EUR/CHF Weekly Outlook

EUR/CHF gyrated lower last week as the decline from 1.1713 extended. Outlook remains unchanged that corrective rebound from 1.1366 should have completed with three waves up to 1.1713 already. Deeper fall is expected this week for 1.1478 support first. Break there will confirm our bearish view and target 1.1366 low and below. Nonetheless, on the upside, above 1.1637 minor resistance will turn bias back to the upside and could extend the rise from 1.1366. But even in that case, we’d expect strong resistance from 61.8% retracement of 1.2004 to 1.1366 at 1.1760 to bring near term reversal.

In the bigger picture, 1.2004 is seen as a medium term top with bearish divergence condition in daily and weekly MACD. 1.2000 is also an important resistance level. Hence, the corrective pattern from 1.2004 is expected to extend for a while before completion. We’re not anticipating a break of 1.2004 in near term. Another decline cannot be ruled out yet. But in that case, strong support should be seen at 1.1198 (2016 high), 61.8% retracement of 1.0629 to 1.2004 at 1.1154 to contain downside.

EUR/CHF Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.0814; (P) 1.0827; (R1) 1.0839; More….

Intraday bias in EUR/CHF remains neutral at this point and consolidation from 1.0802 could extend. But overall near term outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.0985 resistance holds, even in case of strong rebound. On the downside, break of 1.0802 will resume the decline from 1.1149 to 1.0737 cluster support next.

In the bigger picture, current development argues that rebound from 1.0505 (2020 low) might be completed with three waves up to 1.1149 already, after hitting 1.1078 long term fibonacci level. On the downside, sustained trading below 55 week EMA (now at 1.0880) will affirm this bearish case. Further break of 1.0737 cluster support (61.8% retracement of 1.0505 to 1.1149 at 1.0751) will bring retest of 1.0505 low.

EUR/CHF Weekly Outlook

EUR/CHF correction from 1.0986 short term top extended last week and dipped to 1.0865. But it few support from 1.0872 support and quickly recovered. Overall outlook is unchanged and initial bias is neutral this week for consolidation. Downside should be contained by 1.0791/0872 support zone to bring rise resumption. As noted before, the consolidative pattern from 1.1198 should be completed. Firm break of 1.0999 resistance will pave the way for a retest on 1.1198 high.

In the bigger picture, the price actions from 1.1198 are seen as a corrective move. Current strong rebound is raising the chance that it’s completed after defending 38.2% retracement of 0.9771 to 1.1198 at 1.0653. Decisive break of 1.0999 resistance will target a test on 1.1198 high. For now, this will be the preferred case as long as 1.0791 support holds.

Intraday bias in EUR/CHF stays mildly on the upside at this point. Sustained break of 100% projection of 0.9970 to 1.0086 from 1.0400 at 1.0516 and 1.0505 will carry larger bullish implications. Next near term target will be 161.8% projection at 1.0782. On the downside, below 1.0400 minor support will turn intraday bias neutral first.

In the bigger picture, as long as 1.0505 support turned resistance (2020 low) holds, long term down trend from 1.2004 (2018 high) is expected to continue. Next target is 100% projection of 1.2004 to 1.0505 to 1.1149 at 0.9650. However, firm break of 1.0505 will suggest medium term bottoming, and bring stronger rebound towards 1.1149 structural resistance.

EUR/CHF Weekly Outlook

EUR/CHF edged higher to 1.1087 last week but quickly lost momentum. Initial bias is neutral this week first for consolidation. Downside of retreat should be contained by 1.0986 cluster support (38.2% retracement of 1.0830 to 1.1087 at 1.0989) and bring rise resumption. Break of 1.1087 will target key resistance at 1.1127/98. However, break of 1.0986/89 will indicate short term topping, possibly on bearish divergence condition in dail MACD. In such case, deeper fall would be seen back to 55 day EMA (now at 1.0918) and below.

In the bigger picture, the price actions from 1.1198 are seen as a corrective move. Such correction could have completed after defending 38.2% retracement of 0.9771 to 1.1198 at 1.0653. Decisive break of 1.1198 will resume the long term rise from SNB spike low back in 2015. In such case, EUR/CHF could eventually head back to prior SNB imposed floor at 1.2000. We’ll favor this bullish case as long as 1.0830 support holds. However, rejection from 1.1198 will extend the multi-year range trading with another fall.

Break of 1.0827 resistance indicates resumption of rise from 1.0661 and intraday bias is back on the upside. As noted before, consolidation pattern from 1.0915 should have completed with three waves to 1.0661. Break of 1.0877 resistance will resume the whole rebound from 1.0503. On the downside, break of 1.0790 support will dampen this bullish case and might extend the consolidation with another decline.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.0503 are still seen as a consolidation pattern. With 1.1059 cluster resistance (38.2% retracement of 1.2004 to 1.0503 at 1.1076) intact, the down trend from 1.2004 (2018 high) would still extend through 1.0503 low at a later stage. However, sustained break of 1.1059/76 will argue that rise from 1.0503 is starting a new up trend and would target 61.8% retracement at 1.1431 and above.

