Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.0951; (P) 1.0971; (R1) 1.0989; More

EUR/USD’s rebound from 1.0879 extends higher today and further rise could be seen. But still, upside should be limited by 1.1109 resistance to bring larger down trend resumption. On the downside, break of 1.0941 will turn bias back to the downside for retesting 1.0879 low first. However, firm break of 1.1109 will be an early sign of medium term bottoming and target 1.1412 key resistance next.

In the bigger picture, down trend from 1.2555 (2018 high) is in progress. Prior rejection of 55 week EMA also maintained bearishness. Further fall should be seen to 78.6% retracement of 1.0339 to 1.2555 at 1.0813. Decisive break there will target 1.0339 (2017 low). On the upside, break of 1.1412 resistance is needed to confirm medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will stay bearish in case of rebound.

Intraday bias in EUR/USD remains neutral for consolidations below 1.0844 temporary top. Further rally is in favor as long as 55 4H EMA (now at 1.0783) holds. On the upside, above 1.0844 will resume the rebound from 1.0665 to retest 1.0915 resistance. Firm break there will target 100% projection of 1.0601 to 1.0915 from 1.0665 at 1.0919 next. However, sustained break of 55 4H EMA will bring deeper fall back to 1.0665 support.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.1274 are viewed as a corrective pattern that’s still in progress. Break of 1.0601 will target 1.0447 support and possibly below. On the upside, firm break of 1.0915 resistance will start another rising leg back to 1.1138 resistance instead.

EUR/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.0642; (P) 1.0688; (R1) 1.0713; More

Break of 1.0673 minor support argues that EUR/USD recovery from 1.0601 has completed at 1.0752 already. Intraday bias is back on the downside for retesting 1.0601 first. Firm break there will resume larger fall and target 100% projection of 1.1138 to 1.0694 from 1.0980 at 1.0536. For now, risk will stay on the downside as long as 1.0752 resistance holds, in case of recovery.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.1274 are viewed as a corrective pattern to rise from 0.9534 (2022 low). Current fall from 1.1138 is seen as the third leg. While deeper decline is would be seen to 1.0447 and possibly below, strong support should emerge from 61.8% retracement of 0.9534 to 1.1274 at 1.0199 to complete the correction.

EUR/USD Weekly Outlook

EUR/USD rebounded strongly last week and hit as high as 1.0698. The strong break of 1.0630 resistance indicates completion of corrective pull back from 1.0828. More importantly, whole rise from 1.0339 is possibly resuming. But still, such rise is still seen as a correction and the larger down trend should resume after it completes.

EUR/USD 4 Hours Chart

Initial bias in EUR/USD remains on the upside this week for 1.0828. Break there will target 100% projection of 1.0339 to 1.0828 from 1.0494 at 1.0983. But upside should be limited there to completion the corrective rise and bring reversal. Meanwhile, on the downside, break of prior resistance at 1.0630 will turn bias back to the downside for retesting 1.0494 low.

EUR/USD Daily Chart

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.1298 key resistance holds, whole down trend from 1.6039 (2008 high) is still expected to continue. Break of 1.0339 low will send EUR/USD through parity to 61.8% projection of 1.3993 to 1.0461 from 1.1298 at 0.9115.

Deeper fall would then be seen to 1.0832 support next.

In the bigger picture, rise from 0.9534 is still expected to continue as long as 1.1011 resistance turned support holds. Decisive break of 61.8% retracement of 1.2348 (2021 high) to 0.9534 at 1.1273 will solidify the case of bullish trend reversal and target 1.2348 resistance next. However, firm break of 1.1011 will indicate rejection by 1.1273 and raise the chance of reversal.

EUR/USD’s consolidation from 1.1960 is still in progress and intraday bias remains neutral. With 1.1712 support intact, rise from 1.1553 is expected to resume later. Break of 1.1960 will turn bias to the upside for retesting 1.2091 high first. Break there will resume medium term up trend from 1.0339 and target 61.8% projection of 1.0569 to 1.2091 from 1.1553 at 1.2494, which is close to 1.2516 long term fibonacci level. We’d expect strong resistance from there to bring reversal. On the downside, break of 1.1712 will indicate completion of the rise from 1.1553 and turn near term outlook bearish.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.0339 medium term bottom is seen as a corrective move for the moment. Therefore, in case of another rally, we’d be expect 38.2% retracement of 1.6039 (2008 high) to 1.0339 (2017 low) at 1.2516 to limit upside and bring reversal. On the downside, below 1.1175 minor support will turn bias to the downside for 1.1111 first. Break there will resume larger down trend from 1.2555. However, firm break of 1.1324 resistance will be an early indication of larger bullish reversal and turn focus to 1.1448 resistance.

In the bigger picture, down trend from 1.2555 (2018 high) has just resumed. Current fall should now target 78.6% retracement of 1.0339 (2016 low) to 1.2555 (2018 high) at 1.0813. Sustained break there will pave the way to retest 1.0339. On the downside, break of 1.1448 resistance is needed to be the first sign of medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will stay bearish in case of rebound.

EUR/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1260; (P) 1.1292; (R1) 1.1331; More…..

Intraday bias in EUR/USD remains mildly on the upside. Current rebound from 1.1183 could extend to 1.1448 resistance and above. But in that case, we’d expect strong resistance between 1.1448/1569 to limit upside. On the downside, below 1.1250 minor support will turn bias to the downside. Decisive break of 1.1176 will resume the down trend from 1.2555.

In the bigger picture, EUR/USD has been losing downside momentum around 61.8% retracement of 1.0339 (2016 low) to 1.2555 (2018 high) at 1.1186. But for now, there is no clear sign of medium term reversal yet. Downside from 1.2555 is expected to resume sooner or later as long as 1.1569 structural resistance holds. Decisive break of 1.1186. could pave the way back to 1.0339 low.

EUR/USD Weekly Outlook

EUR/USD’s rally extended to as high as 1.1211 last week after some intra-week consolidation. Initial bias remains on the upside this week for 138.2% projection of 1.0339 to 1.0828 from 1.0569 at 1.1245, which is close to 1.1298 key resistance. We’ll stay cautious on strong resistance from 1.1245/98 to limit upside and bring reversal. Break of 1.1075 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for 1.0838 support. However, sustained break of 1.1298 will carry larger bullish implications.

In the bigger picture, the case for medium term reversal continues to build up with EUR/USD now far above 55 week EMA. Also, bullish convergence condition is seen in weekly MACD. Focus will now be on 1.1298 key resistance. Rejection from there will maintain medium term bearishness and would extend the whole down trend from 1.6039 (2008 high). However, firm break of 1.1298 will indicate reversal. In such case, further rally would be seen back to 1.2042 support turned resistance next.

In the long term picture, the case for completion of down trend from 1.6039 (2008 high), and long term bottoming at 1.0339, is starting to build up. Decisive break of 1.1298 will bring rise back to 1.2042 as first resistance. And in that case, we should at least see rally back to 38.2% retracement of 1.6039 to 1.0339 at 1.2516.
