AUD/USD Daily Report

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.7142; (P) 0.7203; (R1) 0.7236; More…

Intraday bias in AUD/USD remains mildly on the downside as fall from 0.7477 is in progress for retesting 0.7105 low. Firm break there will resume whole decline from 0.8006 for 0.6991 support next. On the upside, break of 0.7315 resistance will turn bias back to the upside for 0.7477 resistance instead.

In the bigger picture, with 0.6991 cluster support (38.2% retracement of 0.5506 to 0.8006 at 0.7051) intact, we’re seeing price action from 0.8006 as a correction only. That is, up trend from 0.5506 low would resume after the correction completes. In that case, main focus will be 0.8135 key resistance (2018 high). Sustained break there will carry larger bullish implications. However, sustained break of 0.6991 will argue that the whole medium term trend has indeed reversed.

AUD/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.7289; (P) 0.7323; (R1) 0.7373; More…

Intraday bias remains mildly on the upside as the rise from 0.7158 would extend higher to 38.2% retracement of 0.7777 to 0.7518 at 0.7394, which is close to 55 days EMA. Sustained break there will turn focus back to 0.7777/7833 resistance zone. Meanwhile, rejection from there will retain bearishness for 0.7144 support. Break of 0.7144 support will likely extend the larger down trend through 0.6826.

In the bigger picture, AUD/USD is staying inside long term falling channel and it’s likely that the down trend from 1.1079 is still in progress. Break of 0.6826 low will confirm this bearish case and target 61.8% projection of 0.9504 to 0.6826 from 0.7777 at 0.6122 next. We’ll be looking for bottoming sign again as it approaches 0.6008 key support level. Meanwhile, sustained break of 0.7833 resistance will be a strong sign of medium term reversal.

Further rally is in favor in AUD/USD as long as 0.6689 support holds. Rise from 0.6269 would target 0.6894 resistance first. Sustained break there will target 0.7156 next. Nevertheless, break of 0.6689 will indicate short term topping, and turn bias back to the downside for deeper pull back

In the bigger picture, there is no confirmation that down trend from 0.8006 (2021 high) has completed. Price actions from 0.6169 (2022 low) could be just a medium term corrective pattern. Rise from 0.6269 is seen as the third leg of the pattern. For now, range trading should be seen between 0.6169 and 0.7156 (2023 high), until further developments.

Intraday bias in AUD/USD remains mildly on the upside with 0.7205 minor support intact. Sustained trading above 55 day EMA (now at 0.7236) will argue that fall from 0.8006 has completed at 0.6992, after defending 0.6991 support. Further rally would be seen to 0.7555 resistance for confirmation. On the downside, below 0.7205 minor support will mix up the near term outlook and turn intraday bias neutral first.

In the bigger picture, strong rebound from 0.6991 key structural support will retain medium term bullishness. That is, whole up trend from 0.5506 is still in progress. Firm break of 0.7555 resistance will target 0.8006 high and above. However, sustained break of 0.6991 will argue that the whole up trend from 0.5506 might be finished at 0.8006, after rejection by 0.8135 long term resistance. Deeper decline would then be seen back to 61.8% retracement of 0.5506 to 0.8006 at 0.6461.

Intraday bias in AUD/USD remains mildly on the downside for 0.6868 support. Firm break there argue that whole rebound from 0.6680 is finished, and bring retest of 0.6680 low. On the upside, above 0.7030 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral first.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 0.8006 (2021 high) is seen more as a corrective pattern to rise from 0.5506 (2020 low). Or it could be a bearish impulsive move. In either case, outlook will remain bearish as long as 0.7282 resistance holds. Next target is 61.8% retracement of 0.5506 to 0.8006 at 0.6461.

Intraday bias in AUD/USD remains neutral first. On the upside, break of 0.7837 resistance should indicate completion of the correction for 0.8006. Intraday bias will be turned back to the upside for retesting 0.8006 high. On the downside, below 0.7620 will target 0.7563 support. Firm break of 0.7563 will indicate that deeper correction is underway, back towards 0.7413 resistance turned support.

In the bigger picture, whole down trend from 1.1079 (2001 high) should have completed at 0.5506 (2020 low) already. Rise from 0.5506 could either be the start of a long term up trend, or a corrective rise. Reactions to 0.8135 key resistance will reveal which case it is. But in any case, medium term rally is expected to continue as long as 0.7413 resistance turned support holds.

Intraday bias in AUDUSD stays on the downside this week. Current down trend should target 100% projection of 0.7660 to 0.6680 from 0.7135 at 0.6155 next. On the upside, break of 0.6539 resistance is needed to indicate short term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will stay bearish in case of recovery.

In the bigger picture, down trend form 0.8006 (2021 high) is expected to continue as long as 0.6680 support turned resistance holds. Next target is 0.5506 low. Medium term momentum will now be closely monitored to gauge the chance of break of 0.5506.

