Intraday bias in EUR/AUD is turned neutral first with break of 1.5773 minor support. Some consolidations could be seen but further rally will remain in favor as long as 1.5441 support holds. Break of 1.5976 will resume larger rise from 1.4281 to 61.8% projection of 1.4281 to 1.5704 from 1.5271 at 1.6150.

In the bigger picture, strong support from 55 day and 55 week EMA affirms underlying bullishness. As long as 1.5271 support holds, rise from 1.4281 medium term bottom is expected to continue to 1.6434 key resistance next. Decisive break there should confirm medium term bullish trend reversal.

EUR/AUD is staying in range below 1.6039 and intraday bias remains neural first. More consolidation could be seen. But still, further rise is expected as long as 1.5791 support holds. Break of 1.6039 will resume larger rally to 61.8% projection of 1.5130 to 1.5976 from 1.5621 at 1.6130 first. Break there will target 100% projection at 1.6444 next. However, break of 1.5791 minor support will be an early sign of near term reversal. In such case, focus will be turned back to 1.5621 support.

In the bigger picture, current development suggests that rise from 1.3624 is not completed yet. And it’s still in progress for 1.6587 key resistance level. We’d be cautious on strong resistance from there to limit upside, on bearish divergence condition in daily MACD. But for now, break of 1.5153 support is needed to indicate medium term reversal. Otherwise, outlook will stays bullish even in case of deep pull back.

In case of another rise, upside should be limited by 38.2% retracement of 1.6827 to 1.5250 at 1.5852. On the downside, break of 1.5234 will bring retest of 1.5250 low. Overall, down trend from 1.9799 is expected to resume after consolidation from 1.5250 completes.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.9799 are developing into a deep correction, to long term up trend from 1.1602 (2012 low). Deeper fall would be seen to 61.8% retracement of 1.1602 to 1.9799 at 1.4733. EUR/AUD’s recovery continues today but is limited well below 1.6154 resistance. Intraday bias remains neutral and further decline is still expected. On the downside, break of 1.5774 will resume the fall from 1.6765 and target 1.5346 key support. However, break of 1.6154 will turn intraday bias back to the upside for retesting 1.6765 instead.

In the bigger picture, the failure to sustain above 1.6587 key resistance (2015 high) argues that up trend from 1.1602 (2012 low) is not ready to resume yet. But still, as long as 1.5346 support holds, outlook will remain bullish. Break of 1.6765 will target 61.8% retracement of 2.1127 (2008 high) to 1.1602 at 1.7488 next. However, firm break of 1.5346 key support will indicate trend reversal, with bearish divergence condition in weekly MACD, and turn outlook bearish.

Intraday bias in EUR/AUD remains neutral as consolidation from 1.5656 continues. Downside of retreat should be contained by 4 hour 55 EMA (now at 1.5456) and bring rise resumption. Above 1.5656 will extend the rally from 1.3624 and target 61.8% projection of 1.3624 to 1.5226 from 1.4949 at 1.5939 first. Nonetheless, sustained break of 4 hour 55 EMA will bring deeper fall back towards 1.5079 support instead.

In the bigger picture, we’re holding on to the view that corrective decline from 1.6587 medium term top (2015 high) has completed at 1.3624. Rise from 1.3624 is expected to extend to retest 1.6587. We’ll hold on to this bullish view as long as 1.5226 resistance turned support holds. Firm break of 1.6587 will resume long term rise from 1.1602 (2012 low).

Correction from 1.6785 could also have completed with three waves down, after hitting 100% projection of 1.6785 to 1.6134 from 1.6513 at 1.5862. Intraday bias will be turned back to the upside for 1.6513 resistance next.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 1.6785 are seen as a correction to up trend from 1.4281 (2022 low) only. Strong support should be seen around 38.2% retracement of 1.4281 to 1.6785 at 1.5828 to complete the first leg and bring rebound. However, sustained trading below 1.5828 will raise the chance of trend reversal and target 61.8% retracement at 1.5238.

EUR/AUD Weekly Outlook

EUR/AUD’s up trend continued last week. Disregarding the initial spike, it still reached as high as 1.8109. Initial bias remains on the upside this week. In the bigger picture, rally from 1.3624 (2017 low) should have completed at 1.6189 already, ahead of 1.6587 key resistance (2015 high). 1.6189 is seen as a medium term top. Deeper fall would be seen to 38.2% retracement of 1.3624 to 1.6189 at 1.5209 first. Decisive break there will pave the way to 61.8% retracement at 1.4604. In that case, we’ll look for bottoming again below 1.4604. On the upside, firm break of 1.5773 support turned resistance is needed to indicate completion of the fall from 1.6189. In the bigger picture, rise from 1.5354 is seen as the third leg of the corrective pattern from 1.5250 low. Further rise cannot be ruled out, but even in that case, strong resistance should be seen at 38.2% retracement of 1.9799 to 1.5250 at 1.6988. Larger down trend from 1.9799 is in favor to extend through 1.5250 at a later stage.

EUR/AUD Weekly Outlook

EUR/AUD edged higher to 1.5976 last week but reversed from there. A short term top is at least formed on bearish divergence condition in 4 hour MACD. Initial bias remains on the downside this week for a 1.5626 support. Based on current momentum, break of 1.5626 will pave the way to 61.8% retracement of 1.5153 to 1.5976 at 1.5467 and below. On the upside above 1.5787 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral first. But risk will for now stay on the downside as long as 1.5976 resistance holds.

In the bigger picture, change of medium term reversal is increasing with EUR/AUD just missing double projection target. They are 61.8% projection of 1.4421 to 1.5770 from 1.5153 at 1.5987, and 100% projection of 1.3624 to 1.5226 from 1.4421at 1.6023. Also, bearish divergence condition remains in daily MACD. Break of 1.5626 support will add to this bearish case and target 1.5153 key support for confirmation. Nonetheless, before that happens, as long as 1.5153 support holds, medium term rise from 1.3624 could still extend to retest 1.6587 high.

In the longer term picture, the rise from 1.1602 long term bottom (2012 low) isn’t over yet. We’ll keep monitoring the development but there is prospect of extending the rise to 61.8% retracement of 2.1127 to 1.1602 at 1.7488 and above. However, sustained trading below 1.3671 should indicate long term reversal and target 1.1602 long term bottom again.

Overall, we’d expect the up trend from 1.1602 to resume later. However, sustained break of 1.3671 will invalidate our bullish view and would turn extend the fall from 1.6587 towards 1.1602 long term bottom.
