EUR/JPY Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 122.78; (P) 123.25; (R1) 124.10; More…

EUR/JPY drew support from 55 day EMA and recovered. Intraday bias is turned back to the upside for retesting 125.80/126.09 resistance zone. Break of 126.09 will extend the whole rebound from 109.03 to 100% projection of 109.03 to 124.08 from 114.84 at 129.89. In case of another fall, we’d still expect strong support from 38.2% retracement of 114.84 to 125.80 at 121.61 to bring rebound and then rise resumption.

In the bigger picture, focus is staying on 126.09 support turned resistance. Decisive break there will confirm completion of the down trend from 149.76. And in such case, rise from 109.20 is at the same degree and should target 141.04 resistance and above. Meanwhile, rejection from 126.09 and break of 114.84 will extend the fall from 149.76 through 109.20 low.

EUR/JPY Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 167.83; (P) 168.37; (R1) 169.41; More

Intraday bias in EUR/JPY remains neutral at this point. On the upside, break of 169.38 will resume the rebound from 162.26. As the second leg of the corrective pattern from 171.58, this rise should target 171.58 next. On the downside, break of 166.73 support will argue that corrective pattern from 171.58 has started the third leg. Deeper fall would then be seen back to 164.01 support and below.

In the bigger picture, a medium top could be formed at 171.58 after brief breach of 169.96 (2008 high). As long as 55 W EMA (now at 157.89) holds, fall from there is seen as correcting the rise from 153.15 only. However, sustained break of 55 W EMA will argue that larger scale correction is underway and target 153.15 support.

Further rise is mildly on the upside in EUR/JPY for retesting 151.60 high. Decisive break there will resume larger up trend. On the downside, however, break of 146.12 will resume the fall to 61.8% retracement of 139.05 to 151.60 at 143.84.

In the bigger picture, rise from 114.42 (2020 low) is in progress. Next target is 61.8% projection of 124.37 to 148.38 from 138.81 at 153.64. Sustained break there will pave the way to 100% projection at 162.82. For now, medium term outlook will remain bullish as long as 139.05 support holds, even in case of deep pull back.

EUR/JPY Weekly Outlook

EUR/JPY rose further last week but failed to break through 144.23 resistance. Subsequent retest was supported support by 4 hour 55 EMA. Initial bias is neutral this week first. On the upside, decisive break of 144.23 will resume larger up trend. On the downside, below 141.39 minor support will bring deeper fall, to extend the corrective pattern from 144.23.

In the bigger picture, up trend from 114.42 (2020 low) is in progress. Such rise is seen as the third leg of the pattern from 109.30 (2016 low). Sustained trading above 100% projection of 114.42 to 134.11 from 124.37 at 144.06 will indicate upside acceleration and target 149.76 long term resistance (2014 high). In any case, outlook will now remain bullish as long as 132.63 support holds, in case of deep pull back.

In the long term picture, current rally could be resuming whole rise from 94.11 (2012 low). Further rally would be seen to 149.76 resistance (2014 high) and above. This will remain the favored case as long as 132.63 support holds.

On the downside, below 142.62 minor support will turn intraday bias neutral and bring consolidations, before staging another rally.

In the bigger picture, up trend from 114.42 (2020 low) is seen as the third leg of the pattern from 109.30 (2016 low). Next target is 149.76 (2015 high). For now, outlook will remain bullish as long as 133.38 support holds, even in case of deep pull back.

EUR/JPY’s recovery from 119.31 resumed by taking out 121.48 temporary top. Intraday bias is mildly on the upside for 122.11 resistance. As long as 122.11 resistance holds, fall from 124.43 is expected to resume sooner or later. Break of 120.58 minor support will turn bias to the downside for 119.31 support. Break will target 61.8% retracement of 114.42 to 124.43 at 118.24. On the upside, however, break of 122.11 will argue that fall from 124.43 has completed. Stronger rise would be seen to retest 124.43.

