EUR/JPY Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 116.85; (P) 117.52; (R1) 118.46; More….

EUR/JPY recovered quickly after spiking lower to 116.56. Intraday bias is turned neutral for some consolidations first. Upside of recovery should be limited by 119.58 resistance to bring fall resumption. On the downside, break of 116.56 will resume larger down trend to 114.84 medium term support next. Though, break of 119.58 will indicate short term bottoming and bring stronger rebound.

In the bigger picture, down trend from 137.49 (2018 high) is still in progress. It’s seen as a falling leg of multi-year sideway pattern. Deeper fall could be seen to 109.48 (2016 low and below). On the upside, break of 123.35 resistance is needed to the first sign medium term reversal. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish in case of strong rebound.

EUR/JPY Weekly Outlook

EUR/JPY’s pull back was contained by 156.85 support last week. Initial bias stays neutral this week first, and more sideway trading could be seen. On the upside, break of 159.75 will resume larger up trend to 163.06 projection target. However, break of 156.85, and sustained trading below 55 D EMA (now at 156.47) will argue that it’s already in a larger scale correction. Deeper fall would then be seen towards 151.39 key support.

In the bigger picture, rise from 114.42 (2020 low) is in progress. Next target is 100% projection of 124.37 to 148.38 from 139.05 at 163.06. Sustained break there will pave the way to retest long term resistance at 169.96. This will remain the favored case as long as 151.39 support holds, even in case of deep pull back.

In the long term picture, rise from 109.03 (2016 low) is seen as the third leg of the whole up trend from 94.11 (2012 low). Next target is 100% projection of 94.11 to 149.76 from 114.42 at 170.07 which is close to 169.96 (2008 high).

Intraday bias in EUR/JPY is neutral so far with today recovery. But further fall is mildly in favor as long as 125.01 resistance holds. Decline from 127.50 should extend to 61.8% retracement of 118.62 to 127.50 at 122.01. However, break of 125.01 will turn bias back to the upside for 126.78/127.50 resistance zone.

In the bigger picture, rebound from 118.62 might have completed earlier than expected at 127.50. EUR/JPY is held well inside medium term falling channel, and below 55 week EMA (now at 127.73). That is, the down trend from 137.49 (2018 high) might still be in progress. Break of 118.62 will target 109.03/114.84 long term support zone. On the upside, however, break of 127.50 will extend the rebound from 118.62 to 133.12 key resistance instead.

Intraday bias in EUR/JPY remains neutral for consolidation below 127.07. Further rise is still expected as long as 124.44 support holds. Break of 127.07 will target 128.67 fibonacci level. However, firm break of 124.44 will confirm short term topping and turn bias to the downside for deeper correction.

In the bigger picture, whole down trend from 137.49 (2018 high) could have completed at 114.42 already. Rise from 114.42 would target 61.8% retracement of 137.49 to 114.42 at 128.67 next. Sustained break there will pave the way to 137.49 (2018 high). This will remain the preferred case for now, as long as 55 week EMA (now at 121.54) holds. However, sustained break of 55 week EMA will revive medium term bearishness for another low below 114.42 at a later stage.

EUR/JPY Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 132.08; (P) 132.65; (R1) 133.59; More….

Intraday bias in EUR/JPY remains neutral at this point. As long as 134.48 key resistance holds, risk remains on the downside. Break of 131.16 will target 38.2% retracement of 114.84 to 134.48 at 126.97, which is close to 127.55 support. We’ll look for support from there to bring rebound on first attempt.

In the bigger picture, medium term rise from 109.03 (2016 low) is seen as at the same degree as the down trend from 149.76 (2014 high) to 109.03 (2016 low). 61.8% retracement of 149.76 to 109.03 at 134.20 is already met. Sustained break there will pave the way to key long term resistance zone at 141.04/149.76. However, break of 127.55 support will argue that the medium term trend has reversed and will turn outlook bearish for deeper fall back to 114.84/124.08 support zone at least.

EUR/JPY Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 128.18; (P) 128.73; (R1) 129.04; More….

Intraday bias in EUR/JPY remains neutral at this point and more sideway trading could be seen. While another rise cannot be ruled out, near term outlook will remain bearish as long as 130.14 resistance holds. On the downside, break of 127.83 minor support should resume the fall fro 130.14 and target 126.63 low. Break will extend the decline from 133.12 to 124.08/89 support zone. On the upside, however, break of 130.14 will resume the rebound from 126.63 towards 133.12 resistance.