EUR/CHF Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.1209; (P) 1.1233; (R1) 1.1252; More…

EUR/CHF lost downside momentum ahead of 1.1173 low (inside 1.1154/98 key support zone). Intraday bias is turned neutral first. Further decline is mildly in favor as long as 1.1298 minor resistance holds. Decisive break of 1.1154/98 will carry larger bearish implication. On the upside, above 1.1298 minor resistance will turn bias back to the upside for rebound.

In the bigger picture, with last week’s sharp decline, price actions from 1.1173 are now looking more like a consolidation that’s completed at 1.1444. Bearishness is also reflected in multiple rejection by 55 week EMA. Immediate focus is back on 1.1154/98 support zone (2016 high and 61.8% retracement of 1.0629 to 1.2004 at 1.1154). Decisive break there will confirm resumption of whole down trend from 1.2004 and long term bearish reversal. 1.0629 support will be next target.

EUR/CHF Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.0763; (P) 1.0808; (R1) 1.0840; More

EUR/CHF retreated notably after hitting 1.0877 and intraday bias is turned neutral first. Outlook is unchanged that further rise is in favor as long as 1.0721 support holds. Break of 1.0877 will target a test on 1.0915 resistance first. However, break of 1.0721 will suggest completion of the rebound from 1.0602 and turn bias back to the downside.

In the bigger picture, we’re seeing price actions from 1.0503 as forming a consolidation pattern for the moment. As long as 1.1059 cluster resistance (38.2% retracement of 1.2004 to 1.0503 at 1.1076) holds, down from 1.2004 (2018 high) would still extend through 1.0503 low at a later stage. However, sustained break of 1.1059/76 will argue that rise from 1.0503 is starting a new up trend and would target 61.8% retracement at 1.1431 and above.

EUR/CHF recovered after hitting 1.0828 and intraday bias is turned neutral first. Further decline is expected as long as 1.0905 minor resistance holds. Break of 1.0828 will target 1.0811 low. Decisive break there will resume larger down trend. On the upside, break of 1.0905 will turn bias back to the upside for recovery. Overall outlook is unchanged that’s consolidation from 1.0811 might extend. In case of another recovery, upside should be limited by 1.1062 cluster resistance (38.2% retracement of 1.1476 to 1.0811 at 1.1065) to bring larger down trend resumption.

In the bigger picture, down trend from 1.2004 is (2018 high) is still in progress. More importantly, it’s likely a long term down trend itself, rather than a correction. Further fall should be seen to 1.0629 support and possibly below. On the upside, break of 1.1162 support turned resistance is needed to be the first sign of medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish in case of rebound.

EUR/CHF Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.0753; (P) 1.0771; (R1) 1.0793; More….

Intraday bias in EUR/CHF stays neutral at this point. Another fall is expected as long as 1.0799 minor resistance holds. Current development argues that consolidation pattern from 1.0915 is extending with another falling leg. Below 1.0735 will target 1.0661 support. On the upside, however, firm break of 1.0799 will bring retest of 1.0871 resistance instead.

EUR/CHF Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 1.0535; (P) 1.0558; (R1) 1.0586; More

EUR/CHF’s rebound from 1.0503 extends higher today and intraday bias stays on the upside. At this point, we’d still expect upside to be limited 1.0653 resistance to bring fall resumption. On the downside, break of 1.0554 minor support will bring retest of 1.0503 low first. Break will target 100% projection of 1.1476 to 1.0811 from 1.1059 at 1.0394.

In the bigger picture, down trend from 1.2004 is (2018 high) is still in progress for parity next. In any case, outlook will remain bearish as long as 1.0653 resistance holds. However, considering bullish convergence condition in daily MACD, firm break of 1.0653 resistance will indicate medium term bottoming. Strong rebound would then be seen back to 1.0811/1059 resistance zone.

EUR/CHF Weekly Outlook

EUR/CHF rebounded strongly after initial fall to 0.9704 last week. Initial bias stays neutral this week first. But risk will stay on the downside as long as 55 day EMA (now at 0.9899) holds. Rebound 0.9407 could have completed at 1.0095 already. Below 0.9711 will target 61.8% retracement of 0.9407 to 1.0095 at 0.9670. Firm break there will bring deeper fall to retest 0.9407 low. However, sustained trading above 55 day EMA will bring stronger rise back to retest 1.0095 instead.

In the bigger picture, rejection by 55 week EMA (now at 1.0011) and 38.2% retracement of 1.1149 to 0.9407 at 1.0072 suggests that medium term outlook is staying bearish. That is, down trend from 1.2004 is not completed yet and is in favor to resume through 0.9407 at a later stage. For now, this will be the favored case as long as 1.0095 resistance holds.

