AUD/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.7183; (P) 0.7226; (R1) 0.7248; More…

Intraday bias in AUD/USD remains on the downside for 0.7143 support. As noted before, whole corrective rebound from 0.7084 has completed at 0.7314. Break of 0.7143 will likely resume larger down trend from 0.8135 through 0.7084 low. On the upside, in case of another rise, upside should be limited below 0.7361 resistance to complete the correction and bring down trend resumption.

In the bigger picture, rebound from 0.6826 (2016 low) is seen as a corrective move that should be completed at 0.8135. Fall from there would extend to have a test on 0.6826. There is prospect of resuming long term down trend from 1.1079 (2011 high). Current downside momentum as seen in weekly MACD support this bearish case. Firm break of 0.6826 will target 0.6008 key support next (2008 low). On the upside, break of 0.7361 resistance, however, argues that a medium term bottom is possibly in place, and stronger rebound could follow. We’ll assess the medium term outlook later if this happens.

AUD/USD Mid-Day Report

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.6735; (P) 0.6744; (R1) 0.6755; More...

Intraday bias in AUD/USD remains on the upside as current rally continues to 61.8% projection of 0.6361 to 0.6713 from 0.6619 at 0.6837. Decisive break there could prompt upside acceleration through 0.6870 resistance to 100% projection at 0.6971. For now, risk will stay on the upside as long as 0.6723 minor support holds, in case of retreat.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 0.6169 (2022 low) are seen as a medium term corrective pattern to the down trend from 0.8006 (2021 high). Fall from 0.7156 (2023 high) is seen as the second leg, which could have completed at 0.6269 already. Rise from there is seen as the third leg. Break of 0.6870 will target 100% projection of 0.6269 to 0.6870 from 0.6361 at 0.6962.

AUD/USD Daily Report

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.6698; (P) 0.6720; (R1) 0.6761; More…

Intraday bias in AUD/USD remains neutral for consolidation above 0.6678 temporary low. Upside of recovery should be limited by 0.6777 resistance to bring fall resumption. On the downside, decisive break of 0.6670 low will confirm resumption of larger down trend. Next target will be 0.6008 key support. Nevertheless, firm break of 0.6777 will indicate short term bottoming and extend the consolidation pattern form 0.6670 with another near term rise.

In the bigger picture, AUD/USD’s decline from 0.8135 (2018 high) is still in progress. It’s part of the larger down trend from 1.1079 (2011 high). Next target is 0.6008 (2008 low). This will remain the favor case as long as 0.7031 resistance holds.

AUD/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.7199; (P) 0.7219; (R1) 0.7239; More…

Intraday bias in AUD/USD remains neutral and another decline is mildly in favor with 0.7259 minor resistance intact. Decisive break of 1.7199 support will suggest that the corrective rebound from 0.7020 has completed earlier than expected. Deeper fall should then be seen back to retest 0.7020 low. On the upside, above 0.7259 minor resistance will turn bias back to the upside. In that case, corrective rise from 0.7020 would extend to 38.2% retracement of 0.8135 to 0.7020 at 0.7446 before completion.

In the bigger picture, a medium term bottom is in place at 0.7020 ahead of 0.6826 key support (2016 low). Stronger rebound might be seen to correct the whole fall from 0.8135 high. But we’d expect strong resistance from 0.7500 support turned resistance to limit upside. Medium term fall from 0.8135 should resume and extend to take on 0.6826 low at a later stage, after the correction from 0.7020 completes.

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.6336; (P) 0.6390; (R1) 0.6419; More…

AUD/USD’s breach of 0.6330 support indicates resumption of recent down trend. Intraday bias is back on the downside. Current fall from 0.7156 should target 100% projection of 0.7156 to 0.6457 from 0.6894 at 0.6195. On the upside, break of 0.6500 resistance is needed to indicate short term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will stay bearish in case of recovery.

In the bigger picture, down trend from 0.8006 (2021 high) is possibly still in progress. Decisive break of 0.6169 will target 61.8% projection of 0.8006 to 0.6169 to 0.7156 at 0.6021. This will now remain the favored case as long as 0.6894, in case of strong rebound.

Intraday bias in AUD/USD remains neutral first and outlook stays bearish. On the downside, decisive break of 0.6680 will resume larger down trend. Next target will be 0.6461 long term fibonacci level. On the upside, above 0.6769 minor resistance will turn bias back to the upside for 0.6915 resistance instead.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 0.8006 (2021 high) is seen more as a corrective pattern to rise from 0.5506 (2020 low). Or it could also be a bearish impulsive move. In either case, outlook will remain bearish as long as 0.7135 resistance holds. Next target is 61.8% retracement of 0.5506 to 0.8006 at 0.6461.

