EUR/GBP Weekly Outlook

EUR/GBP stayed in consolidation below 0.8593 temporary top last week. Outlook is unchanged and initial bias is neutral this week first. Above 0.8593 will resume the rise from 0.8401 short term bottom to 0.8656 key resistance. Firm break there will argue that whole down trend from 0.9499 has completed. On the downside, however, break of 0.8459 minor support will bring retest of 0.8401 low instead.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 0.9499 (2020 high) are still seen as developing into a corrective pattern. Deeper fall could be seen as long as 0.8656 resistance holds, towards long term support at 0.8276. However, firm break of 0.8656 resistance would argue that a medium term bottom was already formed. Stronger rise would be seen to 0.8861 support turned resistance to confirm completion of the corrective pattern.

In the long term picture, outlook will stay bullish as long as 0.8276 support holds. Break of 0.9499 is in favor at a later stage, to resume the up trend from 0.6935 (2015 low).

Intraday bias in EUR/GBP remains neutral for the moment. As noted before, with 0.8668 resistance intact, larger fall from 0.9499 is probably still in progress. On the downside, break of 0.8509 will resume the fall from 0.8612 to retest 0.8448 low. On the upside, though, break of 0.8612 will resume the rise from 0.8448 to 0.8668 resistance.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 0.9499 (2020 high) are still seen as developing into a corrective pattern. Deeper fall could be seen as long as 0.8668 resistance holds, towards long term support at 0.8276. However, firm break of 0.8668 resistance would argue that a medium term bottom was already formed. Stronger rise would be seen to 0.8861 support turned resistance to confirm completion of the corrective pattern.

EUR/GBP Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.8568; (P) 0.8578; (R1) 0.8588; More…

Intraday bias in EUR/GBP stays neutral at this point, and further rise is in favor with 0.8529 support intact. Rebound from 0.8497 is seen as at least correcting the fall from 0.8764. Above 0.8601 will target 161.8% projection of 0.8497 to 0.8577 from 0.8503 at 0.8632.

In the bigger picture, there is no clear sign that down trend from 0.9267 has completed, despite loss of downside momentum as seen in D MACD. As long as 0.8713 resistance holds, the down trend will remain in favor to resume through 0.8491 low at la later stage.

EUR/GBP Weekly Outlook

EUR/GBP’s edged lower last week as corrective fall from 0.9324 extended. Overall near term outlook is unchanged. Further decline could be seen initially this week. But downside should be contained by 0.8891/9051 support zone to bring rebound. On the upside, break of 0.9157 will turn bias back to the upside for 0.9324 resistance first. However, sustained break of 0.8891 will target 61.8% retracement of 0.8472 to 0.9324 at 0.8797 and below.

In the bigger picture, up trend from 0.6935 (2015 low) should be resuming. Sustained break of 0.9305 will confirm and target 0.9799 (2008 high) and then 61.8% projection of 0.6935 to 0.9305 from 0.8472 at 0.9937. In any case, medium term outlook will remain bullish as long as 0.8891 support holds, in case of deep pull back. However, sustained break of 0.8891 will dampen this bullish view and focus would be back on 0.8472 key support.

In the long term picture, we’re holding on to the view that rise from 0.6935 (2015 low) is resuming the up trend from 0.5680 (2000 low). As long as 0.8472 support holds, further rise should be seen through 0.9305 to 0.9799 and above down the road.

EUR/GBP Weekly Outlook

EUR/GBP’s rise from 0.8312 resumed last week and breached 0.8851 resistance. Initial bias remains on the upside this week first. Firm break of 0.8851 will pave the way to retest 0.9304 high. At this point, there is no clear sign up larger up trend resumption yet. Hence, we’ll be cautious on topping around 0.9304. On the downside, however, break of 0.8639 support will now indicate near term topping and bring deeper pull back to 55 day EMA (now at 0.8584) and below.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 0.9304 are viewed as a medium term corrective pattern. The leg from 0.9304 should have completed after testing 0.8332 structural support. But it’s too early to say that larger rise from 0.6935 is resuming. Rejection from 0.9304 will extend the consolidation with another falling leg. Meanwhile, firm break of 0.9304 will target 0.9799 (2008 high). In case of another decline, we’d expect strong support from 0.8116 cluster support (50% retracement of 0.6935 to 0.9304 at 0.8120) to contain downside and bring rebound.