AUD/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.7811; (P) 0.7828; (R1) 0.7850; More…

AUD/USD’s rally resumed after brief consolidation and intraday bias is back on the upside for 0.7896 cluster resistance (61.8% retracement of 0.8124 to 0.7500 at 0.7886). Considering bearish divergence condition in 4 hour MACD, upside should be limited by 0.7896/44 to bring a short term top. Break of 0.7804 minor support should turn intraday bias back to the downside for 4 hour 55 EMA (now at 0.7764) and below.

In the bigger picture, we’re still slightly favoring the case that corrective rise from 0.6826 medium term bottom is likely completed at 0.8124, after hitting 55 month EMA (now at 0.8032). But stronger than expected rebound from 0.7500 is dampening this bearish view. On the downside, break of 0.7500 will target 0.7328 key cluster support (61.8% retracement 0.6826 to 0.8124 at 0.7322) to confirm this bearish case. But break of 0.8124 will extend the rise from 0.6826 to 38.2% retracement of 1.1079 (2011 high) to 0.6826 (2016 low) at 0.8451 before completion.

Intraday bias in AUD/USD stays on the upside first, despite some loss of momentum as seen in 4H MACD. Fall from 0.7156 could have completed with three waves down to 0.6269. Further rally should be seen to 0.6894 resistance next. Meanwhile, near term outlook will stay cautiously bullish as long as 0.6524 support holds, in case of retreat.

Outlook in AUD/USD remains unchanged and intraday bias remains neutral first. Correction pattern from 0.7064 is expected to have another decline before completion. On the downside, break of 0.6776 will target 38.2% retracement of 0.5506 to 0.7064 at 0.6469. Nevertheless, sustained break of 0.7064 will resume whole rise from 0.5506 instead.

In the bigger picture, rebound from 0.5506 medium term bottom could be correcting whole long term down trend form 1.1079 (2011 high). Further rally would be seen to 55 month EMA (now at 0.7340). This will remain the preferred case as long as it stays above 55 week EMA (now at 0.6727). Sustained trading below 55 week EMA will turn focus back to 0.5506 low instead.

AUD/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.6980; (P) 0.6999; (R1) 0.7019; More…

AUD/USD weakens today but stays above 0.6962 temporary low. Intraday bias remains neutral first and some more consolidations could be seen. In case of another recovery, upside should be limited by 0.7069 resistance to bring fall resumption. On the downside, break of 0.6962 will resume the fall from 0.7295 to 100% projection of 0.7295 to 0.7003 from 0.7205 at 0.6913. Decisive break there will indicate further downside acceleration and pave the way to retest 0.6722 low. However, considering bullish convergence condition in 4 hour MACD, firm break of 0.7069 will indicate near term bottoming and turn bias back to the upside for 0.7205 resistance and above.

In the bigger picture, with 0.7393 key resistance intact, medium term outlook remains bearish. The decline from 0.8135 (2018 high) is seen as resuming long term down trend from 1.1079 (2011 high). Decisive break of 0.6826 (2016 low) will confirm this bearish view and resume the down trend to 0.6008 (2008 low). However, firm break of 0.7393 will argue that fall from 0.8135 has completed. And corrective pattern from 0.6826 has started the third leg, targeting 0.8135 again.

A temporary top is formed at 0.7440 with current retreat. Intraday bias in AUD/USD is turned neutral first. Some correction could be seen and deeper pull back cannot be ruled out. But further rally will remain in favor as long as 0.7093 support holds. As noted before, larger decline from 0.8006 might have completed at 0.6966 already. Above 0.7440 will resume the rise from 0.6966 for 0.7555 resistance next.

In the bigger picture, focus remains on 0.6991 key structural support. Sustained break there will argue that the whole up trend from 0.5506 might be finished at 0.8006, after rejection by 0.8135 long term resistance. Deeper decline would then be seen back to 61.8% retracement of 0.5506 to 0.8006 at 0.6461. Meanwhile, strong rebound from 0.6991 will retain medium term bullishness. That is, whole up trend from 0.5506 is still in progress for another rise through 0.8006 at a later stage.

Intraday bias in AUD/USD remains on the upside for 0.7047 resistance. Break will resume the rebound from 0.6831 and target 61.8% retracement of 0.7295 to 0.6831 at 0.7118. Sustained trading above will pave the way to 0.7205 resistance next. On the downside, break of 0.6983 minor support will turn bias to the downside for 0.6910 support instead.

Intraday bias in AUD/USD is turned neutral again with current retreat. On the upside, break of 0.6982, and sustained trading above 55 day EMA (now at 0.6965) will pave the way to 0.7282 resistance next. On the downside, however, break of 0.6858 minor support will argue that the rebound from 0.6680 is over. Intraday bias will then be back on the downside for retesting 0.6680 low.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 0.8006 (2021 high) could still be a corrective pattern to rise from 0.5506 (2020 low). But current downside acceleration, as seen in weekly MACD), is raising the chance that it’s a bearish impulsive move. In either case, outlook will remain bearish as long as 0.7282 resistance holds. Next target is 61.8% retracement of 0.5506 to 0.8006 at 0.6461.

