EUR/JPY Weekly Outlook

EUR/JPY’s fall from 137.49 resumed last week and dived to as low as 127.14. There is no clear sign of bottoming yet. Initial bias remains on the downside this week for 126.61 medium term fibonacci level. But based on current momentum, EUR/JPY could dive through this level to 100% projection of 137.49 to 128.94 from 133.47 at 124.92. On the upside, above 128.52 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral first. But near term outlook will remain bearish as long as 131.34 resistance holds, even in case of recovery.

In the bigger picture, bearish divergence in daily MACD and current strong downside momentum is raising the chance of medium term trend reversal. Sustained break of 38.2% retracement of 109.03 to 137.49 at 126.61 will argue that whole up trend from 109.03 has completed at 137.49 already. And, deeper decline would be seen to 61.8% retracement at 119.90 and below. Though, strong support from 126.61 and rebound from there would revive medium term bullish for another high above 137.49.

In the long term picture, at this point, EUR/JPY is staying in long term sideway pattern, established since 2000. Rise from 109.03 is seen as a leg inside the pattern. As long as 124.08 support holds, further rally is in favor in medium to long term through 149.76 high. However, break of 124.08 could extend the fall through 109.03 low instead.

Intraday bias in EUR/JPY stays on the downside for retesting 137.37 support first. Break there will resume whole decline from 148.38 to 135.40 fibonacci level next. On the upside, above 139.54 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral first. But outlook will stay bearish as long as 142.84 resistance holds.

In the bigger picture, as long as 55 week EMA (now at 138.64) holds, larger up trend from 114.42 (2020 low) is still in progress for 149.76 long term resistance. However, firm break of 55 week EMA will bring deeper fall to 38.2% retracement of 114.42 to 148.38 at 135.40. Sustained break there will raise the chance of trend reversal, and target 61.8% retracement at 127.39.

EUR/JPY is staying in consolidation from 137.50 and intraday bias stays neutral for the moment. With 133.70 minor support intact, further rally is expected. On the upside, sustained break of 137.49 resistance will resume larger up trend for 144.06 projection level next. However, firm break of 133.70 will indicate short term topping, and turn bias back to the downside for deeper pull back.

In the bigger picture, up trend from 114.42 (2020 low) is in progress. Sustained break of 137.49 (2018 high) will resume larger pattern from 109.30 (2016 low). Next target will be 100% projection of 114.42 to 134.11 from 124.37 at 144.06. In any case, outlook will now remain bullish as long as 124.37 support holds, in case of deep pull back.

EUR/JPY Weekly Outlook

EUR/JPY’s decline from 148.38 resumed last week and hit as low as 140.75. Initial bias stays on the downside this week for 100% projection of 148.38 to 142.54 from 146.12 at 140.28. Firm break there could prompt downside acceleration to 161.8% projection at 136.67 next. On the upside, above 143.12 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral first. But further decline will remain in favor as long as 146.12 resistance holds.

In the bigger picture, considering bearish divergence condition in weekly MACD, 148.38 could be a medium term top already. Fall from there is probably correcting whole up trend from 114.42 (2020 low). Deeper decline would be seen to 55 week EMA (now at 137.37), or further to 38.2% retracement of 114.42 to 148.38 at 135.40 before completion.

In the long term picture, outlook will stay bullish as long as 134.11 resistance turned support holds (2021 high). Sustained break of 149.76 (2014 high) will open up further rally, as resumption of the rise from 94.11 (2012 low), towards 169.96 (2008 high).

In the bigger picture, up trend from 114.42 (2020 low) is in progress. Such rise is seen as the third leg of the pattern from 109.30 (2016 low). Next target will be 100% projection of 114.42 to 134.11 from 124.37 at 144.06. Firm break there will indicate upside acceleration and target 149.76 long term resistance (2014 high). In any case, outlook will now remain bullish as long as 132.63 support holds, in case of deep pull back.

Daily Pivots: (S1) 125.03; (P) 125.21; (R1) 125.46; More….

EUR/JPY’s rebound from 123.65 is still in progress and intraday bias remains on the upside for 126.78/127.50 resistance zone first. On the downside, however, break of 123.56 will resume the fall from 127.50 to 61.8% retracement of 118.62 to 127.50 at 122.01.

In the bigger picture, rebound from 118.62 might have completed earlier than expected at 127.50. EUR/JPY is held well inside medium term falling channel, and below 55 week EMA (now at 127.61). That is, the down trend from 137.49 (2018 high) might still be in progress. Break of 118.62 will target 109.03/114.84 long term support zone. On the upside, however, break of 127.50 will extend the rebound from 118.62 to 133.12 key resistance instead.

EUR/JPY Weekly Outlook

EUR/JPY rebounded to as high as 129.25 last week but reversed from there. After all, it’s staying in range of 127.49/129.29. Initial bias remains neutral this week first and near term outlook stays cautiously bearish. On the downside, break of 127.49 will target 126.63 support first. Break there will then resume the whole decline from 133.12 to 124.08/89 support zone. And, even in case of another strong recovery, outlook will stay bearish as long as 130.14 resistance holds.

In the bigger picture, as long as 124.08 key resistance turn supported holds, larger up trend from 109.03 (2016 low) could still resume. Firm break of 137.49 structural resistance will target 141.04/149.76 resistance zone next. However, decisive break of 124.08 will argue that such rise from 109.03 has completed and turn outlook bearish. In that case, deeper fall would be seen to 61.8% retracement of 109.03 to 137.49 at 119.90.