In the long term picture, firstly, price action from 0.9799 (2008 high) is seen as a long term corrective pattern and should have completed at 0.6935 (2015 low). Secondly, rise from 0.6935 is likely resuming up trend from 0.5680 (2000 low). Thirdly, this is supported by the impulsive structure of the rise from 0.6935 to 0.9304. Hence, after the correction from 0.9304 completes, we’d expect another medium term up trend to target 0.9799 high and above.

Intraday bias in EUR/GBP is neutral for the moment. We’d stay cautious on rejection from 0.9304 to extend the medium term consolidation pattern. Break of 0.9184 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for pull back to 55 day EMA (now at 0.8986). However, sustained break of 0.9304 will confirm up trend resumption and pave the way to 0.9799.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 0.9304 are viewed as a medium term corrective pattern. It’s uncertain whether it is finished yet. But in case of another fall, we’d expect strong support from 0.8116 cluster support (50% retracement of 0.6935 to 0.9304 at 0.8120) to contain downside and bring rebound. Whole up trend from 0.6935 is expected to resume after consolidation from 0.9304 completes. Firm break of 0.9799 high will target 61.8% projection of 0.5680 to 0.9799 from 0.6935 at 1.1054.

EUR/GBP Weekly Outlook

EUR/GBP edged lower to 0.8448 last week but quickly recovered. Initial bias remains neutral this week first. Outlook stays mildly bearish as long as 0.8556 resistance holds. On the downside, break of 0.8448 will resume the whole decline from 0.9799, to retest 0.8276 key long term support level. However, break of 0.8556 will bring stronger rebound back to 0.8668 resistance.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 0.9499 (2020 high) are still seen as developing into a corrective pattern. Deeper fall could be seen as long as 0.8718 resistance holds, towards long term support at 0.8276. However, firm break of 0.8668 resistance would argue that a medium term bottom was already formed. Intraday bias in EUR/GBP stays neutral with focus on 0.8720 resistance turned support. Firm break of 0.8720 will argue that whole rise from 0.8201 has completed in three-wave corrective pattern, and target 55 day EMA (now at 0.8636) first. Strong rebound from current level, will retain near term bullishness. Break of 0.9065 minor resistance will bring retest of 0.9267.

In the bigger picture, as long as 0.8720 resistance turned support holds, rise from 0.8201 is seen as resuming larger up trend from 0.6935 (2015 low). Break of 0.9499 (2020 high) should be seen at a later stage. However, firm break of 0.8720 will argue that sideway pattern from 0.9499 is extending with another falling leg instead.

Intraday bias in EUR/GBP is turned neutral again with current retreat. But outlook is unchanged that price actions from 0.8502 are a consolidation pattern. Above 0.8629 would bring stronger recovery, but upside should be limited 0.8700 to bring larger decline resumption. On the downside, below 0.8522 will bring retest of 0.8491 support.

In the bigger picture, the down trend from 0.9267 (2022 high) is seen as part of the long term range pattern from 0.9499 (2020 high). Fall from 0.8977 is seen as the third leg. As long as 0.8700 resistance holds, further decline is still expected. Break of 0.8491 will resume the fall towards 0.8201 (2022 low). Nevertheless, firm break of 0.8700 will now be a sign of bullish reversal.

EUR/GBP drops sharply to as low as 0.8699 so far. Firm break of 0.8732 support finally confirms resumption of fall from 0.9305. Intraday bias is back on the downside for 61.8% projection of 0.9305 to 0.8745 from 0.8981 at 0.8468 first. Break will target 100% projection at 0.8151 next. On the upside, break of 0.8849 resistance is needed to indicate short term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish in case of recovery.

In the bigger picture, there are various ways to interpret price actions from 0.9304 high. But after all, firm break of 0.9304/5 is needed to confirm up trend resumption.
