EUR/JPY Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 127.97; (P) 128.18; (R1) 128.55; More….

Intraday bias in EUR/JPY remains neutral at this point, as consolidation from 127.36 is extending. On the downside, break of 127.36 will resume larger pattern from 134.11 to 126.58 medium term fibonacci level. We’d look for some support from there to bring rebound. But sustained break of 126.58 will carry larger bearish implications. On the upside, break of 129.09 will bring stronger rebound to 55 day EMA (now at 129.66) and above.

EUR/JPY 4 Hours Chart

In the bigger picture, as long as 38.2% retracement of 114.42 (2020 low) to 134.11 at 126.58 holds, up trend from 114.42 is still in favor to continue. Break of 134.11 will target long term resistance at 137.49 (2018 high). However, sustained break of 126.58 will raise the chance of medium term bearish reversal. In this case, deeper decline would be seen to 61.8% retracement at 121.94, and possibly below.

EUR/JPY’s fall from 145.62 extended lower today. Break of 138.38 support raises the chance of larger reversal. Intraday bias stays on the downside for 133.38 support next. On the upside, above 140.25 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral and bring consolidations first, before staging another decline.

In the bigger picture, as long as 133.38 support holds, the up trend from 114.42 (2020 low) could still extend through 145.62 high. In that case, next target 149.76 (2015 high). However, sustained break of 133.38 will be a sign of medium term bearish reversal and bring deeper fall to 124.37 support first.

Intraday bias in EUR/JPY is turned neutral again with current recovery. Correction from 133.44 would still extend further. But in case of another fall, downside should be contained above 130.45 resistance turned support to bring rebound. On the upside, break of 133.44 will target 134.11 high first. Firm break there will resume larger up trend from 114.42. Next target is 61.8% projection of 121.63 to 134.11 from 127.91 at 135.62.

In the bigger picture, rise from 114.42 (2020 low) is still in progress and the strong support support from 55 week EMA affirms medium term bullishness. Further rise would be seen to retest 137.49 (2018 high). Decisive break there will resume the whole long term rise from 109.03 (2016 low). Next target will be 100% projection of 109.03 to 137.49 from 114.42 at 142.88. This will now remain the favored case as long as 127.91 support holds.

Daily Pivots: (S1) 123.61; (P) 124.03; (R1) 124.52; More…

Intraday bias in EUR/JPY remains mildly on the upside for 125.80/126.09 resistance zone. Decisive break of 126.09 will extend the whole rebound from 109.03 to 100% projection of 109.03 to 124.08 from 114.84 at 129.89. In case of another fall as consolidation from 125.80 extends, we’d still expect strong support from 38.2% retracement of 114.84 to 125.80 at 121.61 to bring rebound and then rise resumption.

In the bigger picture, focus is staying on 126.09 support turned resistance. Decisive break there will confirm completion of the down trend from 149.76. And in such case, rise from 109.20 is at the same degree and should target 141.04 resistance and above. Meanwhile, rejection from 126.09 and break of 114.84 will extend the fall from 149.76 through 109.20 low.

On the downside, break of 117.51 will resume the large down trend to 114.84 support next. However, break of 119.87 resistance will indicate short term bottoming. Stronger rebound should be seen to 55 day EMA (now at 120.67).

In the bigger picture, down trend from 137.49 is still in progress. It’s seen as a falling leg of multi-year sideway pattern. Deeper fall could be seen to 109.48 (2016 low and below). On the upside, break of 127.50 resistance is needed to confirm medium term reversal. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish in case of strong rebound.

Intraday bias in EUR/JPY remains neutral as range trading continues. For now, we’re favoring the case that rebound from 118.62 has completed at 125.95 already, just ahead of 55 day EMA. On the downside, break of 123.78 will add more credence to this case and target a test on 118.62 low. On the upside, however, decisive break of 125.95 will dampen our bearish view and target 129.25 resistance next.

In the bigger picture, medium term rebound from 109.03 (2016 low) has completed at 137.49 already, with corrective structure. Fall from 137.49 is likely still in progress. Decisive break of 118.62 will target 161.8% projection of 137.49 to 124.61 from 133.12 at 112.28, which is inside 109.03/114.84 support zone.

EUR/JPY Weekly Outlook

In the bigger picture, as long as 55 week EMA (now at 138.87) holds, larger up trend from 114.42 (2020 low) is still in progress for 149.76 long term resistance. However, firm break of 55 week EMA will bring deeper fall to 38.2% retracement of 114.42 to 148.38 at 135.40. Sustained break there will raise the chance of trend reversal, and target 61.8% retracement at 127.39.

In the long term picture, outlook will stay bullish as long as 134.11 resistance turned support holds (2021 high). Sustained break of 149.76 (2014 high) will open up further rally, as resumption of the rise from 94.11 (2012 low), towards 169.96 (2008 high).
