EUR/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1834; (P) 1.1863 (R1) 1.1897; More

EUR/USD is staying in consolidation below 1.1908 temporary top. Intraday bias stays neutral at this point. Another rise is expected as long as 1.1722 support holds. Above 1.1908 will target 1.2 psychological level. Considering bearish divergence condition in 4 hour MACD, we’ll be cautious on topping around there to bring correction. On the downside, break of 1.1722 will indicate short term topping and bring deeper pull back to 55 day EMA (now at 1.1414).

In the bigger picture, an important bottom was formed at 1.0339 on bullish convergence condition in weekly MACD. Sustained break of 55 month EMA (now at 1.1760) will pave the way to key fibonacci level at 38.2% retracement of 1.6039 (2008 high) to 1.0339 (2017 low) at 1.2516. While rise from 1.0339 is strong, there is no confirmation that it’s developing into a long term up trend yet. Hence, we’ll be cautious on strong resistance from 1.2516 to limit upside. But for now, medium term outlook will remain bullish as long as 1.1295 support holds, in case of pull back.

EUR/USD Weekly Outlook

EUR/USD dipped to 1.0493 last week but quickly recovered. Initial bias remains neutral this week first. Though, with 1.0713 minor resistance intact, deeper decline is still expected. We’re viewing fall from 1.0828 as resuming the larger down trend. Below 1.0493 will target 1.0339 low first. Break will confirm our bearish view and target parity. However, break of 1.0678 will dampen our view and turn focus back to 1.0828 resistance instead.

In the bigger picture, whole down trend from 1.6039 (2008 high) is in progress. Such down trend is expected to extend to 61.8% projection of 1.3993 to 1.0461 from 1.1298 at 0.9115. On the upside, break of 1.1298 resistance is needed to confirm medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will stay bearish in case of rebound.

In the long term picture, the down trend from 1.6039 (2008 high) is still in progress and there is no clear sign of completion. We’d expect more downside towards 0.8223 (2000 low) as long as 1.1298 resistance holds.

EUR/USD Weekly Outlook

EUR/USD rose to as high as 1.0824 last week. But it lost momentum ahead of 1.0828 resistance and turned sideway. Some consolidations could be seen but outlook is unchanged. Rise from 1.0339 is seen as a corrective move and is still expected to extend higher.

EUR/USD 4 Hours Chart

Initial bias in EUR/USD remains neutral this week first. Break of 1.0828 will target 100% projection of 1.0339 to 1.0828 from 1.0494 at 1.0983. However, as rise from 1.0339 is seen as a corrective move. We’d expect upside to be limited by 1.0983 to complete the correction. On the downside, break of 1.0718 minor support will turn bias to the downside for 1.0494 support first.

EUR/USD Daily Chart

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.1298 key resistance holds, whole down trend from 1.6039 (2008 high) is still expected to continue. Break of 1.0339 low will send EUR/USD through parity to 61.8% projection of 1.3993 to 1.0461 from 1.1298 at 0.9115. However, considering bullish convergence condition in weekly MACD, break of 1.1298 will indicate term reversal. this would also be supported by sustained trading above 55 week EMA.

EUR/USD Weekly Chart

In the long term picture, the down trend from 1.6039 (2008 high) is still in progress and there is no clear sign of completion. We’d expect more downside towards 0.8223 (2000 low) as long as 1.1298 resistance holds. However, firm break of 1.1298 should now confirm long term reversal.

EUR/USD rebounds strongly today but it’s staying below 1.1020 resistance so far. Intraday bias remains neutral first. Break of 1.1020 will resume the corrective rise from 1.0339. In the case, we’d expect upside to be limited by 100% projection of 1.0339 to 1.0828 from 1.0569 at 1.1058 to bring near term reversal. On the downside, break of 1.0838 will argue that the corrective rise from 1.0339 has completed. In such case, intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for 55 day EMA (now at 1.0770).

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.1298 key resistance holds, whole down trend from 1.6039 (2008 high) is still expected to continue. Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1678; (P) 1.1729 (R1) 1.1759; More

EUR/USD reaches as low as 1.1669 so far as fall from 1.2091 extends. Intraday bias remains on the downside for 38.2% retracement of 1.0569 to 1.2091 at 1.1510. Such decline is seen as a correction to whole rise from 1.0569. We’re expecting support from 1.1510 to bring rebound. On the upside, break of 1.1832 minor resistance will suggest that the corrective fall is completed and turn bias back to the upside.

In the bigger picture, rise from medium term bottom at 1.0339 is not finished yet. It’s expected to continue after pull back from 1.2091 completes. And, next target will be 38.2% retracement of 1.6039 (2008 high) to 1.0339 (2017 low) at 1.2516. However, it should be noted that there is no confirmation of trend reversal yet. Intraday bias in EUR/USD remains neutral and outlook is unchanged. Further decline is expected as long as 55 4H EMA (now at 1.0756) holds. Fall from 1.0915 is seen as another leg in the larger corrective pattern. Below 1.0677 will target 1.0601 low first. Firm break there will target channel support at 1.0500 next. Nevertheless, sustained break of 55 4H EMA will turn bias to the upside for stronger rebound instead.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.1274 are viewed as a corrective pattern that’s still in progress. Break of 1.0601 will target 1.0447 support and possibly further to 100% projection of 1.1274 to 1.0447 from 1.1138 at 1.0311. For now, this will remain the favored case as long as 1.0915 resistance holds, in case of rebound.

EUR/USD is still staying in range of 1.1109/1295 and intraday bias remains neutral. Focus stays on 1.1298 key resistance. Decisive break there will carry larger bullish implication and target 1.1615 resistance next. On the downside, break of 1.1109 support will indicate short term topping and rejection from 1.1298. In such case, intraday bias will be turned to the downside for 1.0838 support.

In the bigger picture, the case for medium term reversal continues to build up with EUR/USD staying far above 55 week EMA (now at 1.0932). Also, bullish convergence condition is seen in weekly MACD. Focus will now be on 1.1298 key resistance. Rejection from there will maintain medium term bearishness and would extend the whole down trend from 1.6039 (2008 high). Intraday bias in EUR/USD is neutral for the moment with focus on 1.1712 cluster support (61.8% retracement of 1.1553 to 1.1960 at 1.1708). Decisive break there will indicate that rebound from 1.1553 has completed at 1.1960. In that case, deeper fall would be seen to 1.1553 and possibly below to extend the decline from 1.2091. Meanwhile, with 1.1712 support intact, break of 1.1814 minor resistance will retain near term bullishness. And in that case, intraday bias will be turned back to the upside for 1.1960. Break will target 1.2091 high.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.0339 medium term bottom is seen as a corrective move for the moment. Break of 1.1661 will target 38.2% retracement of 1.0569 to 1.2091 at 1.1510, where we’re expecting support to bring rebound.
