EUR/USD Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.0929; (P) 1.0958; (R1) 1.0980; More

No change in EUR/USD’s outlook as it’s staying in very tight range. Intraday bias stays neutral at this point. Further fall is in favor as long as 1.0997 minor resistance intact. Break of 1.0876 will resume the fall from 1.1138 to 1.0722 support next. Nevertheless, firm break of 1.0997 will turn bias back to the upside for retesting 1.1138 high instead.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.1274 are viewed as a corrective pattern to rise from 0.9534 (2022 low). Rise from 1.0447 is seen as the second leg. While further rally could cannot be ruled out, upside should be limited by 1.1274 to bring the third leg of the pattern. Meanwhile, sustained break of 1.0722 support will argue that the third leg has already started for 1.0447 and below.

EUR/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2160; (P) 1.2185; (R1) 1.2233; More

Intraday bias in EUR/USD is turned neutral with currency recovery. Another fall could still be seen with 1.2244 minor resistance intact, as consolidation from 1.2348 extends. But downside should be contained by 1.2058 cluster support (38.2% retracement of 1.1602 to 1.2348 at 1.2063) to bring rebound. Meanwhile, on the upside, break of 1.2244 minor resistance will bring retest of 1.2348.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.0635 is seen as the third leg of the pattern from 1.0339 (2017 low). Further rally could be seen to cluster resistance at 1.2555 next, (38.2% retracement of 1.6039 to 1.0339 at 1.2516). This will remain the favored case as long as 1.1602 support holds. We’d be alerted to topping sign around 1.2516/55. But sustained break there will carry long term bullish implications.

EUR/USD Weekly Outlook

EUR/USD ‘s up trend resumed last week by breaking 1.1908 resistance and reached as high as 1.1941. Initial bias is back on the upside this week. Current rally should target 61.8% projection of 1.1118 to 1.1908 from 1.1661 at 1.2149 first. Break there will target 100% projection at 1.2451 next. On the downside, below 1.1822 minor support will turn intraday bias neutral first. But retreat should be contained above 1.1661 support and bring rise resumption.

In the bigger picture, an important bottom was formed at 1.0339 on bullish convergence condition in weekly MACD. Sustained trading above 55 month EMA (now at 1.1768) will pave the way to key fibonacci level at 38.2% retracement of 1.6039 (2008 high) to 1.0339 (2017 low) at 1.2516. While rise from 1.0339 is strong, there is no confirmation that it’s developing into a long term up trend yet. Hence, we’ll be cautious on strong resistance from 1.2516 to limit upside. For now, medium term outlook will remain bullish as long as 1.1295 support holds, in case of pull back.

In the long term picture, 1.0339 is now seen as an important bottom as the down trend from 1.6039 (2008 high) could have completed. It’s still early to decide whether price action form 1.0339 is developing into a corrective or impulsive move. But in either case, further rally would be seen to 38.2% retracement of 1.6039 to 1.0339 at 1.2516

EUR/USD’s break of 1.1639 resistance should confirm short term bottoming at 1.1523. Intraday bias is back on the upside for 55 day EMA (now at 1.1712) first. Sustained break there will be a sign that larger correction from 1.2348 has completed. Stronger rally would be seen to 1.1908 resistance for confirmation. On the downside, though, break of 1.1571 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for 1.1523 support instead.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.2348 should at least be a correction to rise from 1.0635 (2020 low). As long as 1.1908 resistance holds, deeper fall would be seen to 61.8% retracement of 1.0635 to 1.2348 at 1.1289. Nevertheless break of 1.1908 resistance will revive medium term bullishness and turn focus back to 1.2348 high.

EUR/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.0533; (P) 1.0554; (R1) 1.0587; More

No change in EUR/USD’s outlook as consolidation from 1.0447 is extending. Intraday bias remains neutral for the moment. On the upside, firm break of 1.0616 resistance will confirm short term bottoming, and turn bias back to the upside for stronger rebound. Nevertheless, rejection by 1.0616 will retain near term bearishness. Break of 1.0447 will resume the fall from 1.1274 to 1.0199 fibonacci level next.

