EUR/JPY Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 131.29; (P) 131.52; (R1) 131.96; More….

EUR/JPY’s fall extends to as low as 130.58 so far and intraday bias remains on the downside. A medium term top is likely in place at 137.49 on bearish divergence condition in daily MACD. Deeper fall should be seen to 126.61 medium term fibonacci level next. On the upside, break of 132.17 resistance is needed to indicate short term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish in case of recovery.

In the bigger picture, current development argues that rise from 109.03 has completed at 137.49, on bearish divergence condition in weekly MACD. Deeper fall should be seen to 38.2% retracement of 109.03 to 137.49 at 126.61 first. On the upside, break of 137.49 is needed to confirm medium term rise resumption. Otherwise, risk will now stay on the downside even in case of strong rebound.

Consolidation form 128.58 is still extending and intraday bias remains neutral at this point. Outlook stays bearish with 131.07 resistance intact. On the downside, break of 128.85 will resume the fall from 134.11 to 127.07 resistance turned support next. On the upside, break of 131.07 resistance will argue that choppy fall from 134.11 has completed. Intraday bias will be turned back to the upside for 132.68 resistance first.

In the bigger picture, rise from 114.42 is seen as a medium term rising leg inside a long term sideway pattern. As long as 127.07 resistance turned support holds, further rise is still expected to retest 137.49 (2018 high). However, firm break of 127.07 will argue that the medium term trend has reversed, and open up the case for retesting 114.42.

Intraday bias in EUR/JPY remains on the upside. Current up trend should target 100% projection of 164.01 to 170.87 from 167.52 at 174.38. On the downside, below 171.36 minor support will turn intraday bias neutral and bring consolidations first. But outlook will remain bullish as long as 170.87 resistance turned support holds.

In the bigger picture, long term up trend is still in progress. Next target is 100% projection of 139.05 to 164.29 from 153.15 at 178.38. For now outlook will stay bullish as long as 167.52 support holds, even in case of deep pullback.

EUR/JPY Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 128.46; (P) 128.99; (R1) 129.41; More…

EUR/JPY is staying in the consolidation pattern from 130.76 and intraday bias remains neutral. Deeper fall might be seen. But downside should be contained by 127.43 cluster support (38.2% retracement of 122.39 to 130.76 at 127.56) and bring rebound. Above 130.76 will extend the larger rally to next key fibonacci level at 134.20.

In the bigger picture, the down trend from 149.76 (2014 high) is completed at 109.03 (2016 low). Current rally from 109.03 should be at the same degree as the fall from 149.76 to 109.03. Further rise is expected to 61.8% retracement of 149.76 to 109.03 at 134.20. Sustained break there will pave the way to key long term resistance zone at 141.04/149.76. Medium term outlook will remain bullish as long as 124.08 resistance turned support holds.

Intraday bias in EUR/JPY remains neutral for consolidative trading below 134.39 high. Near term outlook remains bullish as long as 131.69 holds. Sustained break of 134.20 fibonacci level will extend larger up trend to 141.04 resistance next. However, break of 131.69 will be an early sign of medium term reversal and will target 127.55 key support level instead.

In the bigger picture, current rise from 109.03 is seen as at the same degree as the down trend from 149.76 (2014 high) to 109.03 (2016 low). 61.8% retracement of 149.76 to 109.03 at 134.20 is already met. Sustained break there will pave the way to key long term resistance zone at 141.04/149.76. On the downside, break of 127.55 support is needed to be the first signal of medium term reversal. Otherwise, outlook will remain bullish.

Daily Pivots: (S1) 162.06; (P) 162.54; (R1) 163.18; More

Intraday bias in EUR/JPY remains neutral for the moment. Corrective pattern from 163.70 could extend further. Break of 161.67 minor support should push the cross through channel support (now at 161.18) to 38.2% retracement of 153.15 to 163.70 at 159.66. Nevertheless, firm break of 163.70 will resume whole rally from 153.15 to retest 164.29 high.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 164.29 medium term top are seen as a correction to rise from 139.05 only. As long as 148.38 resistance turned support holds (2022 high), larger up trend from 114.42 (2020 low) is expected to resume through 164.29 at a later stage. Next target would be 169.96 (2008 high).

EUR/JPY Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 131.67; (P) 132.07; (R1) 132.35; More….

No change in EUR/JPY’s outlook. As long as 103.97 support holds, further rally is expected. Current up trend from 114.42 should target 100% projection of 114.42 to 127.07 from 121.63 at 134.28 next. However, firm break of 130.97 should confirm short term topping. Intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for 55 day EMA (now at 129.99 first).

In the bigger picture, rise from 114.42 is seen as a medium term rising leg inside a long term sideway pattern. Further rise is expected as long as 127.07 resistance turned support holds. Next target is 137.49 (2018 high). Decisive break there will open up the possibility that it’s indeed resuming the up trend from 94.11 (2012 low).

