EUR/GBP Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.8867; (P) 0.8884; (R1) 0.8906; More…

No change in EUR/GBP’s outlook. Despite the rally attempt, upside momentum remains unconvincing. Break of 0.8981 resistance is needed to indicate completion of the decline from 0.9305. Otherwise, another fall would be mildly in favor. Below 0.8808 support will turn bias to the downside for 0.8688 support first.

In the bigger picture, there are various ways to interpret price actions from 0.9304 high. But after all, firm break of 0.9304/5 is needed to confirm up trend resumption. Otherwise, range trading will continue with risk of deeper fall. And in that case, EUR/GBP could have a retest on 0.8303. But we’d expect strong support from 0.8116 cluster support (50% retracement of 0.6935 to 0.9304 at 0.8120) to contain downside.

EUR/GBP Weekly Outlook

EUR/GBP’s break of 0.8499 support last week suggests that corrective rise from 0.8447 has completed with three waves up to 0.8656. Initial bias stays on the downside this week for retesting 0.8448 low first. Firm break there resume larger down trend from 0.9499, towards 0.8276 key support. On the upside, above 0.8543 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral first. But risk will stay on the downside as long as 0.8656 resistance holds.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 0.9499 (2020 high) are still seen as developing into a corrective pattern. Deeper fall could be seen as long as 0.8668 resistance holds, towards long term support at 0.8276. However, firm break of 0.8668 resistance would argue that a medium term bottom was already formed. Stronger rise would be seen to 0.8861 support turned resistance to confirm completion of the corrective pattern.

In the long term picture, outlook will stay bullish as long as 0.8276 support holds. Break of 0.9499 is in favor at a later stage, to resume the up trend from 0.6935 (2015 low).

Intraday bias in EUR/GBP is turned neutral with current recovery. As noted before, with 0.8668 resistance intact, larger fall from 0.9499 is probably still in progress. On the downside, break of 0.8509 will resume the fall from 0.8612 to retest 0.8448 low. On the upside, though, break of 0.8612 will resume the rise from 0.8448 to 0.8668 resistance.

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.8846; (P) 0.8872; (R1) 0.8901; More

Intraday bias in EUR/GBP remains neutral for consolidation above 0.8773 temporary low. Near term outlook stays bearish as long as 0.8981 cluster resistance holds (38.2% retracement of 0.9305 to 0.8773 at 0.8976). Fall from 0.9305 is seen as the third leg of consolidation pattern from 0.9304. Below 0.8773 will target 61.8% retracement of 0.8312 to 0.9305 at 0.8691 and below. We’ll look for bottoming signal again at it approaches 0.8303 support.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 0.9304 are viewed as a medium term corrective pattern. It’s still in progress with fall from 0.9305 as the third leg. Break of 0.8303 could be seen. But we’d expect strong support from 0.8116 cluster support (50% retracement of 0.6935 to 0.9304 at 0.8120) to contain downside. Whole up trend from 0.6935 is expected to resume after consolidation from 0.9304 completes.

Intraday bias in EUR/GBP remains neutral for the moment. On the upside, break of 0.8827 will resume the rise from 0.8570 to 0.8869. Sustained break there will pave the way back to retest 0.9267 high. On the downside, below 0.8689 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for 0.8570 instead.

In the bigger picture, current development suggests that fall from 0.9267 is a down leg inside long term range pattern. Deeper fall could be seen towards 0.8201/8338 support zone. But strong support should be seen there to bring reversal. Nevertheless, firm break of 0.8869 resistance will turn favor to the case that such decline is merely a correction in the up trend from 0.8201. That is, further rally would be seen at a later stage through 0.9267.

EUR/GBP Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.8686; (P) 0.8711; (R1) 0.8757; More

Intraday bias in EUR/GBP remains neutral as consolidation from 0.8786 continues. Deeper retreat cannot be ruled out. But downside should be contained by 38.2% retracement of 0.8402 to 0.8786 at 38.2% retracement of 0.8402 to 0.8786 at 0.8639 and bring another rise. Above 0.8786 will target 0.8851 resistance and above. However, price actions from 0.8303 are seen as the second leg of the corrective pattern from 0.9304. Hence, we’d expect strong resistance from 100% projection of 0.8303 to 0.8851 from 0.8402 at 0.8950 to limit upside.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 0.9304 are viewed as a medium term corrective pattern. Deeper fall cannot be ruled out yet. But we’d expect strong support from 0.8116 cluster support (50% retracement of 0.6935 to 0.9304 at 0.8120) to contain downside. Overall, the corrective pattern would take some time to complete before long term up trend resumes at a later stage. Break of 0.9304 will pave the way to 0.9799 (2008 high).

