AUD/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.6906; (P) 0.6923; (R1) 0.6933; More…

No change in AUD/USD’s outlook as consolidation from 0.6864 is extending. Intraday bias remains neutral for the moment. In case of stronger recovery, upside should be limited by 0.6988 support turned resistance to bring fall resumption. On the downside, break of 0.6864 resume the fall from 0.7295 to 161.8% projection of 0.7295 to 0.7003 from 0.7205 at 0.6733, which is close to 0.6722 low.

In the bigger picture, with 0.7393 key resistance intact, medium term outlook remains bearish. The decline from 0.8135 (2018 high) is seen as resuming long term down trend from 1.1079 (2011 high). Decisive break of 0.6826 (2016 low) will confirm this bearish view and resume the down trend to 0.6008 (2008 low). However, firm break of 0.7393 will argue that fall from 0.8135 has completed. And corrective pattern from 0.6826 has started the third leg, targeting 0.8135 again.

Intraday bias in AUD/USD remains neutral for the moment. For now, further rally will remain in favor as long as 0.6838 holds. On the upside, above 0.6938 will extend the rebound from 0.6670 to 100% projection of 0.6670 to 0.6929 from 0.6754 at 0.7013 next. However, break of 0.6838 will turn bias back to the downside for 0.6754 support instead.

In the bigger picture, with 0.7082 resistance intact, there is no clear confirmation of trend reversal yet. That is, down trend from 0.8135 (2018 high) is still expect to continue to 0.6008 (2008 low). However, decisive break of 0.7082 will confirm medium term bottoming and bring stronger rally back to 55 month EMA (now at 0.7502).

Intraday bias in AUD is turned neutral as recovery from 1.6810 extends. Risk will stay mildly on the downside as long as 0.7028 resistance holds. Below 0.6180 will resume the corrective fall from 0.7156, and target 100% projection of 0.6854 to 0.7028 from 0.6854 at 0.6736, which is close to 0.6721 key structural support. Strong support is expected there to bring rebound.

In the bigger picture, corrective decline from 0.8006 (2021 high) should have completed with three waves down to 0.6169 (2022 low). Further rally should be seen to 61.8% retracement of 0.8006 to 0.6169 at 0.7304. Sustained break there will pave the way to retest 0.8006. This will now remain the favored case as long as 0.6721 support holds.

AUD/USD’s break of 0.6813 minor support suggests that rebound from 0.6754 has completed at 0.6862. Intraday bias is turned back to the downside for 0.6754 first. Break will resume the decline form 0.6929 to retest 0.6670 low. On the upside, above 0.6862 will turn bias back to the upside for 0.6929 resistance instead.

In the bigger picture, with 0.7082 resistance intact, there is no clear confirmation of trend reversal yet. That is, down trend from 0.8135 (2018 high) is still expect to continue to 0.6008 (2008 low). However, decisive break of 0.7082 will confirm medium term bottoming and bring stronger rally back to 55 month EMA (now at 0.7525).

AUD/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.7960; (P) 0.7995; (R1) 0.8033; More…

Intraday bias in AUD/USD remains neutral as consolidation from 0.8038 is extending. As long as 0.7874 support holds, further rally should be seen to 0.8124 high. Break there will resume whole medium term rebound from 0.6826 and target key fibonacci level at 0.8451. On the downside, break of 0.7874 will indicate short term topping and turn bias to the downside for 55 day EMA (now at 0.7797) and below.

In the bigger picture, current development suggests that medium term rebound from 0.6826 is still in progress and could be resuming. Such rise could target 38.2% retracement of 1.1079 (2011 high) to 0.6826 (2016 low) at 0.8451. As such rise is seen as a corrective move, we’d expect strong resistance from 0.8451 to limit upside and bring reversal.

Intraday bias in AUD/USD remains neutral for the moment and further rise is expected with 0.7676 support intact. Above 0.7815 will target 0.7848 resistance first. Break there should confirm that correction from 0.8006 has completed with three waves down to 0.7530. Retest of 0.8006 high should be seen next. However, break of 0.7676 will extend the corrective pattern from 0.8006 with another falling leg, back to 0.7530 support.

In the bigger picture, whole down trend from 1.1079 (2001 high) should have completed at 0.5506 (2020 low) already. Rise from 0.5506 could either be the start of a long term up trend, or a corrective rise. Reactions to 0.8135 key resistance will reveal which case it is. But in any case, medium term rally is expected to continue as long as 0.7413 resistance turned support holds.

