EUR/USD Weekly Outlook

EUR/USD gyrated lower to 1.1669 with weak downside momentum last week. As a temporary was formed, initial bias is neutral this week first. Deeper decline is expected as long as 1.1832 resistance holds. Below 1.1669 will extend the fall from 1.2091 to 38.2% retracement of 1.0569 to 1.2091 at 1.1510. As such decline is viewed as a correction to rise from 1.5069, we’d expect strong support from 1.1510 to bring rebound. Meanwhile, break of 1.1832 resistance will argue that the correction is already completed and turn bias back to the upside for retesting 1.2091 high.

In the bigger picture, rise from medium term bottom at 1.0339 is not finished yet. It’s expected to continue after pull back from 1.2091 completes. And, next target will be 38.2% retracement of 1.6039 (2008 high) to 1.0339 (2017 low) at 1.2516. However, it should be noted that there is no confirmation of trend reversal yet. That is, such rebound from 1.0399 could be a correction. And the long term fall from 1.6039 (2008 high) could resume. Hence, we’d be cautious on strong resistance from 1.2516 to limit upside.

In the long term picture, 1.0339 is now seen as an important bottom as the down trend from 1.6039 (2008 high) could have completed. It’s still early to decide whether price action form 1.0339 is developing into a corrective or impulsive move. But in either case, further rally would be seen to 38.2% retracement of 1.6039 to 1.0339 at 1.2516

With 1.0739 minor resistance intact, intraday bias in EUR/USD remains on the downside for 1.0494 support. We’re holding on to the view that corrective rise from 1.0339 is completed at 1.0905. And, larger down trend is probably resuming. Break of 1.0494 should confirm this bearish case and target 1.0339 low and below. Break of 1.0339 will target parity next. On the upside, above 1.0739 minor resistance will delay the bearish case and turn focus back to 1.0905 resistance instead.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.1298 key resistance holds, whole down trend from 1.6039 (2008 high) is still expected to continue. Break of 1.0339 low will send EUR/USD through parity to 61.8% projection of 1.3993 to 1.0461 from 1.1298 at 0.9115. However, considering bullish convergence condition in weekly MACD, break of 1.1298 will indicate term reversal. this would also be supported by sustained trading above 55 week EMA.

EUR/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.0817; (P) 1.0824; (R1) 1.0838; More….

EUR/USD’s rise from 1.0665 resumed by breaking through 1.0844 temporary top and intraday bias is back on the upside for 1.0915 resistance. Firm break there will resume whole rally from 1.0601 and target 100% projection of 1.0601 to 1.0915 from 1.0665 at 1.0919 next. For now, risk will stay on the upside as long as 1.0805 support holds, in case of retreat.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.1274 are viewed as a corrective pattern that could still be in progress. Break of 1.0601 will target 1.0447 support and possibly below. On the upside, firm break of 1.0915 resistance will start another rising leg back to 1.1138 resistance instead.

EUR/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1919; (P) 1.1961 (R1) 1.1990; More

At this point, EUR/USD is still holding above 1.1822/37, in range below 1.2091. Intraday bias remains neutral for the moment. With 1.1822 support intact, near term outlook remains bullish for further rally. Break of 1.2091 will extend larger rise from 1.0339 and target next key fibonacci level at 1.2516. But considering bearish divergence condition in 4 hour MACD, break of 1.1822 will confirm short term reversal. In the case, intraday bias will be turned back to the downside through 1.1661 support. EUR/USD should then correct whole rise from 1.0569 and target 38.2% retracement of 1.0569 to 1.2091 at 1.1510.

In the bigger picture, rise from medium term bottom at 1.0339 is still in progress for 38.2% retracement of 1.6039 (2008 high) to 1.0339 (2017 low) at 1.2516. However, it should be noted that there is no confirmation of trend reversal yet. That is, such rebound from 1.0399 could be a correction. And the long term fall from 1.6039 (2008 high) could resume. Hence, we’d be cautious on strong resistance from 1.2516 to limit upside. But after all, break of 1.1661 is needed to indicate medium term topping. Otherwise, outlook will remain bullish in case of pull back.

EUR/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2102; (P) 1.2129; (R1) 1.2163; More

Intraday bias in EUR/USD remains neutral and more range trading could be seen. On the downside, firm break of 1.2052 support will resume whole correction from 1.2348. Intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for 61.8% retracement of 1.1602 to 1.2348 at 1.1887. On the upside, though, break of 1.2188 resistance will turn bias back to the upside for retesting 1.2348.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.0635 is seen as the third leg of the pattern from 1.0339 (2017 low). Further rally could be seen to cluster resistance at 1.2555 next, (38.2% retracement of 1.6039 to 1.0339 at 1.2516). This will remain the favored case as long as 1.1602 support holds. We’d be alerted to topping sign around 1.2516/55. But sustained break there will carry long term bullish implications.

EUR/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1350; (P) 1.1366; (R1) 1.1385; More……

Intraday bias in EUR/USD remains neutral at this point. With 1.1317 minor support intact, another rise remains mildly in favor. On the upside, break of 100% projection of 1.1107 to 1.1347 from 1.1181 at 1.1142 will pave the way to 161.8% projection at 1.1569 next. However, firm break of 1.1317 will be an early sign of completion of rise from 1.1107. Intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for 1.1181 support instead.