EUR/JPY Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 167.83; (P) 168.37; (R1) 169.41; More

Intraday bias in EUR/JPY remains neutral at this point. On the upside, break of 169.38 will resume the rebound from 162.26. As the second leg of the corrective pattern from 171.58, this rise should target 171.58 next. On the downside, break of 166.73 support will argue that corrective pattern from 171.58 has started the third leg. Deeper fall would then be seen back to 164.01 support and below.

In the bigger picture, a medium top could be formed at 171.58 after brief breach of 169.96 (2008 high). As long as 55 W EMA (now at 157.89) holds, fall from there is seen as correcting the rise from 153.15 only. However, sustained break of 55 W EMA will argue that larger scale correction is underway and target 153.15 support.

EUR/JPY Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 121.45; (P) 121.83; (R1) 122.50; More…

EUR/JPY is staying in the correction from 124.08 and intraday bias remains neutral for the moment. Rebound from 109.20 is not finished yet. Break of 124.08 will extend such rise and target 126.09 key resistance next. Meanwhile, below 120.54 will target 118.45 cluster support (38.2% retracement of 109.20 to 124.08 at 118.39). We’d expect strong support from there to contain downside.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 109.20 medium term bottom are seen as part of a medium term corrective pattern from 149.76. There is prospect of another rise towards 126.09 key resistance level before completion. But even in that case, we’d expect strong resistance between 126.09 and 141.04 to limit upside, at least on first attempt. Sustained trading below 55 day EMA will pave the way to retest 109.20.

EUR/JPY Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 125.58; (P) 126.52; (R1) 128.32; More…

EUR/JPY soared sharply to as high as 127.47 so far and remains firm. The break of 126.09 key resistance carries larger bullish implications. Intraday bias remains on the upside and current rally would target 61.8% projection of 114.84 to 125.80 from 122.39 at 129.16 first. That’s also close to medium term projection level at 129.89. On the downside, below 126.47 minor support will turn bias neutral and bring retreat first, before staging another rally.

In the bigger picture, the break of 126.09 support turned resistance should have confirmed completion of down trend form 149.76 (2014 high), at 109.03 (2016 low). Current rise from 109.03 should target 100% projection of 109.03 to 124.08 from 114.84 at 129.89 first. Break there will pave the way to 61.8% retracement of 149.76 to 109.03 at 134.20 and above. Medium term outlook will now remain bullish as long as 122.39 support holds.

No change in EUR/JPY’s outlook despite diminishing upside moment as seen in 4 hour MACD. Further rally is expected with 122.92 minor support intact. Firm break of 124.08 resistance will confirm resumption of whole rise from 109.20. In that case, EUR/JPY would target 126.09 resistance first. Break there will pave the way to 100% projection of 109.03 to 124.08 from 114.84 at 129.89. On the downside, below 122.92 minor support will turn bias to the downside and bring pull back.

In the bigger picture, focus is back on 126.09 support turned resistance. Decisive break there will confirm completion of the down trend from 149.76. And in such case, rise from 109.20 is at the same degree and should target 141.04 resistance and above. Meanwhile, rejection from 126.09 and break of 114.84 will extend the fall from 149.76 through 109.20 low.

EUR/JPY is staying above 169.98 despite today’s fall. Intraday bias remains neutral first, and further decline is expected as long as 172.91 resistance holds. Below 169.98 will target 38.2% retracement of 153.15 to 175.41 at 166.90, as a correction to whole rise from 153.15. On the upside, though, break of 172.91 resistance will revive near term bullishness and bring retest of 175.41 high.

In the bigger picture, medium term outlook will stay bullish as long as 164.29 resistance turned support holds. Long term up trend is still in favor to continue through 175.41 at a later stage. However, firm break of 164.29 will be a strong sign of bearish trend reversal.

Intraday bias in EUR/JPY remains on the upside at this point. Current up trend from 114.42 should target 100% projection of 114.42 to 127.07 from 121.63 at 134.28. On the downside, below 132.90 minor support will turn bias neutral and bring consolidations. But outlook will stay bullish as long 130.97 support holds.

In the bigger picture, a medium top could be formed at 171.58 after brief breach of 169.96 (2008 high). As long as 55 W EMA (now at 157.82) holds, fall from there is seen as correcting the rise from 153.15 only. EUR/JPY Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 131.44; (P) 132.27; (R1) 132.73; More….

Near term outlook remains bearish with 133.38 resistance intact. Sustained trading below 132.04 cluster support (23.6% retracement of 114.84 to 137.49 at 132.14) will indicate larger trend reversal on bearish divergence condition in daily MACD. In such case, deeper decline would be seen for 38.2% retracement at 128.38 first. However, rebound from 132.04 will retain near term bullishness. Break of 133.38 minor resistance will turn bias back to the upside for 137.49 again.

In the bigger picture, bearish divergence condition in weekly MACD indicates loss of medium term upside momentum. Sustained break of 132.04 will be the early sign of long term reversal and should bring deeper fall back to retest 124.08 key support level. Meanwhile, break of 137.49 will resume the up trend from 109.03 to 141.04/149.76 resistance zone.