AUD/USD’s breach of 0.6645 resistance suggests that rise from 0.6361 is resuming. Intraday bias is now on the upside for 61.8% projection of 0.6464 to 0.6645 from 0.6578 at 0.6690. Firm break there will target 100% projection at 0.6759. For now, further rally will remain in favor as long as 0.6578 support holds, in case of retreat.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 0.6169 (2022 low) are seen as a medium term corrective pattern to the down trend from 0.8006 (2021 high). Fall from 0.7156 (2023 high) is seen as the second leg, which could still be in progress. Overall, sideway trading could continue in range of 0.6169/7156 for some more time. But as long as 0.7156 holds, an eventual downside breakout would be mildly in favor.

Intraday bias in AUD/USD remains neutral at this point. Corrective fall from 0.8006 could extend lower. Break of 0.7562 will target 100% projection of 0.8006 to 0.7620 from 0.7848 at 0.7462. We’ll look for strong support from there to bring rebound. On the upside, break of 0.7848 resistance is needed to confirm completion of the correction. Otherwise, risk will stay on the downside in case of recovery.

In the bigger picture, whole down trend from 1.1079 (2001 high) should have completed at 0.5506 (2020 low) already. Outlook in AUD/USD is unchanged. Consolidation from 0.7309 is still in progress. Above 0.7483 will bring stronger rebound. But in that case, upside should below 0.7676 resistance to bring larger fall resumption. On the downside, break of 0.7309 and sustained trading below 0.7328 cluster support (61.8% retracement of 0.6826 to 0.8135 at 0.7326) will extend the fall from 0.8135 to 0.7158 support next.

In the bigger picture, medium term rebound from 0.6826 is seen as a corrective move that should be completed at 0.8135. Deeper decline would be seen back to retest 0.6826 low. This will now remain the favored case as long as 0.7676 resistance holds.

AUD/USD’s rebound from 0.7443 continues today but stays below 0.7615 resistance. Intraday bias remains neutral first. On the upside, break of 0.7615 will argue that corrective pattern from 0.8006 has completed already. Further rise should then be seen back to 0.7890.8006 resistance zone. On the downside, break of 0.7443 will resume the whole corrective pattern from 0.8006. But we’d expect strong support from 100% projection of 0.8006 to 0.7530 from 0.7890 at 0.7414 to bring rebound.

In the bigger picture, rise from 0.5506 medium term bottom could either be the start of a long term up trend, or a corrective rise. Reactions to 0.8135 key resistance will reveal which case it is. Rejection by 0.8135 key resistance, followed by firm break of 0.7413 resistance turned support, will favors the latter case. Intraday bias in AUD/USD remains neutral for the moment. We’re still favoring the case that correction from 0.8006 has completed with three waves down to 0.7530. Further rise is in favor as long as 0.7676 support holds. On the upside, break of 0.7815 will resume the rise from 0.7530 to 0.7484 resistance, and then retesting 0.8006 high. However, break of 0.7676 will dampen our bullish view and bring retest of 0.7530 low support.

AUD/USD is staying in consolidation from 0.7545 temporary top and intraday bias remains neutral. In case of another retreat, downside should be contained by 0.7377 support to bring another rally. On the upside, break of 0.7454 will resume the rise from 0.7105 to 161.8% projection of 0.7105 to 0.7477 from 0.7169 at 0.7771.

In the bigger picture, with 0.6991 cluster support (38.2% retracement of 0.5506 to 0.8006 at 0.7051) intact, we’re seeing price action from 0.8006 as a correction only. That is, up trend from 0.5506 low would resume after the correction completes. In that case, main focus will be 0.8135 key resistance (2018 high). Sustained break there will carry larger bullish implications. However, sustained break of 0.6991 will argue that the whole medium term trend has indeed reversed.

Intraday bias in AUD/USD remains mildly on the upside for the moment. Rebound from 0.7732 short term bottom could extend to retest 0.9124 high. But we’d be cautious on strong resistance from there to limit upside and bring another fall to extend the corrective pattern. On the downside, break of 0.7732 will target medium term fibonacci level at 0.7628 first.

In the bigger picture, rise from 0.6826 medium term bottom is seen as corrective pattern. Current development suggests that it might be completed with three waves up to 0.8124 already. Break of 38.2% retracement of 0.6826 to 0.8124 at 0.7628 will firm this bearish case. And, decisive break of 0.7328 key cluster support (61.8% retracement at 0.7322) will confirm and bring retest of 0.6826 low. In case rise from 0.6826 resumes and extends, strong resistance should be seen at 38.2% retracement of 1.1079 to 0.6826 at 0.8451 to limit upside.

Intraday bias in AUD/USD is turned neutral with current retreat. On the upside, above 0.6929 will resume the rebound from 0.6680 to 55 day EMA (now at 0.6967).
