 1.0635. However, considering bearish divergence condition in 4 hour MACD, break of 1.1711 should confirm short term topping. Intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for 55 day EMA (now at 1.1552).

In the bigger picture, down trend from 1.2555 (2018 high) has completed at 1.0635 already. Rise form 1.0635 is seen as the third leg of the pattern from 1.0339 (2017 low). Further rally rise should be seen to cluster resistance at 1.2555 next, (38.2% retracement of 1.6039 to 1.0339 at 1.2516 ). This will remain the favored case as long as 1.1422 resistance turned support holds.

EUR/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.0717; (P) 1.0764 (R1) 1.0845; More…..

EUR/USD’s choppy rise from 1.0339 resumed by taking out 1.0774 and reaches as high as 1.0811 so far. Intraday bias is back on the upside for 1.0872 resistance. At this point, we’re still viewing choppy rise from 1.0339 as a corrective move. Thus, upside should be limited by 1.0872 resistance and bring reversal. On the downside, break of 1.0619 will indicate that such rise is completed and turn bias to the downside for retesting 1.0339 low.

In the bigger picture, whole down trend from 1.6039 (2008 high) is in progress. Such down trend is expected to extend to 61.8% projection of 1.3993 to 1.0461 from 1.1298 at 0.9115. On the upside, break of 1.1298 resistance is needed to confirm medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will stay bearish in case of rebound.