AUD/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.7127; (P) 0.7160; (R1) 0.7204; More…

Intraday bias in AUD/USD remains mildly on the upside for the moment. Rebound from 0.7003 is in progress for 0.7206 resistance first. Break will likely resume larger rebound from 0.6722 through 0.7295 resistance. On the downside, though, break of 0.7115 minor support will turn intraday bias back to the downside for 0.7003/7052 support zone instead.

In the bigger picture, break of medium term channel resistance is the first sign of bullish reversal. But there is no confirmation yet. As long as 0.7393 resistance holds, larger fall from 0.8135 is still expected to resume later. Such decline is seen as resuming long term down trend from 1.1079 (2011 high). Decisive break of 0.6826 (2016 low) will confirm this bearish view and resume the down trend to 0.6008 (2008 low). However, firm break of 0.7393 will argue that fall from 0.8135 has completed. And corrective pattern from 0.6826 has started the third leg, targeting 0.8135 again.

Intraday bias in AUD/USD stays neutral and outlook remains bearish with 0.6398 resistance intact. On the downside, break of 0.6269 will resume larger fall from 0.7156 to 100% projection of 0.7156 to 0.6457 from 0.6894 at 0.6195, which is close to 0.6169 medium term support.

AUD/USD recovered after hitting 0.6838 but stays well below 0.6938 resistance. Intraday bias remains neutral first. For now, further rally will remain in favor as long as 0.6838 holds. On the upside, above 0.6938 will extend the rebound from 0.6670 to 100% projection of 0.6670 to 0.6929 from 0.6754 at 0.7013 next. However, break of 0.6838 will turn bias back to the downside for 0.6754 support instead.

In the bigger picture, with 0.7082 resistance intact, there is no clear confirmation of trend reversal yet. That is, down trend from 0.8135 (2018 high) is still expect to continue to 0.6008 (2008 low). However, decisive break of 0.7082 will confirm medium term bottoming and bring stronger rally back to 55 month EMA (now at 0.7502).

With 4 hour MACD crossed below signal line, a temporary top is in place at 0.7295 and intraday bias is turned neutral. Another rise is mildly in favor with 0.7180 minor support intact. Above 0.7295 will target 0.7393 cluster resistance (61.8% projection of 0.6722 to 0.7235 from 0.7076 at 0.7393). We’d expect strong resistance from there to limit upside to complete the rebound. On the downside, break of 0.7180 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for 0.7076 support. However, sustained break of 0.7393 will indicate near term reversal and target 100% projection at 0.7589 next).

In the bigger picture, the failure to sustain below 0.6826 (2016 low) suggests that the long term down trend is not ready to resume yet. But prior rejection by 55 week EMA indicates underlying medium term bearishness in the pair. Outlook will also bearish as long as 0.7393 resistance holds. On the downside, sustained break of 0.6826 will target 0.6008 (2008 low).

AUD/USD’s rise from 0.6680 resumed after brief retreat and intraday bias remains on the upside. Sustained trading above 55 day EMA (now at 0.6965) will pave the way to 0.7282 resistance next. On the downside, however, break of 0.6858 minor support will argue that the rebound from 0.6910 is over. Intraday bias will then be back on the downside for retesting 0.6680 low.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 0.8006 (2021 high) could still be a corrective pattern to rise from 0.5506 (2020 low). But current downside acceleration, as seen in weekly MACD), is raising the chance that it’s a bearish impulsive move. In either case, outlook will remain bearish as long as 0.7282 resistance holds. Next target is 61.8% retracement of 0.5506 to 0.8006 at 0.6461.

AUD/USD’s fall from 0.7135 is in progress and intraday bias stays on the downside. As noted before, corrective rebound from 0.6680 could have completed with three waves up to 0.7135. Retest of 0.6680 should be seen next. Firm break there will resume larger down trend. However, break of 0.7008 will turn bias back to the upside for 0.7135 resistance instead.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 0.8006 (2021 high) is seen more as a corrective pattern to rise from 0.5506 (2020 low). Or it could also be a bearish impulsive move. In either case, outlook will remain bearish as long as 0.7282 resistance holds. Next target is 61.8% retracement of 0.5506 to 0.8006 at 0.6461.

Break of 0.6482 minor support argues that rebound from 0.6361 has completed importantly, fall from 0.6870 might not be over yet. Intraday bias is back on the downside for retesting 0.6361 low next. On the upside, above 0.6513 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral again first.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 0.6169 (2022 low) are seen as a medium term corrective pattern to the down trend from 0.8006 (2021 high). Fall from 0.7156 (2023 high) is seen as the second leg, which is still in progress. Overall, sideway trading could continue in range of 0.6169/7156 for some more time. But as long as 0.7156 holds, an eventual downside breakout would be mildly in favor.

