EUR/JPY Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 129.75; (P) 129.96; (R1) 130.33; More….

Intraday bias in EUR/JPY remains neutral at this point and more consolidations could be seen. Near term outlook stays bearish as long as 131.07 resistance holds. On the downside, break of 128.58 will resume the fall from 134.11, and target 127.07 resistance turned support next.

In the bigger picture, rise from 114.42 is seen as a medium term rising leg inside a long term sideway pattern. As long as 127.07 resistance turned support holds, further rise is still expected to retest 137.49 (2018 high). However, firm break of 127.07 will argue that the medium term trend has reversed, and open up the case for retesting 114.42.

EUR/JPY’s fall from 175.41 resumed after brief consolidations and dives to as low as 167.42 so far. Intraday bias is back on the downside for 38.2% retracement of 153.15 to 175.41 at 166.90. Some support could be seen there to bring rebound, on first attempt. But break of 169.98 support turned resistance is needed to signal short term bottoming. Firm break of 166.90 will pave the way to medium term channel support (now at 165.46).

In the bigger picture, medium term outlook will stay bullish as long as 164.29 resistance turned support holds. Long term up trend is still in favor to continue through 175.41 at a later stage. However, firm break of 164.29 will be a strong sign of bearish trend reversal.

EUR/JPY Weekly Outlook

EUR/JPY’s up trend continued last week but turned sideway after hitting 157.99. Initial bias is neutral this week for consolidations. But further rally is expected as long as 154.03 support holds. On the upside, break of 157.99 will resume larger up trend to 162.82 projection level. However, break of 154.03 will argue that larger correction is under way back to 151.60 resistance turned support.

In the bigger picture, rise from 114.42 (2020 low) is in progress. Next target is 100% projection of 124.37 to 148.38 from 138.81 at 162.82. For now, medium term outlook will remain bullish as long as 151.60 resistance turned support holds, even in case of deep pull back.

In the long term picture, rise from 109.03 (2016 low) is seen as the third leg of the whole up trend from 94.11 (2012 low). Next target is 100% projection of 94.11 to 149.76 from 109.03 at 164.68, and possibly further to 169.96 (2008 high).

Intraday bias in EUR/JPY remains on the downside at this point. Deeper fall would be seen for 127.91 key support. On the upside, however, break of 131.40 minor resistance will turn bias back to the upside for stronger rebound, probably back to retest 133.44 high.

In the bigger picture, rise from 114.42 (2020 low) is still in progress and the strong support support from 55 week EMA affirms medium term bullishness. Further rise would be seen to retest 137.49 (2018 high). Decisive break there will resume the whole long term rise from 109.03 (2016 low). Next target will be 100% projection of 109.03 to 137.49 from 114.42 at 142.88. This will now remain the favored case as long as 127.91 support holds.

Intraday bias in EUR/JPY is now on the downside as fall from 164.92 extends. Deeper decline would be seen, but downside should be contained well above 159.75 resistance turned support to bring another rally. On the upside, above 162.42 minor resistance will bring retest of 164.29. Firm break there will resume larger up trend.

In the bigger picture, rise from 114.42 (2020 low) is in progress. Next target is 169.96 (2008 high). On the downside, break of 159.75 resistance turned support is needed to be the first sign of medium term topping. Otherwise, outlook will remain bullish even in case of deep pullback.

EUR/JPY Daily Outlook

Intraday bias in EUR/JPY remains on the downside at this point. Fall from 134.11 is seen as correcting the rise from 121.63. Deeper fall would be seen to 38.2% retracement of 121.63 to 134.11 at 129.34. We’d expect strong support from there to bring rebound. On the upside, above 131.41 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral first.

In the bigger picture, rise from 114.42 is seen as a medium term rising leg inside a long term sideway pattern. Next target is 137.49 (2018 high). Decisive break there will open up the possibility that it’s indeed resuming the up trend from 94.11 (2012 low). For now, outlook will stay bullish as long as 127.07 resistance turned support holds, in case of pull back.

EUR/JPY Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 117.93; (P) 118.13; (R1) 118.37; More….

No change in EUR/JPY’s outlook as consolidation from 117.51 is extending. Intraday bias remains neutral first. With 119.87 resistance intact, near term outlook remains bearish. On the downside, break of 117.51 will resume the large down trend to 114.84 support next. However, break of 119.87 resistance will indicate short term bottoming. Stronger rebound should be seen to 55 day EMA (now at 120.49).

In the bigger picture, down trend from 137.49 is still in progress. It’s seen as a falling leg of multi-year sideway pattern. Deeper fall could be seen to 109.48 (2016 low and below). On the upside, break of 127.50 resistance is needed to confirm medium term reversal. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish in case of strong rebound.

EUR/JPY Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 119.19; (P) 119.74; (R1) 120.17; More…

EUR/JPY drops to as low as 119.32 so far and intraday bias stays on the downside for 118.39/45 key cluster level (38.2% retracement of 109.20 to 124.08 at 118.39). Current fall is seen as part of the consolidation pattern from 124.08. We’d expect strong support from 118.39/45 to contain downside and bring rebound. On the upside, above 120.81 minor resistance will turn bias back to the upside for 122.88 and then 124.08.

In the bigger picture, we’re holding on to the view that medium term rise from 109.20 is still in progress. Focus is on 126.09 key resistance level. Sustained break will confirm completion of the whole decline from 149.76. And rise from 109.20 is of the same degree as the fall from 149.76. In such case, further rally would be seen to 104.04 resistance and possibly above before topping. Meanwhile, rejection from 126.09, or firm break of 118.45 cluster support, will likely extend the fall from 149.76 through 109.20 low.

EUR/JPY recovered after drawing support from 4 hour 55 EMA and intraday bias is turned neutral. At this point, we’re holding on to the view that rebound from 128.94 has completed at 133.08 already. Below 132.03 will target a test on 128.94 low. On the upside, above 133.08 will extend such rebound. But even in that case, upside will likely be limited by 61.8% retracement of 137.49 to 128.94 at 134.22.

In the bigger picture, price action from 137.49 medium term top are developing into a corrective pattern. EUR/JPY’s rebound is still in progress and intraday bias stays mildly on the upside for 127.50 resistance. With 124.23 cluster support (38.2% retracement of 118.62 to 127.50 at 124.10) intact, rise from 118.61 is in favor to extend. On the upside, break of 127.50 will target 129.50 resistance next. On the downside, however, decisive break of 124.10/23 should confirm completion of whole rebound from 118.61. Deeper fall should at least be seen to 61.8% retracement at 122.01 and below. In this case, the chance of resuming larger down trend will also increase.

In the bigger picture, current development argues that medium term decline from 137.49 (2018 high) has completed with three waves down to 118.62 already. Decisive break of 133.12 resistance will confirm this bullish case. And whole up trend from 109.03 (2016 low) might resume through 137.49 in that case. On the downside, break of 124.23 support will invalidate this case. And in such case, the down trend from 137.49 could possibly resume through 118.62.