In the bigger picture, whole down trend from 137.49 (2018 high) could have completed at 114.42 already. Rise from 114.42 would target 61.8% retracement of 137.49 to 114.42 at 128.67 next. Sustained break there will pave the way to 137.59 (2018 high). This will remain the preferred case for now, as long as 55 day EMA (now at 119.60) holds. However, sustained break of 55 day EMA will revive medium term bearishness for another low below 114.42 at a later stage.

In the bigger picture, rise from 114.42 is seen as a medium term rising leg inside a long term sideway pattern. Further rise is expected as long as 125.07 support holds. Next target is 137.49 (2018 high).

On the upside, break of 132.55 will bring retest of 133.44. Break there will resume larger up trend from 114.42. However, firm break of 130.45 will dampen our bullish view and bring deeper fall back to 127.91 key support.

In the bigger picture, rise from 114.42 (2020 low) is still in progress and the strong support from 55 week EMA affirms medium term bullishness. However, break of 157.19 support will argue that the rebound has completed, and turn bias back to the downside.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 164.29 medium term top are tentatively seen as a correction to rise from 139.05 for now. As long as 148.48 resistance turned support holds (2022 high), larger up trend from 114.42 (2020 low) could still resume through 164.29 at a later stage.

Intraday bias in EUR/JPY remains neutral for the moment. Below 119.31 will extend fall from 122.88 to 118.23 low. But we’d expect strong support from 118.45 key cluster support level (38.2% retracement of 109.20 to 124.08 at 118.39) to contain downside and bring rebound. On the upside, above 120.81 minor resistance will turn bias back to the upside for 124.08 high. Overall, price actions from 124.08 are developing into a consolidative pattern and upside breakout is expected later.

In the bigger picture, we’re holding on to the view that medium term rise from 109.20 is still in progress. Focus is on 126.09 key resistance level. Sustained break will confirm completion of the whole decline from 149.76. And rise from 109.20 is of the same degree as the fall from 149.76. In such case, further rally would be seen to 104.04 resistance and possibly above before topping. Meanwhile, rejection from 126.09, or firm break of 118.45 cluster support, will likely extend the fall from 149.76 through 109.20 low.

EUR/JPY Daily Chart

EUR/JPY Weekly Outlook

EUR/JPY’s fall from 133.44 extended lower to 130.22 last week. The break of 130.45 resistance turned support dampened our original bullish view, and suggest that rise from 127.91 has completed. Initial bias is back on the downside this week for 127.91 key support. On the upside, however, break of 131.40 minor resistance will turn bias back to the upside for stronger rebound.

In the bigger picture, rise from 114.42 (2020 low) is still in progress and the strong support support from 55 week EMA affirms medium term bullishness. Further rise would be seen to retest 137.49 (2018 high). Decisive break there will resume the whole long term rise from 109.03 (2016 low). Next target will be 100% projection of 109.03 to 137.49 from 114.42 at 142.88. This will now remain the favored case as long as 127.91 support holds.

In the long term picture, EUR/JPY is staying in long term sideway pattern, established since 2000. Another rising leg in progress for 137.49 resistance and above.

EUR/JPY Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 129.70; (P) 130.07; (R1) 130.57; More….

EUR/JPY’s decline continues today and reaches as low as 129.34 so far. Intraday bias remains on the downside. Current fall from 137.49 is starting 126.61 medium term fibonacci level next. We’ll tentatively look for bottoming signal there. On the upside, above 130.51 minor resistance will indicate temporary bottoming and bring consolidations, before staging another decline.

In the bigger picture, current development argues that rise from 109.03 has completed at 137.49, on bearish divergence condition in weekly MACD. Deeper fall should be seen to 38.2% retracement of 109.03 to 137.49 at 126.61 first. On the upside, break of 137.49 is needed to confirm medium term rise resumption. Otherwise, risk will now stay on the downside even in case of strong rebound.