Break of 0.7452 support suggests that short term topping at 0.7555. Intraday bias in AUD/USD is turned back to the downside for 55 day EMA (now at 0.7393). Sustained break there will argue that rebound from 0.7105 is complete with three waves up to 0.7555. That would also argue that fall from 0.8006 is ready to resume through 0.7105 low. On the upside, break of 0.7555 will turn bias back to the upside and resume the rebound instead.

In the bigger picture, with 0.6991 cluster support (38.2% retracement of 0.5506 to 0.8006 at 0.7051) intact, we’re seeing price action from 0.8006 as a correction only. That is, up trend from 0.5506 low would resume after the correction completes. In that case, main focus will be 0.8135 key resistance (2018 high). Sustained break there will carry larger bullish implications. However, sustained break of 0.6991 will argue that the whole medium term trend has indeed reversed.

AUD/USD Daily Outlook

AUD/USD is staying in tight range between 0.7405/7516 and intraday bias remains neutral first. Again, as long as 0.7555 resistance holds, fall from 0.7748 is still expected to continue. Below 0.7405 minor support will turn bias to the downside for 0.7382. Break there will target 0.7144/7158 support zone. However, firm break of 0.7555 will argue that fall from 0.7748 is completed and turn bias back to the upside.

In the bigger picture, we’re still treating price actions from 0.6826 low as a corrective pattern. And, as long as 38.2% retracement of 0.9504 to 0.6826 at 0.7849 holds, long term down trend from 1.1079 is expected to resume sooner or later. Break of 0.6826 low will target 0.6008 key support level. However, firm break of 0.7849 will indicate that rise from 0.6826 is developing into a medium term rebound, rather than a sideway pattern. In such case, stronger rise should be seen to 55 month EMA (now at 0.8115) and above.

AUD/USD is losing some upside momentum, but further rise is expected with 0.7034 support intact. Firm break of 0.7265 resistance will raise the chance of larger trend reversal and target 0.7760 structural resistance next. On the downside, however, break of 0.7034 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for retesting 0.6828 low instead.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 0.8006 are seen as a corrective pattern to rise from 0.5506 (2020 low). Deeper fall could be seen to 50% retracement of 0.5506 to 0.8006 at 0.6756. This coincides with 100% projection of 0.8006 to 0.7105 from 0.7660 at 0.6760. Strong support is expected from 0.6756/60 cluster to contain downside to complete the correction. Meanwhile, firm break of 0.7660 resistance will confirm that such corrective pattern has completed, and larger up trend is ready to resume.

AUD/USD’s rebound from 0.6677 resumed by breaking 0.6822 resistance and hits as high as 06847 so far. Intraday bias is back on the upside for 0.6910 resistance next. Break will target 0.7082 key structure resistance. On the downside, though, break of 0.6807 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for retesting 0.6677 low instead.

In the bigger picture, decline from 0.8135 (2018 high) is seen as resuming the long term down trend from 1.1079 (2011 high). Next target is 0.6008 (2008 low). On the upside, break of 0.7082 resistance is needed to be the first sign of medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish even in case of strong rebound.

Intraday bias in AUD/USD is turned neutral for consolidation above 0.7758 temporary low. But further decline is expected as long as 0.7909 resistance holds. Below 0.7758 will target 0.7500 key support. At this point, there is no clearly sign of larger trend reversal yet. Hence, we’d look for strong support from 0.7500 to contain downside and bring rebound. On the upside, above 0.7909 minor resistance will turn bias back to the upside for retesting 0.8135 high.

In the bigger picture, medium term rebound from 0.6826 is seen as a corrective move. It might still extend higher but we’d expect strong resistance from 38.2% retracement of 1.1079 to 0.6826 at 0.8451 to limit upside to bring long term down trend resumption. On the downside, break of 0.7500 support will now be an important signal that such corrective rebound is completed.

AUD/USD lost some upside momentum with 4 hour MACD crossed below signal line. But with 0.7956 minor support intact, further rise is expected. On the downside, break of 0.7956 support will indicate short term topping and turn bias to the downside.

In the bigger picture, current development suggests that medium term rebound from 0.6826 is still in progress and could be resuming. Such rise could target 38.2% retracement of 1.1079 (2011 high) to 0.6826 (2016 low) at 0.8451. As such rise is seen as a corrective move, we’d expect strong resistance from 0.8451 to limit upside and bring reversal.