In the bigger picture, up trend from 114.42 (2020 low) is seen as the third leg of the pattern from 109.30 (2016 low). Further rally is in favor as long as 134.11 resistance turned support holds, even in case of deep pull back. Firm break of 139.78 will target 149.76 (2015 high. However, sustained break of 134.11 will be a sign of medium term bearish reversal and turn focus to 124.37 support for confirmation.

Intraday bias in EUR/JPY is turned neutral with current retreat but outlook is unchanged. Decisive break of 157.99/158.03 will resume larger up trend to 162.82 projection level next. However, break of 155.10 will extend the corrective pattern from 157.99 with another falling leg instead.

In the bigger picture, as long as 151.60 resistance turned support holds, rise from 114.42 (2020 low) is in progress. On resumption, next target is 100% projection of 124.37 to 148.38 from 138.81 at 162.82. Nevertheless, sustained break of 151.60 will argue that larger correction is already underway. Deeper decline would be seen to 55 W EMA (now at 145.56).

EUR/JPY Weekly Outlook

EUR/JPY gyrated lower last week and the breach of 130.86 resistance turned support argues that rise from 124.89 might be over. Initial bias is mildly on the downside this week for 55 day EMA (now at 130.17). Break will bring deeper fall to 127.85 support and below. On the upside, break of 131.95 minor resistance will turn bias back to the upside for 133.12 resistance instead.

In the bigger picture, current development suggests that EUR/JPY could have defended key support level of 124.08 key resistance turned support. And, the larger up trend from 109.03 (2016 low) is still in progress. Firm break of 137.49 structural resistance will target 141.04/149.76 resistance zone next. This will now be the preferred case as long as 127.85 near term support holds.

Intraday bias in EUR/JPY remains neutral for the moment. On the downside, break of 168.01 support will strengthen the case that rise from 164.31 has completed at 170.78 already. In the bigger picture, a medium top was formed at 171.58 after brief breach of 169.96 (2008 high). But as long as 55 W EMA (now at 159.51) holds, price actions from there is seen as correcting the rise from 153.15 only. That is, larger up trend remains in favor to continue. However, sustained break of 55 W EMA will argue that larger scale correction is underway and target 153.15 support.

In the bigger picture, rise from 114.42 is seen as a medium term rising leg inside a long term sideway pattern. Further rise is expected as long as 121.63 support holds. Decisive break of 127.07 will target 61.8% retracement of 137.49 (2018 high) to 114.42 at 128.67. Sustained trading above there will target 137.49 next. However, firm break of 121.63 will argue that the rise from 114.42 has completed and turn focus back to this low.

EUR/JPY Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 128.43; (P) 128.94; (R1) 129.33; More….

Intraday bias in EUR/JPY remains neutral at this point. Overall, we’re holding on to the view that corrective rebound from 124.61 could have completed with three waves up to 131.97 already. Break of 128.49 will extend the fall from 131.97 to 127.13 support for confirming this. Meanwhile, near term risk will stay on the downside as long as 131.13 resistance holds, even in case of stronger than expected rebound.

In the bigger picture, for now, EUR/JPY is still holding above 124.08 key support turned resistance. And the larger rise from 109.03 (2016 low) mildly in favor to resume. Break of 133.47 should send the cross through 137.49 high. However, decisive break of 124.08 will confirm medium term reversal and could then pave the way back to 109.03 low and below.

EUR/JPY Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 122.11; (P) 122.60; (R1) 123.05; More….

Intraday bias in EUR/JPY remains neutral and more consolidation could be seen. In case of another recovery, upside should be limited by 124.09 support turned resistance to bring fall resumption. On the downside, break of 122.08 will target a test on 118.62 low. Nevertheless, firm break of 124.09 will at least bring stronger rebound back to 125.23 resistance and above.

In the bigger picture, current development argues that rebound from 118.62 is merely a correction and has completed at 127.50. EUR/JPY is staying in long term falling channel from 137.49 (2018 high). Decisive break of 118.62 will confirm resumption of this medium term fall and target 109.20 low. For now, this will be the favored case as long as 125.23 resistance holds.

EUR/JPY Daily Outlook

Intraday bias in EUR/JPY remains mildly on the downside for retesting 115.86/33 key support zone. Decisive break there will confirm larger down trend resumption. On the upside, break of 119.03 will extend recent consolidation from 115.86 with another rise leg.

In the bigger picture, outlook remains bearish as the cross is staying well inside falling channel established since 137.49 (2018 high), as well as falling 55 week EMA. As long as 122.87 resistance holds, the down trend form 137.49 should extend to 109.48 (2016 low). However, sustained break of 122.87 will indicate medium term bullish reversal.

EUR/JPY Daily Outlook

At this point, we’re still viewing price action form 121.46 as consolidation. While further pull back cannot be ruled out, downside should be contained by 119.11 support. On the upside break of 121.46 will resume the rise from 115.86 to 123.35 resistance next. However, firm break of 119.11 will argue that rise from 115.86 has completed. Intraday bias will be turned to the downside for 117.07 support.

In the bigger picture, current development argues that a medium term bottom is formed at 115.86, on bullish convergence condition in daily MACD, ahead of 114.84 support. Decisive of 120.78 support turned resistance will affirm this case and bring further rise to falling channel resistance (now at 125.38). Reactions from there would decide whether the medium term trend has reversed. For now, further rise is expected as long as 117.07 support holds.