In the bigger picture, considering bullish convergence condition in daily and weekly MACD, a medium term bottom should be in place at 1.1107 after hitting 61.8% retracement of 1.0339 (2016 low) to 1.2555 (2018 high) at 1.1186. Further rise should be seen to 38.2% retracement of 1.2555 to 1.1107 at 1.1660. Reactions from there could indicate whether rebound from 1.1107 is a corrective rise or reversing medium term trend.

EUR/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1079; (P) 1.1097; (R1) 1.1108; More

Intraday bias in EUR/USD remains neutral as consolidation from might extend. Another recovery cannot be ruled out, but upside should be limited by 1.1249 resistance to bring down trend resumption. Break of 1.1051 will target 1.1026 low and below. However, sustained break of 1.1249 will have 55 day EMA taken out too. Stronger rise should then be seen to 1.1412 key resistance.

In the bigger picture, down trend from 1.2555 (2018 high) is in progress and extending. Prior rejection of 55 week EMA also maintained bearishness. Further fall should be seen to 78.6% retracement of 1.0339 to 1.2555 at 1.0813. Decisive break there will target 1.0339 (2017 low). On the upside, break of 1.1412 resistance is needed to indicate medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will stay bearish in case of rebound.

EUR/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1794; (P) 1.1821 (R1) 1.1866; More….

Intraday bias in EUR/USD remains neutral for the moment despite current recovery. On the upside, above 1.1862 will revive near term bullishness. In such case, intraday bias will be turned back to the upside for 1.1960 resistance first. However, decisive break of 1.1712 cluster support (61.8% retracement of 1.1553 to 1.1960 at 1.1708) should confirm completion of rebound from 1.1553 at 1.1960. And in that case, deeper fall should be seen through 1.1553 to extend the medium term decline from 1.2091.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.0339 medium term bottom is seen as a corrective move for the moment. Therefore, in case of another rally, we’d be expect 38.2% retracement of 1.6039 (2008 high) to 1.0339 (2017 low) at 1.2516 to limit upside and bring reversal. Meanwhile, sustained trading below 55 week EMA (now at 1.1435) will suggest that such medium term rebound is completed and could then bring retest of 1.0339 low.

Intraday bias in EUR/USD remains neutral for the moment. At this point, we’re slightly favoring the case that pull back from 1.2091 has completed at 1.1669, ahead of 1.1661 support. Above 1.1879 will turn bias back to the upside for retesting 1.2091 high. However, break of 1.1787 will dampen this view. Intraday bias will be turned back to the downside through 1.1669 low. Correction from 1.2091 would then extend to 38.2% retracement of 1.0569 to 1.2091 at 1.1510 and completes there.

EUR/USD is still staying in range of 1.1109/1295 and intraday bias remains neutral first. On the upside, decisive break of 1.1298 key resistance will carry larger bullish implication and target 1.1615 resistance next. On the downside, break of 1.1109 support will indicate short term topping and rejection from 1.1298. In such case, intraday bias will be turned to the downside for 1.0838 support.

In the bigger picture, the case for medium term reversal continues to build up with EUR/USD staying far above 55 week EMA (now at 1.0932). Also, bullish convergence condition is seen in weekly MACD. Focus will now be on 1.1298 key resistance. Rejection from there will maintain medium term bearishness and would extend the whole down trend from 1.6039 (2008 high). On the upside, above 1.1239 will extend whole rally from 1.0879 to 100% projection of 1.0879 to 1.1179 from 1.0981 at 1.1281 next. However, on the downside, break of 1.1066 will suggest that whole rise from 1.0879 has completed. In this case, intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for 1.0981 support for confirmation.

In the bigger picture, rebound from 1.0879 is seen as a corrective move at this point. In case of another rise, upside should be limited by 38.2% retracement of 1.2555 to 1.0879 at 1.1519. And, down trend from 1.2555 (2018 high) would resume at a later stage. However, sustained break of 1.1519 will dampen this bearish view and bring stronger rise to 61.8% retracement at 1.1915 next.

Next target is 61.8% projection of 1.3993 to 1.0339 from 1.2348 at 1.0090. In the bigger picture, EUR/USD has been losing downside momentum around 61.8% retracement of 1.0339 (2016 low) to 1.2555 (2018 high) at 1.1186. But for now, there is no clear sign of medium term reversal yet. Down trend from 1.2555 is expected to resume sooner or later as long as 1.1569 structural resistance holds. In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.1274 are viewed as a corrective pattern. Fall from 1.1138 is seen as the third leg and could have completed. Firm break of 1.1138 will argue that larger up trend from 0.9534 (2022 low) is ready to resume through 1.1274 high. On the downside, break of 1.0601 will extend the corrective pattern instead.

In that case, EUR/USD should drop through 1.0339 to 100% projection of 1.1298 to 1.0339 from 1.0905 at 0.9946. On the upside, however, break of 1.0688 resistance will delay the bearish case and turn focus back to 1.0905 resistance instead.

Decisive break of 1.1176 will resume the down trend from 1.2555.

In the bigger picture, medium term weakness was revived as the weak rebound from 1.1176 was rejected well below 55 week EMA and failed to sustain above 55 day EMA.