AUD/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.7115; (P) 0.7149; (R1) 0.7205; More…

AUD/USD’s rebound from 0.7084 short term bottom is still in progress and intraday bias stays mildly on the upside. Further rise could be seen to 55 day EMA (now at 0.7313). But upside should be limited well below 0.7361 resistance to bring down trend resumption. On the downside, break of 0.7084 will resume the fall from 0.8135 for key support level at 0.6826. However, sustained break of 0.7361 will carry larger bullish implication.

In the bigger picture, rebound from 0.6826 (2016 low) is seen as a corrective move that should be completed at 0.8135. Fall from there would extend to have a test on 0.6826. There is prospect of resuming long term down trend from 1.1079 (2011 high). Current downside momentum as seen in daily and weekly MACD support this bearish case. Firm break of 0.6826 will target 0.6008 key support next (2008 low). On the upside, break of 0.7361 resistance, however, argues that a medium term bottom is possibly in place, and stronger rebound could follow. We’ll assess the medium term outlook later if this happens.

AUD/USD Weekly Outlook

AUD/USD stayed in consolidation above 0.6677 last week and outlook is unchanged. Initial bias remains neutral this week first. On the upside, break of 0.6822 will extend the rebound from 0.6677. But upside should be limited below 0.6910 support turned resistance to bring fall resumption. On the downside, break of 0.6677 will target 100% projections of 0.7295 to 0.6831 from 0.7082 at 0.6618.

In the bigger picture, decline from 0.8135 (2018 high) is seen as resuming the long term down trend from 1.1079 (2011 high). Firm break of 0.6826 (2016 low) should confirm this bearish view. Further fall should be seen to 0.6008 (2008 low) next. On the upside, break of 0.7082 resistance is needed to be the first sign of medium term bottoming. Otherwise, outlook will remain bearish even in case of strong rebound.

In the longer term picture, prior rejection by 55 month EMA maintained long term bearishness in AUD/USD. That is, down trend from 1.1079 (2011 high) is still in progress. Sustained break of 0.6826 will target 0.6008 low and then 61.8% projection of 1.1079 to 0.6826 from 0.8135 at 0.5507.

Intraday bias in AUD/USD remains on the downside for the moment. Current down trend should target 100% projection of 0.7660 to 0.6680 from 0.7135 at 0.6155 next. On the upside, above 0.6362 minor resistance will turn intraday bias neutral and bring consolidations. But outlook will remain bearish as long as 0.6539 resistance holds.

In the bigger picture, down trend form 0.8006 (2021 high) is expected to continue as long as 0.6680 support turned resistance holds. Next target is 0.5506 low. Medium term momentum will now be closely monitored to gauge the chance of break of 0.5506.

AUD/USD’s rebound from 0.6828 resumed after brief retreat. Intraday bias is back on the upside for 55 day EMA (now at 0.7173). Break there will target 0.7265 resistance next. On the downside, though, break of 0.7034 minor support will turn bias back to the downside for retesting 0.6828 low.

In the bigger picture, price actions from 0.8006 are seen as a corrective pattern to rise from 0.5506 (2020 low). Deeper fall could be seen to 50% retracement of 0.5506 to 0.8006 at 0.6756. This coincides with 100% projection of 0.8006 to 0.7105 from 0.7660 at 0.6760. Strong support is expected from 0.6756/60 cluster to contain downside to complete the correction. However, sustained break of 0.6756/60 would argue that AUD/USD is indeed already in a medium term down trend.

AUD/USD Daily Outlook

Daily Pivots: (S1) 0.7688; (P) 0.7713; (R1) 0.7754; More…

AUD/USD’s rally continues today and reaches as high as 0.7762. Break of 0.7711 confirms resumption of rise from 0.7328. Intraday bias remains on the upside for 0.7833. Still, there is no clear sign of range breakout yet. Hence, we’d be cautious on topping again as it approaches medium term fibonacci level at 0.7849. On the downside, below 0.7713 minor support will turn intraday bias neutral first. But near term outlook will remain bullish as long as 0.7570 support holds.

In the bigger picture, we’re still treating price actions from 0.6826 low as a corrective pattern. And, as long as 38.2% retracement of 0.9504 to 0.6826 at 0.7849 holds, long term down trend from 1.1079 is expected to resume sooner or later. Break of 0.6826 low will target 0.6008 key support level. However, firm break of 0.7849 will indicate that rise from 0.6826 is developing into a medium term rebound, rather than a sideway pattern. In such case, stronger rise should be seen to 55 month EMA (now at 0.8082) and above.

Intraday bias in AUD/USD remains neutral for the moment. With 0.6982 minor support intact, further rise is in favor. On the upside, break of 0.7047 will resume the rebound from 0.6831 for 61.8% retracement of 0.7295 to 0.6831 at 0.7118. Sustained trading above will pave the way to 0.7205 resistance next. On the downside, break of 0.6983 minor support will turn bias to the downside for 0.6910 support instead.
