EUR/GBP Mid-Day Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.8861; (P) 0.8893; (R1) 0.8912; More…

EUR/GBP’s decline from 0.8967 is still in progress an reaches as low as 0.8840 so far. Intraday bias remains on the downside for 0.8771 support. Break there will confirm completion of rebound from 0.8686 and target a retest of this low. On the upside, above 0.8896 minor resistance will turn bias neutral first. Further break of 0.8967 will resume the rebound from 0.8686 to 61.8% retracement of 0.9305 to 0.8686 at 0.9069.

In the bigger picture, there are various ways to interpret price actions from 0.9304 high. But after all, firm break of 0.9304/5 is needed to confirm up trend resumption. Otherwise, range trading will continue with risk of deeper fall. And in that case, EUR/GBP could have a retest on 0.8303. But we’d expect strong support from 0.8116 cluster support (50% retracement of 0.6935 to 0.9304 at 0.8120) to contain downside.

EUR/GBP Weekly Outlook

EUR/GBP’s steep decline last week argues that rebound from 0.8201 has completed at 0.8720 already, after rejection by 0.8697 medium term fibonacci level. The development maintains medium term bearishness. Initial bias stays on the downside this week for retesting 0.8201/48 support zone next. On the upside, above 0.8531 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral first.

In the bigger picture, rejection by 38.2% retracement of 0.9499 to 0.8201 at 0.8697 argues that rebound from 0.8201 is merely a corrective move. That is, down trend from 0.9499 (2020 high) is now over. Sustained break of 0.8201 will resume such decline and target 61.8% retracement of 0.6935 to 0.9499 at 0.7917. This will now remain the favored case as long as 0.8720 resistance holds.

In the long term picture, the lack of medium term downside momentum suggests that fall from 0.9499 (2020 high) is merely a correction to rise from 0.6935 (2015 high). In case of another fall, downside should be contained by 61.8% retracement of 0.6935 to 0.9499 at 0.7917 to bring rebound. Sustained trading above 55 month EMA (now at 0.8604) will indicate that the correction has completed and bring retest of 0.9499.

EUR/GBP Weekly Outlook

EUR/GBP dropped to 0.8474 last week but turned sideway since then. Initial bias is neutral this week for some more consolidation first. As long as 0.8676 resistance holds, further decline is expected. Firm break of 0.8474 will resume larger down trend to 0.8416 long term projection next. However, on the upside, decisive break of 0.8676 will indicate short term reversal and bring further rise to 0.8840 resistance.

In the bigger picture, EUR/GBP is seen as staying in long term range pattern started at 0.9304 (2016 high). Current fall from 0.9305 (2017 high), is a falling leg inside the pattern. Such decline is now targeting 100% projection of 0.9305 to 0.8620 from 0.9101 at 0.8416 and possibly below. But for now, we’d expect strong support around 0.8312 support to contain downside and bring rebound.

In the long term picture, we’re holding on to the view that rise from 0.6935 (2015 low) is resuming the up trend from 0.5680 (2000 low). As long as 050% retracement of 0.6935 to 0.9304 at 0.8120 holds, further rise should be seen through 0.9305 to 0.9799 and above down the road.

EUR/GBP Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.8728; (P) 0.8747; (R1) 0.8767; More…

As noted before, EUR/GBP’s rebound could have completed with three waves up to 0.8844. Deeper fall is in favor to 0.8679 support first. Break will affirm the bearish case that decline form 0.9305 is still in progress and target 0.8620 and below. On the upside, break of 0.8844 is now needed to revive the bullish case of reversal. Otherwise, outlook is now bearish even in case of recovery.

In the bigger picture, for now, the decline from 0.9305 is seen as a leg inside the long term consolidation pattern from 0.9304 (2016 high). Such consolidation pattern could extend further. Hence, in case of strong rally, we’d be cautious on strong resistance by 0.9304/5 to limit upside. Meanwhile, in another decline attempt, we’d expect strong support from 0.8116 cluster support (50% retracement of 0.6935 to 0.9304 at 0.8120) to contain downside.

