AUD/USD is staying in consolidation fro 0.8038 and intraday bias remains neutral. As long as 0.7874 support holds, further rally should be seen to 0.8124 high. Break there will resume whole medium term rebound from 0.6826 and target key fibonacci level at 0.8451. On the downside, break of 0.7874 will indicate short term topping and turn bias to the downside for 55 day EMA (now at 0.7781) and below.

In the bigger picture, current development suggests that medium term rebound from 0.6826 is still in progress and could be resuming. Such rise could target 38.2% retracement of 1.1079 (2011 high) to 0.6826 (2016 low) at 0.8451. As such rise is seen as a corrective move, we’d expect strong resistance from 0.8451 to limit upside and bring reversal.

AUD/USD’s retreat suggests that a temporary top is formed at 0.7988 after hitting 61.8% projection of 0.6826 to 0.7833 from 0.7328 at 0.7950. Intraday bias is turned neutral for consolidation. Near term outlook will remain bullish as long as 0.7785 support holds and another rise is expected. Break of 0.7988 will target 100% projection at 0.8335 next.

In the bigger picture, current development suggests that rebound from 0.6826 is developing into a medium term rise. There is no confirmation of trend reversal yet and we’ll continue to treat such rebound as a corrective pattern. But in any case, further rise is now expected to 55 month EMA (now at 0.8100) or even further to 38.2% retracement of 1.1079 to 0.6826 at 0.8451. Break of 0.7328 support is needed to confirm completion of the rebound. Otherwise, further rise is now expected.

AUD/USD’s strong rebound and break of 0.7652 indicates short term bottoming at 0.7500, on bullish convergence condition in 4 hour MACD. Intraday bias is now on the upside for further rise. However, we’d expect strong resistance from 0.7732 cluster resistance (38.2% retracement of 0.8124 to 0.7500 at 0.77385) to limit upside to bring fall resumption. Below 0.7579 minor support will turn bias to the downside for 0.7500 and believe. However, sustained break of 0.7732 should invalidate our bearish view and bring stronger rise through 61.8% retracement at 0.7886.

In the bigger picture, corrective rise from 0.6826 medium term bottom is likely completed at 0.8124, after hitting 55 month EMA (now at 0.8029). Decisive break of 0.7328 key cluster support (61.8% retracement 0.6826 to 0.8124 at 0.7322) will confirm. And in that case, long term down trend from 1.1079 (2011 high) will likely be resuming. Break of 0.6826 will target 61.8% projection of 1.1079 to 0.6826 from 0.8124 at 0.5496. This will now be the favored case as long as 0.7732 near term resistance holds.

Further rise remains mildly in favor in AUD/USD for 0.7748 resistance and above. There is no clear sign of range breakout yet. So, we’ll be cautious on topping again as it approaches medium term fibonacci level at 0.7849. Meanwhile, break of 0.7523 will argue that rebound from 0.7328 is possibly completed. In that case, intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for 0.7370 support.

In the bigger picture, we’re still treating price actions from 0.6826 low as a corrective pattern. And, as long as 38.2% retracement of 0.9504 to 0.6826 at 0.7849 holds, long term down trend from 1.1079 is expected to resume sooner or later. Break of 0.6826 low will target 0.6008 key support level. However, firm break of 0.7849 will indicate that rise from 0.6826 is developing into a medium term rebound, rather than a sideway pattern. In such case, stronger rise should be seen to 55 month EMA (now at 0.8091) and above.

Intraday bias in AUD/USD remains on the downside as fall from 0.7477 is extending. Deeper fall would be seen to retest 0.7105 low first. Firm break there will resume whole decline from 0.8006 for 0.6991 support next. On the upside, above 0.7320 minor resistance will turn bias back to the upside for 0.7477 resistance instead.

In the bigger picture, with 0.6991 cluster support (38.2% retracement of 0.5506 to 0.8006 at 0.7051) intact, we’re seeing price action from 0.8006 as a correction only. That is, up trend from 0.5506 low would resume after the correction completes. In that case, main focus will be 0.8135 key resistance (2018 high). Sustained break there will carry larger bullish implications. However, sustained break of 0.6991 will argue that the whole medium term trend has indeed reversed.