In the long term picture, it’s still way too early too call for bullish trend reversal with upside capped well below 55 month EMA and 1.0505 support turned resistance (2020 low). The multi-decade down trend could still continue.

EUR/CHF’s rise from 0.9470 is still in progress and intraday bias stays on the upside. Next target is 100% projection of 0.9407 to 0.9798 from 0.9641 at 1.0032. On the downside, break of 0.9818 minor support will turn intraday bias neutral and bring consolidations first. But retreat should contained above 0.9641 support to bring rebound.

In the bigger picture, considering bullish condition in daily MACD and the firm break of 55 day EMA, a medium term bottom should be in place at 0.9407. Further rally is expected as long as 0.9641 support holds, even as a corrective rebound. Next target 38.2% retracement of 1.1149 to 0.9407 at 1.0072. Reaction from there, as well as 55 week EMA (now at 1.0120) will reveal whether the trend is reversing.

No change in EUR/CHF’s outlook. With 1.1584 support intact, outlook remains bullish. Current medium term rise from 1.0629 would extend to 1.2 key level. However, considering bearish divergence condition in 4 hour MACD, firm break of 1.1584 will now indicate near term reversal and should bring pull back to 1.1355 support or below.

In the bigger picture, long term rise from SNB spike low back in 2015 is still in progress. EUR/CHF should now be heading back to prior SNB imposed floor at 1.2000. For now, this will be the favored case as long as 1.1355 support holds. However, break of 1.1355 will indicate medium term topping. In that case, EUR/CHF should head back to 55 week EMA (now at 1.1142) and possibly below.

Intraday bias in EUR/CHF remains neutral as consolidation from 1.1162 temporary low is extending. For now, further decline is expected as long as 1.1256 minor resistance holds. Decisive break of 1.1154 key fibonacci level will confirm resumption of whole downtrend from 1.2004. That should then pave the way to 61.8% projection of 1.2004 to 1.1173 from 1.1444 at 1.0930. However, break of 1.1256 will indicate short term bottoming and turn back to the upside for 1.1310 support turned resistance first.

In the bigger picture, multiple rejection by 55 week EMA indicates medium term bearishness. Focus remains on 1.1154/98 support zone (2016 high and 61.8% retracement of 1.0629 to 1.2004 at 1.1154). Decisive break there will confirm resumption of whole down trend from 1.2004 and long term bearish reversal. EUR/CHF should then target 1.0629 support and below. This will now remain the favored case as long as 1.1444 resistance holds.

In the bigger picture, a medium term bottom should be in place at 0.9407. Further rally is expected as long as 0.9641 support holds, even as a corrective rebound. Next target 38.2% retracement of 1.1149 to 0.9407 at 1.0072. Reaction from there, as well as 55 week EMA (now at 1.0121) will reveal whether the trend is reversing.

EUR/CHF continues to lose upside momentum as seen with 4 hour MACD crossed below signal line. But further rise cannot be ruled out with 1.0886 minor support intact. Even so, upside should be limited by 1.1062 cluster resistance (38.2% retracement of 1.1476 to 1.0811 at 1.1605 to bring fall resumption. On the downside, below 1.0886 minor support will turn bias to the downside for retesting 1.0811 low first.

In the bigger picture, down trend from 1.2004 is (2018 high) still in progress.

EUR/CHF’s break of 1.0925 suggests short term bottoming at 1.0863. Intraday bias is turned to the upside for stronger rebound. But outlook will stay bearish as long as 1.1026 resistance holds. Break of 1.0863 will resume the decline from 1.1149, to next cluster support zone at 1.0737, (61.8% retracement of 1.0505 to 1.1149 at 1.0751).

In the bigger picture, current development argues that rebound from 1.0505 might be completed at 1.1149 already. Rejection by 55 month EMA (now at 1.1077) at least keeps medium term bearishness open. Sustained break of 1.0737 support will argue that the down trend from 2004 (2018 high) is ready to resume through 1.0505 low. Sustained trading below 55 week EMA (now at 1.0879) will affirm this bearish case.

EUR/CHF’s fall from 1.0512 is still in progress and further decline should be seen to retest 0.9970 low. Decisive break there will resume larger down trend. On the upside, however, above 1.0214 minor resistance will delay the bearish case, and turn bias back to the upside for stronger rebound.

Breach of 1.0902 minor resistance argues that the correction from 1.0986 could have completed at 1.0836 already. Intraday bias is turned back to the upside for retesting 1.0986/0999 resistance zone. Below 1.0836 will extend the correction. Still, we’d expect strong support from 1.0791/0872 support zone to bring rebound.

In the bigger picture, the price actions from 1.1198 are seen as a corrective move. Such correction could have completed after defending 38.2% retracement of 0.9771 to 1.1198 at 1.0653. Decisive break of 1.0999 resistance will target a test on 1.1198 high. For now, this will be the preferred case as long as 1.0791 support holds.