EUR/GBP Weekly Outlook

EUR/GBP spiked lower to 0.8861 last week but quickly drew support from 0.8866 support and recovered. Initial bias is neutral this week first. Further fall is mildly in favor with 0.9068 resistance intact. Sustained break of 0.8866 will argue that rebound from 0.8670 has completed, and pattern from 0.9499 has started the third leg. Intraday bias will be back on the downside for 0.8670 and possibly below. Nevertheless, firm break of 0.9068 will turn bias back to the upside for 0.9291 resistance.

In the bigger picture, at this point, we’re seeing the price actions from 0.9499 as developing into a corrective pattern. That is, up trend from 0.6935 (2015 low) would resume at a later stage. This will remain the favored case as long as 0.8276 support holds. Decisive break of 0.9499 will target 0.9799 (2008 high).

In the long term picture, rise from 0.6935 (2015 low) is still in progress. It could be resuming long term up trend from 0.5680 (2000 low). Break of 0.9799 (2008 high) is expected down the road, as long as 0.8276 support holds.

EUR/GBP Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.8552; (P) 0.8601; (R1) 0.8631; More…

Intraday bias in EUR/GBP remains on the downside at this point. Fall from 0.9267 is in progress and should target 0.8201/8388 support zone. For now, near term outlook will remain bearish as long as 0.8779 resistance holds, in case of recovery.

In the bigger picture, current development suggests that fall from 0.9267 is a down leg inside long term range pattern. Deeper fall could be seen towards 0.8201/8338 support zone. But strong support should be seen there to bring reversal.

EUR/GBP Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.8815; (P) 0.8843; (R1) 0.8860; More…

With 0.8807 minor support intact, rebound from 0.8670 short term bottom is still in favor to extend. Further rise would be seen to 38.2% retracement of 0.9499 to 0.8670 at 0.8987. Break of 0.8987 should target 61.8% retracement at 0.9182 and above. On the downside, though, break of 0.8807 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for 0.8670.

In the bigger picture, while the pull back from 0.9499 is deep, there is no sign of trend reversal yet. The up trend from 0.6935 (2015 low) should resume at a later stage to 61.8% projection of 0.6935 to 0.9263 from 0.8276 at 0.9715. This will remain the favored case as long as 0.8276 support holds.

EUR/GBP Weekly Outlook

EUR/GBP’s break of 0.8577 resistance and 55 D EMA (now at 0.8562) last week suggest that rebound from 0.8497 is at least correcting the fall from 0.8764. Initial bias is now on the upside this week for 161.8% projection of 0.8497 to 0.8577 from 0.8503 at 0.8632. For, further rise will remain in favor as long as 0.8529 minor support holds, in case of retreat.

In the bigger picture, there is no clear sign that down trend from 0.9267 has completed, despite loss of downside momentum as seen in D MACD. As long as 0.8713 resistance holds, the down trend will remain in favor to resume through 0.8491 low at la later stage.

In the long term picture, price action from 0.9499 (2020 high) is seen as part of the long term range pattern from 0.9799 (2008 high). Fall from 0.9267 is the third leg of the pattern from 0.9499. Break of 0.8201 (2022 low) will target 100% projection of 0.9499 to 0.8201 from 0.9267 at 0.7969.

EUR/GBP Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.8317; (P) 0.8342; (R1) 0.8390; More…

EUR/GBP’s break of 0.8348 minor resistance suggests short term bottoming at 0.8282, ahead of 0.8276 low. Consolidation pattern from 0.8276 might be extending with another rising leg. Intraday bias is back on the upside for 55 day EMA (now at 0.8473). On the downside, decisive break of 0.8276 will confirm resumption of whole fall from 0.9324.

In the bigger picture, decline from 0.9324 medium term top is still in progress. As long as 0.8595 holds, further fall is expected to 61.8% retracement of 0.6935 to 0.9324 at 0.7848. Nevertheless, break of 0.8786 will argue that fall from 0.9324 has completed and bring stronger rebound.