AUD/USD retreated quickly after edging higher to 0.6937. Intraday bias remains neutral first. On the upside, above 0.6937 will resume the rebound from 0.6680 to 55 day EMA (now at 0.6967). Sustained break there will target 0.7282 structural resistance next. On the downside, however, below 0.6801 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for retesting 0.6680 low instead.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 0.8006 could still be a corrective pattern to rise from 0.5506 (2020 low). But current downside acceleration is raising the chance that it’s a bearish impulsive move. In either case, outlook will remain bearish as long as 0.7282 resistance holds. Next target is 61.8% retracement of 0.5506 to 0.8006 at 0.6461.

AUD/USD is staying in correction from 0.8006. On the upside, above 0.7848 will bring retest of 0.8006 high. However, break of 0.7629 support will resume the fall from 0.8006. Firm break of 0.7563 will indicate that deeper correction is underway, back towards 0.7413 resistance turned support.

In the bigger picture, whole down trend from 1.1079 (2001 high) should have completed at 0.5506 (2020 low) already. Rise from 0.5506 could either be the start of a long term up trend, or a corrective rise. Reactions to 0.8135 key resistance will reveal which case it is. But upside of recovery should be limited well below 0.6750 resistance to bring fall resumption. On the downside, firm break of 0.6581 will resume recent decline.

In the bigger picture, AUD/USD’s decline from 0.8135 (2018 high) is still in progress. It’s part of the larger down trend from 1.1079 (2011 high). Rejection by 55 week EMA affirms medium term bearishness. Next target is 0.6008 (2008 low). Outlook will stay bearish as long as 0.7031 resistance holds, even in case of strong rebound.

Intraday bias in AUD/USD remains neutral for consolidation below 0.7635 temporary top. As long as 0.7523 support holds, further rise is expected. On the downside, break of 0.7673 will suggest that correction from 0.8006 is extending with another falling leg. Intraday bias will be turned back to the downside for 0.7530 support and possibly below.

AUD/USD Weekly Outlook

AUD/USD turned into consolidation below 0.8124 last week. Initial bias remains neutral first. With 0.7807 support intact, outlook stays bullish for another rally. Above 0.8124 will target 100% projection of 0.6826 to 0.7833 from 0.7328 at 0.8335 next. However, considering bearish divergence condition in 4 hour MACD, firm break of 0.7807 will indicate near term reversal and turn bias back to the downside for 0.7328 key support.

In the bigger picture, rise from 0.6826 medium term bottom is still in progress. At this point, there is no confirmation of trend reversal yet and we’ll continue to treat such rebound as a corrective pattern. But in any case, break of 55 month EMA (now at 0.8090) will target 38.2% retracement of 1.1079 to 0.6826 at 0.8451. Break of 0.7807 support is needed to to be the first sign of completion of the rebound. Otherwise, further rise is now in favor.

In the longer term picture, 0.6826 is seen as a long term bottom. Rise from there could either reverse the down trend from 1.1079, or just develop into a corrective pattern. At this point, we’re favoring the latter. And, as long as 38.2% retracement of 1.1079 to 0.6826 at 0.8451 holds, we’d anticipate another decline through 0.6826 at a later stage.

Intraday bias in AUD/USD remains neutral with focus on 0.7116 minor support. Break there will suggest completion of rebound from 0.6722. Intraday bias will then be turned back to the downside for retesting this low. On the upside, above 0.7235 will extend the rebound towards 0.7393 resistance. We’d expect strong resistance from there to limit upside.

In the bigger picture, the failure to sustain below 0.6826 (2016 low) suggests that the long term down trend is not ready to resume yet. But prior rejection by 55 week EMA indicates underlying medium term bearishness in the pair. Outlook will also stay bearish as long as 0.7393 resistance holds. AUD/USD’s rebound from 0.7500 is still in progress. But for the moment, we’d still expect upside to be limited by 0.7732/8 cluster resistance (38.2% retracement of 0.8124 to 0.7500 at 0.7738). On the downside, break of 0.7653 minor support will turn bias to the downside for retesting 0.7500. However, sustained break of 0.7732 should invalidate our bearish view and bring stronger rise through 61.8% retracement at 0.7886.

In the bigger picture, corrective rise from 0.6826 medium term bottom is likely completed at 0.8124, after hitting 55 month EMA (now at 0.8034).