In the bigger picture, as long as 124.08 key resistance turn supported holds, larger up trend from 109.03 (2016 low) is still in progress. Firm break of 137.49 structural resistance will target 141.04/149.76 resistance zone next. However, decisive break of 124.08 will argue that such rise from 109.03 has completed and turn outlook bearish. In that case, deeper fall would be seen to 61.8% retracement of 109.03 to 137.49 at 119.90.

EUR/JPY Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 115.47; (P) 116.16; (R1) 116.67; More….

Intraday bias in EUR/JPY remains on the downside at this point. Sustained trading below 115.86 low will confirm larger down trend resumption. Next near term target will be 100% projection of 121.14 to 116.33 from 119.00 at 114.19. On the upside, however, break of 117.21 minor resistance will indicate short term bottoming and turn bias to the upside for rebound.

In the bigger picture, outlook remains bearish as the cross is staying well inside falling channel established since 137.49 (2018 high), as well as below falling 55 week EMA. As long as 122.87 resistance holds, the down trend form 137.49 should extend to 109.48 (2016 low). However, sustained break of 122.87 will indicate medium term bullish reversal.

EUR/JPY Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 127.24; (P) 127.59; (R1) 128.09; More….

Intraday bias in EUR/JPY is turned neutral with a temporary low formed at 126.63. But deeper decline is still expected with 128.50 minor resistance holds. Rebound from 124.61 could have finished at 130.33 already, after rejection by 55 day EMA. Below 126.63 will target a test on 124.08/61 support zone. Nonetheless, break of 128.50 will turn focus back to 130.33.

In the bigger picture, despite rebounding strongly ahead of 124.08 resistance turned support, there was no clear follow through buying. Note again that there is bearish divergence in daily MACD. Firm break of 124.08 will confirm trend reversal. That is, whole rise from 109.03 (2016 low) has completed at 137.49 already. In that case, deeper fall should be seen back to 61.8% retracement of 109.03 to 137.49 at 119.90 and below. Nonetheless, decisive break of 133.47 key resistance will likely extend the rise from 109.03 through 137.49 high.

EUR/JPY Weekly Outlook

EUR/JPY extended the corrective pattern from 148.38 last week and outlook is unchanged. Initial bias is neutral this week first. On the upside, above 146.12 minor resistance will bring stronger rally back to retest 148.38 high. On the downside, break of 142.54 support will bring deeper correction.

In the bigger picture, there is no clear sign of medium term topping yet. Up trend from 114.42 (2020 low) could still resume through 148.38 to 149.76 (2014 high). However, break of 137.32 support argue that a medium term correction has already started to correct the whole up trend from 114.42.

In the long term picture, outlook will stay bullish as long as 134.11 resistance turned support holds (2021 high). Sustained break of 149.76 (2014 high) will open up further rally, as resumption of the rise from 94.11 (2012 low), towards 169.96 (2008 high).

EUR/JPY Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 144.14; (P) 144.62; (R1) 145.52; More….

Intraday bias in EUR/JPY remains on the upside for the moment. Correction from 148.38 could have completed with three waves down to 140.75. Further rally would be seen to 146.12 resistance first. Firm break there will bring retest of 148.38 high. On the downside, however, break of 143.16 minor resistance will dampen this bullish case and turn intraday bias neutral again.

In the bigger picture, considering bearish divergence condition in weekly MACD, 148.38 could be a medium term top already. Fall from there is probably correcting whole up trend from 114.42 (2020 low). Deeper decline would be seen to 55 week EMA (now at 138.08), or further to 38.2% retracement of 114.42 to 148.38 at 135.40 before completion.

EUR/JPY Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 131.38; (P) 131.69; (R1) 131.93; More….

EUR/JPY is losing upside momentum as seen in 4 hour MACD. But further rise is expected as long as 129.90 minor support holds. Rebound from 124.61 should target 100% projection of 124.61 to 130.33 from 127.13 at 132.85 next. However, break of 129.90 will indicate short term topping and turn bias back to the downside for 127.13 support.

In the bigger picture, the strong break of channel resistance from 137.49 suggests that the decline from there as completed. The three wave structure suggests that it’s a correction. With 124.08 key resistance turned support intact, medium term bullishness is also retained. Break of 133.47 will affirm this bullish case and target 137.49 and above. This will now be the favored case as long as 127.13 support holds.

Intraday bias in EUR/JPY remains on the downside at this point. Fall from 170.78 will target 167.31 support first. Firm break there will confirm that corrective pattern from 171.58 has started the third leg, and target 164.01 support next. In the bigger picture, a medium top could be formed at 171.58 after brief breach of 169.96 (2008 high). As long as 55 W EMA (now at 159.10) holds, price actions from there is seen as correcting the rise from 153.15 only.