EUR/GBP Weekly Outlook

EUR/GBP edged higher to 0.9175 last week but failed to break through 61.8% retracement of 0.9499 to 0.8670 at 0.9182 and reversed. Initial bias is neutral this week with focus on 0.9001 support. As long as 0.9001 holds, another rise is in favor. Sustained break of 0.9182 will pave the way to retest 0.9499 high. However, firm break of 0.9001 will argue that whole rebound from 0.8670 has completed. Intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for 0.8864 support and below.

In the bigger picture, while the pull back from 0.9499 was deep, there is no sign of trend reversal yet. The up trend from 0.6935 (2015 low) should resume at a later stage to 61.8% projection of 0.6935 to 0.9263 from 0.8276 at 0.9715. This will remain the favored case as long as 0.8276 support holds.

In the long term picture, rise from 0.6935 (2015 low) is still in progress. It could be resuming long term up trend from 0.5680 (2000 low). Decisive break of 0.9799 will target 100% projection of 0.5680 to 0.9799 from 0.6935 at 1.1054.

EUR/GBP Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.8710; (P) 0.8739; (R1) 0.8765; More…

Intraday bias in EUR/GBP remains neutral and consolidation from 0.8670 might continue. On the upside, break of 0.8863 will confirm short term bottoming at 0.8670. Further rise should be seen to 38.2% retracement of 0.9499 to 0.8670 at 0.8987. On the downside, however, break of 0.8670 will resume the fall from 0.9499 to 0.8276/82 key support zone.

EUR/GBP Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.8898; (P) 0.8918; (R1) 0.8946; More…

EUR/GBP is still bounded in consolidation from 0.8957 and intraday bias stays neutral. Overall as long as 0.8815 support holds, outlook remains bearish and further rise is expected in the cross. On the upside, decisive break of 0.8967 cluster resistance (50% retracement of 0.9305 to 0.8620 at 0.8963) should confirm completion of whole decline from 0.9305. EUR/GBP should then target 61.8% retracement at 0.9043 next.

In the bigger picture, EUR/GBP is staying in long term range pattern from 0.9304 (2016 high). The corrective structure of the fall from 0.9305 to 0.8620 is raising the chance that rise from 0.8312 to 0.9305 is an impulsive move. But we’re not too confident on it yet. In any case, we’d stay cautious on strong resistance from 0.9304/5 to limit upside in case of further rally. Meanwhile, if there is another medium term decline, strong support will likely be seen from 0.8303 to contain downside.

EUR/GBP Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.8465; (P) 0.8482; (R1) 0.8512; More…

EUR/GBP’s rise from 0.8201 extends higher today. The break of 0.8476 structural resistance should confirm medium term bottoming at 0.8201, with a head and shoulder bottom pattern too (ls: 0.8282, h: 0.8201, rs: 0.8294). Intraday bias stays on the upside for 0.8697 medium term fibonacci level next. On the downside, break of 0.8448 minor support will mix up the outlook and turn intraday bias neutral first.

In the bigger picture, a medium term bottom should be in place at 0.8201, on bullish convergence condition in daily and weekly MACD. Rise from there could either be a correction to the down trend from 0.9499 (2020 high), or a medium term up trend itself. In either case, further rise should be seen to 38.2% retracement of 0.9499 to 0.8201 at 0.8697. Sustained break there will target 61.8% retracement at 0.9003. This will remain the favored case as long as 0.8294 support holds.

EUR/GBP Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.8596; (P) 0.8612; (R1) 0.8628; More…

Range trading continues in EUR/GBP and intraday bias remains neutral. As long as 0.8484 support holds, further rise is in favor. Break of 0.8720 and sustained trading above 0.8697 medium term fibonacci level will carry larger bullish implication. Next target is 0.9003 fibonacci level. However, break of 0.8484 will indicate rejection by 0.8697 and turn near term outlook bearish.