In the bigger picture, fall from 1.1274 medium term top could still be a correction to rise from 0.9534 (2022 low). But chance of a complete trend reversal is rising. In either case, current fall should target 61.8% retracement of 0.9534 to 1.1274 at 1.0199 next. For now, risk will stay on the downside as long as 55 D EMA (now at 1.0725) holds, in case of rebound.

EUR/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.2208; (P) 1.2246 (R1) 1.2297; More….

EUR/USD edged higher to 1.2322 but quickly retreated. Intraday bias remains neutral first. Near term outlook will remain bullish as long as 1.2088 resistance turned support holds. Current medium term rally could target 1.2494/2516 key resistance zone next. At this point, we’d expect strong resistance from there to limit upside and bring reversal. On the downside, break of 1.2088 will argue that EUR/USD has topped earlier than expected. In that case, intraday bias will be turned to the downside for 1.1915 support first.

In the bigger picture, rise from 1.0339 medium term bottom is still seen as a corrective move for the moment. Therefore, in case of another rally, we’d be expect 38.2% retracement of 1.6039 (2008 high) to 1.0339 (2017 low) at 1.2516 to limit upside and bring reversal. That is also close to 61.8% projection of 1.0569 to 1.2091 from 1.1553 at 1.2494. Break of 1.1553 support will confirm completion of the rise. However, sustained break of 1.2516 will carry larger bullish implication and target 38.2% retracement of 1.6039 to 1.0339 at 1.3862.

Break of 0.9634 minor support will suggest that larger down trend is ready to resume. Intraday bias will be back on the downside for 0.9534 and below. However, sustained break of 0.9863 will confirm short term bottoming, and bring stronger rally back to 1.0197 resistance instead.

In the bigger picture, down trend from 1.6039 (2008 high) is still in progress. Next target is 100% projection of 1.3993 to 1.0339 from 1.2348 at 0.8694. In any case, break of 1.0197 resistance is needed to be the first sign of medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will stay bearish even with strong rebound.

In the bigger picture, down trend from 1.2555 (2018 high) is in progress. Prior rejection of 55 week EMA also maintained bearishness. Further fall should be seen to 78.6% retracement of 1.0339 to 1.2555 at 1.0813. Decisive break there will target 1.0339 (2017 low). On the upside, break of 1.1412 resistance is needed to indicate medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will stay bearish in case of rebound.

EUR/USD is still holding above 1.0908 support and intraday bias stays neutral. On the upside, firm break of 1.1094 will resume larger up trend to 1.1273 fibonacci level. Break there will target 61.8% projection of 0.9534 to 1.1032 from 1.0515 at 1.1441 However, considering bearish divergence condition in 4H MACD, break of 1.0908 support will indicate short term topping and turn bias back to the downside. Further break of 1.0830 will target 1.0515 key support level.

In the bigger picture, rise from 0.9534 (2022 low) is in progress for 61.8% retracement of 1.2348 (2021 high) to 0.9534 at 1.1273. Next target is 61.8% projection of 1.3993 to 1.0339 from 1.2348 at 1.0090. While EUR/USD continues today lose downside momentum, further decline is still expected as long as 1.1064 resistance holds. Break of 1.0832 will extend the fall from 1.1274 to 1.0609/34 cluster support. However, break of 1.1064 will argue that the fall has completed and turn bias back to the upside for stronger rebound.

In the bigger picture, a medium term top could be formed at 1.1274, after failing to break through 61.8% retracement of 1.2348 (2021 high) to 0.9534 at 1.1273 decisively, on bearish divergence condition in D MACD. Sustained trading below 55 D EMA (now at 1.0966) will bring deeper correction to 1.0634 cluster support (38.2% retracement of 0.9534 to 1.1274 at 1.0609). Strong support could be seen there, at least on first attempt, to set the range for consolidation.

Firm break there should prompt downside acceleration to 100% projection at 0.9546. In the bigger picture, down trend from 1.6039 (2008 high) is still in progress. Next target is 100% projection of 1.3993 to 1.0339 from 1.2348 at 0.8694. In any case, outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.0368 resistance holds, in case of strong rebound.