EUR/GBP Weekly Outlook

EUR/GBP edged lower to 0.8521 but recovered since then. Initial bias is neutral tis week for some consolidations first. Another fall is mildly in favor as long as 0.8676 resistance holds. Break of 0.8521 will target target 100% projection of 0.9324 to 0.8786 from 0.9019 at 0.8481, which is close to 0.8472 key support. Considering diminishing downside momentum as seen in daily MACD, we’d expect strong support from there to bring rebound. On the upside, break of 0.8676 resistance will indicate short term bottoming and bring stronger rebound back to 0.8786/9019 resistance zone first.

In the bigger picture, we’re seeing 0.9324 as a medium term top on bearish divergence condition in weekly MACD. Price actions from there should develop into a corrective pattern. Deeper fall should be seen back to 38.2% retracement of 0.6935 to 0.9324 at 0.8411 but strong support should be seen there, at least on first attempt, to bring rebound. On the upside, break of 0.9324 is needed to confirm up trend resumption. Otherwise, risk will stay on the downside even in case of strong rebound.

In the long term picture, rise from 0.6935 (2015 low) could either be resuming the up trend from 0.5680 (2000 low). Or it’s just the second leg of the consolidation pattern from 0.9799 (2008 high). Eventual structure of the pull back from 0.9324 should reveal which case it should be.

EUR/GBP is staying in consolidation from 0.8521 temporary low and intraday bias remains neutral first. Further decline remains mildly in favor as long as 0.8605 minor resistance holds. Break of 0.8521 will target 100% projection of 0.9324 to 0.8786 from 0.9019 at 0.8481, which is close to 0.8472 key support. Considering diminishing downside momentum as seen in daily MACD, we’d expect strong support from there to bring rebound. On the upside, break of 0.86860576 resistance will indicate short term bottoming and bring stronger rebound back to 0.8786/9019 resistance zone.

EUR/GBP Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.8871; (P) 0.8894; (R1) 0.8918; More…

EUR/GBP is losing upside momentum as seen 4 hour MACD. But with 0.8829 support intact, further rise should be seen towards 0.9101 key resistance next. We’d be cautious on strong resistance from there to limit upside to bring retreat. On the downside, though, break of 0.8829 support will indicate short term topping and bring lengthier consolidation before staging another rise.

In the bigger picture, medium term decline from 0.9305 (2017 high) is seen as a corrective move. No change in this view. Current development argues that it might have completed with three waves down to 0.8472, just ahead of 38.2% retracement of 0.6935 (2015 low) to 0.9306 at 0.8400, after hitting 55 month EMA (now at 0.8526). Decisive break of 0.9101 resistance will confirm this bullish case. Nevertheless, as EUR/GBP is still staying inside long term falling channel, correction from 0.9305 could still extend to 0.8400 fibonacci level before completion, if upside is rejected by 0.9101.

EUR/GBP Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.8843; (P) 0.8864; (R1) 0.8884; More…

Focus stays on 0.8894 minor resistance in EUR/GBP. Break should confirm short term bottoming at 0.8786, on bullish convergence condition in 4 hour MACD, after breaching 61.8% retracement of 0.8472 to 0.9324 at 0.8797. Intraday bias would then be turned back to the upside for 55 day EMA (now at 0.8969). On the downside, sustained break of 0.8797 will extend the fall from 0.9324 towards 0.8472 key support next.

In the bigger picture, the failure to sustain above 0.9305 (2017 high) suggests that consolidation from there is extending. Breach of 0.8472 cannot be ruled out but downside should be contained by 38.2% retracement of 0.6935 (2015 low) to 0.9305 at 0.8400. On the upside, firm break of 0.9327 will confirm up trend resumption.

The break of 0.8511 minor resistance indicates near term reversal in EUR/GBP. And the corrective pattern from 0.8851 could be finished with three waves down to 0.8312, just ahead of 0.8303 support. Intraday bias is turned back to the upside for 0.8786 resistance next. Firm break there could bring further rally towards 0.9304 high. Nonetheless, price actions from 0.9304 are seen as a corrective pattern and there is no clear sign of up trend resumption yet. Hence, even in that case, we’ll stay cautious on strong resistance below 0.9304. On the downside, below 0.8413 minor support with turn focus back to 0.8303 instead.