In the bigger picture, rise from 0.8201 medium term bottom could could either be a correction to the down trend from 0.9499 (2020 high), or a medium term up trend itself. Sustained break of 38.2% retracement of 0.9499 to 0.8201 at 0.8697 will affirm the latter case, and pave the way to 61.8% retracement at 0.9003. However, rejection by 0.8697 will maintain medium term bearishness.

EUR/GBP Daily Outlook

EUR/GBP is staying in range of 0.8474/8676 and intraday bias remains neutral first. With 0.8676 resistance intact, further decline is expected.

EUR/GBP Weekly Outlook

EUR/GBP dropped further to as low as 0.8763 last week after taking out 0.8927 support. A temporary low is formed and initial bias is turned neutral this week. Further decline is expected as long as 0.8927 support turned resistance holds. Below 0.8763 will target 0.8620/55 support zone. We’d expect strong support from there to bring near term reversal.

In the bigger picture, EUR/GBP is seen as staying in long term range pattern started at 0.9304 (2016 high). The medium term range is set between 0.8620 and 0.9101. Downside break out of 0.8620 will pave the way back to 0.8302/12 support zone. Break of 0.9101 will bring retest of 0.9304/5 resistance.

In the long term picture, we’re holding on to the view that rise from 0.6935 (2015 low) is resuming the up trend from 0.5680 (2000 low). Hence, after the consolidation from 0.9304 completes, we’d expect another medium term up trend through 0.9799 to 100% projection of 0.5680 to 0.9799 from 0.6935 at 1.1054.

EUR/GBP Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.8553; (P) 0.8569; (R1) 0.8598; More…

Intraday bias in EUR/GBP remains neutral as range trading continues. With 0.8365 support intact, further rise is in favor. On the upside, break of 0.8617 will resume rise from 0.8201 medium term bottom to 0.8697 medium term fibonacci level. However, break of 0.8365 will dampen this bullish view, and turn bias back to the downside instead.

In the bigger picture, a medium term bottom could be in place at 0.8201, on bullish convergence condition in daily and weekly MACD.

EUR/GBP Weekly Outlook

EUR/GBP edged higher to 0.9051 last week but retreated sharply since then. Initial bias remains neutral this week first. With 0.8954 minor support intact, further rise cannot be ruled out. But upside momentum is clearly diminishing as seen in 4 hour and daily MACD. Upside should be limited by 0.9101 key resistance to bring reversal. On the downside, break of 0.8954 support should confirm short term topping. In this case, deeper pull back could be seen to 55 day EMA (now at 0.8882) first.

In the bigger picture, medium term decline from 0.9305 (2017 high) is seen as a corrective move. No change in this view. Current development argues that it might have completed with three waves down to 0.8472, just ahead of 38.2% retracement of 0.6935 (2015 low) to 0.9306 at 0.8400, after hitting 55 month EMA (now at 0.8545). Decisive break of 0.9101 resistance will confirm this bullish case. However, firm break of 55 week EMA (now at 0.8801) would possibly extend the correction another another fall to below 0.8472 before completion.

In the long term picture, we’re holding on to the view that rise from 0.6935 (2015 low) is resuming the up trend from 0.5680 (2000 low). As long as 38.2% retracement of 0.6935 to 0.9306 at 0.8400 holds, further rise should be seen through 0.9305 to 0.9799 and above down the road.

EUR/GBP Daily Outlook

EUR/GBP is still staying in sideway trading and intraday bias remains neutral first. With 0.8861 support intact, choppy rise from 0.8670 is in favor to extend. On the upside, decisive break of 0.9291 will target 0.9449 high. On the downside, however, break of 0.8861 will bring deeper fall back to 0.8670 support.

In the bigger picture, we’re seeing the price actions from 0.9499 as developing into a corrective pattern. That is, up trend from 0.6935 (2015 low) would resume at a later stage. This will remain the favored case as long as 0.8276 support holds. Decisive break of 0.9499 will target 0.9799 (2008 high).
